We enjoy our visits to Johnny's. It's hit and miss on the friendliness of the servers. But the food has been consistent and a good value. Our favorite thing is their chicken strips. There have been a couple times we saw some not so clean things happen in the back. But it doesn't seem to be a regular occurrence. I also have truly enjoyed their French dip. And my hubby likes the Heath Razzle. read more

We've been to Johnny's Drive-In a couple times. Once eating inside and once in the car. It's a popular place so sometimes it's hard to get a spot The Pontiac cheeseburgers are pretty good. I spied on someone's fish sandwich which looked really good. I've had the French dip. It was ok but bread is toasted with what tasted like margarine. That overshadowed the beef flavor making it weird. I really liked the pastrami with Swiss on a French roll. It's not what I think of for pastrami but it worked. The fries are crinkled-which aren't usually my fav kind but these are really good. They are crispy outside and soft inside with good flavor. The best thing of Johnny's is they have car hops who come out to take your order and bring your order on a tray that hangs on your window...sort of. Car windows today are curved so the tray tilts down at a scary angle making you grab the fries to make sure they don't fall. read more

Food was amazing, we loved the sweet drinks, price is reasonable. We loved the manner and attitude, they are so polite. I also love the way they don't put salts on all your food and give you extra salts & peppers (catch-ups as well) in the bag that you can add on or leave alone. If you are nearby, please stop by and give a try. If you are done with wild animal experience, please do stop by after an acoustic day, it would be a treat for you. Tonight I stopped by Johnny's on my way home. Parked & waited about 10 minutes & watched the staff go to other cars for orders. Walked by mine about 3 or 4 times without acknowledging me. Got out went up to the order window and told them I had been waiting & wanted to place my order. Order was for a Rueben sandwich & tater tots to go. Paid & went back & waited for approximately 20 minutes for my order. Just arrived home & my sandwich is okay but my tots looked like someone mashed them together in a lump. Greasy too. Service was not their normal I've had & the food was not up to their usual. Not sure if I'll go back anytime soon read more

Ordered fish and fries and the fries must have been the bottom of the bag. Not a fry over 1 1/2 inches. Worst fries ever. Small and over cooked. Hard and skinny. Had a camero burger and onion rings. This spot is such a gem. I wish I had come here more during my vacation in Winston. The foods is very affordable and the quality is great. I am obsessed with soft serve ice cream, so to get to be able to choose from 50 flavors of it was a dream come true. I ordered a Cadillac burger without thinking very much about how big it might be. It was a BIG juicy burger and only 11$! (Where I'm from they charge much more for a good burger). I had a side of onion rings, ice cream and bought my friend a meal as well. I was delighted at how affordable and tasty this place is. The food and atmosphere totally stays true to the old school burger drive in experience. 01/23/22 2:00pm *Semi-Recommended* (only for food unless you like to be disrespected by employees) The family and I were talking outside of LOVE'S parking lot, about where we wanted to eat and a stranger highly recommended this place, saying that once you eat a burger from here you'd never want to eat another one anywhere else.... We came to this place with High Expectations of great food and wonderful service. We got the great food but would have tasted so much better if we did not have to wait 15 minutes after (TREY) sat us down saying: *someone will be right out to take your order* No server to come out to take our order with no one in the restaurant but us (15 minutes). Someone came in after us, and they got to order first and get their food before we even got to place our first order. *Mind you. We heard in the back much laughing and chatting from the employees*  Mom went to go to the front and ask why no server came out yet. *HUGE STRIKE ONE* Soon after (JEAN) came out and said sorry about the wait and took our order, she then went to the back to make our shakes, when she came back not being very careful as she placed the shakes on the table dropping one *OH Sorry* she said and walked off. **STRIKE TWO** (CORRY) one of the lady employees walked out to give an order to a car looked at my mom and gave a dirty look. *To my understanding its because my mother told them *To much chatting not enough service* ***STRIKE THREE*** Thats when I took it into my own hands and asked (CORRY) for the manager. Which she gave me a dumb founded look and said *Oookay while rolling her eyes* When the manager came out, I asked her 2 questions: 1st Question: How valuable is your time? Kims answer: Very valuable she said. 2nd Question: Do you consider your time money? Kims answer: Yes I do. I said: OK so do I, my TIME is precious to me and me wasting 15 minutes of my time waiting to have my order taken as someone came in after us getting to order first and getting their food first is a HUGE WASTE of my precious time. I told her I was very displeased of the service, the food was great but the service was an absolute mess. So I asked her one more question, I wanted the employees names so I can post a review, and her response was this: ***Is that fair to teenagers that are just learning upon how to do this type of work?* This tells me that you are hindering them upon actually learning the true value of a career. Whatever habits they pick up here is going to travel with them for the rest of their lives. So to answer your question: YES, it is very fair to have their names posted here they will now get to learn that with certain actions comes Consequences. All employees actions reflect upon the managers/owners they work under. Kim told me they have only been working there for 3 - 4 weeks to 3 - 4 months 1 week of training under the right person should only take 3 days tops. Manager: Kim, yes you came out and took care of this situation but the service you provided us was much less than top notch. I want to thank you for taking care of the bill for the inconvenience but *I don't come to a place for free products* Personally I would rather have good food and WONDERFUL SERVICE more than a free meal* Servers: MUCH TRAINING NEEDED: Jean: You could use more training upon being more observant of your surroundings and understanding the menu on how to describe the products that are being sold. Also if you do not know the answer to any type of question it is better to say to the customers *I do not know but I could go ask someone, is that okay?* then go ask a veteran of the restaurant, when serving customers it is also very important that you are handling the products with much needed care. Corry: When making eye contact with customers it is always good and safe to smile whenever your eyes meet theirs, its to help the customers not perceive or think your glaring at them, also even if a customer points out the obvious of what needs top priority. Some times it is always best to allow the customers to help train us in places we do not see. Keep an open mind upon what is truly happening to help you improve in many aspects. Tray: You have a great smile and a wonderful personality, but what needs more work is the work place communication not personal communication. Communication is key to running a top notch career and or business when the communication is used in the correct manner. To all Eployees: This is not about who is wrong and who is right, taking all this personally before, during and after the fact means the training that is very much needed is **LEAVE ALL PERSONAL LIFE SITUATIONS AT THE DOOR** before anyone starts work. I have 14+ years customer service 8+ years Managerial 11+ years fast food, host and server experiences I know what I'm talking about when I say much training is needed. read more

