Awesome place! Got a flat tire on landing and the whole place was extremely helpful. Super convenient to access Mammoth Mountain.

Cute as pie for such a iddy biddy teeny weenie airport. TSA is awesome there. No rushing since…read morethe checkpoint is just about 3 yards away from security. Large screen TV (unfortunately only is on ESPN) so the free wifi saves the day. The view from the gate area is spectacular. It's almost mesmerizing to see Mammoth Mountain and the ski runs from one side and Mt. Morrison facing out towards the runway. It's free site seeing. Who knew? lol Anyway, everyone there is friendly. They have a new waiting area tent beside the terminal since there's more space over there, a bathroom and free wifi as well. Inside is some food, things to purchase to remember Mammoth (T's, Sweatshirts, Post cards, stickers etc) If you aren't sure of the flight time to go through security, there is a PA announcement that an be heard both inside and out. Just be sure not to wait last to show up or last minute to go through security. There is no excuse to be late if you're sitting outside or in the waiting area. The airlines close down before the flights begins boarding. No excuses and no exceptions. You wouldn't do that at a place like O'Hare or Newark. Show up late and it's your problem. 2 hours early for big airports..I would say 1 hour before boarding time at Mammoth. Always Always check your bags in first, then you can go outside or whatever. If you miss your flight..you are S.O.L until the next day. Winter time has a couple of flight options from flight to and from LAX and that's with Horizion. United has some flights as well (Winter only) but they differ in location day to day so be sure not to screw up. Summertime last 3 years has only been 1 flight with Horizon to and from LAX. Don't miss any. Keep in mind your in the Sierra Nevadas and even though you might show up early, the winds and other variables can make a plane cancel its flight. Don't verbally beat the employees with an assault of potty mouth when mother nature does her thing. That's the price you pay for going to a location like this one. Have a plan B and C for travel arrangements. Good luck!

It's a mighty short runway so when the reverse thrusters kick in be prepared to be pinned to your seat. Unfortunately Horizon only flies turbo props into MMH which, I'm pretty sure, along with standing too close to speakers at shows in my youth are contributing to my hearing loss. It's a quaint little terminal. Baggage claim consists of a person driving a little truck 20 feet from the plane and basically handing you your stuff. It took many years and more than a few legal battles to get commercial air service to Mammoth. I hope the bighorn sheep aren't too bothered by the occasional flight, 'cause this Portland resident is glad to be spared the hellish 14 hour drive in favor of two quick flights.

Avoid This Circus: Predatory, Hostile, and Trashy…read more I'd give zero stars if I could. I booked a one-way trip from the airport to Mammoth Mountain Inn with "Scotty," who was clearly too busy juggling three other conversations to do his job properly. Despite his distractions, I explicitly reaffirmed the $100 rate and my destination before hanging up. The real "professionalism" started ten minutes into the ride. Scotty called the driver to arbitrarily hike the price to $140. When I objected to being scammed, he actually told the driver to either leave me stranded or dump me at the Village--miles from my actual destination. But wait, it gets classier. Another ten minutes later, Scotty calls the driver's cell (thinking he's off the radio) and says, "Go ahead and take him to the Inn since he's being a little b****" Little did he know, I heard every word. Scotty is the definition of a "tough guy" behind a phone screen--disrespectful, immature, and fundamentally unprofessional. This isn't just a bottom-tier taxi service; it's a predatory vendor that makes the entire local community look like a joke. I've already filed a formal claim with the airport and the city regarding their "partnership" with this hostile operation. I won't stop escalating until I get a formal apology. If you value your money or your dignity, call literally anyone else.

A year later 2026, the new B gates have open to the right of TSA with an escalator taking you up like a stairway to heaven. What's upstairs? Two gates, restrooms, a large waiting area, and Amigos FAT restaurant with basic coffee offerings. What else was new was no more ticketing to enter paid overnight parking. I entered from the parking garage and I meandered around to find a spot. The parking garage was completely full, but I found a closer spot so we're good. When I came back from my trip I remembered not ever getting a ticket. So when I got in line, I noticed two huge screens are now installed at the toll booths. When I got to the booth, the attendant asked if I paid online. I didn't know this was an option. What I noticed on the huge screens was my total & a barcode. The attendant took my payment instead and confirmed how many days and hours I was parked. I asked how did she know that, she stated the system scans/tracks my license plate once I entered the parking lot. Fresno is moving with the times adapting this latest technology. No more tickets. Somehow it's more miserable inside than outside today -- and at least outside there's a breeze. I have never sweated this much just sitting in an airport. Fresno, you can do better. The excuse that "someone has to go on the roof to adjust the temperature" might be one of the weakest explanations I've ever heard. I'm not sure who thought anyone would actually believe that, but here we are. Maybe the next upgrade should be making the terminal comfortable enough for passengers to exist in it without needing a towel.
