Nothing else was open on Christmas, so we were happy to have found this place! We ordered takeout and got the general tso chicken and Kung Lao chicken combo plates with fried rice and spring rolls, a family size of the egg drop soup and the chicken noodles. All dishes were steaming hot and came in large quantities. The soup was a little too salty for my liking but still good, and the wonton strips were a bit stale but heating them in the microwave helped. The Kung pao was my favorite dish and loved the sauces and quantity of chicken was a lot. The general tso had hints of sweetness but wish i went with a spicier or savory dish instead. The noodles were also pretty good too! The service was great, and I really appreciate how accommodating they were since we didn't eat pork so we got veggie fried rice and spring rolls instead. read more

It's a Chinese takeout joint in the most classic of sense... Ordered by phone and was greeted quite pleasantly, food was ready in about 15-mins, and the pickup was just as friendly and fast. I had the Moo Shoo Pork, my wife had their Sweet and Sour Chicken. We also shared fried Rangoons and an egg roll. All of it made it hot to the house, and with the exception of the fried rice that came with my wife's chicken - all of it was good. My wife felt the rice was bland. I know this location received not so great reviews previously but they are under new ownership. The food is good! It's fresh, hot and actually has flavor! The only thing that I've tried so far that I'm not impressed with is the fried rice that comes with the combos. It's missing veggies and meat although it states it's pork fried rice. The have daily lunch specials that are reasonable along with dinner combination specials. It my new go to quick serve Chinese when I'm having a craving. read more

So far so good! I was looking for Chinese takeout locally, and was surprised to find a few restaurants but few take-outs.. They are not on the main roads but still convenient. The shopping center looks nearly dead which I am sure hurts Hot Wok's business. I was wanting Bourbon Chicken and was about to go to the Chinese Buffet over in front of Target but it was Monday and they are closed on Mondays... SO I looked around and found Hot Wok, drove over and saw their menu and ordered bourbon chicken and then Shrimp and Broccoli as well. I paid the guy and had a seat an in about 15 minutes time he hands me the bag with my grub... One of the egg rolls was consumed before I got home... I wanted Bourbon Chicken when I started the quest and eventually eating the Shrimp and Broccoli first! It was a big meal for me, and quite tasty. I ate the second egg roll with dinner. I need to order more egg rolls.... I plan to have the Bourbon Chicken in a few minutes (I've picked a few pieces off it already) but I'm sure it will be tasty. There is no Chinese food like NYC but I'd say this place comes close. I've never had any complaints about the food. I always get the same two items: shrimp lo mein and crab ragoon. The shrimp lo mein is never greasy and I always have plenty of shrimp. I also love that they mix soy suace in the noodles so they're not dry and it adds more flavor. This woman loves her soy sauce! The crab ragoon is the best I've had. I like it more than most places because of the wontons they use and they have more crabmeat in the mixture. I never like to share them when I get them! I've always gotten great food there and am very disappointed that I had to throw away 28 bucks to find it out ... I called to complain but no excuse was give ... I have been eating there for about 25 years. The food varies from outstanding to just ok. Who knows why. the prices are good. I buy Singapore Mi Fun tofu with vegetables. I got there right around closing time on a thursday night but they were welcoming to me placing an order. We ordered Egg Foo Young and General Tsos chicken. The EFY with perfectly cooked with a nice gravy, the Tsos chicken left something to be desired for. The fried rice is just ok and the egg rolls had a thick grease taste to them. The worst Chinese food I've had. The woman seem a little annoyed that my wife and I was standing there looking at the menu, like we were taking too long to decide (5 minutes). That should have been a sign. The very dirty bathroom should have been another sign. Rice was hard, ribs was dry with a strange taste, General T chicken hard and dry.... Now I am feeling sick. The WORST Chinese I have ever had. Upon walking in, the first bad sign was that the girl behind the counter was wearing the absolutely filthiest, stained, grease spattered shirt I have ever seen. I should've taken that as an omen and left but went ahead and picked up our carryout. The green pepper steak with onions had a watery tasteless beige (not brown) sauce, and the steak appeared and tasted as if boiled. Chicken-and-Shrimp with "vegetables" was buried in big hunks of raw celery, and while the tiny shrimp were identifiable as shrimp, what was supposed to pass for chicken was a brownish bland "mystery meat" that may have been DOG for all you could tell. The mountainous pork fried rice had about 3 pieces of pork, and the egg rolls were stale and tough (not crispy at all) as though cooked hours before and left under a heat lamp. This place has some good reviews so maybe they have their good nights, but I would never get food here again. read more
