An easy pick-me-up place while strolling through the neighboring stores. Iced blackberry lavender white mocha was not too sweet. Little chocolate topper was a cute addition to the drink. It's sister and I's first time at Pulsbo we came here at Hot Shors Java for coffee. I got a Mocha White/Chocolate mix and my sister got a Pumpkin Spice I think. Had the pleasantry of visiting on a Sunday morning before going crabbing on a boat. I needed some caffeine to get me through the day. I ordered a Valkyrie (nitro cold brew with Sweet Cream) I asked for it with some added ice (I like my coffees ice cold!) and a little extra vanilla (I also like it super sweet!) the Cashier looked at me like I was a little crazy, because Nitros are already cold, and the sweet cream already makes it sweet, but hey! I like what I like. And getting it the way I ordered made it just right for me. The line went quick and received my order in a timely manner. I also appreciated the tiny piece of chocolate included on top of my coffee! read more

I have only gone in a handful of time but the coffee is always good and the staff is always friendly. If you are local or visiting I would recommend stopping in! I'm set in my coffee order but they have fun seasonal drinks too if you want to try something different. read more

Hot Shots Java is a coffee shop on the main drag in Poulsbo, Wa. The have a nice selection of coffee drinks and serve tea and ice cream. I ordered the Americano with room and it was fantastic! They also offer a small selection of breakfast bagels/pastries but I had already had breakfast so I'll have to try them next time. The coffee spot has plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, and the staff were friendly and customer service focused. Great little coffee shop! read more

Fantastic coffee shop on Front Street, right across the street from Sluys Bakery (and you're going to need a couple shots of something if you're planning on standing in line at the bakery in the morning!). The dark chocolate "nib" (for lack of a better word) that accompanied both of our drinks was a nice touch, and blended (melted) pleasantly into my double espresso. Friendly service, plenty of space and seating, and they have ice cream as well, for those hot summer months! A pity they don't serve affogato, though, since they have all the necessary ingredients! Salads and wraps are also available, in addition to pastries and other baked goods, in case you decided against the wait at Sluys (honestly, though, they should just get their baked goods from across the street!). read more

Another wonderful weather day in Poulsbo begins with a Toffee Nut latte and a great sausage, egg, and cheese muffin. This Front street coffee stop continues to be my favorite. I thought about breakfast elsewhere but the coffee and comfy in and outdoor seating brought me back. The staff are really friendly and even when extremely busy greet you warmly and get your order out quickly. The coffee is theirs but the food is brought in but tasty. I stopped by this place after going to Sluys Bakery because it's literally across the street and honestly offers a bathroom (lol) and the bakery did not. So at the bakery's recommendation, I stopped by and ordered a mocha. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied because it was so delicious. The drink tasted like it had quality ingredients which I think is was sets them apart from the typical coffee shop you see on every other block. They also give you a small chocolate on the lid of the drink which is a nice touch. The barista was super friendly and welcoming of me also. I really enjoyed sitting at a table and drinking my coffee because the vibe was laid back. I hope to come back soon when I'm in the area! read more

We arrived at five minutes before their Monday 5:00 pm closing time and half expected to be turned away but the barista was very welcoming and friendly. In fact, another patron came in at 4:59 pm he was still entertained warmly. I got a decaf iced dark mocha with no whip and loved it. The drink came with a complimentary chocolate stick. Hot Shots Java... A hidden gem among all the hustle and bustle of downtown Poulsbo, WA. Hot Shots Java has a wide variety of snack/pastries, wraps, coffee, and even ice cream! The prices are decently set making item quality, quantity, and affordability spot on. The food/drink items for sale are not anything extravagant but considering the convenience of location it is the best and almost only option. The interior is clean, organized, and calm. There is ample seating space but due to CDC Covid-19 restrictions seating is spaced apart. There are both small tables for smaller groups/couples and a larger more lounge'y area towards the back of the business. Masks are required to enter and are expected to remain on unless enjoying the purchased food/drinks. Patrons have the option of enjoying their purchased goods with both interior and exterior seating. There is little to no existence of parking spots exclusive to this coffee shop. If you are lucky then you might score a (parallel) parking spot on the main street or can park in the back parking lot where most downtown customers/patrons of the area park. Service is friendly and helpful. Clerks are patient and assist patrons with answers to questions with a smile. If you are looking for a coffee shop in Poulsbo there are better options but Hot Shots Java is in the heart of downtown Poulsbo you cannot go wrong. read more

