Hotel has huge rooms and clean. It is right in downtown Burbank and there's many food options around. The hotel has a very small pool for the size and the fitness centre is kind of small as well. My friend and I had a positive experience during our 4 day stay. The lobby, hallways, and room were clean, spacious, and organized. The room was cleaned in a timely manner. All of the amenities worked and the pool was in the sun for most of the day. They had tables with umbrellas if you want to sit in the shade and enough lounge chairs for the people there. It's a very basic hotel, but it gives you the essentials in a comfortable way. It's located on a street with tons of delicious restaurants and a few blocks down is a huge shopping plaza. You have enough to entertain yourself for a whole day in walking distance. It was nice being able to come back to the hotel late at night and be able to walk 3 minutes to a nice dinner. The front desk people had no understanding of their own rewards program, which is the only reason I bumped it down a star. Their staff should be trained on their rewards program. PRO TIP: If you deny room service for a night, you get 500 IHG points, but make sure to remind the front of that because the 3 people we talked to about it all had to check with their manager. The manager and staff here (Dorian or Durian) are a shady money grubbing people. I had no problem staying here, but the fact that they were vague and unclear about parking was unacceptable. When I checked in, I specifically asked the front desk agent what I am being charged for on my credit card. He only said that I was being charged for $100 security hold (which is understandable). And mentioned NOTHING about parking, so I assumed parking was included for hotel guests. Then I found a $16 charge on my credit card from the hotel. When I called and asked, now they tell me that parking is $16. I spoke with manager explaining that this was never mentioned to me and that the parking signs are unclear because it says "guests" not "hotel guests". And the parking lot is open to everybody. The manager (Dorian) did nothing to rectify this miscommunication on their end. And pretty much hung up on me. Very poor customer service. And I guess shame on me for thinking anything is included in Los Angeles. read more

Stayed here for 3 days with my 4 yr daughter. The location is great if you have kids. It's walking distance from restaurants and the shopping center. We ate at the hotel for breakfast, it was convenient and less then $40. I paid the $19 per day parking, but there is free parking available in the streets if you don't want to pay. I didn't see any bugs or stains like the other reviews, and I didn't mind the old carpet look. Room also has a fridge and microwave, which was a must for me. We stay at this hotel because it is so convenient to our sons house. We have been staying here for 8 years or more. This is the first time that my husband was bitten up by fleas. We stayed 3 nights and in all fairness my husband didn't want for me to say anything but just power through. I decided to tell the desk. They did move us to a room on the 18 th floor that has a leaky window. This sounds mean spirited, but I thought they would compensate us some how, maybe a coffee, maybe breakfast, maybe parking but no. Happy new year read more

From the moment I walked into the hotel I was greeted with a big smile by the lady behind the counter. After she pulled up my name she welcomed and thanked me for being an IHG Rewards member. The check-in was very quick and very easy. I got to my room, which was very easy to find, and opened the door to a very nicely upgraded and very clean room. The bathrooms had beautiful marble counter tops, the beds were very comfortable, there was even an amazing assortment of soft, medium, and hard pillows, and I really like the fact that the room had a microwave and a refrigerator. I used them both! The remote did not work for the TV, so I called the front desk and within 5 minutes I had a remote to my door. That was excellent service! On my first night there I ate at the bar/restaurant downstairs because I didn't feel like going anywhere. Much to my surprise, the food was top notch! Like that in a fancy restaurant only at half the price! The waiter suggested the salmon with broccolini and rice pilaf. It was probably one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever had. After a very enjoyable dinner with excellent conversation with the waiter, I went to the gift shop where I struck up an amazing conversation for about an hour with the gentleman working there. He was quite a joy to talk too and a very nice gentleman. After my business meetings the next day, I came back to again, a very clean room that was very well taking care of by the maid. Upon my departure I went to the front counter and was again thanked for being an IHG Rewards member by the gentleman that checked me out. The parking was a breeze and very convenient and easy. Okay... So... The only thing that blew me away was the fact that this place has no jacuzzi. I was very surprised and disappointed by that. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel to stay at. It's half the price of any Hilton or Marriott and I would grade it at the same quality level. Good job Holiday Inn! Boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights beginning March 12, 2016. It was around a 15-20 minute drive to Universal Studios. 25-35 minutes to Hollywood Walk of Fame (depending on traffic.) Free parking and this Holiday Inn is located within walking distance of Downtown Burbank so there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, casual quick service dining, retail stores, movie theaters, an IKEA and the Burbank mall. The hotel room itself is basic. Don't expect any fancy schmancy stuff. You get your bed, small sized bathroom, a desk and a small couch. You do, however, get a microwave and fridge in your room....which is a good added amenity. It's also an older Holiday Inn but hey...it's clean and everything was functioning properly. Walls were a bit thin. Free Wifi but it was spotty during my stay...not sure if the signal becomes weak if more than one device is trying to sign in. Boyfriend had no problem signing onto his laptop but I couldn't connect with my iphone. This is a good hotel to stay at if the price is right. read more

