I am a self described fried chicken connoisseur, I love fried chicken. Despite all of that I can say that this was awful, I waited 45 minutes for 6 tenders, there was one other man there. When my food arrived I was again disappointed, my Nashville hot tenders were not seasoned, 1 out of six has speckles of seasoning while the others visibly did not, on top of that they about the size of the prongs on my plastic fork, tiny. Not only that my coleslaw was abysmal, there were flies everywhere and bread my food came with was disgustingly soggy while the frys were cold. When I went to wash my hands the soap dispenser did not even have soap in it. I am slightly offended, please save yourself 20 bucks and do not come here. read more

We tried this place the other day because we was recommended here. We got the chicken sandwich which was very good, just note you can't be cute eating this, my favorite was the tenders they were crispy and well flavored, the waffle fries ( only choice they had) were seasoned and good for what they are supposed to be, The bread was over cooked and was told that it wasn't a honey butter just like a drizzle, I am really not a bread eater but the bite I did take was a bit dry. Kind of odd issue but we just ordered delivery (the food is tasty! We've been in the past) and the hc cheeseburger showed up as just a hamburger patty and a bun. Not what we had in mind when ordering, considering that it's a cheeseburger we thought there would be cheese on it at least. Delivery was quick, though! Oh man, looks like some quality control is needed. Got the tenders against better judgement as others have clearly had issues and got a soggy cold plate of tenders on soggy bread. Sad bc had a good experience once but as with most things no quality control degrades a product. I don't understand these reviews. Chicken sandwich is good, but I've had better in Boston. Fries were way too salty. Gave very little sauce with the tender plate, and there's no clear option on their menu for extra. Overall, very overpriced. I'd rather go elsewhere (Underdog or Dave's) and won't be back. This was well worth the drive from Jamaica Plain! The Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich had the perfect amount of lingering heat - not too much to enjoy but just enough to make my nose run - the waffle fries were nicely seasoned, the broccoli slaw was fresh and cleansing to the palate, and the the honey butter biscuits were a lovely start to the meal (not so big as to ruin our appetites!). Wow. Such a great sandwich. The chicken was flavorful and cooked nicely, so the meat remained tender but the coating was crispy, and the sauce they put on it was really complementary. I'm all for more fried chicken spots opening in Cambridge. While Hot Chix is known for their Nashville hot chicken I was glad to see that they sell their chicken dishes at different heat levels. I have low tolerance for spice so I went with their mild option. The chicken tenders plate includes waffle fries, bread, and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and the food was great. I personally was not a huge fan of the food here. I'll start with a couple of positives: the staff was friendly and the ambiance was solid. I was expecting more from the food however. I got a 5 tender plate for roughly $20 (including tip), which seemed like a lot to pay but I was assuming it was for a premium meal. What happened next was anything but.. the chicken was tough and obviously not quality meat. The chicken was also very soggy and the breading was falling apart. The fries were greasy and in a bag that looked like it had been reused (the taste of the fries was decent though). Overall, it was a meal that was incredibly underwhelming and I felt like it had been sitting out for a while it was so soggy and not tasty. I will likely not be coming back, which is a shame because with a name like Hot Chix I thought it would serve a better meal. read more

It really is a place you could walk by and not notice but man I ordered from this place on a whim one day and was hooked thereon. I order often and when I came to eat in the cashier was super nice and kind and our food was absolutely delicious. As far as chicken sandwiches go this place is the best I've had in Boston and as far as spice goes they offer a variety for just about everyone. My family likes some of the deserts as well so I would recommend those on their behalf. Believe me when I say this is the best fried chicken you'll find in the Boston area. Hot Chix had been a staple for my boyfriend and me since they were exclusively a pop-up operation. The chicken is just so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Highly recommend ordering a side of coleslaw or fries, but MOST IMPORTANTLY get banana pudding for dessert! It is magical.
