I had a hard time reaching out for a quote as they are the only doughboy dealer for my area and have some sort of a monopoly which is really bad for doughboy pools business. Dan came out to my house and provided a quote. He was courteous and patiently answered my questions.When I finally received a quote on the pool package and wanted to add more items, customize the package etc I could not get hold of the owner. I wanted to move forward with a 14-15k contract for purchase and installation but could not move forward. After leaving some voicemails and some calls, I simply gave up contacting and purchased the package from another provider at a cheaper price who threw in a lot of things, luckily for me. I still wanted to give business to them for installation but unfortunately they only install what they sell. They dont install doughboy pools if you buy online from other distributors at a cheaper price. It did not work for me unfortunately due to pricing and availability. But I wish them best of luck, and also to their customers who might reach out.

He charged me $120 for the estimate alone, which seemed ridiculous, but providing I was going to do a repair with him I went for it. However, the moment I had simple questions about the numbers (like why some replacement equipment prices are 20% quoted higher than from other suppliers), he did not bother to answer except of keeping replying "my estimate is fair, feel free to get other ones" and "feel free to buy it yourself", which was not neither respectful not considered for the time and money I spent to simply get the estimate from him. Wasted time and money, do not recommend.

I was recommended to SKH Spas & Hot Tubz by a colleague of mine. I never knew Steve (still have not…read moremet) but was able to talk over the phone. We talked on Thursday, next day Friday Steve shows up onsite free of charge to inspect the job and provided a quote same day. The price was inline and competitive with other repair companies but the thing that really impressed me was he wanted to use and source the exact same model so the configurations and piping remained the same, it would be a simple drop and replace with the heater, where the competition wanted to dig out, get a different brand of heater, which drove the costs up. The very next Monday Steve was able to replace the gas heater with the exact same model as the previous, and within a couple hours the heater was working and like his business card promised, "I'll get you into hot water." If you're sitting in COLD water, I'd recommend Steve to get you back in your HOT tub. Message me for any questions, happy to help.

I wish I could select no stars…read more -Timeliness. If they can drag something out, they will. I had multiple appointments canceled for nonsensical reasons. They told me multiple times that they weren't coming out due to rain, even though the forecast didn't call for any. So when the day came and Surprise, it wasn't raining, they called saying they had a flat tire or something trivial. Let's be real. They didn't want to come out and found an excuse. Being the "only pool service that AHS uses" they should have more than one company car. The real reason is that they just didn't want to honor their agreement. -Professionalism- I have never met a more unprofessional person than Dale. The entire time I talked to him, on multiple occasions, he would talk over me and talk down to me. I have owned and operated pools for decades and his take on the situation seemed fraudulent. He always spoke to me as if I were an ignorant child. He proposed false and inappropriate appraisals of the situation. Dale tried to tell me, that barely anything was going to be covered by my plan and I would need to pay substantially out of pocket. To be honest, it sounded like he was intoxicated on a few occasions. He seemed so desperate to get parts ordered. It seemed like a ploy, as having this company order parts would lock me into service with them. I adamantly told him that I didn't want him to do anything without my consent first. Horrible customer service. -Problem Resolution - There was none! A simple pool pump repair turned into a nightmare with American Pool and Spa. They would have dragged this request on for Months! I was better off finding my own local and reliable pool guy. What a joke. Do yourself and your pool a favor and choose ANYONE else for pool service and repair. I got several quotes and Mark from A @ L Pool won me over. He recommended to return the pool pump and saved me so much money. He did an inspection and saw I wasn't getting enough voltage to my pump which was causing me an increased PG@E monthly bill and now I have a perfect pump with the right enough pool suction.
