I have gone back and I want to give an update. My last review in 2019 was after they moved location. Now they have been in this location through the Pandemic. The Service is much better, they have a home town feel. The breakfast is good and a nice portion. I enjoy the welcoming and warm feeling. Even though its been hard with finding help post pandemic, they have a great crew and do a wonderful job. Not letting the global events affect their customers service. This business has definitely made great improvements and are doing amazingly well and customers service is fantastic. read more

Stopped in to the Hot Rod Diner for lunch. The name made the place sound good but the reviews brought me in. Unfortunately, the menu changed from one online so they didn't have a steak sandwich anymore but I found a French Dip with fries. It was good though au jus was really salty-even for me. The BLT was also really good. Service was good and ambiance was cute. I would go back again if I was in the area. read more

Good food and service! Good vibe but could use a bit more speed and a carpet cleaning but it was still fantastic.

The food was absolutely amazing. I had the California Omelette it came with Hash Browns and a side of Toast, I also added a side of bacon, I could of added the bacon to the omelette but that always makes the bacon mushy. The omelette was perfectly cooked and the vegetables weren't gross or soggy like I've had at other local establishments and there I paid $10.00 more. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast and he was very happy, both breakfasts had huge portions we were very full when we left. The best part is we ate for less than $35.00. The wait staff are very friendly and very polite, they made us feel very welcome. The restaurant is on the smaller side so seating is limited but things move quickly. Amazing family owned diner! Food is always tasty, extremely affordable and too much to eat, which is never a bad thing. And where can you get a piece of homemade pie for $2 a slice. The crust is amazing! This family cares about their customers beyond just serving them in their diner. They check on their elderly & their customers that are medically fragile. Many times providing food that they take the time to deliver at no cost. They do this quietly & privately. Sometimes service can be long or maybe out of order but the most contributory factors are: at times they are the only sit down restaurant open, they help special needs people a chance to work and they prepare their food fresh! I went one time & I'll probably never go again. The service was horrible. They weren't wearing gloves or hair nets & I got 2 hairs in my food & told the lady that was working & she rolled her eyes at me & said to deal with it. They could use some work on hiring good servers. read more

Great prices for a homestyle meal. And their breakfast meals are literally on platters. It's no 5 star but it's a very great place.

I called in an order. After order made, I Asked for an estimated time, she couldn't tell me and changed subject. About Twenty-Five or so minutes from call, I asked to sit inside to wait w my young neice, (we had a few minutes to wait and we were sitting in the car for about 10 or so in the 80 degree weather...she looked at the 6 tables and said " No, could you wait in your car." I asked if she could check on my order, and could let me know how much longer, I also asked a time frame over phone and she interrupted, cut me off, and said we will call you when it's ready. Walked back to pay, wanted to ask for water but was not happy w treatment w both servers. I also asked the man who called me while I was in parking lot, and I asked for 2 sauces for my fries and he wrote on ticket $2.00 each yikes $4dollars added to my (2) $12 sandwich for a 4 small containers total for ranch and goop on a to go order. I kindly said no thank you. Also Watch when your over charged folks. Sorry no tip today. All and all I do recommend their great tasting Philly. Customer Service made this a 3 star. Sorry. We just moved into the area and found this little place close to our new home. We have eaten here twice now. They are doing something that you just don't see any more, cooking from scratch. The hamburgers are made with real, unfrozen, hand made from fresh beef and are dressed the old fashioned way you just don't see much of anymore. Now if they could just do away with the commercial beard, they would really, really be over the top, hands down. Just yummy. Like a blast from the past. Not at all pleased with our first (and last) visit. Four of us went to try it out. The food took forever to get and when it finally arrived all four meals were cold and on top of that, 2 of the 4 orders were way wrong. The waitress was nice enough - when we saw her. Never came back again during the meal to refill coffees. When I posted this review on a more local thread, I received two very vulgar and threatening emails from the owner. I like supporting local places owned by locals, but this outfit won't see another dime from any of us. read more

