We were all visiting from up north and this place was very close. There were eight of us and we ordered about 6 different dishes. We had orange chicken, general TSO chicken, sweet and sour pork, egg drop soup, egg rolls and chicken and broccoli. Our combos came with fried rice or white rice. The egg rolls were crispy and while there was lots of cabbage they were pretty flavorful. We all enjoyed our food, there was lots of chicken in the chicken and broccoli and the sauce was nice, not too salty. The fried items were good sized pieces of meat as opposed to all coating. Amazing orange chicken! When you're craving good, quick Chinese food this is it! Definitely coming back.

I am generally very open to a variety of Chinese food. My expectations are generally moderate when it comes to take out places. However, we were greatly disappointed. First, they put too much MSG. I am reminded by this place that some restaurants abuse MSG which can cause people to feel light-headed, dizzy, or bothered stomach. We got take out once because we were passing through. But I was thoroughly concerned that people who cannot take MSG will get ill afterwards. This restaurant is not one I can recommend. They get 2-stars because the food was somewhat edible, but that is the best I can say. We ordered Lemon Chicken (badly fried & not good lemon sauce), Tofu Homestyle (okay but drowned in MSG), Moo Shu Chicken (never seen it so runny, soggy, and so much sauce). We could not finish the Moo Shu Chicken and had to pitch it. Very rarely do I throw out Chinese food but I had to in this case. read more

When ordering items, you'd expect a certain flavor. The General Tso chicken should have some spice to it. Tonight, it was very bland. We also ordered Honey chicken. The item was not traditionally prepared. The chicken was battered and deep fried with two little containers of a yellow sauce. It was expected to be pan seared with no breading. We love Chinese food. We also know that every Chinese restaurant isn't exactly the same. My favorite place is 3 hours away from where we now live & we found a new "favorite"! #1 Wok is excellent. I love their hit & Sour soup. I keep it in the house for me (low calorie, high on flavor, great lunch, snack) Egg rolls ate outstanding. Pan fried dumplings just WOW. Steamed dumplings are also good. The 1st time I ordered them & was having a hard time deciding, they OFFERED to make 4 of each for me. OFFERED, no charge. I'm not crazy about their shrimp appetizer. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not made the same way that I'm used to. Shrimp is fresh, reasonably priced. Mei Fun is a great staple & the family likes all types with "house" Mei fun leading the way. I noticed that the reviews for #1Wok weren't so great & I really can't imagine why. Must have changed cooks or owners? Unfortunately, all of their recipes I loved have changed, and not for the better. Even the filling in their Egg Rolls and Wontons, in the wonton soup, have changed! The meat filling in my wonton soup was a deep dark chocolate colored brown soy sauce color and the wonton itself was barely edible it was so undercooked. The egg roll filling was mushy and soggy and and bland (nothing but mushy cabbage) ,and the shell/wrapper was extra greasy. These tasted exactly like the frozen egg rolls you purchase from the supermarket. The other dishes were heavily flavored with soy sauce, that was all I could taste. Loved this place for years, but not anymore. This was my experience today. read more

For the last couple years since they are the closest place to me we have tried to order from them. I've ordered shrimp lo mein with hardly no shrimp. We are carb conscious so I'm willing to pay for Moo goo Gai pan up charge to have double vegetables no rice tonight it's $3 up charge and always a hassle. I try to ask if there's green peppers because I'm allergic and the girl and the other end of the phone can't speak enough English to answer my questions. Chinese takeout menus offer very little descriptions so somebody on the other end of the phone should be able to answer my questions. Trying a new takeout place we have to drive a little further but it might be worth it. My husband just called me from a competitor they were able to take care of us with no problem. read more

Tried for the first time. It's your typical Chinese take out. They have daily lunch specials for $5.99 that comes with pork fried rice and a can of soda. I ordered Wonton soup and the Chicken Szechuan combo plate for takeout. Loved the soup. Broth has great flavor and you can tell they use ginger in the broth which gave it a great finish. The pint of soup came with 6 wontons which was more than enough. The wontons were flavorful and soft. An egg-roll came with the combo and that was pretty decent also but could have used more filling. I most likely will not order the Chicken Szechuan again. It pretty much was chicken and mixed vegetables in some sort of sweet sauce. It's supposed to be spicy but there wasn't any spice. I wasn't in the mood for pork fried rice so I opted for the steamed rice. The rice was mushy. True disappointment. read more

Got it home to find that my General Tso's was most mixed meat (white and dark). the pork fried rice was way too greasy and with very little veggies to be found;husband's Pork Lo Mein had hardly any veggies; The spring rools had a roll of cabbage in it and that was it! For the very few "asian" restaurants in the area, I think my husband and I could have just gone without. But he was determined, and we ended up disappointed. Maybe coming from LA doesn't really give this place much of a chance, but I guess it does for the locals - the place was busy. About ten-fifteen minutes of a wait for your food (to-go). This restaurant is close to my home, so I use it often. The people are friendly and helpful. The food is always prepared quickly so it's always piping hot (unless I'm late to pick it up). The food is fresh, and I love that the veggies are plentiful. My favorites are the dishes with broccoli, so it's always well prepared. I've had the lo-mein - like that flavorable and not greasy (I've been to other places where the oils is running off). It's a great little restaurant when you want something hot and good. read more

I wish I just ordered a pizza. When I walked in I seen a lady upset about her messed up order. I seen another lady frustrated because of missing items. I should have turned around, but I was craving Chinese food. I sat and waited 25 minutes for the 'wrong order' The young lady at the counter was apologetic, but that doesn't help me because I left without what I ordered.
