This place is way out of expectations and what was the originally intended to be - dim lights, ironed tablecloth cloths with multiple utensils served for each customer. The service was pleasant, and seem like a little disoriented. Our server served one of our five guests with the soup and two others kept on waiting for the same crab bisque, that came out as giant entry, and slightly plain in flavor, although had a plenty of crab in the bowl. Halibut was a little on the dryer side, and please be careful with the beets salad as it was enormously giant with goat cheese dressing that felt like a jar of mayo dumped on the pound of red and yellow layers of beets enough to feed a couple. Lamb chops, special was done nice however at the price of $70 it didn't feel like special at all. A cool thing was a little moving bar that kept going between the tables and serving alcohol beverages to the guests. Same moving bar had the desserts proposals on, which were also well oversized. In conclusion, if you have another option for dinner, go with that instead. read more

The good: Service staff was amazing. Very friendly, prompt, attentive, and eager to answer questions. The interior was clean, well appointed, and had the feel of a high end steakhouse. The unsuccessful: The food. There's no way to sugar coat it. The sides were bland and unremarkable. And the steaks (we ordered three for the table) were overcooked and under seasoned. Even the desserts were just average. Absent some of the other reviews, I could chalk this up to an isolated poor experience. Their prices are high end but their food is not and neither is the atmosphere. Let's start with the seating, not cozy or relaxing at all, just a table and some chairs in a huge room, way too much light and noise. (I heard that they added booths since my last visit, so nice that they listened to their customers.) It feels more like a cafeteria or banquet room. Even Longhorns has comfy semiprivate booths and you don't feel like you are sitting in the middle of a walkway. The background noise level just seems heightened in my opinion. That same feeling you get when there is static on the radio, not easy to have a romantic dinner. The food is shrinkflation. Shrimp cocktail and scallops price went up, portions are smaller. We ordered filet mignon, medium rare, but it was served well done, cold, and with a texture unrelated to beef. It was so cold that the truffle butter we ordered, for an additional $10 each, didn't melt at all. (The truffle butter was served cold as well). We left more than half of our food on our plate as it was cold and inedible. Way overpriced and poor atmosphere. The only highlight was the server was great. read more

