I just finished a 3-day stay at this hotel and it was nothing short of a wonderful experience. Overall, folks should be aware that the historical unfavorable Yelp reviews for this hotel are from back in the day before the remodeling facelift. The hotel is fresh, clean, and modern. The staff helped to make my stay a memorable one. First, the honest and helpful cleaning maid found my phone charger and placed it in a plastic bag so that the front desk could contact me and bring the charger to me. Second, a staffer moved a comfy chair over to me while I was sitting on the floor next to an outlet in the lobby while charging my laptop. Finally, the serving staff was incredible. They brought out our meals swiftly like a polite version of Dale Earnhardt's pit crew. There was ALWAYS a helpful staff member to answer questions and ready to do anything to make the guests' stay pleasant. The location of this hotel is awesome too. It's located footsteps away from the downtown Burbank strip, which contains many food and shopping options. read more

My husband and I stayed here overnight after a visit to City of Hope (medical appt). The staff was very cordial and the hotel lobby and surroundings were nice. However.... All I wanted was a good night's sleep and I listened to the drip drip drip of the air conditioner unit above us ALL NIGHT LONG. I was exhausted in the morning. The hotel is old and is obviously upgrading its facilities.... Ill stay somewhere else in the future if I want sleep. read more

Hotel is very convenient to tons of restaurants and easy to walk everywhere! The hotel restaurant is PERFECT for breakfast as I had a cooked to order meal every morning. Rooms are more than adequate, shoot for the newer wing where the rooms seem to be more updated. Parking is more than adequate, was always easy to find a place to park. read more

Stayed here overnight not too long ago and although it was a decent stay, It's safe to say there are parts of the hotel that need updating. The lobby wasnt too bad. There was a fair number of places to sit. There's water available while you wait. It was a breeze to check in. It took maybe 5 minutes to get checked in with room key in hand. We got an upper floor like we requested but we should have asked if we could have a room at the end of the hall as our room was the first one near the elevator. The room seemed really outdated. The bed was comfortable but the furnishings need updating. The flat screen TV was definitely an older model, the chair & ottoman looked like they were from the 80s. The room had a lot of floor space. I think it had to do with the location of the room being in the corner than this being the norm. Bathroom and shower were ok. The air conditioning unit was a little noisy IMO. I imagine most of the rooms have this issue. The view was nice. You could see the 5 freeway as you looked down on that part of Burbank. Another little issue I had was when I wanted to use the iron, it wouldnt work/turn on. I thought initially it might have been that outlet but that wasnt it. It was just a dud iron. I called housekeeping and they were nice enough to send one of the maintenance workers up to the room with a newer and functioning one. They were knockin at the door in less than 10 mins... And the ironing board had a worthless cover on it with the thinnest padding on. So whatever you ironed would be indented with the grooves of the ironing board. Parking is free so make sure you get validated as a hotel guest... Overall, a decent stay but the hotel rooms could use some updating. Hope they remedy it soon. read more

Love this place. Cheap, comfortable beds, friendly staff and near everything!! Downtown Burbank is literally at a walking distance. Everything is clean. We haven't had any issues with cleaning or noise. The pool is always fun. I love this place for a quick getaway from the chaos of my work week and I'm pretty sure my boyfriend feels the same. So I have had the pleasure of staying on the Suite side and it was very nice. This trip is in the back regular rooms and a bit outdated. My first impression as I walked in was a cheap Motel 6 with a musty smell. I think it truly is just in need of a remodel. The hotel itself is nice enough and does have a great location. Hotel Burbank needs to be updated. By the way, this hotel is Holiday Inn. There are no USB ports in my room, this is 2022 already. Only the lobby has been updated. When we check into our room, the bathroom smells terrible, like back up sewerage. I opened the fan in the bathroom to air it out as well as blasted the ac. The shower head didn't spray uniformly and was old and had seen better days. Gym room was average, nothing special. Mini fridge was wet on bottom shelf, don't know why. Very noisy area from the street and maybe it's the railroad/train in the morning. This hotel is very far from the airport if you are driving during rush hour. It can take you almost 2 hours to get there. The location is good, close Hollywood and Glendale. Location has many restaurants and stores nearby. The staff are friendly and nice. Elevator was nice cause you can see the outside of the building. There is self parking for $20 day in and out. The only thing that I found nice in the room was the 2 queen beds. Desperately needs updating cause it's stuck in the 80's. read more

