I mis-read the company here and thought Pacific Coast Sauna and Spa did that. While I was writing down the number to call their office (the number list here is for the owner's cell), he called me back. I was incredibly impressed by the conversation. There was zero attempt to sell me something I didn't need AND he coached me for things to consider in the future...even telling me how to expertly do what they do. Update 2.5 years later: Hot Tub motor crapped out so I gave them a call to have someone come out and repair. Lady over the phone gave me a price and said someone would reach to schedule. Someone called me the next day saying we no longer service your area and can't help you even though it's out of warranty by 4 months and they were the ones I bought from. Basically told me to kick rocks. Per my previous review: Don't buy. Owners a crook. I bought my Marquis Epic Spa from Pacific Sauna and Spa 15 years ago and I greatly enjoy the evening soaks. Ryan Stein and his team have provided outstanding customer support throughout. Last week, when it was time to replace the bromine cartridge, the plastic handle broke (it was an original piece) and I couldn't get the old bromine cartridge out. I called the showroom in a panic worried that the water would go bad -- and I wouldn't be allowed to replace the water during the drought! Maddy Stein got right on the matter -- together with Ryan they arranged to get the repair team out the very next day. Since they didn't have the part on hand and they didn't want to take a chance for me to wait for one, they sent the team out with a part from a new showroom model. I recognized the head of the repair team when they arrived as he has been working with Ryan for a long time (a great sign......). They assessed and repaired the issue in 20 min! Crises averted and for just a nominal fee! I was so very relieved and grateful that the team was able to replace the broken part and I was able to save my water....... My Marquis Epic has been a terrific spa for so many years and it has required only minimum maintenance. But, when I need service I know that Ryan, Maddie, and Pacific Coast Sauna & Spa are there to support me and keep my Marquis spa running great. He was swerving and when I drove up, I saw a middle aged Caucasian man just laughing and looking very careless. I thought it was a one time situation due to looking at the GPS, but he wasn't looking at anything other than the road. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. You will get overcharged, spend thousands on faulty work, and receive no warranty or follow-up when the problem emerges again in a matter of weeks. We had a leaky hot tub and hired Pacific Coast for repair work based on positive online reviews. Ryan Stein came out, spent less than 10 minutes and decided that we needed to replace our pumps. We paid them $1800 for the work. Now, 2 months later, the tub is leaking again. Pacific would not come out to fix the mess they left behind. Why? Because we disputed the labor charge on the initial invoice. We got grossly overcharged, but it just so happens that we have outdoor cameras which recorded actual time spent. We managed to negotiate $400 off and settled the payment within a day. To be clear, we still ended up paying more than we should, but life's too short right? Now, because of the negotiation, Pacific won't stand behind their work and leaves us a mess to deal with on our own, despite getting paid $1800 to fix the problem only 2 months ago. No warranty, nothing. Shameless. -- UPDATE to Owner's Response: Ryan, you are lying. I paid for full 6 hours of labor, which is more than the time your crew spent working on my tub, including moving and draining. I have outdoor cameras to prove this. But you wanted me to pay for the additional round trip between SF and San Mateo for your crew to pick up the second pump, because they only brought one in the beginning. Now, you examined the tub and diagnosed the problem several days prior to your crew's arrival. Why did your crew bring only 1 instead of 2 pumps? Is this a tactic for you to overcharge your customers? Or is it because you barely spent 5 mins looking at the tub and missed the issue when you came out the first time, even though you billed for the full hour? Tell me, why should a customer pay for your own mistake, either in diagnosing or bringing adequate equipments? Irresponsible and dishonest! read more

I'm just starting my research before buying a hot tub, so I had a lot of questions when I came in to the showroom and no matter how many questions I threw at Allison she had an answer for me right off the top of her head. She was very familiar with all the different models from the different brands (she could even rattle off dimensions of various models) and she walked me through the differences between the brands and tiers. I left feeling much more informed and having a good idea of which specific model of tub I want. I can't recommend Allison highly enough - she was extremely helpful. read more