We come to Kbar often and have always had a great experience, the waitstaff is always very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This last week we visited and sat at the bar the bartender is extremely rude and talks down to you, she talks about being a alcoholic but can't make a good drink your better off having a server make your drink if you want it to come out right and taiste good. I did not get the chance to take pictures as I was at a business dinner with my CEO and it was the first time meeting him so I didn't want to bring my phone out. Our server was nice, but absolutely no pep in his step. His body language, facial expressions and mannerisms seemed like he was nervous, his facial expressions look like he was about to tell us bad news. Every time he came to the table. LOL. We were seated, and he took our drink orders, after that he did not come back for a long time. I did see him helping the tables around us, so I know he was busy, but not even a glance over with acknowledgment. He finally came to the table and asked us if we were ready, but seemingly suggested we need more time. I jumped at the opportunity and said we are ready to order. Three of the five of us ordered, medium rare, New York strip. One was very rare. One was more on the well-done side and one was medium well but had no char on the outside. How that can happen is beyond me. Mashed potatoes had no flavor. Ahi tuna, wonton taco appetizer, $16, and when I opened up taco, there was barely any Ahi. I read the reviews before I went, but still like to make my own judgment call, and my boss made the reservation, so I had no say. There are very slim pickings in that area. Sadly, I was very disappointed, and I cannot confidently recommend giving this restaurant a try. When you're paying a decent amount for a steak, there needs to be confidence in the cooking temperatures and possibly double checked by someone that is headed the kitchen prior to sending to tables. Really wanted to like this place, but coming from a fine dining career, they were lacking in one too many ways. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sweet hostess and our waters were filled with immediacy, our server greeted us with a smile, everything seemed great--until we ordered the stuffed mushrooms that were nothing like described on the menu, more like a meatball that tasted like a bad burger. I felt bad, but sent them back; luckily the oysters were delicious! I ordered the New York strip medium rare, waited over thirty minutes with no check-ins from the waiter, only for my steak to come out medium to medium well and very tough. I told the server after waiting way too long, only for him to not come back to the table after just telling me "I'll take care of that" (no taking steak of table and offering replacement, just left us and never came back). I sat there with my basically hamburger and a skimpy potato for over ten minutes until a busser showed concern and I just wanted it off my check at this point. Our server had eyed us and ignored our concerns more than a few times throughout our meal--Sad when a server makes their coworkers do their job, not a fun feeling. Man I love this place! It is a hidden gem for Oregon steakhouses tucked away in the Seven Feathers casino. Been here a half dozen times or so over the years and always delicious. The staff is super friendly...from the hostesses to the servers to the bartenders...always pleasant. And the food is good! I guess the tribe owns its own farm along the Rogue River and sources a lot of the menu...usually have the beef filet which is super flavorful...and the sides are also good. I went to Seven Feathers with my wife and our friends to watch the Niners/Cowboys game. We were planning on having a few beers and grabbing something easy from Stix sports bar, but there were no clean tables to sit at. We decided to check out K-Bar instead. We walked in and were escorted to the seating area, which is away from the chaos of the casino. This made for a nice, quiet dinner experience. We were seated at the table and the waitress took our drink orders and let us know about the special. The waitress and servers were all great and very attentive. Our drinks were delivered along side two different kinds of fresh bread (Italian herb, and cheese) and soft butter. All of us ended up getting the special which was a short rib with red wine demi glaze, garlic mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots. The meal also came with a salad. I recommend the house salad with ranch. The ranch dressing is made at the restaurant and is great, especially with the truffle fries. Now the best part. The short ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. The red wine demi glaze was amazing. It sat on a generous portion of delicious garlic mashed potatoes. Even the roasted carrots were good, and I'm not a fan of carrots. Overall, for not expecting to have dinner at a steakhouse, I'm so glad we did. We made reservations here early in the day, and drove 45 minutes to eat here. Upon arriving, our table was still occupied so we had to wait. The entrance was nice, tables were set with a fresh cloth, empty water glasses, a small plate and silverware. We were seated directly in front of the restroom entrance. When the server did arrive for our drink/appetizer order she was friendly, but it would have been nice to have somebody at least bring water as we were seated. The menu was pretty limited but we were given ample time to review it. The appetizer, bread and salads came out about the same time. The appetizer, blue cheese and bacon brussel sprouts were undercooked and cold. There was very little smudges of blue cheese and seemed to be more of an afterthought. Needless to say, we didnt finish it. The salad appeared fresh, but left a lot to the imagination. I dont know where to start on the entrees. Not only did it take a rediculous amount of time to get our order, out of 4 plates, not one of us enjoyed the meal or could even get halfway through it. The chicken in the curry pasta was obviously precooked, prepacked and microwaved slices of chewy meat. The "thai curry" was way too sweet. The wild rice on 2 plates were not cooked the same, but were both al dente. The steak was clearly "seasoned" with salt, because thats the only flavor it had. The elk was dry and bland even though it was meant to be medium rare, and the demi-glaze had formed into a blob that dried to the plate. The duckfat brussel sprouts that it came with were extremely bland as well, and even though I asked for a baked potato I had to ask for the toppings as it was just a plain potato. The fact that we went into thus place with high expectations because of a variety of things- the other reviews on different platforms, the fact that each plate cost close to $50, the lovely ambiance... only to be met with extreme disappointment, was extremely frustrating. We came to celebrate 2 birthdays and instead left with disgusting food and a large bill. read more

We had dinner last Sunday evening. The restaurant furnishings are very nice and we were looking forward to a dinner that was worth the prices listed. Our server was cordial, but as the evening went on, he became aloof and would rather be somewhere else than serving us, a party of 6. Ordered drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The dish came out looking great, but the sprouts were not fully cooked and were tough and bland. The wife had the double pork chop special. Again, it looked great... but was not fully cooked. Lots of pink in the first cut. Other dishes were ok, except the mashed potatoes on one plate were cold when served. This is a tough business. If charging premium prices the food better not just look good, it better taste great! I'm not wanting more of this - probably won't be back. read more