This review is based only on the poor customer service I received today. I had emailed several times to inquire about renting out event space. After no response to my email and follow up after a week, I called and spoke to Mimi, who provided absolutely no information and was extremely unhelpful and unpleasant. She basically said she had no timeline for when the Crystal Lounge would be available for events and to "call back". When I asked to speak to someone else or for more information as to when I should call back, the repeated answer was "no timeline". She said she was the only saleperson to talk to and she had no further information to offer. It seems that they should update the staff as they update the hotel. read more

I would like to say that my vacation here was amazing due to Marnie, Ben, and Assistant Manager Ethan. They all provided great service. They are the reason I am writing a 5 star review. Mimi their Sales agent was horrible! She was not professional and rude. She was the opposite of what you would consider good customer service or good employee. Came here to have a little birthday trip with my bf and wanted to treat myself to stay at a nice hotel only to be greeted by a rude staff member that I can't remember her name who gave me a hard time by checking in. The room my bf and I got was in the corner of the 4th floor all the way at the end of the floor and the elevators on that side wasn't working and it was small and gave me very eerie vibes. We noticed that the other rooms looked nicer than ours, so we were upset that we got one of the bad rooms but we didn't complain cause we only used the hotel to sleep and the bed was okay. Hello! I wanted to share my experience at Hotel Burbank. We booked to take our son to Universal Studios for his birthday. The staff were friendly at check in and allowed us to check in early for extra cost. It was a nice place and close to restaurants and our bank. The issue started the first night I was getting in bed. I turned down the sheets and it had dried blood stains. I called the front desk and told them. They wanted to move me to another room but my family was not there so I said no. I asked if o can have clean sheets? She says they had no one to change them but sent them to me and I did it myself. So the next day we were headed for a long day at universal. I put the bloody sheets and towels in a pile so housekeeping could pick up later. When we got back 13 hours later the pile was still there. I called front desk and she says they don't do housekeeping only upon requests? I said no one told me that at all but the did know about the sheet incident. They sent someone that night to pick up the dirty linen. The next morning I was checking out and spoke with a very nice woman Melissa. I told her my concerns and she spoke to the manager. She apologized and said they would waive my early check in fee. She said the manager would call also. Well we are almost a month and no call and no fee was refunded to me. It's unfortunate cause there were things I liked like the cafe and sitting areas. I liked that it was a locked hotel also so not just anyone can go in and out. During a busy graduation week, we had a lovely stay at the newly remodeled (still working on the rooms) Hotel Burbank. After a couple of bumps, the registration desk clerk, Matthew, was apologetic and bumped us to a suite. We asked for a quiet room and we sure got one! On the 15th floor, away from the elevators. It was perfect. Had a large sitting room, with sofa and table and chairs, small fridge and microwave. Then there was a large bedroom that was clean and very comfortable. There is a cafe that is open til 10pm. We got a full breakfast that was handed to us in a bag to take back to our room. The food was good and generous. There are numerous restaurants a short walk from the hotel. we especially want to shout out our appreciation for Matthew. He was friendly, professional and courteous. He addressed us by name the whole four days we were there and always was helpful with any of our questions and or requests. Overall, because of Matthew, we will return to this hotel. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the rooms. The lobby and public spaces are kind of retro, mid century vibe, very clean and attractive. read more

I scored a suite room at Holiday Inn Burbank on a chaotic reroute. It takes more than an hour to get to Lax but if you are using Bob Hope airport, they have a free shuttle from the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Suite room comes with a full kitchen, dining table and sofa and a separate bedroom. When you booked for TWO QUEEN BEDS and they give you full sized beds. Had gone downstairs to inform them and front desk and told me that don't offer "full sized" only queen. When online clearly shows you can pick from full, queen or king. This is absolutely absurd as I just had surgery and can't sleep in a small bed. They don't deserve not 1 star. We arrived around 12:45am after a long day at Disneyland with 3 kids. This stay was booked through a third party and already paid for. I went to check in and to my surprise my DL had expired the month before. ( my honest mistake I had no idea since I just had checked out a hotel the night before and there wasn't a problem) I explained that to him. He said unfortunately there is nothing we can do yadayadayada . Just a whole bunch of bullsh** excuses. I told him we had no where else to go is there anyway he can do something about it I have stayed here many many times before. Even offered to leave a bigger deposit I tried it all since I have 3 tired kids in the car we just wanted to get some rest. They basically threw us out and told us no. Luckily Thank God we were able to check in at another hotel. He could have easily let us check in he could've ignored the expiration of a few days. I can't complain about the pricing at all. A fabulous stay in a very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel. I was in the heart of downtown Burbank. Easy access to everything. The check process was easy and quick. The only thing I didn't quite understand or like was that I had to pay for parking in their parking garage. $19.99 per night. Stayed here while taking a weekend for a Dodger/Yankee game - our first time in this area. We are IHG members and my husband chose this location because it's very close to Burbank airport and Dodger Stadium. The hotel has a 24/7 shuttle - so if you fly into Burbank airport - just give them a call when you land and they'll collect you at the shuttle stand - very convenient! We did not rent a car - so this is a big PLUS! The hotel is very nice! There are a lot of meeting spaces and a large lounge area and breakfast area. They have happy hour and karaoke - if that's your sort of thing. The breakfast buffet is pricey at about $20/person but has a nice selection! The fruit was perfect and the staff are friendly and extremely attentive! I have to mention that we ordered room service late on a Sunday - BLT wrap w/fries, buffalo wings and chicken tenders - and this food was WAY BETTER than most of the surrounding places we walked to for lunch/dinner while we were here! Food was fresh and delicious! The wait time was probably about 10-15 minutes, including delivery time to our door! The room we stayed in was very big with a refrigerator, microwave and large sitting area. Super comfy beds and LOVE the pillows! I got VERY good sleep here! The gift shop has SMART Water in the gift shop that is vapor distilled and can be used for your CPAP machines!! The surrounding area has a lot of restaurants, shops and a movie theater. There is a shopping mall fairly close by - about 15min walk. Closest drug store is about a mile away (for those of you who like to buy bottled water, drinks or snacks for the room). If we are ever in town again for a game or to do some tourist things (Universal Studios/Warner Bros or another game) - I would HIGHLY recommend this location! read more

