I have a hard time getting a steak exactly as I want it, but tonight I did. The baked potato was still steaming when my plate arrived. We have been to Cattle Bay for lunch and brunch and we're not disappointed. Tonight exceeded our expectations. The service was friendly and professional. The servers seemed to really love their jobs. The first gentleman said yes and would get us set up. Well, a group of 8 walked in while they were clearing a table for us on the patio. When we walked back in, pure confusion erupted. The group of 8 was told they needed to have reservations but they ended up seating them outside. This meant that even though we had arrived first, our spot in que was taken. I told them not to worry about it but my husband went back in to talk to them and see about sitting inside. Our pup could stay in the truck since it was cool enough. They told us no! They said we needed to call ahead next time. Mind you, the restaurant was virtually empty except for two other tables. Still debating if we'll go back to try them again...

So, using DoorDash, I ordered; House Special Fried Rice, Grilled Lemon-Pepper Fish and French Fries. House Special Fried Rice: As someone who loves fried rice, and has had it many, many times, I feel that I know what makes great fried rice. Sadly, theirs ranks neat the bottom. Not only have I never seen a combination plate where everything was separated (see picture), that left a slightly unpleasant aftertaste, which lingered about 2 hours. And, resulted me and throwing out the rest of it. :-( Lemon-Pepper Grilled Catfish: This was a redeeming quality, that was very good. However, the tail end was so thin, as to almost be opaque. And, needless to say, it was dried out. French Fries: While cooked evenly (yay), and reheated very nicely, they were on the bland side. Even after adding salt (a rarity for me), they were just barely okay. How it not been for the two different dipping sauces, they too, would have ended up in the trash. I'm not sure if I will try this place again, or not. However, if I do, I'll definitely get the grilled fish. And, maybe, try their wings (after all, with that name, they should be good, right?).