I don't know what cafe those other people were at but I know from experience if something is not right on your order they will make it right. No problem! We've been here four or five times now and it's a great place to eat! Service is great, people are friendly, prices are incredibly cheap for the quality and portions of meal. I decided to add to my review of Hotrod Cafe. I have been eating there sense they opened and was real reluctant at first because the last two times a dinner opened in that spot they sucked but HotRod Cafe is just about the only place we eat anymore. I've read all the reviews and I'm not sure what restaurant the people who did give this place a higher rating was eating at but it wasn't this one the only thing wrong with Hotrod Cafe is I eat too much when we go there so we started splitting the meals that way my wife can take home a piece of pie. read more

Seriously terrible service. Stood there for over 40 minutes for a two meal to go order far past breakfast time and the staff was overly rude and did not offer any help. If I had not already paid, I would have walked out and NEVER walk back in. Must be nice to be able to pick and choose who you serve. The food that was actually cooked here was good. Their frozen garbage is just that garbage. Waitress was very friendly and down to earth. The biggest negative was the guy in the hat staring all the time. He either works here or owns it. Some manners could be learned for an older gentleman. Very off putting. We asked to substitute frozen fries for a baked potato and was charged another dollar. More specifically I ordered a double mushroom bacon burger. NO onions and NO tomatoes. Halfway through I pulled a piece of tomato the size of a quarter right out. 6/29/2019 My first trip to hot rod cafee, The place had one waitress and a cashier. trying to handle the place, The place seemed to have a nice atmosphere, but the shelfs , fish tanks.. a huge black shelf and booths seats absolute filthy. the waitress brought out a big bowl of Lemons for my water and told me to take one out with my hands. that is what they use for all customers and i told her that is not the way to do it. FLYS all over the place and i happen to kinda look around the place and Didnt see their health card posted. anyway over the Dead fly in my booth i was told to get the fuck out and He also said i am not wanted in his rest. over me making a coment to the waitress. she came back and picked them up out of the booth the boss called me a piect of fucking trash. and leave now.. really Irate. extremely I said i am reporting him to the health dept and he said go ahead . His sister works for them .. so nothing would happen.. I would not trust this place I will never go back.. worse part i am new to Oregon and he said absolutely Get the fuck out and go back to where u came from u piece of trash we dont want you .. meaning me and you kind here. I see some of the folks saying it is a good place to eat. takes over 30 min to an hour to get your food and the place is filthy just like the owner's mouth. Very sad. read more

I thought they were very good. The food hot and fresh. Service was good. We came for lunch. Kids meals only $5. We had a chili burger and my husband had a green chili burger. It was large and I shared with my daughter. Good steak fries! Enjoy! read more

Best food in Myrtle Creek in my opinion, especially considering the price. service was quick and polite.

The outside is nasty in the back. The grease trap hasn't been cleaned in over a year, there is wood and nails and rocks all over. The place does not care if your dishes you eat off of are clean or not. I know, I was the dishwasher for a day and I got yelled at for changing nasty greasy dishwater. He also told me that they didn't care if the dishes were clean or not. read more

I ordered a sprite and it tasted funny. So i asked the 2 other people in my group to try it and they said yeah somethings wrong with it. So i gave my drink back to an employee and told them i didnt want it and to bring me water please. We finished our food which wasnt that great, i had cod and it was so cripsy on the outside amd mushy on the inside that's what i get for ordering frozeb fish i guess. We went to pay and i forgot to tell her to take off the soda i didnt drink. The blonde hair lady said, hmm well are you on medication? I said um no, all the others at the table said it tasted bad too. She goes hmm thats weird and gave me the 2 dollars back. Then my boyfriend confornts the server and asked if she asked if i was on medicatiin. She straight up denied what she said and blamed it on the new employee red head lady who was very nice. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast. We asked our waitress if we could order just one pancake with our meal and she said that their so called cook wouldn't prepare just one. We choose something else with pancakes instead. Turns out they were not good at all. When I paid out ticket our waitress asked how everything thing was, I answered truthfully and told her the pancakes were very Bland. Another waitress overheard my comment became upset and said that she would get the boss man so I could tell him. Turns out their so-called boss man was the cook. He came out of the kitchen cursing at me the asked me how the hell you could make a pancake not taste Bland. I told him apparently he wasn't much of a cook. He started hollering about being a chef for 42 years. I was told to get out and never come back. As I walked out the door in front of all the customers he repeatedly called me a moron. The moral of the story is if you dine at this Cafe don't say anything negative about their food because they will kick you out and ask you to never come back. This clown clearly had a case of little man syndrome. read more