I am writing this review super late but my experience has been so great here that I literally asked for a business card with her name so i could write a review. I even wrote it in my planner so I wouldn't forget! I stayed here twice within the last two months and the receptionist Lorena is an absolute angel. My date and I aren't from the area and Lorena went above and beyond for us by stating what we could do nearby as well as great places to eat!! She answered all of our questions and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. It's really nice to make a personal connection with staff at an establishment you don't really get that anymore in our era. Lorena was personable, sweet, kind, and knowledgeable and she made checking in and navigating the city a breeze!!! Lorenas customer service exceeded our expectations and the hotel was tidy, clean, and very comfortable! I have never slept that good in a hotel bed! I also want to mention that the phone/operating system is great you don't have to wait on the phone for 30 mins to request extra towels and they were quick!!! 10/10 would recommend this hotel it really is worth the money! Overall I really like the location of this hotel. I have stayed here a few times. Its walking distance to downtown Burbank. And minutes away from other places like Universal Studios. As well as Hollywood. There is parking available for a fair prices of $16 per night. I love the toiletries that they have! Bath and Body Works soaps. You can't beat that. If you venture around the hotel, you will find a lounge on the top floor. As well as a bar area on the bottom floor. I believe that the bottom floor has karaoke and entertainment. In the mornings you can get breakfast at the hotel or wander down the street to one of the many great places and grab some food. The service each time has been on point. This hotel was easy to get to from the freeway. I would come back and stay here again. read more

Nice, clean hotel. The lobby looks really nice well furnished with modern designs. Love the front drop off area since my mom has difficulty walking far. Love that they provide cool (lime infused water) by the reception area. The area is indeed close to nice restaurants. I would go back there again. Unfortunately my visit to LA (Glendale) was more of a somber occasion (funeral of a loved one). Awful service from the front desk. Staff are not knowledgeable about their policies. Garage has signs that says they "validate" for overnight guests. I was reviewing our bill for my party. Noted we had two rooms and two cars. I went to speak to "Maria" who was working at the front desk on 1/2/17 08:00 about the charges. I made reference to the signs at the garage elevators about guest validation. She has no idea about the signs I was talking about. So I told her that I will take a picture and come back. I went to garage and returned. Maria was occupied with another guest this time So "Damiend" --loosely speaking -- assisted me. I showed him the picture of the sign and asked him what the sign means. I told him our room numbers and asked why there were parking charges. He started going off about the charges and that he can't do anything about it. He then called me rude for showing him the picture of the sign(wahhh?!?) he walked away towards the back office to hide... I asked him for his name and essentially gave me "the talk to the hand gesture as he walked away. Dfuuhh? If he told me that it wasn't an error and clarify what the sign means that validate is not free but rather a discount.. (idk about you but parking validation typically means waive for parking fee if you purchase at the business). I called the 800 number, and the lady who was 3200 miles (she told me) away from the property seemed to be knowledgeable abt the parking fees. Otherwise guest will rely on your signs, thus staff on site should be able to extrapolate what these signs mean.. otherwise people will take them as is. Apparently there is a sign by the garage entrance on size 12 font, which is not readable when you get your ticket. Just like those ads on TV that they show for 1 sec. but enough to cover their beeehinds.. Update 1/7/17 @Sharyn c. No! Obviously there is an issue with damion. It was a pretty nice hotel. I stayed 3 nights for a business trip and had a pleasant stay. My room was spacious and kept well with modern upgrades. The room service was delivered on time and really good, not cold or nasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great. It's walking distance to the entertainment district of downtown Burbank. The movie theaters, comedy club, mall, restaurants and shopping is all right in walking distance of a few minutes. read more

