Came here for an early dinner around 4pm. Got there in time for happy hour 4-7pm. Even though I didn't get drinks, we got 2 lychee hamachi spoons for $6. Highly recommend this bite, maybe order more. We also shared the Ginger chicken dish that was delicious and the Holiday tuna roll that had jalapeños on top. As someone who's had sushi in every place (i'm allergic to shellfish maybe their shellfish is good) but from what i had it was average sushi, tuna wasn't the fanciest, miso soup for 7 dollars was a steal and the rolls were okay but overall it's prices are a bit higher than other sushi places surrounding the area only for it to be about average. A bit disappointed that it was hyped up and has such amazing reviews but we won't be back, ambiance is gorgeous but i feel that's more where the price goes and the location of the restaurant. Our server was also very sweet and attentive but it wasn't hitting the marks of exclusivity or hype it's made to be. Just get a cheaper sushi or more bang for your buck elsewhere read more

SO YUMMY! i got something from the pad thai menu and a sushi roll and both were so good!!! the server was very kind and helpful in deciding on what to get. the only thing i will say is the portion felt small for the pad thai, i was honestly still a little hungry afterwards. i feel like other places ive gone give larger portions. the place is cute but could use a little more character. i didn't get a drink but the drinks look yummy! read more

This Hoshi & Sushi is located in downtown Hollywood,but luckily, not on the Main Street. In short, parking may be a little scarce, but not horrible like other places nearby. Such a beautiful and refreshing esthetic. Upon walking in, everyone pleasantly greets you and you're able to sit where ever. We scored a nice spot by the window and it was perfect. Everything we ate was full of bold traditional flavor. The truffle fries were so good, my cousin was damn near licking the plate to not leave any Parmesan behind lol I loved my red curry salmon. Be careful with the spice though. I am a spicy food queen and their medium level heat was borderline 'I can't take this'. I kept going for more. But I am also the 7th letter of the alphabet. lol go for mild everything if you can't handle spicy. My cousin loved her basil fried rice with pineapples I want to go back asap for drinks! I met a friend for lunch at this restaurant. The restaurant was empty at noon, but shorty after a few more patrons arrived. Maybe it was a bad day but I didn't love my sushi combo plate. The lunch menu is very limited and the Thai were all dinner portion. The sushi combo came with soup or salad and the miso soup was delicious. But I took 1/2 of my lunch home. My friend ordered the dinner Pad See U. She also took 1/2 home and she highly recommends that dish. I might try another day as they have an interesting menu. On 4/10/2026 I ordered Pad Thai gluten-free personally called the restaurant to verify, and also called DoorDash to verify. I was sick within 10 minutes, the worst sick I've been in years. it must've been wreaking with gluten, this Restaurant just does not care nor does DoorDash. even if you're gluten sensitive, don't step foot in this place. i'm on vacation in Hollywood Beach and now I will lose at least a day because of this incompetence. read more

I was lucky to be invited by my son to share a meal together at Hoshi & Sushi in Hollywood. He had been here before and thought it was a great place to bring Mom and he was correct. The menu consists of sushi and Thai which we both have a great liking for. I brought him to his first Thai restaurant at a young age. We were seated and served drinks quickly. The atmosphere was lovely and our server was wonderful. We decided to order an appetizer of crab and cream cheese wontons and two dishes we both could share and enjoy. I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai and he ordered the Chicken Massaman Curry. Our food came out promptly. The Pad Thai was very good with great flavor. The rice noodles were different from the usual as they were very thin but still a great dish. The curry was also well received by both of us and we had plenty to share. After a delicious meal we enjoyed walking in the area which was already being decorated for the holidays. The restaurant is located one block south of Hollywood Blvd and we found street parking one block south of the restaurant. I would love to enjoy another meal at Hoshi & Sushi in the future. read more

Fantastic, bold flavours made me do a second take on what was actually served. This restaurant absolutely rocks and they are using mighty good ingredients to make this food alchemy. I had the pad eggplant with tofu. Service here was friendly and very efficient. They offer both sushi and Thai dishes. Make sure you have a reservation on high traffic days to avoid surprises. Street parking is your option here. I found prices a touch higher than other places, but then again the food quality was much higher than other places as well. There is outdoor as well as bar seating. At least the Thai portion was a hit, I can't tell you about the sushi yet because I didn't have any, but it sure did look fresh. read more

