I've learned to like sushi, this is a fresh local place to go. First time I went, someone dropped a plate and the restaurant yelled, "opah!"

I had dinner recently at Sake Thai & Sushi Bar on Sheridan Road in the heart of Hollywood. The food is consistently good here and reasonably priced for the quality of what is offered. The staff is friendly and helpful with menu questions and suggestions if you're on the fence about what to order. I've tried both sides of the menu and they are both excellent and truly representative of the unique cuisines. My favorite Thai food is chicken Pad Thai. I like mine very spicy but be careful and know the difference between American style spicy and Thai Spicy. I also really enjoy the sushi here. They offer a great variety of all of the classic dishes. read more

I've eaten here 2x now. The food was good both times. Their menu has all kinds of sushi and Thai food. I had pad see ew with chicken that was very tasty. My friend had an assortment of sushi that was so fresh and colorful (tuna, salmon) Another friend had the kimchi rolls and she said they were excellent, perfect spice. Came here with a large party last night. We had enough seating and pretty good service considering how many people there were. I ordered the Ladys finger with miso soup. It was very nicely presented, good, and fresh. My friends ordered Thai dishes and other types of sushi. Everyone enjoyed their food. I tasted some of the noodle dishes. I prefered the pad see ew over the pad Thai. The prices at this restaurant are higher than average and I'm not sure why. They also charge you extra for using a credit card and the tip is included in the bill. read more

I have cravings for sushi so we decided to check this place out. It was way bigger inside than i expected and it looked very nice. The service was also pretty fast and hospitable. To drink I had a glass of plum wine which was perfectly chilled. For starters we had the spicy octopus salad and the steamed shrimp shumai. Both appetizers were pretty good. For sushi we had the crazy eel roll and the lobster roll. We really enjoyed them both. The crazy eel roll was on the sweeter side. We also order a fried crab rice. Having had that meal a previous day at a different restaurant I had huge expectations. Unfortunately this was a no for me. 2/10 I wouldn't NOT order or recommend this dish. There was soooo many raisins! Like why. Anyways . Overall it was a decent spot just don't get the crab fried rice. read more

Love Sake Thai and Sushi they never disappoint! I had a family get together, and so we got "Take Out", this time, and everything was great. "Yummy roll", is my favorite, but I get it with out the cream cheese, my husband he loves, and says that there "Volcano roll", is the best he ever had. So I definitely recommend this restaurant. Service is good and atmosphere is nice with there remodel and there nice fish tank and its very clean Really nice and friendly staff. Always been really helpful. I've always had good food and service at Sake Thai, whether I was dining in or ordering to pick up. Tonight I went and ate at the sushi bar. Service was excellent. Very peaceful, relaxing experience. I had a small, hot sake, spinach and crab soup (with real arty fishal crab meat) I've had various rolls in my visits here, including JB, Beauty and the Beast, Big Eye, Rainbow, Volcano. All very good. The seating is spacious and the restaurant accommodates a large crowd with feeling crowded. read more

They do not honor the prices listed on their menu from their Google page, when ordering Take-Out! They also do not mention anything about the updated prices when you call to place an order. Instead you are presented with a bill that's 30% higher than expected, and when you ask them to adjust it to meet the prices from the Google menu, they refuse to make any adjustments and tell you that you should've ordered from our Website not thru the menu on Google. Never going back again and will make sure our friends and neighbors never step foot there again. read more

Most recently, it leans into a nautical theme, complete with marine ropes and a couple of fish tanks adding to the quirky charm. It may not be the trendiest interior, but it's cozy and memorable in its own way. Food was pretty good. Last time and time prior waitress was nasty. Service was non existent! Owner/mgr could care less. Older lady was our waitress and it's been awhile now. Food was not as good as previous visits and service or lack of it was obvious. Prices are way up[same as other good restaurants] but felt like here it was just a money grab. Don't raise prices, lower service and then serve food that has decreased in quality. Everyone has an opinion, but that's ours. I feel supporting the non chain restaurants is important, but also feel that the owners/workers should care, and we felt that was lacking. This was a nice family nite out, but it's not that way in our opinion. Dinner for 4 or 5 is an expensive night out. read more

