The restaurant was decorated as you would expect a good Cajun restaurant to be decorated in. Service was nice and friendly and you order at the register and they bring your food to you. Service was great even after we got our food. A server asked us if we needed refills and if we wanted them in to-go cups, which scored bonus points with me! Here's what I had on this lunch visit: The crawfish pistollette (8/10) which was a small appetizer that was bread with some crawfish etouffee on top. Bread was nicely cooked and the etouffee on top was delicious. Solid starter! The Cajun Cooking Sampler (9/10) - this was a sampler with 3 amazing dishes. I got the shrimp and crab gumbo, which is classic Louisiana gumbo and it was outstanding! The sampler also had a bowl of crawfish etouffee which was good but felt it needed a bit more etoufee to mix with the rice. Lastly, the special of the day was fish courtbouillon which was a fish in tomato based sauce over rice. I really enjoyed this as the fish has a great texture and there was a lot of flavor in the sauce. Overall, solid lunch meal in the $ to $$ range depending on what you order. Recommend you trying it for a great Cajun experience!

From the direction we drove in from it looks like a tiny parking lot with 10 spaces. Someone was pulling out so we got front row parking. There is a MASSIVE parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. Saturday Night 6:07- party of 2. The order and seating process is unusual. Place your order at the counter and they tell you which area to sit in. We were eating at 6:17. That's unreal. Alligator bites ($13) Shrimp tacos ($10) and Shrimp w/ crab gumbo. ($10) 2x miller lite ($7) dinner for 2- $45 Everything was absolutely amazing. I've read reviews where the people complained that the food was bland. And other people complained that the foods were too salty. I have zero complaints. We were completely satisfied. Thanks to Apple Maps and Yelp for helping us make this decision. We were only in for a wedding and wanted a unique experience that was local- not a chain.

My dad was an avid fisherman and shrimper and I've probably eaten more seafood and fish in my life than most. This little market is clean, it smells clean and it appears spotless which is one of the utmost important parts of preparing and selling fresh seafood and fish. It's crawfish season and I couldn't be happier to be in Louisiana this time of the year, I came here the first time during my visit for 100 lbs of live crawfish and some fresh jumbo Gulf Shrimp. Let me tell you folks if you've never participated in a fresh crawfish boil it should be on your bucket list. We caught this delectable mud-bugs as a kid and always looked forward to catching enough to have a boil but going out to a local restaurant or bar that featured these boils was okay as well but nothing compares to doing it yourself. Well over the years the art of boiling hundreds of pounds of live crawfish became the norm, I'd put my son's skill set against anyone and he definitely has the set-up to do it right. The attached photos will show there's a lot more to it than simply boiling water, it really is an art - the perfect blend of seasonings, the perfect temperature and contact tine also known in these parts as "soak time". Add in lots of corn on the cob, red potatoes, onions and mushrooms and it's magical of course the key ingredients is always lots of family and friends. This place provided Grade A Crawfish when it comes to the size and quality, lots of places offer live crawfish this time of the year but I'm sold on this place. My second visit here was less focused I was preparing to go back to Florida and although crawfish was still in the forefront of my thinking I knew I'd never travel with an ice chest of live crawfish and in my neck of the woods freezing whole crawfish is not ever an option so I was looking for fresh clean tail meat frozen for use at a later date (mainly crawfish étouffée) but maybe I could get creative and make some crawfish boudin, jambalaya or a fresh stuffing for a nice redfish or snapper I'll figure it out. I am sure I'll be visiting this place as much as I can in the future, the friendly staff was very accommodating and being I have family in the area, shipping it from here to Florida isn't that big of a deal, it's impossible to cook traditional Louisiana cuisine without fresh ingredients from Louisiana so I'm fortunate that way. This place is a little out of the way but well worth the drive if anywhere in the Lake Charles area...

The atmosphere in the restaurant and the food had me feeling all the nostalgic vibes of growing up eating my maw-maw's good down home cooking. The whole staff was kind and welcoming, our waitress was ShaDay and she was so kind and attentive. You can tell the staff all genuinely care about the quality of their food and their customers' experiences at their restaurant. The food was phenomenal and worth every penny. My husband had the fried pork chop breakfast which also came with cheesy grits, country potatoes, a biscuit and diner's choice eggs; he chose over easy eggs. Every single thing on his plate had great flavor! We taste tested each other's plates, and we both agreed that there wasn't a single bite that left us disappointed. I felt my soul leave my body when I dipped a piece of that homemade biscuit in the owner's homemade strawberry jam! ShaDay told us that the owner makes all the jams herself and rotates the flavors out periodically. The owner deserves an award for those jams because my husband licked those little ramekins clean; it was that good. I'm grateful ShaDay brought us another jam too, so I could also enjoy the jam with my food; that's how quick he finished off his jam. I had the F Biscuit which was just as flavorful and delicious. The F Biscuit is a breakfast sandwich where they dip the biscuits in French toast batter then grill it before putting the sandwich altogether with fried eggs, cheese, bourbon bacon onion jam, and a sausage link (or substitute for chicken, which I did and it was a great choice.) Every bite was flavorful, and the jam was also an out of this world enhancement to the French toast biscuit as well. Biscuits & Jamz is a 5-star experience all the way around, from the staff, to the food, to the environment, to the pricing. The prices were very fair for the portions of food you get while still being very affordable. Don't walk. RUNNNNN to Biscuits & Jamz! You won't be disappointed!