My wife and son stayed here this week. A one night stay booked in advance and the room was reasonably clean and the staff was friendly so why the 2 star. Well its thoughtfulness: Checked in 7pm and provided with room. Went out to dinner and returned about 10pm to find letter under door stating water will be turned off in this section due to routine maintenance 8am to 12pm. Went to front desk to ask about alternate room and offered only a single bed room vs the 2 bed booked room. Did not change. Got up extra early to take shower to avoid shut off midway. My points are pretty obvious : 1) who does routine maintenance on water 8am to noon in a hotel? Isn't that the most common times for guests to be needing water? 11-2pm I could see. 2) If it were truly routine why did desk staff book us into the room at 7pm? Why slip a note under door after checkin? 3) Why not have comparable backup rooms for guests to move to? Sorry to say but I would not stay at this joint again. Aside from rather torn/frayed 1970-80's condition and decor, any early-extra-night cancellations are non-refundable, which I didn't see till I got the receipt, maybe my advance detective work that you seem to need to do these days for everything was quite up to par. Aside from this, I thought I had made a resv direct with them through their front desk (habit anymore, I try to avoid any/all 3rd party agencies) but lo, the resv went through Reservationdesk.com and you are in for the usual overseas/3rd party hoop-jump for any questions or disputes to do with money. The staff seem to be ignorant about this as the girl said "you need to call Expedia for any early cancellation refunds"...I never went near Expedia. Add to this the horrendous road noise from the I-5 freeway and nonstop biker noise below and you get a less-than-charming but probably typical L.A. experience. There are a lot of other hotels and I'm going to make use of them next time. Staff were prompt and helpful though, not their fault. read more

This Holiday Inn saved me from a potentially horrible start to my vacation. I was originally supposed to stay at the Holiday Inn at LAX, but due to a major oversight by Expedia, I got there only to discover that my reservation never made it through the system, and I was left with no place to stay because they were already overbooked. Three hours into my ordeal, I just started trying to find a hotel to stay at on my own. I found this Holiday Inn on Yelp, and decided to see if maybe they had a room. Luckily, they did. The guy who made my reservation for me was so kind, and sympathetic. I have to admit, it made me feel better. When I got there, I was greeted by smiling faces at the front desk. It was a welcome sight. I got checked in, and went upstairs to my room to relax a bit. My room was on the 18th floor. What a view! The room was also spotless and neat. The decor was not offensive, and was quite pleasant. In addition, there was a mini fridge and a microwave in there. I was so happy to have a place to rest, finally. Oh, and did I mention free parking? The validate it for you! The cafe has decent food, with many organic options, which is great. My bed was super cozy, the staff was welcoming and highly accomodating, and I would totally stay here again. Thanks for helping save my vacation, Holiday Inn! read more

We were having some plumbing issues at the Burbank house so decided to spend the night here. At check in, there was a line and it took about 20 minutes to get the room. We ended up getting one of the updated rooms but since I hadn't stayed here before, I had nothing to compare it to. The room was a good size, modern bathroom/vanity, coffee maker with tea/coffee on the desk, fridge, microwave and a large tv. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. It's nothing luxurious but it's no Motel 6 either. If I need a place to stay again when in the area, will come here for sure. The parking structure was safe and if you stay here, they validate it. Check out was easy and they didn't charge crazy additional charges that some hotels charge. Very pleased. read more

The regular rooms here are like staying at your grandma's place. Upholstery held together with tape, a variety of weird smells, and decor that was popular before y2k. Expensive parking, incredibly long walk to the elevators from the lobby and there is only one for 18 floors so it is a very long wait. Very poor service at the front desk. There is really no reason to stay here. Even with platinum status they put me in an ordinary 2 queen room with the conditions described. They refused to refund a dime of my 5 day stay due to the substandard room even though I booked directly with the hotel. I'd recommend the much nicer residence inn down the road. read more