Love the cheese curds and fried green beans. Hamburgers are delicious and filling and servers were super nice.

I am not sure who is giving this place above two stars. This is one of the worst burger joints I have ever eaten in. Jack in the box has higher ratings. The food either came out of a can or freezer box. I had a stomach ache for over four hours. Pass this one up as it will save you from harm. read more

This is the place to go after Wild Life Safari. First off, 5 stars is probably too many. I would realistically give 4, but decided on 5 because these places seem to be a vanishing breed....being run over by generic franchises where real estate, and franchise psychology, trump the actual burger. There are too many burger drive-ins and diners made to look retro but charge a lousy price. Johnnys is the real deal. 50 flavors of milk shakes. I love In-n-Out not only because it's fresh, but they expand slowly and keep their prices low. But when you discover a place like Johnnys, who cares if it's all frozen. Fast food served in the traditional plastic basket with red and white checkered paper. My burger was delicious. You won't find anything like this within 50 miles of Eugene that's over-run by generic brew pubs and $19 "gourmet" burgers including 8 "steak fries" and a sliced pickle. Johnnys prices were excellent. Best of all, you don't have to ask for the optional napkin, optional straw even though straws are killing everything, optional ketchup, fry sauce, or even salt packets for the fries! They included it all. The service? They are real people, and our waitress even had a personality! These are not kids programmed to up-sell the franchise menu by super-sizing, or making you feel cheap because you have to ask if the tomato costs extra. The numbers next to the food items are the prices, not the calories. If you are so worried about calories, drive to Eugene. We paid with Visa, and there was no portable guilt-tipping visa device like Square, where you have to slide left to find "no tip." This mid-20th Century drive inn still has car service and looks much like it did some 60 years ago; the model car collection is most likely newer. My lb. deluxe hamburger was very good and the large bun held all the ingredients. The crinkle-cut fries were. golden-brown and not greasy. What a gem in Winston! We came here after went to the Wildlife Safari. My daughters had a hamburger and corn dog kids meals with bubblegum milkshakes. I had the mini van, three little burgers with a special sauce and a pickle. Soft yummy buns, amazing beef, and a thousand island dressing sauce that reminds me of In and Out and a pickle. YUM! I had a creme de menthe milkshake but it wasn't very minty to my liking. But I drank it anyway because it was good. I'm sure we will be back a couple more times this summer. read more