This is my favorite local sushi spot that I've been coming to for over a decade, since I was in high school! I love the kawahagi and takoyaki as appetizers, they have great aged tofu as well. I usually get the red, orange or black dragon rolls. My bf has a tuna allergy and they are always great at boxing his separately and changing gloves to prevent cross-contamination. The service is fast and friendly, our favorite server is the older one with the pixie cut. They have aquariums and have changed styles over the years to keep up with the times, the new layout is nice and open. read more

I almost passed this place up due to the 3.6 rating, but I am glad I didn't. I suspect it's all from people ordering takeout. Most food sucks as takeout, people still refuse to learn this fact. The food was actually excellent. The sushi was delicious and super fresh. Rice was perfect. Even the wasabi and ginger were top notch. Thai iced tea was great as well, just the right amount of sweet and very smooth and creamy. My ginger curry was fantastic. Super gingery and flavorful, and with extra fresh veggies. Not a single blemish on the peppers, they were crisp and perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed that dish. For dessert we had the fried banana which was also impressive. The service on the other hand was very slow. As in, unacceptably slow. It wasn't the waitress, it was the kitchen. Over 25 minutes for 1 roll of sushi and 2 curries. Really annoyed me. The kitchen looked busy with 4 chefs. So I suspect they were prioritizing online takeout vs actual patrons. Definitely needs improvement. I was so upset I had it in mind to give them 2 or 3 stars then and there, but after having the food I just cannot. That's how much I enjoyed my meal. read more

My friends introduced me to this spot a few years ago when we had gotten delivery a few times. I had been craving Thai food recently and then realized how close it is to me, so I went for dinner tonight. Clean restaurant, sushi bar going all the way down along the left wall, many tables and booths in the dining area. Since it was just me, I was happy to sit at the sushi bar where four sushi chefs were diligently creating delicious art. We greeted each other as he was preparing a beautiful sashimi sampler. I ordered a tom kha soup with chicken, a rainbow roll, and pad thai. The soup was so flavorful, the coconut milk balances out the tang from the lime and brothy saltiness. The rainbow roll was a great size, lots of fresh beautiful fish on top, perfect bite each time. I received a phone call and had to leave early, but the server was able to pack up my pad Thai before it came out and I ended up eating it at home. Super flavorful, sweet, great texture with the eggs and peanuts mixed on the noodles. The server was quick and attentive, everyone was wonderfully polite and helpful with all requests. This sushi place is in my neighborhood and had never been here. Well, I will definitely be coming back. My bae and I came here for date night. It's a nice restaurant with good aesthetics. The staff was very friendly, from the hostess to our waitress. Our waitress was great. She was very helpful with the menu and with the meal choices we made. I ordered the Tom Kha Kai Chicken Soup and Spicy Wahoo Roll and my fiancé had the Special Pad Thai that brings Chicken, Beef, Pork and Shrimp. Our food was delicious and fresh. Sake Thai & Sushi Bar is an excellent restaurant choice for families or even if you just want to grab lunch. There is ample parking in the lot and the restaurant is easy to locate. The food is made with excellent taste and the portions are absolutely great. The pad woon sen was such a treat that left you wanting more with each bite. The ramen was also tasty and filling and the dragon roll was one of the better rolls I've had recently. They can get pretty busy which can slightly affect the speed of service but they are a great choice for any time of the day for incredibly delicious meals. read more

