I stopped by Horseman Bagels to pick up a Too Good To Go order. The very nice man handed me two big bags of bagels. Wow! They share space with a Carvel there and everything was very clean. Now, these bagels toast up very light. This bagel will not lay heavy in the tummy. You get an airy, crisp bite if you toast lightly. Different from my usual type but flavorful and great if you want a light bagel without scooping out all the dough. I don't do this, but for those that do, I think you will find it's so light you might not need to. They had a nice pumpernickel bagel and rosemary sea salt bagel. Looking for an evening Icecream we came across Horseman Bagels. Lots of traditional Icecream soft serve and hard Icecream but also a non dairy option made with oatly. The reviews are so high because they're the only game in town. The food is fine. But don't except anything above average. And service is insanely slow. Expect to spend an hour here if you get in line at 8:30am or later on a weekend. The bagel selection was limited, but the bagels themselves had a good texture. The everything bagel was so salty I couldn't eat the top half. The bagel sandwiches don't have any condiments. They're just plain egg and cheese. A little mustard would go a long way. The service was plenty patient and friendly, especially given how busy it was. The worst thing is how slow it is. There were only maybe 5 orders ahead of us in line, and it took 30 min to order. The problem is the person who takes your order is also the person who makes your food and checks you out. 3 people were working. It was inefficient. There are only a few tables inside and out. But since it takes so long to order, there'll likely be empty tables by the time you are ready to sit down. Lattes on the menu but no lattes. Bummer. TL DR: everything bagel too salty, get a sweet or plain bagel with schmear not a sammy; plan to spend an hour here on a weekend morning. read more

Been an active TooGoodToGo user recently and love trying new spots! Though this bagel place has been open for a minute, was glad to pick up a bag that I was able to store in my freezer (tip: slice your bagels before storing!) These bagels are fairly large, they almost didn't fit in my bagel cutter! Not really a fan of the rainbow bagels but all the other flavors were perfect! I found this restaurant on my Too Good To Go app. I decided to try it out because I like bagels and I like sandwiches. I went one morning after work. I wanted to see what the hype was about. The entrance it pretty confusing if you don't live in Sleepy Hollow. This restaurant "appears" to be next door to the Carvel Ice Cream Shop. You actually have to enter through the Carvel Ice Cream Shop. I was immediately greeted and given time to think about what I wanted to order. I grabbed a Snapple Fruit Punch from the open fridge. I ordered an Egg and Cheese on a Bagel. I requested my plain bagel be toasted with butter and then spread with grape jelly before topping with the egg and cheese. I must say the sandwich was good (not like I make my egg and cheese bagels at home). The bagel was toasted a little too much to my liking, so the bottom was hard to bite and the cheese was not mixed into the egg. My sandwich was wrapped in aluminum foil and placed into a bag. They had no napkins available at the time (which is crazy because they had been open for almost two hours before I arrived). There's not much seating inside, but they also have some seating outside. (Which is nice for a sunny day or when the weather is good). Not too many inside, so it was nice and quiet when I placed my order. Will try again and next time ask that my bagel not be toasted too much. I spent like $8.50 for the bagel sandwich and drink. read more

Horseman Bagels has the most incredible bagels I've ever had! They are hot and fresh with the most perfect soft, doughiness while still having the perfect soft, yet crisp outside! We devoured plain bagels and rosemary garlic bagels. They were out of this world! The flavor was amazing. The tuna salad and nova were very good, too. The customer service is top notch! This was the best food I had during our weekend trip to Sleepy Hollow. I am not a bagel expert (where I live, we get our "fancy" bagels from Panera), so do with this review what you will.... The parking and ordering situations at 8-ish on a Sunday morning were not the greatest. There was some confusion over who had already ordered and where the line began, so service wasn't super fast. BUT! Once we got our order (everything with veggie cream cheese and plain with scallion and lox)-- these things were SO good. The bagels were large and perfectly chewey. The veggie cream cheese had real chunks of veggies, not just veggie "flavor." I don't even like salmon that much, but I tried a bite and it was really tasty. If anything, maybe they were a bit heavy-handed on the cream cheese, but better that than too little. Again, I'm no expert, but I really, really liked these bagels! read more

I had a really frustrating experience at this bagel shop. There was only one person working, handling everything from taking orders to making the food, which led to an extremely slow process. While he was busy making bagels, a long line of customers--including people who just wanted a simple coffee or a plain bagel--were stuck waiting. It took me 30 minutes just to get a single bagel. The management here is clearly lacking, and the inefficiency makes it hard to justify coming back. I do not recommend this place. Owner, you need to fix the inefficiency. Hire more staff, separate order-taking from food prep, and set up a quick-service line for coffee and simple bagels. Consider online ordering and train your team to work faster. If you don't, you'll keep losing customers. read more

Growing in Brooklyn I feel makes me qualified to judge a bagel. There's lots of great places still in NYC. Not so much in Westchester. There's a place down the block from me that's part of a small chain. Very good, but long lines and honestly I don't feel it's very clean. Anyway, I went into Horseman ready to be very judgmental. Especially based on the reviews. Went in around 7 am this morning and got me a tuna on sesame bagel. I can tell by looking the bagels are well made. Taste was perfect. Tuna fresh. Friendly service.