The evening 'manager' (Phil) was hostile towards my family and I upon arrival. He insulted me while arguing that I was to blame for the hotels booking error. Never apologized or offered alternative options, basically made me feel like I was interrupting their evening. The female clerk behind the desk actually giggled at me after providing my description of the issue. Phil also walked away shaking his head in disapproval while whispering something under his breath. Very unprofessional. Recommendation: if you're not the hospitable type of person - DON'T work in the HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. Do something else... that ones free! I frequently use these hotels across the Nation for business but this place takes the cake. Someone needs to get a handle of their employees, I was literally impressed on how they avoided every opportunity to provide even the smallest level of 'Customer Service'. Serious retraining is required at this location. Look at the photos I've included, these were taken at peak business hours - no one in site. Found Phil and the gang hanging out chatting, in what I could only tell was a blackout area where their cameras couldn't see them. Pretty sophomoric if you ask me. One issue after another, none of which were properly addressed, led to a completely horrible stay. When we had to call the front desk yet again, the manager actually told us to just checkout and leave if we were that unhappy. When I asked where we should go at 9:45pm on a Saturday night, I was told, "That's not my problem." The manager was rude, argumentative, and condescending and didn't care at all about all of the problems that were happening. Complete disregard for the customer and customer experience! No offer of compensation or a way to make it right. I have never experienced anything like it and I have stayed in a lot of hotels! If you don't want to serve customers, then don't work in customer service! I would NEVER stay at this location again, even if it was free! Lots of other hotels in the area - I would definitely stay away from this location and go with another chain of hotels that actually cares about customer service. I guess not only do you get what you pay for, but there was a reason there was a availability so close to our travel date! Next time, I will definitely book farther in advance and with a different hotel chain. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS LOCATION LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

The manager, "Lola," and her staff are rude and discriminatory against elders. I booked two nights for my parents so they could attend a funeral. I was expecting them to be taken care of and receive adequate service during this difficult time. My parents are older and are hard of hearing. When they returned to their hotel room after a difficult day, they came back to an unserviced room. When my mom called the housekeeping line to ask why they had not serviced their room, she was told that guests have to request it and that she was told of this at check in and that there are notes inside the room indicating this. This is simply untrue. They were not told of this expectation (which I think is just absurd to ask guests to take action. Guests should be taken care of...after all, that's what you pay for) and there were no notes inside the room. My mom was transferred to the front desk and as soon as they heard her spanish accent, they hung up on her. At this point, my mom called me and told me what happened. She was distraught and felt extremely disrespected. I called and asked to speak to the manager, the manager answered and indicated that she was aware of the issue already. She talked over me several times, did not take accountability for their wrong doings, and did not apologize for her staff hanging up on my mother. "Lola" had no compassion when I told her my parents were there for a funeral and I expected them to be treated kindly and with respect. These are things guests shouldn't have to ask for. The manager was just as rude as her staff, refused to refund me any part of their stay. I think a full refund of one of the two nights is reasonable given that my parents were mistreated. When I said I would escalate further, she simply did not care. I told her I would never book a stay there again and she seemed unbothered. Also, the rooms and facilities were very outdated. Later, I found out this used to be a Holiday Inn...they simply changed the name. This hotel needs a major overhaul of its facilities and more importantly, its staff. read more

Their pool was extremely dirty, the water was murky to the point that when anyone jumped in the pool all the globs of hair, dirt, and any debris came surfacing to the top and around the people, needless to say, I did not allow my grandkids to swim in that. The cafeteria has the utensils out in the open in bunches on the table so anyone can touch all of the utensils, this is very unsanitary since you don't know if the person before you didn't wash their hands before grabbing the utensils, I had to clean each one with a sanitizing cloth before we could use them. The frig in the room didn't work properly so it didn't keep our drinks cold and to top it off, they should not charge the guests $22 per day to park in their parking garage. The only benefits I saw were being close to the fwy, the mall, the theater, and some restaurants. read more

This staff is ridiculously rude, non-accommodating, and apparently change "company policy" on spot to suit their mood. I have never been treated so poorly at a Holiday Inn in my life.