I have a friend from college that lives in hollywood who suggested Sake for our lunch yesterday. I always love trying a new place! It was lunchtime so we ordered off the lunchtime menu which includes either a soup or salad with any meal. I had to have the miso soup and it was delicious and I know its good for me! I also ordered a thai ice tea because I knew i was having a spicy dish and that drink somehow eliminates any burning sensation due to a dishes spiciness. I love the red curry chicken so thats what I ordered. While i HATE peppers I always just pick them out rather than asking them to make it without peppers. Yesterday I picked out at least a whole pepper full of slices...maybe more. It was overpowering! But that was not worthy of taking a star off for it. My meal was delicious! My friend had the shrimp and vehetables. It lloked good! Oui was our server and she took great care of us! There are a few salt water tanks adorning the restaurant. Booths as well as tables fill the space so its your choice where you sit. The place was very clean and the service was superior. It's my first time back since the remodel inside and wow it looks so open and fresh. I really like the new look. We started with the shrimp shumai and edamame. Which were both very tasty. I really enjoy their shrimp shumai here you can actually see the bits of shrimp in it. Next we had the chicken satay and the chicken fried rice. I love that their rice isn't oily, and it has just the right amount of soy sauce. The chicken satay is also very good along with their peanut sauce. I always love coming here for the good food and the fabulous service. And with the new renovation it's looking better than ever. I'm definitely satisfied with the quality and taste of my sushi rolls, but I am not happy about the fact that they charge you $.50 for each cup of eel sauce and spicy mayo. In my opinion, if you are buying six rolls of sushi that should be included. My bill total was $84 and I still had to pay $.50 for the sauces- ridiculous. I hate restaurants that try to nickel and dime their customers. It's probably a good thing that I did a to go order because they had a sign on the door that they were shortstaffed. Despite that sign, when I walked in to pick up my order, there were four ladies standing at the register and it took them about 40 seconds to acknowledge me and greet me upon entering. We took my uncle and his wife that was visiting from Arizona and they loved Sake Thai so much that we came back 2 days later. We said there is many more restaurants in South Florida to take you to and they just wanted to come back here! So these pictures are over 2 days of visiting Saki Thai. What does that tell you about the place if they are on vacation for 5 days and want to come back! I tried the Pad Thai, sweet potato Thai fries, the yummy roll, the tuna appetizer, and of course the sake. Everything tastes very fresh and flavorful. The food comes out at a decent time. You don't feel like you are waiting long! We had the same waitress for the 2 days and she remembered us of course! We are a memorable group lol but she was happy to see us again. I haven't been here in about 5-6 years. My friend took me here and I have recently been staying in Hollywood so I came by to see if it's as good as I don't remember lol! I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table since they were packed and adhering to CDC COVID guidelines in social distancing which I was happy to see. They appeared to have a good system in checking in with each other when seating guests. Everyone working was wearing a mask. I ordered my standard dishes I usually order anywhere and was pleased with the quality and quantity! This was definitely when my eyes were bigger than my stomach. The sushi had huge pieces of fish in it which I had never experienced before. It made almost difficult to eat. The rolls were fresh and one was more tasty than the other. Me & my foodie friend decided to stop by for dinner. She had previously told me about this place & how nice it was & how good the food was so I was excited to try. For our entree, my friend ordered the Seafood Pad Thai & I ordered the Duck Basil. I know the Seafood Pad Thai is a regular item for her because she visits here on our lunch break, but my Duck Basil was AMAZING! The Duck was so crispy & flavorful I truly enjoyed it. I always come here when I feel like I want cheap sushi and a relaxing time, I noticed they have remodeled the place a little bit and I love the wooden tables they put in the front! The set up is definitely better used then before. The food I recommend here is crispy tuna rice, spider roll, yummy roll, shrimp shumai fried , seaweed salad and sake! Oh and the dessert was good! I don't love this place enough to give 5 stars or come often but every time I come it's a nice experience service is always excellent. Well after enjoying this restaurant for over 15 years. I'm sad to say my relationship with Sake has ended. I been a fan of the Thai Tea and Lobster Curry were my signature entree and drink. I went the Monday after Valentines Day and was mortified with the service, my entree, and my drink. My Thai tea was watered down and Lobster Curry literally had raw vegetables, Ughhh. A major disappointment. My white rice was sticky and overcooked. My spouse's chicken fried rice was a total disappointment. The restaurant has lost its gone down. My uncle bought us all dinner when I was visiting my moms house yesterday because he was in the mood to order some sushi. We all picked a few different rolls so I got to try a lot of different ones. I chose the Three Ocean Roll & the Tanzana Roll. Three Ocean was probably my fav and there was so mush fish for the price. All of the rolls were very affordable but not assembled very well. Regardless, I will definitely be back and would highly recommend if your in the mood for sushi.
