I had a really good experience. Stephen and Renee were friendly, responsive and helpful. The delivery was done well and they were flexible in helping to find a time that worked for my contractor (even though they were busy and short-staffed at the time). Similarly, the guys who came out to train me and do the initial setup were friendly and cool. There is a bit of a used car vibe in buying a hot tub and I did not love that part but once we got past the "sales pitch" part the service seemed very strong. I've been a loyal Sundance Spa owner since 1999, but my recent experience with a new 2023 model and Paradise Valley Spas has been a massive disappointment. I had the choice between Sundance and Hot Springs, and I chose Sundance based on history. That was a mistake. Recently, the spa's electrical panel failed, which triggered a surge that blew out my dedicated 220 circuits. Despite this being a clear equipment failure on a nearly new spa, both Sundance and Paradise Valley Spas refused to cover the $250 electrical repair bill. For a company to lose a 25-year customer over a nominal $250 fee--after their product caused the damage--is shortsighted and shows a total lack of support for their customers. Buyer Beware: If you are looking for a spa, I would strongly caution you to think twice before buying a Sundance from Paradise Valley Spas. MARIO LOPEZ is the best damned spa repair professional. I hired another company to repair my spa multiple times and always regret and kick myself when I don't remember that Mario is worth the wait. In one short reasonable session, he was able to assess ACCURATELY the condition of the spa, which is 10 years old and recommend an easy and cheap repair that fixed my temperature issue. Just bought my second spa from them. The spa itself is great but too many missteps along the way of getting it: 1) Our original spa was installed two decades ago, as our house was being remodelled. Since then, a gate and a large grove of bamboo impeded the access. They advised a crane. Estimate: about 1/2 the price of the spa itself! I had to come up with the alternative plan of removing our gate and some bamboo; not cheap, but WAY beter than a crane. 2) The original price included a "free" $500 cover lifter, similar to what we had before, but when the crew came to install it they said the new style of the tub made that impossible. I asked for a refund of some sort given that they promised something included in the price that they could not deliver. Got a hard "No". "We had given it for free so we can't give you a break" Seems like bait and switch to me. Certainly poor customer service. read more

Update: After I gave a 1 star review, the customer service team contacted me and set up an appointment. Mario came over today and assessed my machine. He was extremely personable and friendly, and totally knowledgable about my Bullfrog. He was not able to find a problem, and since I restarted it, the lights have been working fine. He suggested monitoring the situation and calling them back if the glitch continues, which we will do. While I still wish Paradise had responded to my emails and not just my bad review, I feel satisfied as to how the situation resolved itself. read more

We have worked with Paradise Valley Spas San Mateo for a year, from design requirements to completed install and installation support, this group has been stellar. The 19DTax Aqua Trainer with the Covana cover are the perfect combination. Our electrician installed the power to the house, and everything works flawlessly right off. Mario is like a wizard who takes on any technology challenge. When the cover had an error that was a new one for this team, he diagnosed and solved on the spot and it works perfectly. The right vendors in this space may be hard to find. It is not trivial to flatten Earth, lay concrete slab, deliver & hoist pool, install Covana cover, and prove it works before departing. Then we build pool decks & house access, have an independent electrician wire the 50w, 40w, and 120 with safe cut-off and intuitive controls and locks... to swim. Having a great product and an experienced team able to deliver it so all the other puzzle pieces can come together is key. Paradise Valley Spas has been excellent throughout. I would never recommend this place to anyone-once you buy the tub, that's all the help you're going to get. Paradise just set for sale, not service. Initial on-site consult great, technician very helpful. However, the cover mechanism broke first use. After weeks, Paradise sent someone out to replace piston, but not the damaged plastic anchor/ hinge. Asked for that to be repaired, and have been waiting since November. In the meantime, the replacement piston broke, damaging the plastic even more. If this is their response to a simple cover assembly, I'm anxious if anything should happen to the tub read more

