I've been hesitant to leave a review, but my experience had been SO bad-- it's haunted me not to do so. I've lived in Crestview for about a year and have always been curious about this place. My husband and I arrived and all of the employees were sitting outside smoking cigarettes (no biggie). One employee noticeably wearing a 'F$&k 46' hat on-- again, no biggie. Upon entering we notice a pungent smell of old grease/ oil. We order some hot dogs and fries TO-GO. The women working to put our meals together engage in conversation with one another; As this is a small establishment, my husband and I could hear every word. The woman wearing the lovely hat blurts out "The French are nothing but snail sucking F@GG0T$". It hurts me to even write those words. My husband and I were appalled, looking at each other with our eyes wide open. We get home and I immediately have to change my clothing because it STINKS of oil. Now.. about the food (if that's what you want to call it) The hot dogs tasted like school lunch, fries were soggy and tasted freezer burnt DRENCHED in oil and inedible. Well of course I wasn't going to expect it to be anything as Portillo's but my gosh they could've had a bigger dog and sport peppers as they say in their description not two tiny sad jalapeño slices. I ordered a regular hotdog and another with kraut. The buns were perfectly steamed and the hotdogs had that perfect little snap to them. I also ordered the fries and had them topped with chili and cheese. The fries were served hot and tasted amazing. The owner and his staff are very approachable and friendly and will talk to you about whatever comes to mind. They will also just smile and let you enjoy you food and not say a word. I'm from South Jersey, I got a hotdog with kraut and mustard and it made me feel like I was back at home on the beach. The fries were really good too, fresh. Every time I get melted cheese on my hot dog, it isnt so pleasant. I rather have the shredded cheese. I'll ask next time. I also had the buffalo fries with feta. The buffalo sauce was salty. If he came up with a loaded buffalo fries with actual pieces of buffalo chicken, feta cheese, green onion and a ranch homemade dressing as option, cut the salt from the sauce, it would be great! I also ate the philly cheese steak. It blew my mind that you have to pay extra for toppings that should comes on the philly. It was edible. It wasn't a legit Philly. The Decour is simple with symbols of America's heroes in the military on the wall. the menu is clean and easy to understand the hotdogs are fresh the fries are fresh cut.