Dropped my wife off with the luggage while I drive to park the car, got to the room on the 10th floor and she wasn't there. She could not find elevators and staff was not helpful. She got the luggage cart in the tiny elevator and couldn't get it out. Supposedly got a room with a view, but double pane window was so fogged up could not enjoy it. When your hotel advertises itself as a "Media Center" you damn well better have a really good wifi. Not just average wifi, but great wifi. But guess what, this hotel probably had the worst wifi I have ever had. When I travel to a hotel for work I expect the place to have good wifi. I can't work without it. The hotel was ok, and the room I had was great. As an IGH member I was immediately address as such and was given a free drink coupon and I was upgraded from a standard room to a suite on the 17th floor overlooking the city. We used the bar for a drink before dinner and then had a nightcap after returning from dinner. The beer selection was good and the bartender did a great job taking care of us. If the wifi isn't better I would not be able to stay here again. read more

An enthusiastic 5 stars for this hotel. My wife and I prefer Marriott when we travel. We are not snooty or upper class by any means but we demand a clean hotel with polite staff. Holiday Inn Burbank-Media Center met that threshold and more. Check in was quick and easy. Desk staff was courteous and helpful. The lobby is spacious and tastefully decorated. *Our 18th floor room was larger than I expected. *The bed was comfortable. *The A/C unit was surprisingly quiet. *Good TV and a good TV menu. *Bathroom was large enough and stocked with good quality soap, shampoo, etc.. *Elevators were quick when called. *Close proximity to numerous dinner establishments is a posiive. For the first time in many hotel room nights I was not awakened by usual hotel noises. We were more than satisfied with the breakfast offerings in the restaurant. The wait staff was professional and like everyone else we encountered in the hotel, polite. We paid $140 plus or minus with taxes. The Marriott property across the street quoted well over $200. I could complain about the $16 parking charge but in context it did not stand out as overbearing. This Holiday Inn will be our first choice for lodging when we visit the Southland. read more

Stayed for two nights on 13th floor. Very clean rooms, housekeepers did a really good job during my stay too. Hotel is right in downtown and was close to everything we needed. Especially an In-N-Out! The hotel also had a little garden that was very clean and nicely taken care of where we could take pictures. New Facebook profile pics here I come! Parking fee is $19 per night and so my husband and I ended up parking super far away and walking a little bit. But with this lovely California weather we didn't mind at all. Staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. Even though they didn't recognize me as an IHG member. If it weren't for the $100 deposit and $19 parking fee a night, we'd probably come back to this hotel. Overall, great experience and would totally recommend. read more

This hotel is among my faves! Location location location. Right in the middle of downtown burbank so you can walk to the shops, bars, restaurants, movie theaters and mall! Also close to 5 fwy! Beds are nice and big! And the hotel itself has had a nice remodel done because up until a couple months ago, it was looking like the early 90s up in there! The restaurant has also been revamped serving yummy and creative foods! The bar is still kind of dated but the crystal room upstairs is pretty cool with an amazing view of the city :) Ps I also appreciate the fridge and microwave in every room! Poor service from start to finish. We were only offered rooms in the back of the hotel by the elevators and ice machine, in spite of the fact it is a large hotel. These are the least desirable rooms because of the noise and traffic. Cleaning staff did not clean, never came to pick up garbage from our room during a 4 day stay. Card keys did not work, requiring multiple trips from the back of the hotel up and down elevators, to the front desk. Staff never told us anything about the hotel, never pointed out any cafe or other amenities. We had a "great" view of the parking garage. Bathtub did not have a non-slip surface and I slipped in it. I recently stayed at this hotel with my partner due to our house undergoing a termite fumigation. I do NOT recommend termites, but I DO recommend this hotel! I already knew this area of Burbank, so I was aware that it's a great location near a ton of delicious restaurants. I'm also happy to report that the hotel was clean and comfortable. What put things over the top for me, and why I'm writing this review, was the wonderful customer service across-the-board. Some relevant context - my partner, and I fell in love with their feather pillows. During checkout, I asked the front desk if they ever get requests from guests who want to buy their pillows. To my happy surprise, the answer was yes! Matthew at the front desk was helpful by telling me who to contact in housekeeping. When I called housekeeping a couple days later, I spoke to the delightful Regina, the Assistant Director of housekeeping, I think, and she went above and beyond for me. She assured me she would get all the information about the pricing for the pillows, but then, she and her team went out of their way to find me two feather pillows in excellent condition and quickly brought them to the front desk that afternoon so that I could pick them up. I also briefly met the Director of housekeeping, Javier, and he was delightful as well. Even though I was asking for extra help, and extra work on their part, everyone seemed really friendly and happy to step up to do whatever they could to make me comfortable and happy. The whole team really reminded me how nice the hospitality industry can be. If your travels bring you to this hotel, I think you'll be in good hands. read more