Beyond impressed with this company and especially Kumi who was the rep I worked with directly. At every interval of the transaction kumi was excessively available, responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. But the real test of PVS and kumi was when I had to cancel our order after paying a deposit due to structural/site issues at our home. No question asked, kumi handled the entire cancellation and refund -- no questions asked, no posturing, no pointing to the contract. We had a pretty good experience with Paradise Valley Spas. Shari Baker, our sales agent, was particularly helpful. Because of COVID times, we didn't go to the store to make our purchase. Shari facilitated it all online and over the phone. As first time hot tub buyers, she took the time to explain all of our options and how the ordering works. She answered dozens of novice questions and gave us lots of advice. Once we finally place our order, she followed up to make sure it got into the system on time. Shit. Tastic. Service. People, heed my warning. The spas are pretty good. But the so-called service that Paradise Valley Spas offers sucks so bad that it takes sucking to a new level of suckitude. It requires that you travel to another dimension of suckiness, so consumed by raw suckage that there's no escape from the suckocity. I don't want to waste a lot of words on these guys, but I can't un-recommend them enough. Here's my two-part story. Part 1: The Serviceman Who Sucked I originally used Paradise Valley Spas' pool technician to clean my spa every week. This is the easiest job in the world. You show up, pour in some chemicals, skim out some leaves, and call it a day. You can do this shit while you listen to music and munch on donuts. And yet the guy who came every week acted as though he was doing me a favor of godly significance when he stopped by for six or seven minutes to do the bare minimum. I complained several times that my spa had a gross odor. His response was always to sigh, roll his eyes and question my complaint. Once, my entire family--even my kids, who will swim in pig shit if you let them--decided that the water was too foul to use, so I complained to Paradise Valley. The technician arrived the next week in defensive mode. He actually told me--and I swear, I'm not making this up--that it was my fault and not his that the spa water had turned. He said I was using it too much. He said I should use it less. Then he told me that he needed to spend 45 minutes cleaning it and that this service was beyond the normal scope of his work. 45 minutes! Really putting in the time. Finally, he took photos of the spa to prove that it was clean, as though he thought I might wait until he departed and then drop my pants and take a shit in the water. Anyway, fired him and discontinued the service, because wow. Seriously, wow. Unprecedented levels of suck. I switched to Phin, a tiny Wi-Fi-enabled doohickey that floats in my spa and tells me when the water needs more chemicals. I then drop chemicals in. It's about one tenth the price of Paradise Valley's service, and it actually works, which is a wonderful bonus! Part 2: The Broken Spa and the More Broken Service About two and a half months ago, I noticed my spa was leaking. Not a lot. But every day, a few inches would dribble out one side of the tub. I called Paradise Valley Spas to let them know and they scheduled a service appointment. Here is the only good thing I will say about their service. The technician who has come out repeatedly to work on it is a true professional. His name is Jody. Everybody else, not so much. He advised me right away that the best course of action would be to fully replace the unit and he called that in to his superiors. Paradise Valley Spas, though, had other plans. They told me to drain the spa myself, which I did. A couple weeks passed by and they scheduled a follow-up appointment to come look at it again. Which they finally did. They then determined that a new part was needed instead. Said part would take a week or so to arrive. More time I couldn't use the spa. Fast forward two and a half months later. My spa still sits on cinderblocks. I don't know when I will be able to use it. Meanwhile, the a-holes who came to disassemble it placed the undercarriage of the unit on my grass and destroyed it. See included pics. I called and explained all of this. Not so much as an apology. A representative for the company begrudgingly said they would offer me a free month of their shitty service, which is about the last thing in the world I would ever want. I would rather self-immolate than work with their pool guy again. So meantime, I wait, and I long for the day when I might again be able to use the spa that I purchased for an exorbitant amount of money. Recently purchased a pre-owned spa from PVS. After doing some research, I felt good about making the purchase of my first spa. After my initial call for info (during SIP), Cheryl spent a good while on the phone with me answering all my rookie spa questions. I then went in to see the tub and asked more questions of a patient, well-informed, professional- Cheryl. Done deal, purchased the spa and set up delivery for the very next day (lucky me)! The spa was delivered as promised the following day. At this point, I am picking out which swimsuit I am going to wear