The soft shell- perfectly cooked. Creamy on the inside and fried just right. Each bite was creamy. The seaweed salad is part of their lunch special so it's the size you see in the pic for only $6. The unagi is yummy! Service was offered by Jay who is attentive and helpful. Jay is a wonderful. We went for dinner time and it was medium-lit, quiet enough to have a conversation and had a calming environment. Food was so good, we went again the next day. The atmosphere is beautiful, just like the presentation of all the food and drinks! The Lychee Breeze was a delicious cocktail of sake (my first one ever) and sweet flavors that paired well with the savory soup of Tom Yum with Tofu. My daughter loves sushi. I on the other hand am extremely picky about sushi, mainly because I've been sick from it in the past. My past experience is that most of the time it is overpriced and lack luster in quality. We came off a cruise and were staying in the hotel next door just waiting for our flight back to California. We decided to browse the menu and it caught my eye because the also had Thai food which I do love! We decided to give it a go. I was in the mood for soup so I ordered the hot and sour soup mainly because they said it was spicy which sounded good to me. My daughter ordered the ca roll which is her favorite. Food came out and was delicious! I decided to try the tempura roll and it was excellent! Everything hit the spot and was just what we needed. I have been craving sushi that was close to what I had in Japan. This came the closest I have found since being back in Florida. My aunt and I went here before having to go to a doctor's Appointment, and we both enjoyed the sushi. We both ordered Hoshi Maki, which was 16 pieces of sushi, and it also came with either miso soup or salad. The sushi was fresh and amazing. They even accommodated my aunt since she was not able to finish, they gave her some ice to be able to keep her sushi chilled in the car during her appointment. We will be going back to visit. Gratuity is already included in the bill since it seems like the entire wait staff works together. It is a peaceful place for lunch. read more

Quick summary, the place is very cute inside, with kind service and exceptional food! There is indoor and outdoor dining available. I was very impressed by the quality of the food and my oh my the flavorssss!!!! The duck basil is an absolute must! This is such a well balanced dish with flavors reaching all of your tastebuds! The portion is excellent and you get your money's worth. The shrimp tempura roll was also great tasting with fresh ingredients. When you're spending your money at any point in time, you can always appreciate fresh quality ingredients used in your dishes. I just wish the roll was a little bigger! We ordered an eel roll, shrimp tempura roll, truffle tuna bites, and cashew chicken. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The truffle tuna bites had a unique, interesting flavor which I love when trying different foods (you must love truffle to like this though). The cashew chicken had a hint of spice which really elevated the flavors. Reasonable prices too especially considering it's close to the beach! This restaurant is located in the Downtown Hollywood district with lots of nice bars, restaurants, and cafes. I found this place on Yelp! The restaurant was spacious and welcoming. We were seated right away. The server came with menus and offered to bring us drinks. The server was either new or just not interested in enhancing our dining experience. She didn't check on us or ask if we were enjoying our food. We had to flag her down to get her attention just to get some spoons. Now that I got the service side out of the way, the food was memorable and bumped the score from 3 stars to 4 stars. Kudos to the kitchen staff for preparing some delicious Thai food. We ordered the deep-fried soft shell crab, $15.95 for our appetizer. The ponzu dipping sauce was a great complement to the crab. My wife got the red curry with chicken $20.95. It was served in a large bowl and steamed jasmine rice on the side. Nice presentation and good depth of flavors. The broth was on the mild side. I ordered the Duck Basil, $34.95, which stole the show. Deep fried duck and sliced into bite-sized pieces. There were fried pieces of Basil on top and some sautéed onions, red peppers. The duck was tender and juicy inside and crispy on the outside. The serving size again was impressive, and you definitely get your money's worth. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner, and it would have been better if the server was more attentive to us. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a date spot and romantic dinner. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a family with 2 young children, so it got a bit loud. Some fine tuning with the serving staff and this place would score 5 stats. SO suggested we sit outside at Hoshi. Japanese/Thai. Sapporo, and nigiri sake & brussel sprouts to start. Sweet crispy glazed kimchi sauce awesomeness. Next, the Yum Woonsen. Looks like an appetizer portion, but could be lunch. Bowl looks shallow, but surprises you. Ask for a spoon or fork to pick up all of the fine ground porky goodness left in the liquid. Wow what a beautiful restaurant. It's in the nice, pedestrian friendly section of downtown Hollywood and it has very pretty, modern decor inside. So with the setting and the ambiance it's a very nice vibe. Food was mostly good. They have an extensive selection of Thai food and sushi. Our red curry with tofu was tasty and the portion was good. Didn't feel the same about the avocado roll. It was fine but excessively small. Would also appreciate some vegetarian sushi options that aren't just cucumber or avocado, but I guess it's rare to find places that get creative with it. The service was nice. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out some complimentary Thai donuts that we all really liked. They were warm and fresh and just the right amount of sweet. Very nice of them!
