Perfect Burbank location. Great hotel and staff, in an outstanding location. Plenty to do, eat, see, etc. Rooms are larger than normal and quiet. Great workout room, and if you can't walk 100 yards to about ten restaurants, the food at the hotel bar is pretty good. read more

This Holiday Inn surprised us by being nicer than most. Very clean and supremely quiet (we were by the elevator and they had a live band in one of the ballrooms and we heard nothing). Comfy bed, nice decor, cheaper than all other comparable hotels in the area, plus free parking. Hotel itself gets 4 stars, which I'm bumping up to five because it is Cartoon Network-adjacent. A three star hotel that is worth paying extra for especially in Los Angeles. Standard rooms are clean, dust-free, spacious, and not outdated. Catalina was great at the front desk. She helped us out and was very Patient and kind cause we were In need of a last minute room. We were going to be close to an elevator but she helped us out and have us a better room with a beautiful view of the mountains. The rooms were clean and smelled wonderful. This hotel was in a great location; it was easy to find (right off the freeway) and within very close walking distance of the downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel itself was nicely decorated and very clean. Our room was nice, and it looked brand new. My one gripe is the breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. We paid about 40 dollars for two people to have the "buffet" which had limited selections and wasn't very good. Denny's would have been tastier. Another suggestion would be to streamline the parking validation process. You have to get your ticket validated by a staff member at registration. This is quite inconvenient if there is line and you are in a hurry to leave. Overall, we really enjoyed staying here, and we look forward to staying here again. read more

Stayed here because i was planning to visit downtown LA and all the hotels around that area were over 200 for a saturday night on Memorial Weekend. I paid 169 here and i would do it again. The location is excellent. There are a lot of restaurants and a movie theater in walking distance. Pros - Rooms are average size, clean and parking is free. Cons - The staff was pleasant enough...but no one seemed overjoyed that they received my business. read more

We stayed here for one night between a day at Magic Mountain and a day at Universal Studios. The employees at the desk were very nice, efficent and professional. We were in my husband's work truck and he knew it would be tall for their garage, so they very willingly accommodated parking just along the curbside down from the lobby. We were given a room on the fourth floor, very quiet, spacious and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and each had 4 pillows, two soft and two firmer, so you could choose. We drove about a minute away through a quaint and cute part of Burbank to a Starbuck's for coffee, then just a few miles on surface streets, past the famous Forest Lawn cemetery, straight to Universal Studios. It was definitely the best Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. I recommend this hotel for a clean, courteous, comfortable stay close to major attractions. read more

Got room through Hotwire. First, the front desk receptionist takes quite some time to get the room booked. Then she says the only they have is a smokers room with king bed-really, all the other rooms are taken??? Then she says my credit card doesn't work. Which there is no reason to not be working, had to provide another card. By the time we get to the room, it stinks (smoker's room) and so noisy!! Really hard to believe this is 3 stars hotel. The night before I had had such a great experience with another Hotwire deal that I was greatly disappointed with this one (which was more expensive too). read more

Not the greatest experience. The parking sucks. Also when we were trying to get out of the parking garage our key wouldn't open the gate so we called the front desk and no one answered so we called off of our cell phone and the lady said she would open it. The gate still didn't open so then we called back and told them it didn't open and the lady replied well I'm pressing the button so idk what more you want me to do. I do not tolerate rudeness so that made me mad right away. Then at 8:30am room service comes knocking on our room to clean it. That is way too early for room service to be coming! And they don't have door signs to put out that you don't need your room clean. Overall I will probably never stay there again. Burn holes in the ground. Toilet very loud, and shower head had rust all over it. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We had a great experience. Had no trouble with free wifi and we had 2 laptops going at the same time. Staff at front desk were friendly and helpful and the free parking in the garage was great. Lots of restaurants close by and I-5 down the street. The only negative I can think of was the smell coming from the sink but other than that it was good all around! We will definitely be staying there next time we are in Burbank. read more

Held a meeting at this location and the staff for the meeting rooms were very helpful. Larry Cuba in particular came by several times throughout the day to check on coffee, water, room temperature and asked if there were any needs at all. will definitely have another meeting in this hotel. read more