for this momentus occasion. My electrician, who I contracted to upgrade my electric panel for the spa, came back to make the final connection. All connections now done, it was time for the drumroll and turning on of the breaker. We flipped on the breaker and...nothing. No lights, no sound. Not sure what to think about my electrician or PVS now. After doing a little digging and not coming up with much I called Cheryl. At 7:16pm on a Friday. No answer, but she called back at 7:49- Friday night! After explaining the issue, Cheryl said she'd try and make an appointment with one of their technicians for Saturday. Got the call Saturday morning that I should expect Mario that afternoon. Mario arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and well-equipped. He had all the necessary parts to do the job in his handy dandy backpack (and truck). Mario got everything installed and went to hit the breaker. Insert drum roll #2. Lights, action, pumps! Sigh of relief from me. Mario then went on to provide spa 101 class for me, with patience and thoroughness. When doing my research, I read a lot about how important customer service was. I thought it was just a bunch of sales fluff. I know I'm giddy from time in my 101 degree tub in my backyard right now, but Cheryl, Mario and PVS provided a stellar combination of sales and service. Hello, I have owned this unit for just a little over two years and have had nothing but issues. The headrest always keep popping off. I have had to have the control board, the thermostat, water filter housing, main water pump replaced, the top is ruined from just normal California rain, unit developed mold from the leak and they just wipe it with a bleach rag and called it good. The unit is actively leaking and they can not find a repair for it. They have agreed to exchange the unit but at a cost of $650 for a handling fee....... read more

Do not buy a hot tub from Paradise Valley Spas. Terrible experience end to end. We came in at the end of April 2021 and purchased a Bullfrog A7L. We sold ourselves, very little info offered. When contract was drafted, they didn't offer same price as what was advertised in store and it took a call after we left initiated by us to correct the contract. If we hadn't called I'm certain they would have just let it go. Fast forward to August when we were told we should expect our delivery to find out it was pushed out to September and then subsequently October then November... After multiple follow ups (no one ever called us despite us putting down a $3k deposit), we were told a part was out of stock and there was no guarantee when it would be available. We were offered a different part and despite it being a lower overall cost than what we chose, we weren't given a discount because the original was offered "free" with our deal. Annoying but ok... Then after confirming we would go with the alternate, we still had no credible info on what our actual delivery date would be. We came to what was supposed to be our delivery date and still nothing so we continued to follow up to which we were told it wasn't a delivery date it was a shipment date. Great... so we asked if our hot tub shipped and they had no information! A few days later we heard from them and were requested to send pictures of our site. We did immediately and then were told we needed to do an on site evaluation before we could schedule delivery and of course that wasn't available for another 2 weeks. At that point we called to cancel our order and had to talk to the manager, Dean, who offered to come to our house within an hour to do the site eval so we could get our hot tub. We appreciated it but naturally he came with wire instructions in hand because he was more worried about getting the rest of our money than anything else because "delivery could not be confirmed without final payment". What a joke. They had our $3k deposit for 7 months and couldn't confirm a delivery date?? After we finally got our hot tub delivered in early December we had our electrician come out to hook up our hot tub because of course nothing was included with delivery despite the high purchase price only to find out that the hot tub didn't power on. After 2 transferred calls to tech support that went to voicemail and a 3rd call requesting to actually talk to someone instead of being sent to voicemail we were told to check the fuses. Our brand new hot tub had a bad fuse and it was on us to diagnose the problem!! After resolving the bad fuse, we had our hot tub up and running. The Manual was nothing short of terrible with multiple directions on different options and flipping back and forth to figure out what you need to do. No quick start guide. No easy checklist. It's all figure it out yourself. With the amount of money we spent I would have expected red carpet delivery and installation and the bare minimum of a call to follow up to hear if we were satisfied. Don't spend your money with Paradise Valley Spas if you're expecting a premium experience or an easy transition into hot tub ownership. I wish we would have just gone with Costco. read more