We got there in Thursday afternoon first thing my husband got a really bad attitude from the front desk lady. We got a suite for 4 people and once we got into the suite the sofa bed is only for one person so we went to ask for a rolling bed so the guy said no they can't ok, which was understandable but again we got attitude I don't know if they were having an off day but we weren't asking for anything free just wanted to have a comfortable stay. Another thing was when my daughter opened the sofa bed there was a trash bag. So I never recommend staying here. Most disgusting customer service and hotel ever! I had about a 3 week stay here and after about a week into my stay I was itchy. I came to work and noticed I had bite marks all over my body. When I returned to the hotel after work I told the management they came inspected my room I showed them the marks on my body they took pictures and gave me another room. In the morning I told them I will be leaving and the day shift manager had said they need to clean and treat my clothes and luggage so I told them to do so. When I arrived to the hotel at night to pick up my belongings I was approached by the worse manager ever who deserves to be fired ASAP! His name was Nagy. He told me your luggage is in storage outside and you need to leave the property now. I asked him has my clothes been cleaned he said "no there is nothing to clean and your a liar." I videoed the remaining conversation showing the bed bug bites all over me and he started walking away and told him I want to see a report of the pest control results and he told me he has them but he will not give them to me and walked away. I told him I want the names of the people who I talked to in the afternoon including their own security who commented saying "ya bro those are bed bug bites" and all he had to say was he doesn't need to give me any names until i make it official. IHG really needs to hire better employees! Most disgusting experience ever! First of all I never asked for ANY compensation! And yes of course I wanted to leave from there immediately! Your day manager said my clothes were going to be treated and cleaned instead was left in an outside storage and I was told to leave once I returned to pick it up. And when I asked for this "so called" pest control report your rude manager told me he will give it when he wants to. And when I asked for my room receipts I wasn't given that as well! But most importantly pest controls can't detect microscopic bugs and unless you have some dogs with super powers they can't either. read more

Stayed here with a friend in June (she paid) while she sorted things out for a possible move to California. The best part about this place is the location to other restaurants. I agree with everybody- lobby is beautiful, rooms aren't. The staff isn't very friendly. There is no free breakfast. But as somebody said, if you're coming from afar, it IS off 1-5, so you really CAN'T miss it! If you go to the 5th floor of the parking deck, you'll be surrounded by hearses and boats. My mother stayed here and the rooms were nice and clean and the beds VERY comfy. I liked that you could choose between firm or soft pillows. The only issue I had was the pool - it was VERY small, very very few chairs (this is Los Angeles, why are there only like, six chairs out there?) and we had to wait 45 minutes and three phone calls to the front desk to get towel replacements. Great location that is walking distance to downtown Burbank and easy access to the 5 freeway. As long as you don't care about a lame pool, this is a nice hotel. read more

I was very pleased with my stay at the Holiday Inn Burbank. I wasn't sure what to expect as some of the photos online are very out dated and show the hotel before it was renovated. Now it is very nice and clean, a great place for business meetings or conferences. The room (I had a king suite) was very spacious and clean. The only thing that would have made my stay better would be a free breakfast or at the least free coffee. There is water in the lobby but no coffee. I looked at the breakfast menu and it looked alright but I chose to go out and find a cheaper breakfast. I thought the service was also friendly. No one was rude at the front desk like a lot of the reviewers mention. The lady who checked me in was very pleasant. read more

Last week my son was staying at the Holiday Inn Burbank and after he had checked out and was at the airport boarding his plane, he realized he left a very important piece of his company's equipment in his hotel room. He contacted the hotel and luckily they had found the item. The item was needed before the weekend so it was important to get it returned to my son ASAP. I made contact with the hotel and spoke to one of the managers and he was aware of the situation and walked me through what was needed. I worked through UPS and had a shipping label sent to the hotel. When I asked for confirmation that the label was received, I actually had 2 people respond stating it was all good. When the item was shipped, I got another email from another employee with the info and tracking number. I was so impressed by the personal service I receive when I contacted the hotel and everyone seemed to pitch in and help get the item shipped out. My son got it in time for the weekend and so all is good. With that said, my son also said he had a good experience at the hotel: room, comfort, cleanliness, service, staff etc which is great but I think the impressive service by Alysson Bubbins, Frank Asseko and Regina Hernandez and all those involved was a big reason for this 5-star rating. I had 6 nights to stay here but sadly I had to leave the second night. There was 2 cockroaches by the floor next to the bed I called front desk to tell them to have someone come remove them but once I came back to see where they were they disappeared. I had to pack up all my things and leave sadly. I just didn't feel comfortable to even get a new room since they offered me that option... but I had them refund me back.
