Been coming here for 6 years. Great bar, but theres this one long haired dude that works Thursdays who is always fucked up. No judgement, it's a chill bar, feel free to have a drink. However he always overcharges me. I order 2 low life's ($9) he gives me one low life and a Miler. I ask for the missing shot. He charges me an additional WELL drink ($8) on top of my original order. I only noticed this because I had my receipt texted to me. I don't care about paying an extra $5 but this is an habitual issue with this guy. He forget orders and goes out and smokes. He gives ~1oz pours when I order a neats (the standard is 1.5-2oz) look, I'm a bartender, I'm not trying to be a pain, i always tip him over 20% and I come here after my shifts. But I've reached a point where I avoid this bar when he's working. I really want to give this bar 5 stars, because when he's not working, it's the best spot on Bedford. Anyone reading this should absolutely come through and let the place speak for itself. read more

Complete rebranding of the former Rosamunde Sausage Grill. 60/70's decor complete with paneling, shag carpet ceiling, macrame plants, & Dogs Playing Poker; music vibe to match. Fun for those of us who grew up in that decade. Strictly libations no food. Knowledgeable friendly bartender ( didn't catch her name ). I've visited this place frequently since moving to NY about a year ago and had nothing but good experiences. Last night, however, my friend and I were rudely kicked out for no reason almost as soon as we walked in. Immediately after entering the establishment, we noticed there was no one around the pool table, so we walked over there and started lining up the balls to play a game. This bartender (a short, skinny, white man with a blue cap, white shirt, and various tattoos in his arms) came from all the way behind the bar and said: "you can't use the pool table if you don't buy drinks." We told him that we were going to order drinks soon, and he insisted that we had to leave because we were not drinking. It was quite shocking to see the bartender go through the trouble of walking out from behind the bar and all the way to the back of the place just to tell us we couldn't play pool (and as soon as we walked in, to boot). First of all, there were no names written on the chalkboard by the table to indicate who's in line to play (nor did he bother to check it or ask us) and no one hanging around the table waiting to play. Also, the bar area itself was quite busy for a Monday night, so it was odd that even with many people sitting literally in front of him, he thought it was more important to tell us to leave than to tend to them. Upon further inspection of those seated at the bar, we noticed that every single one of them was white. It makes it all the more suspicious that he would immediately jump to tell the two Latinos in baseball caps and hoodies that they couldn't be there. And that's exactly what he did: he did not ask what we wanted to drink or even offered to get us anything, he merely came up to us and said "you can't play if you don't drink" literally seconds after we walked in. As we stood there flabbergasted, he went back behind the bar and directed an intimidating stare towards our direction for the few seconds we stood there (trying to make sense of what happened before we left). Again, I have been here many times and have seen A LOT of people (of every race) come in just to play pool, and no one has ever told them they can't play if they don't drink - let alone in a confrontational way, as this man did. New York is the most diverse city in the world, and if you have a problem with ethnicities different from your own, you should not live and/or work here. At the very least, you should put your prejudices aside while you are on the job, especially if you work in the service industry. I urge the owners of this establishment to take a hard look at who they hire and make sure their customers are treated politely, otherwise, we will take our business elsewhere. read more

This place is such a gem--an easy Saturday night you can get a seat and pay only $10 for a well-made cocktail while listening to soulful beats or oldies. There are no actual horses here, But several paintings on the wall make you feel like you're in the stables! No but really. Quirky decor, great cocktails and pool table. I have never experienced a bartender as rude as the one working during the day on 3/16/19. After he already had an attitude with my husband I ordered a martini off the $10 drinks special. He asked how I wanted it and I replied "I don't like olives so with a twist". He then replied "how do you want it"? I didn't say anything and he then said "when you go to a restaurant do you just order food"? Ive lived in Brooklyn for years and understand hipster service issues but the aggressiveness in his tone was in no way warranted. We sent in on Saturday afternoon with a few friends for a celebration and the bartender blatantly ignored us and was serving people that got to that bar after us. After waiting for 20 min and even an attempt to ask her for a drink - which she rudely yelled at us that she was busy serving other people and then never came back to us. I went here with a friend of mine. They told us in the beginning that they were not able to accommodate our split receipts because they didn't know how. We ended up putting our entire tab on one card because of this. At the end of the night I was kicked out for asking for an itemized receipt. I was nice and respectful an the bartender was we extremely rude simply because I asked him to accomplish a task so simple, part of his job description. Bike I guess maybe he didn't know how. Or he wasn't granted the ability to accomplish this task because of the limitations put on him from the company or because of his own personal limitations. Honestly it doesn't matter. I've never been treated this way before. I was nice and respectful and the Bartender seemed like he didn't even want to be there and he was angry because he didn't know how to do his job. As someone who loves a good 70s den themed bar, Horses and Divorces became an instant new favorite when I walked in with some friends last weekend. Its a large bar with several booths, a pool table and an infamous nude portrait of Burt Reynolds in the back. Design wise this bar has lots of great touches whether it's the pornographic illustrations illuminated above the bar or the neon red lighting that creates a kind of "filter" throughout the venue. But enough about how it looks, the drinks! The drinks are well priced for the area, with bartenders who are very warm and friendly. I would alone go back for the awesome bartender we had when we went (ah so sorry I didn't catch his name but next time I will ask!). They don't offer a lot in the food department, but you can get a ham and cheese croissant which I'm always down for. Great music choices, professional without being rude security, and has a very nice casual vibe. Planning on coming here regularly. read more
