Very friendly however, problems getting orders correct. The fish 2 of us had was VERY fishy tasting however, the shrimp was cooked properly and was very good. My order was to have tartar sauce and fries. Got cocktail sauce and never got my fries. After and brief conversation I did get tartar sauce but, after asking for a dipping sauce for the okra and being told I would be charged I let the fries stay in the kitchen in that I didn't want to further diminish the meal for everyone. Will I go back; at these prices probably not! read more

I'll begin with the positive: I love the atmosphere, and the staff was nice. Now I'm going to echo a previous comment. As I was eating my meal, I overheard a staff person tell a customer "he couldn't bring in his water bottle". This customer had purchased a soda from the restaurant. I couldn't understand the reason for not having a water bottle. I often have a water bottle with me, and would have turned around if I was told I couldn't bring it in. On a personal note. I was irritated by a staffer who was in and out the front door. Every 2min, out the door, then back in. I'm just curious if they did not have access to a back door. Now the food. I ordered the Fish and Fries. It was cooked to order, so it came out hot, which was good. I'm not sure what the coating was for the fish, but it tasted like flour and salt, with salt being the dominant taste... way too much salt. I couldn't finish the meal. read more

We stumbled by Benny Pauls atoday while visiting Madison. The service was spectacular, Emily who is the owner, served us, and she was amazing! The food was also really great, we ordered wings, mild and lemon pepper, and they were juicy, crispy, and literally everything you can ask for in a wing. We also got their spicy Asian flavored tenders which tastes amazing as well. Lastly, their funnel cake fries were super tasty, all the foods are made fresh and you can taste it when eating. When I tell you these are in my top 3 greatest wing spots of all time... believe it. The wings are crunchy, hot, tender, and GENEROUSLY sauced. The meat falls right off the bone and the sauce is exquisite. I personally ordered the Hot Lemon Pepper wings, and the sauce was so perfectly balanced on both sides, creating the most delicious wing sauce I've had anywhere. The fries on the side were also fresh, hot, and delicious! It's hard to get both perfect, but Benny Paul's did. In terms of the aura this place leaves behind, it's very retro feeling with its cinematic decor and collectible posters and props laid about. We have been to this restaurant a dozen or more times. We had the most rude service on today''s visit and will not be back. Details: I brought a bottled soda from home (they don't sell the one I drink) and I had done this several times before. My daughter bought a drink with her meal. This was our first visit to Wing Nights at Benny Paul's. As soon as we entered, we were greeted enthusiastically by the young lady behind the counter. She was very friendly and gave us a "tour" of the menu and explained all the wing flavors and sides. They have fried chicken wings & tenders, fish (whiting), and shrimp. There are several combos available. Sides include corn on the cob, celery, onion rings, okra, French fries, and sweet potato Waffle fries. See photos. We ordered chicken wings with the sweet Georgia spice dry rub, fried okra, onion rings, and chicken tenders Everything is cooked to order, with nothing having been frozen! So, it's best to call ahead, but we wanted to check it out in person since it was our first visit. We had to wait about 25 minutes for our food, and we took it home to eat. The dining room is sparkling clean and well lit, with 6 or so 4-top tables and a bar top by the window with another few seats. You can see into the kitchen area, and it was also clean, with cooks wearing masks and hairnets. 98 Health Score!! Yay! There is a single TV in the dining area. Hallelujah, they serve Coca-Cola products! No alcohol. The Food: Chicken wings with sweet Georgia spice rub - these were DELICIOUS!! There is a bit of Honey and then a really tasty spice blend sprinkled on it Chicken Tenders - looked amazing, and my Dad thought these were great. He didn't share. Fried Okra, onion rings, and French fries - pretty good, but I like all of these a bit crispier. Also, probably better eaten on site. Note- a large side order is about 4x the size of the small side order. We ordered a side of their mild wing sauce to try, and it was good, as well. We will definitely be back again!! read more

Found this gem of a place while driving through Madison specifically wanting wings. Drove past it, saw sign with "wings" on it and did a U-turn. Stopped in around 2 o'clock on a Thursday afternoon. Was greeted by a friendly crew in an extremely clean and well put together sit down environment. Got the hot wing combo which were buffalo style and the sauce was absolutely amazing. Look at the picture of the coloring of that sauce. The heat was perfect without going over the edge of too much. My brother had the garlic jalapeño wings and fries and was equally as impressed. The fries are superb, the service is amazing, and the place is impeccably clean and ready for your business. I predict many years of success for this establishment. read more

The food was great, the customer service was outstanding. Upon entering the business, we were greeted by 2 very nice young ladies ,we told them, this was our 1st. Time. Wing Nights did not disappoint! Warm, friendly service in a fun venue. Everything is made to order, so just be prepared for a bit of wait. It's really reasonably priced compared to other wing joints, without skimping on quality. And these wings were BIG- plenty of meat on them, and just the right amount of sauce. The only thing I would tweak would be to make them a little crispier vs soft. But the best surprise of all was the SWEET POTATO FRIES.
