I arrived at 7:51 and was immediately stopped at the door and was told it was closed . The store doesn't close till 8 . It obviously wasn't closed when four other customers were inside and doors unlocked . I get you want to get ready to close but the way the manger (Cindy ) went about it was ridiculously rude . Went next door to GameStop as I usually do after I visit hot topic and the manger said that most people say she rude as hell the closer it gets to closing time . This is probably my favorite location. Not overly crowded and always fully stocked. I've had a few great experiences here in regards to customer service so they deserve a great review and a pat on the back for having awesome employees. I've had employees assist me by looking in their back stock to see if certain things were available when they tell me they're sold out and I've been successful every time. They always greet you when coming in and are super attentive and welcoming. With the pandemic going on, I can see how they might feel stressed and frustrated, but so far they've all been sweethearts. Unsatisfactory treatment. Two girls who were just standing there in front of the cash register who appeared to be clocked-in were chatting and I asked for help and they just stood there with an idiotic face. Took them a couple minutes to acknowledge to let me know that they're not clocked in. If you're not clocked in why even be on the floor or be having your lunch outside where customer can ask you questions. As for you manager with the septum. You could treat people with more respect. 1. You didn't give me the hot cash I was suppose to get for spending the money I spent. 2. You making excuses for your employees shouldn't be a thing if they're clearly not following hot topic protocols. I was once an employee here and I can't believe you just let them eat and do whatever they want out on top of the register. That's why you use your break room. Do better. Also, your job isn't that serious and would it kill your to be nicer to kids? You were handing out candy and would expect them to say "trick or treat". Its a hot topic out let. EVERYTHING is very cheap as far as hot topics go. Sales are frequent, sizes can be hit or miss. But they move stock fast. Great place to shop for the holidays and get a lot of people off your list. They also have a large record selection which is kinda cool. Staff is nice and generally bilingual. Absolutely love this store! It's far as hell and literally 10 steps from Mexico, but it's so worth it. This place gets a lot of unsold merchandise from other stores, so it's pretty easy to find rare items if you take the time to look through the racks for a little while. I came here last night and walked out with $50 worth of stuff; 3 WWE shirts, 1 ICP shirt, and 2 Funko figures. All those items at a regular store would be close to $200. The staff was really helpful and went out of their way to help me out with finding shirts in the style/size that I needed. Cannot say enough good things about this place. First of all, before going to any stores, make sure you go online first and see if they have sales or even coupons. But knowing that this is in an Outlet Mall, their prices are not that bad. Just that when we went here, we didn't really find a lot of things that we usually see in other Hot Topic Stores like Plaza Bonita or Horton Plaza. Knowing that it is in an Outlet Mall, I was expecting that there will be more items that are on sale and even in a very cheap price since it is in an Outlet Mall. But if you are just walking around the Outlet Mall, might as well pass by this store and see if you want anything and see some stuff that might suit your taste and liking. Love this store, everything is cheap, it's so close to home, and there are always great deals! Over 4 years ago I used to dislike this store because of bad employees, but of course they left considering it was so long ago. So now, the employees are awesome! They are always helpful and welcoming. Out of all the Hot Topics in San Diego, this one has the best customer service. If you're shopping at Las Americas you should definitely come here. Absolutely fantastic customer service. I was here on Black Friday (I'm just now finding time for my review). My experience here left an impression on me as this was the only pleasant experience I had that day. The manager, Rebecca, is very professional and easy going and you can tell she works hard for her store. Employee Ed was also a big help in the store among other employees (like the cute girl in the Santa clause outfit who's name I forgot, sorry, and the guy that helped me out with my shirts). Most of all, the music was OUTSTANDING! First of all their audio is very clear, second of all the music was clean and appropriate, and third they have magnificent taste in music with a wide range of music genres. This is by far the coolest Hot Topic I've been to, and I've been to all of them in southern San Diego.
