This was a pleasant surprise. They don't have a toaster but before you think it's not worth it, this was a very good bagel. I'm not someone who loves cream cheese but that was the best cream cheese and plain bagel I've ever had. The bagel is amazing! Pretty unassuming place with a simple menu but went in after It was recommended to us. So glad we did because It was fantastic. They don't toast the bagels here - I'm a toasted bagel kind of girl so at first I was worried but wow, there's a reason they don't toast: It doesn't need It! The bagel was hot and fresh, the dough pulling apart & spongy, soft and chewy. They also placed the perfect amount of salmon (not too much, not too little). It was also thin and melted in your mouth. After our early morning run/walks & hikes we like to stop at Scarsdale Bagels occasionally and reward ourselves with their fresh warm ready-made bagels. Bagels are best enjoyed fresh baked hot from the oven! They have an array of flavors, plain, pumpernickel, sourdough, rye .... We like the Sesame and 'Everything' flavors. Then we go home, add smoked salmon, capers, etc or just toast them with a little butter and strawberry preserves. Yum Missing the days of our group breakfasts at the diner. Hopefully things will change so we can dine indoors again. Until then, we will enjoy our Take-away bagel cravings here in Scarsdale. Stay safe and well. read more

Love this place! A must go to in Scarsdale! I love the little plastic goose they dress up in the window it hilarious! And has new outfits every week or so! Great bagels and coffee! I like the cinnamon raisin and plain bagels. My only negative interaction was years ago when this employee refused to put cream cheese on my bagel and insisted I had to buy an entire tub from the mini fridge. I know they have cream cheese to put in customers bagels it a bagel place. But that was years ago so whatever, all my other experiences have been amazing and all the other staff I've met are super friendly! Great place for coffee and a snack, or a lunch. This is your basic no-nonsense New York bagel store with a counter, a till which only accepts cash (there is no indication of this and the first Saturday in Scarsdale after I arrived I walked over to be disappointed as I only had my credit cards with me). Don't try to tell me about bagels because I will tell you about bagels. These are the best bagels around. Do they live up to a hot bagel from a Queens bagel shop via 1985? Your Mom sends you to the corner shop where you get a baker's dozen for 3 friggin bucks. Then as you walk home you start eating one of the warm ones right out of the bag like a savage. Do they live up to that moment in time where you can still taste the perfect crunch of the outside mixed with sesame seeds and then doughy deliciousness and that smell....ohh that SMELL!!!!!! NO!!! ....they can't compare to that bagel in that moment in time you nutcase. But they are one of the best bagels in Westchester that you are going to find post 1985. This was a pretty bland bagel. It wasn't so bad I couldn't eat it but it was really chewy and more difficult than most. It was also insanely small. I could barely taste any of the cream cheese and when i did it surely didn't taste like vegetable cream cheese. For $3.80 I'd rather go to Brook Street Bagels. read more

Been out of town for some time, but Scarsdale Bagels is perhaps the best bagels in town. I thought so over ten years ago, and I still think so now. It's a small shop on Garth Road, nothing flashy or fancy about it. But the bagels are good, and they have many options to customize your order, from different cream cheeses, most major types of bagels (including, but not limited to onion, garlic, everything, rye, etc.), and my personal favorite, the bagel with lox. Of course, they have coffee and other drinks too, like Snapple, etc. Try it for yourself, ideally from a freshly baked batch in the morning; you'll see why I and many others endorse Scarsdale Bagels so strongly. I am a big fan of lox, so I like to order their lox bagel. But the true value is in their bagels. They are chewy and tasty while maintaining the firmness of a bagel, especially on the outer layers. Just meh. A perfect example of a business that with just a little effort could really kick up things a notch. Sesame bagel was fine but unremarkable. While not dirty the shop was also not squeaky clean. There were two employees that I saw and two customers--me and someone else. The employees were neutral about our being there...no expression of hospitality at all. Big bummer: they don't toast bagels. Strikes me like a pizzeria that doesn't put cheese on its pizzas--why bother? Lastly, they short changed me. I didn't notice until I was gone. Won't be stopping here again. read more

After seeing these reviews I'm wondering if I got a fluke bagel. Came here on New Year's Day and was served easily the worst bagel-place bagel I've ever gotten. It was rock hard, not even soft on the inside. It made a Thomas' store bought bagel taste good. The vegetable cream cheese tasted sour. The iced coffee tasted dusty, if that makes sense. Best bagels I've found in the Westchester area so far . I'm a bit of a bagel snob in that I've grown up on Long Island and NYC. (If you're ever on LI go to hand rolled bagels in New Hyde Park...you won't regret it). I tend to eat a bagel just about everyday! I buy a dozen at a time and freeze um. I am loving the bagels here and happened upon their location when I was looking for the Dunkin Donuts that used to be there. I was a little annoyed when I walked in and the gentleman at the counter started to take my order and then bypassed me to take one of his regular customer's order. He basically pushed me onto the next staff member who was not even ready to assist me and on top of that, he started to take the order from his regular customer that came in AFTER me and then proceeded to pawn off her order on another employee. In the affluent village of Scarsdale, you would think that there would be at least one really good bagel place. This tiny hole in the wall has had a foothold in the community for quite a while but the bagels are as basic as they get. You won't find any special varieties of cream cheeses here. You won't find anything too crazy as far as bagel selections. No seating. No bathroom. They don't even have eggs here so forget about getting a typical breakfast sandwich on a bagel. I had an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was more like a "barely anything" bagel. Not many toppings on it. The bagel was decent enough but it wasn't as tasty as it could have been. At least it felt soft and fresh. The bagels are made here on the premises so that was one saving grace. In a place like Scarsdale where they have more than their fair share of upper crust types, you would think they would demand the same quality and extras that go into a lot of the fine bagel establishments in NYC. Even some of the less well-to-do parts in NYC have bagel places with more bells and whistles. It's one thing to not bend to current bagel status quo based on rep, it's another to not bend based on location.