I don't eat much red meat but I'm glad I did last weekend at K-Bar Steak House. Living on the coast of Oregon our town doesn't have a steakhouse so we had to try this one. My friend and I split the NY steak. It had to be the BEST NY steak I've ever remember having. It cut like butter and it was so tender, I almost ate the entire piece of meat and pairing it with Rombauer Zinfandel wine was fabulous . We were going to a show at 7 feathers and there is a lack of good steak places in Eugene so we tried k-bar and it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic and so was the food. Rarely do I see porterhouse steaks around here so we got that and a 2 additional sides. Couldn't have been better and the desserts were wonderful as well. A great place to have Thanksgiving day buffet brunch! My family made a reservation at 11am for thanksgiving day buffet and seated right away! It was about $40 pp and it was so worth it! They had a variety of food selection from turkey, slow-Roasted prime rib, slow-Baked Cured Ham, smoked salmon, jamon and cheese, cocktail shrimp, grilled mussels and salmons and lovely desserts! My favorites were smoked salmon, roasted pork which was so flavorful and juicy, cocktail shrimp, prime rib and desserts! Everything was so good but their smoked salmon was just perfect! It went perfectly with cream cheese and capers! It was just perfectly smoked, soft and so flavorful! I had 10 of those just by myself! They had a great selection of desserts as well mostly pumpkin based but it was pretty good! I loved their bread puddings and pecan pies! BARGAIN BRUNCH We took the family (including 3 grandchildren) here for Brunch. Price was good, but they were so very nice putting up with fussy little ones and everyone went away happy. We really took a long time and it was especially nice that we never felt rushed. I particularly like the appetizer room and everyone else goes for the dessert. The service was amazing, the ambiance was beautiful; however, we were unaware of the prices of all the meals being so high between $34-$70 and had no way of knowing before hand as it was right across from a cafe selling $2 ice cream cones and a restaurant with prices around $10. There was no menu outside to notify us, so to the restaurant, I would have to recommend making the prices known via online or an exterior posted menu. We ordered calamari and salads, the calamari was poorly made and the salads were very bland. We ordered a Caesar salad and it was closer to a oiled and lightly peppered Greek salad, it was also impractical as we had to cut our own salad, though, it was lovely in appearance. Overall, from the other reviews I believe it is rather overpriced. However as I said at the beginning, the ambience and service was marvelous. read more

Well we met every hostess and server before they could figure out how to seat us (with a reservation) god help you poor schmucks without a reservation on a Saturday night!!! Because it will take them a record amount of time to get your beverages and hang on if you ordered dinner!! So that being said we ordered a duck confit salad and a rib eye dinner something. So all their meals come with a side salad, veg and I think a starch. Well thank goodness because they are very proud of their sub par meats and sides. The hubby ate about half and took the rest in a to go box which he threw away right outside the restaurant. Oh and that was a $30 ish steak. My duck confit salad was all cold and probably frozen because the duck was flavorless and stringy so sent it back but by the time the replacement arrived the hubby was done. So hmm they did replace a bad meal... and removed it from the bill. good job, but that's not the point ... I went for dinner which I still did not enjoy!! But guys lower your expectations and the restaurant should do the same!! A $46 steak at this spot is WAY over their pay grade!! This is an elevated sizzler. With better bread and no salad bar. For my experience I would have to give them 5 stars. K- Bar surely satisfied my craving for a good steak and the atmosphere and service I experienced only added to the dining experience. I took a work colleague to K-Bar while on a recent business trip to Canyonville and I think both of us can agree that this was a fantastic meal. They have a nice selection of locally crafted wines that should please your palate and we had a Pinot noir from the Umpquah Valley that I thought was spectacular. The fresh garden salad and a really good blue cheese dressing was a nice start. They also have some great breads that they serve as well, both too were very good. My colleague had the filet while I went straight for the Ribeye. I can tell you this, I probably could have cut my steak with a fork as it literally cut like butter. Tender, juicy and full of flavor If your in the Southern Oregon area or traveling the I-5, this would be a good place to consider. read more