I purchased both a sauna and a spa from Ryan mid-way through the pandemic in June.  I bought from Ryan because he was the most knowledgable person of the three I talked to on El Camino Real where there are three companies bunched together. One guy didn't give me the time of day, because I must have looked like a non-buyer in my sweats and workout gear.  The other guy was nice enough, but he didn't even have unit set up on their floor with water that you could dip your hand into.    Ryan knew what the hell he was talking about and simply walked me through every feature--and even let me come down and sit in the hot tub for 30 minutes before I made my decision.   When I ordered the hot tub he informed me that because of the pandemic, there was a huge delay and back log because the manufacturer was shut down.  He thought he could get me into an October delivery but he would have to check with the manufacturer.  It turns out that mine would not be built until mid-December and offered me a refund if that was too long to wait.   That was cool with me since I needed to build the concrete pad to place it on, line up an electrician and couple of guys to dig the trench, and find, order, and build a gazebo to place it under.  With as busy as contractors are right now, the wait was no problem.    As Ryan pointed out,  because of the pandemic the manufacturer was not only shut down, but the so were the companies that built the parts.  Making matters worse, every body and their brother now want a hot tub for their own home--so the backlog was huge.  The manufacturer was only letting him order so many units per month. I was, however, fortunate to grab the last sauna he had in his warehouse.   His crew came to install it  quickly soon after I had the concrete pad installed.   Now I read a lot service problems on this site but when my low voltage lights had a problem they sent a guy out to replace them as soon as they came in from the factory.   I went in to see him the other day to tell him how much I loved my sauna.   By the way, the guys who came out to built the sauna are top notch good guys.  The know what they are doing. (I can say they because I watched them build the whole thing!) Now I can't wait for my hot tub to arrive and I hoping I will get it sometime in December, hopefully by the end of the year.  But I know with everything going on, it will arrive when it's ready. I'm just happy that my concrete pad is in and the gazebo is up and I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my hot tub. read more

I know I'm not supposed to trust a salesperson, but the owner Ryan seems genuine, honest, and upfront. I remember learning in my business class: "Best way to sell something; don't sell anything. Earn the awareness, respect, and trust of those who might buy." This seems to be the philosophy that Ryan embraces. On my end, I did trust, and then verified by communicating with multiple dealers in the area. My takeaway: Ryan's customer service was by far the best. Ryan patiently talked to my partner and me about hot tubs. As a first-time hot tub owner, I feel like I'm in good hands. Ryan definitely was the most knowledgeable about hot tubs; a couple dealers I talked to couldn't answer my semi-basic questions about the hot tubs they sell. My most negative interaction was with the dealer of a different store: As soon as I tried to negotiate, his tone changed and he just kept saying, "We don't need to match. We don't need to match." He then added that his service speaks for itself, so he doesn't care about his competitors and he doesn't need to price-match them. After communicating with other dealers, I promptly ran back to Ryan and told him that if nothing else, his attitude and personality are appreciated and helped to sell the hot tub. Searching for and purchasing a high-quality hot tub during the COVID-19 pandemic has not been easy: many showrooms and dealers are closed, and stock has been scarce - even for lower-quality "value" hot tubs at warehouse clubs like Costco. Fortunately, Ryan of Pacific Coast Sauna & Spa really made things as simple as possible. Obviously, I hope my Marquis V94 hot tub will be issue-free. But after talking to Ryan, I feel like if there are problems, I can trust that he'll help me resolve them. With hot tubs being a major purchase that should last many years, I plan to update this review in the future, if only to check-in during its multiple anniversaries to say how happy I have been with the product and service. We had someone else to prepare the electrical and the concrete area but Ryan's team helped us with the install. After 3 months of having the sauna, it has been amazing. To our surprise, our whole family use it, including our little kids. After a long day of work, the sauna melts away our stress and give us the best sleep. They tried to charge me for a warranty replacement. When I called them out, they were shocked that I had done research and said they would get back to me (my top control panel was malfunctioning due to water damaged ) I waited 2 weeks, called them back and they said they were waiting for the part (which was a lie Bc they said the part had come in and were charging me 350 for it) Then they proceeded to tell me that the warranty would not cover it and that I needed to take it up with them. As a first time homeowner with a backyard, I wanted a spa, but I needed a lot of help and guidance. That I live on a hill in a neighborhood in San Francisco only complicated that. Ryan and his team went over and above to explain not just about the perfect spa for me (which it has been), but the larger task of owning one, maintaining one, and delivery and installation (which had to be done by crane). The whole process from custom order, preparation, delivery, and installation was smooth. The hot tub, a Marquis Spirit, did have a malfunctioning touchscreen control. But I texted Ryan, and THAT SAME DAY his team came to my house and replaced it free of charge before I even got home from work. Reasonable price and great service. I ordered a new Marquis Spa from Paul and Ryan this month. They were up front and said that manufacturing was slower due to the pandemic, so I had to wait a bit, but the spa arrived when they said it would and they removed the old spa and installed the new spa within the span of about 4 hours. The installation crew was kind and helpful. They forgot the locking keys but promptly showed up with them the next day. All good! I would definitely recommend going with Paul and Ryan. After the spa was installed there was an issue with the breaker after the spa ran for ten minutes, which was bad from the manufacturer, nothing to do with the spa. Our hot tub arrived last week, the delivery guys were very professional and navigated the tub set up expertly. We got the hot tub connected by our electrician this week and were finally able to use it the night before last. After our second use we noticed the "Micro-Silk" function wasn't really working so we called Ryan who came by a few hours later.
