First the food is ok, nothing to brag about. My wife ordered chicken and mixed vegetables which came with the wrong sauce and was bland. So it looks like my dog will be enjoying her meal. I ordered pepper beef which was okay, but it waa mostly onions and liitle beef. The brown sauce was extremely watery. The delivery was fast and courteous. It cost me 30 dollars for food we barely touched. I will not order from here again, I can get much better food at Szechuan Chinese for half the cost. Oh well...lesson learned. read more

I wanted to try a different Chinese place close to my house then going to Killeen. I'm disappointed in the veggie rice. The broccoli tastes nasty. The general tsos chicken was way to hot. I always order it from other Chinese places but this chicken was too hot. I will definitely not return. The money that I spent here would have been better to go to Killeen or Panda Express. I'm just settling into the area and gave this little carryout and dine-in restaurant a try. I really don't care how a place looks as long as the food is delicious. That being said I visited this restaurant to pick up a menu because I was nearby. The inside appears clean and offers a fair amount of seating if you want to eat in. However, I will be not be returning to this restaurant as a result of my experience ordering carryout. That being said a couple days later I ordered carryout. I ordered a large shrimp fried rice, wonton soup and spring rolls. My first issue came when I picked up my order and was provided exactly 4 Duck sauces. I asked for 2 more and was rudely told that each additional packet was 35 cents each?? Really!! The food itself was hot and that was the only good thing about it. The fried rice was not even fried, the wonton's in the wonton soup were very, very doughy and I've included a picture of the "spring rolls." Needless to say the spring rolls did not meet my expectations. I didn't call the restaurant and address my disappointment because of my experience at the time of pickup. I ordered several food items from the menu. I did not check my food before I left ....big mistake. When I got home I discovered items were missing from the combo order and my sesame chicken looked and tasted just like my general tso's chicken. I called and spoke to Tiffany. Tiffany put me on hold and spoke to the packers. Basically Tiffany got back on the phone and assured me that they packed everything. (She implied I was lying) We had words and she did apologize but I still had to go back there. I asked about the sesame chicken and she said they make there's with red sauce so basically just like the generals without red pepper. They also charge an extra 99 cents for fried rice that has no vegetables in it just eggs and whatever else there "special seasoning" is. I asked for a refund for my sesame chicken as the quality was unacceptable. Tiffany said the owner Sam said no because that is the way they make there sesame chicken. Tiffany did apologize and offered to give Sam my name and number whenever he comes in. Don't waste your time with this place. Placed a delivery order for sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour delight. My food arrived earlier than expected, took about 30 minutes, but after I signed for my food and opened up the bag I realized that there was no sweet and sour sauce nor the fried rice that I ordered to be found. I called the store which is about 3 miles from my house and the said that they'll send a driver with the sauce. After 40 minutes of waiting for the sauce I called the restaurant again and they said that they have a driver on the way. When I explained that my food is cold and I'm still waiting for the sauce the manager says they'll give me a 10% discount on my next order. I find this to be completely ridiculous since I spent $35 to eat cold food and then expected to spend more money ordering from the restaurant again. Yesterday, November 15, a friend and I went here to eat. When her food was unsatisfactory, they offered to make her another plate but she would have to pay for both of them. We decided to leave. They told me I had to eat my food and pay for it because I liked my food. They also said that I had put sweet and sour sauce on it so I had to eat it and pay for it repeated until we finally just walked off. I have eaten there many times and was shocked. The delivery person was rude, every item with egg (I.e. Egg drop soup, fried rice) tasted horrible and resulted in food poisoning. We ordered extra extra spicy chicken and even I could eat it! (And I can't stand a lot of pepper in my food) the only good thing about them was their orange chicken but all of the sauce was at the bottom so I ended up with just fried chicken at the top, and soggy overly sauced chicken at the bottom. This was our first time trying this place and we were pretty happy with it. We ordered the Mongolian beef, fried rice, crab Rangoon and shrimp lo mein. My favorite was the Mongolian beef because it wasn't chewy like other places, it was nice an tender. The fried rice was OK, I've had better. The shrimp lo mein and crab Rangoon were pretty good. I can safely say never in 10+ years working in the service industry have I experienced this level of poor customer service first hand. I placed a large delivery order around $50. The food didn't arrive for over an hour and a half. To no shock, it was completely cold. I called the restaurant only to be told if I wanted a refund ( which I didn't, I wanted my order remade) I would need to drive down and hand them the food. After going back and forth I finally asked to speak to the manager to which the staff member replied " I can't give you the manager, because he doesn't speak English so you'll have to speak to me". Finally I just said fine, refund my money. She then told me to pack all the cold food in the bag so she could send a delivery driver to pick it up. So in other words- you can send a driver to pick up inedible food but not replace the order and deliver it? It was beyond weird and there is just no way we will ever go back. Do not get delivery her the supposedly charge you an $8 delivery fee even though not advertised. I ordered two dishes and received only one. They are unscrupulous do not order from them them. Perfect if you enjoy your general tsos chicken to have the consistency of pork rinds. Management likes to pretend they meant to have crunchy Chinese food and refuse to refund the money. I have eaten here twice since they opened. It was delivery too. Both times it was awful. I think the last time we ordered almond chicken, house fried rice, and chicken lo mein. Presentation was horrible but taste was 3/5 just like my review. Portion size was HUGE. This is one thing I was happy with. They filled the entire foam container. Nice! Steamed rice was cooked well, but I've never seen such lifeless fried rice. It looked exactly like the steamed, but different colour. If you close your eyes, you can barely tell which is which. Any amateur at home can make a better fried rice. All-in-all, good portion size makes it an ok value for the high price, but with SO many Asian places in the area, Hot Wok's recipes and presentation could use some rethinking. read more

I have NEVER written a review for ANYTHING before but I cannot let this experience slide. I have NEVER been so disgusted with food in my entire life! I have been literally throwing up with several other food poisoning symptoms since I ingested a few bites of the food that was delivered to my home earlier this afternoon. I immediately called and informed them that this food looked and tasted more than a week old and I would NOT feed this to an animal, let alone serve it to a customer. I had to bag it all up and drive it back for a full refund immediately. The inside smelled similar to a brewery. While the lady who stated that she was the manager, was apologetic and said she would speak to the cooks, this "food" (I can't even call it that with a clean conscience) should have never left their kitchen. I will NEVER order from this place ever again and I would NOT recommend it to anyone! I used to order from this restaurant...until today. I ordered the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. I could see fresh vegetables in my daughters lo mein but my meal had canned vegetables. They even tasted old with the kinda of salty taste from canned vegetables which I despise. I call up and ask about the vegetables and am advised that they don't keep canned vegetables in the kitchen. Then advised that they can re-make my meal if I bring it back (it was delivery and I paid the delivery fee)! They will not swap it though. What difference does swapping it make? If you can't make it fresh in the first place why should i trust that waiting 30 minutes will yield a better result! And what difference should it make if I ask for something new since I no longer trust the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. At that point, I would have settled for something of cheaper value.