The days the boss is there it's really good coffee. Today was not one of those days. I waited in line the girls that took my order was friendly. Then I waited 15 minutes or so for my tall latte, usually much quicker service. Plus, my coffee is bitter. I'm glad it's only a tall. I spent the money so now I guess I still going to drink it. I don't have the money to buy two coffees in one day. I bummed that I didn't have a better experience and first time visitors may not stop by again. I observed that other customers were talking about the slow service. Hot Shot Java I use to recommend you, but I don't think I will anymore . read more

Hot shots Java here after HSJ, is a sweet little coffee shop right along the main strip, in downtown Poulsbo. What makes them so unique is that they are right across the street from Sluys bakery. There's always a long line of people waiting to get into Sluys bakery, and hardly ever a line at HSJ. That means I can grab a cup of coffee and a donut, or a bagel and cream cheese, or one of their fancy sandwiches without having to wait in a long line. I have frequented HSJ many times over the past two years, and have yet to have had a bad experience. The coffee is always hot their baked goods are delicious and you can hear the whipped cream begging for mercy! I strongly recommend that you visit Sluy's Bakery next tome you're in Poulsbo so that you don't make me have to stand in line at HSJ! read more

July 2013 We were surprised at their enticing and refreshing selection. The prices for different treats were reasonable. Quality of the drinks we ordered were simply scrumptious! This place has excellent coffee! Coming here on rainy days in the winter or just a summer day walking through Poulsbo is perfection. It's a great place to do work or homework. There's free wireless! Not only are the drinks perfectly made the women who work in this establishment are super sweet. I love trying new coffee places and it being WA, home of coffee this place is a must. I had an iced mocha coffee 20oz with half white & half dark chocolate, at first I thought it was going to be a bit too sweet but the 3 shots of espresso complimented the syrups. If you want a place to chill and drink coffee as well as have a small treat like ice cream or baked goods this is the place to go. Visiting Washington state this week just outside Seattle. Sightseeing in a quaint little Viking town called Poulsbo and the first stop was of course, for a fresh coffee from Hot Shots Java. As someone who loves her Java, I have to hand it to this place as probably the 'worlds best cup of coffee' -- in the words of Elf 'Congratulations! You did it!!' Stop for a variety of hot or cold made to order drink options, friendly staff and WiFi or board games and books for those of us that kick it old world. They also have ice cream and top of your coffee with a chocolate covered coffee bean. After enjoying this cup of wonderful I'll be buzzing through the rest of this town on high speed!! read more

Hot shots java has always been a wonderful place for me. I lived right downtown and could always count on hot shots as a meeting place, a social hangout and a place to get a great spiced chai. I moved to California in late April and have been on the hunt ever since for a place half a good. What I would give to find a way to have my grande spiced chai from hot shots java again!!! read more

This is a great little coffee shop downtown Poulsbo right across the street from Sluy's Bakery. We always stop here when we are downtown window shopping or taking a walk on the boardwalk. The staff are always super friendly and they have a wide assortment of drinks and flavorings. They also sell ice cream if that is your thing. I love to get a cherry almond latte here and enjoy it with a pastry from Sluy's. I've tried all of the little coffee shops downtown and I think this one is my favorite. Stop by when downtown for a warm drink to help you navigate the rainy Poulsbo weather. read more

While not overly impressed, I can appreciate a solid spot with fresh donuts and pastries managing high traffic. Line tends to be long but moves at a moderate speed, as the employees are open to chatting. Large Butterhorn - excessively sweet to a point where I felt sick of sugar because it's also pretty big. I personally would rather eat a fluffy donut because this felt more like a condensed block of sugar, but seems to be a favorite for others. Might just not be for me. Swedish Almond Pastry - while this was also super sweet, the almond flavor was able to pop out at times. Sliced almonds on top helped sprinkle some extra flavor but were ultimately consumed by the sweetness. A little flakier in texture which helped dissociate with the dense sugar block.
