So, I go to several Hot Head locations between work (Vandalia) and home ( Indiana). I love it. It's a great brand. That said, this location in Vandalia has got to be some of the stingiest owners ever. Pineapples are extra. I get if I want more of anything (rice, meat, etc). The portions seem small, but I get full anyway. My only complaint is standard toppings are extra. No other location has ever told me the pineapples are extra.... Insane. I still love the place, but I doubt I eat any pork bowls here, will stick to a spicy steak or something and save the pineapple for another location. So just be careful going here, your choices may be up-charges. I will give them the place is usually friendly and clean, too. I'll go back. read more

I have not had hothead in years and I decided to stop in tonight and try it and it was the best decision. Everyone at this location was very nice and polite. The food was hot and fresh. The chips were amazing. The location was clean. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone. read more

I love Hot Head, as a driver I have been to many locations. Never had a bad meal... until now. This is the worst. Out of half the ingredients, put taco SAUCE (like you would put on top of the taco) on my bowl instead of the seasoning (sauce). I've went to Hot Heat since the first location in Huber and have always been a fan. I have moved to Vandalia and this location mixes the ingredients of your burrito into a sludge before they wrap it up. You can't taste the difference between any of the ingredients because it's like it went through a blender. In the past you could take a bite and taste the chicken, pico, sauce, cheese and tell what was in it. Now it's just a glob of trash. After I left the Vandalia location I called Tipp City, Troy, Piqua, Englewood and Huber. Huber was the only other location that said they mix the ingredient up before wrapping. read more

Disclaimer: This review isn't about the food, since I can't comment on it because I didn't eat it. I was on my way to Dayton airport, and I stopped here for the first time. As soon as I opened the door I noticed an unpleasant odor. The smell was so strong that it didn't even smell like a restaurant, I couldn't smell any food aroma at all, just an overpowering bad odor. It smelled like a restroom with a backed up toilet. I even walked all the way to the back, to the women's restroom, which was clean. Actually the restroom smelled better than the rest of the restaurant. I can't speak for the men's room. There was only one other customer in the restaurant and he was getting an takeoff order. Anyway, I didn't order food because the overpowering smell was anything but appetizing. Too bad, because I really wanted to try this place. I would give just one star but I am allowing two stars on the chance that this bad smell was a fluke. I can't imagine that I would ever return but would be open to giving another Hothead location a try. read more

This is one of the better locations if Hot Head Burritos. I've been to the one in Englewood and that one was terrible. This one mostly gets it right and it's in a convenient location. Spicy steak burrito bowl is my go- to and don't forget the hot head sauce! read more

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes I go there and my burrito ends up being pretty hefty and other times, like yesterday, I pay 7 dollars for a small one. Consistency at places like this is key. The question that keeps popping into my head is, are the managers given an incentive to keep food cost low? AKA if we give people small burritos with less ingredients I might get a bigger bonus.. Who knows... This may go down as one of the great conspiracy theories of our time. All I know is that I wish they were more generous with their portions. On another note. My review is bad but their average is worse than what I'm giving. Perhaps they should consider actually learning from their reviews and make changes instead of relying on their branding and the fact that they are part of a chain to survive. The food here is great; a rather impressive rendition of Chipotle's business model. The only thing keeping this rating from being a full 5 stars is the manager (black button-up, heavyset, shoulder-length wavy hair, glasses.) She will bark at you in a rushed, abrasive, and piercing tone that is noticeably off-putting to every customer within 5 feet of her. Luckily, her poor customer service skills haven't rubbed off on her relatively quiet subordinates, although it may just be that they're too frightened to make sudden movements around her and trigger an episode. First time hot headers. We had a buy one get one free coupon so we decided to forgo chipotle to trial something news we both got burrito bowels with steak. The rice was plentiful. The bean situation was sparse. It's like they were out, but didn't tell us. So we got about 10 beans per burrito bowl. Apparently the veggies are extra??? The steak was tender and well seasoned. There were a lot of sauces but not a lot of toppings. I was skeptical about the hothead sauce but I got it on the side and it was surprisingly okay and spicy. Better containers than chipotle. I've lived less than a mile away from this magnificent restaurant ever since it was built. Yes, it is a small part of a long chain of well to do restaurants, but this congenial restaurant has an unknown element inside of it that makes it one of the best Hot Head Burritos in Ohio. When it was first being built, I was in 5th grade and I wasn't expecting a grand change to this section of National Road, but I was wrong. This amazing restaurant has changed this line of stores and shops around it greatly. It's hard to imagine living without this Hot Head location. When you walk in, you will be kindly asked what you would like to have, the most common order is the regular burrito. When you ask for a burrito, they will place a wrap in a heater, and let the extremely succulent circle of dough moisten and glimmer with steam. The Hot Head Chef will then kindly ask if you want rice, he/she will then place the rice delicately on the steamy dough. You have the choice between black or pinto beans, but this restaurant does not limit you to this or that, it allows you to browse an array of choices. Let your temptations fly, pick and choose whatever you want, pinto, corn, pork, beef, jalapeño, etc. Go to this heavenly place to liberate your tastebuds, let them fly. Free them, let them explore the wild forest of pleasure and luxury. Let them dance with the rice, beans, and tender meat. Let them bathe in the exquisite mild, yet exhilarating Hot Head sauce. Let them journey the the peak of satisfaction. This restaurant has superior service and has changed over the years to become the best place to eat in this part of the town. While this place certainly lacked the proper standards of a quality restaurant a while ago, possible new additions/removals to the staff and/or policy implementation in the recent months have most definitely improved the overall hygiene and atmosphere of the dining room, with the staff's friendly and polite personalities allow me to smile and feel at home. The food has also drastically improved, which is possibly due to the change of the workers' nature at this franchise, outwardly showing their appreciation for their costumers and seemingly willing to cater to their needs. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This location is not my favorite. I have been here many many times and the portions keep getting worse. So disappointed. I won't be going back....I'm done. They are afraid to give u more than a fucking tablespoon of each item. Not just once but SEVERAL times and last 3 visits really sucked. Dont go....wasting ur money...I gave it one last chance today.... didn't even fill up my cup for pico.....I am also a local business and I make sure I tell my customers that they are better off going somewhere else.