Stayed here for a night after spending a day at Universal Studios, check in was very fast and room was nice & clean, everything looked updated and fresh! was on the 7th floor and had no problems. I booked two weeks in advance and reserved a king non smoking room for $165 after taxes and fees. Slept like a baby throughout the night. Parking garage is a nice addition, just have to get your ticket validated at the front desk, overall it was a wonderful stay and I have no complaints, checkout was a breeze and we were on our way. Highly recommend for a stay. Perfect area also with plenty of restaurants, shopping and attractions, looking forward to coming back read more

I've never been one to really read into reviews. I've always liked to experience it for myself. The only reason I am giving the Holiday Inn three stars is for how big the rooms are and comfortable and for free parking. I arrived on Sunday 1/31. Let me be the first to say they definitely need to get new staff. They are all unfriendly and rude. I dealt with Maria at the front desk and she needs an attitude adjustment. I was never once welcomed or anything. I asked a simple question about parking to which her response was her rolling her eyes and saying a smart ass comment back. I then asked if she got our request for a high floor. She said she put us on the 4th floor. I asked if she had any higher rooms as our friends next to us were put on the 8th floor. Her response was anything above floor 2 is a high floor. Wow really! When we received our keys from her my wife told her we don't need her rudeness and walked away. Once in our room, we were relieved that it was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. I noticed housekeeping outside our room so I kindly asked for a few more towels. I understand people saying they don't speak English. The housekeeper had a hard time understanding me. I finally went back in my room and brought out a towel and said tres por favor. Not a big deal to me. As far as parking, why complain it's free. Get your ticket validated when you park at night that way in the morning you don't need to wait in line with people checking out. It's that simple. Don't complain when it's free. However, parking attendant at the booth. Again, hire new staff. Younger African American male needs to learn customer service. He was on his iPhone when I pulled up to exit. He literally snatched the ticket out of my hand not saying any words to me. I asked where the nearest grocery store was, he said "I don't know" and closed his window. The next day 2/1/16 when I left my room in the morning, I made sure it was tidy for housekeeping. I had the ac off as it was a very windy cold day. When I returned late at night, first my keys didn't work so I needed to go downstairs and have new keys made. Second, all my lights were on, AC was set to 64 degrees, and someone filled my bathtub with water, closed the plug, and had dirt in it. The room was freezing when I came in. I immediately called downstairs and asked if someone besides housekeeping was in my room, again hire new staff. The guy on the phone was rude. He told me he doesn't know and I probably set the temp myself when I left. I told him no, I know how to work it. I turned it off and the room was at 75 when I left. He wanted to argue with me over that so I told him ok besides that who would fill my bathtub with water and dirt. His answer was I don't know what you want me to do about it. I don't know who was in your room. I hung up the phone on him because I didn't want to get more mad than I already was. Needless to say I checked out on 2/2/16 and won't return. It's ashame because they have such a nice hotel with great prices and comfortable rooms. If they would hire new staff that is respectable and knows what customer service really is they would have better reviews and more people wanting to come back. The way staff treats customers is what made my decision for the stars I gave. Whoever decides to go to this hotel, hopefully the staff treats you better. read more

The room appeared to be clean, nice amenities, and very spacious. One problem was that the beds were not just firm but rock hard. The second problem was that we could not get the air conditioner's temp to lower. It was just too hot and uncomfortable to sleep. We called the front desk for help. They said they would send maintenance up to check it out. This was at 11:30 at night. We stayed up until after 12:40am waiting and no one ever came. Unfortunately my husband had to be up and out the door around 3:45 am headed out to an early meeting. I later complained to the manager on duty. She said the beds were per IHG standards. So to me that means all of their beds are rock hard chain wide. The manager said that they have no maintenance person on duty at night. She also admits to being the one at the front desk that night but isn't sure why we were told that someone would be coming up to help us out with the air. My mother and I stayed here (in a king suite) for about a month. - Parking passes and/or parking entrance/exit machines worked inconsistently. Machines are poorly placed making it generally difficult to insert your card from inside your car. I often observed guests struggling to use their card to get the gate/rail to open. - Parking lot elevator was not working for several days. - Housekeeping service during our stay was inconsistent. Some maids did a great/clean job; others failed to empty the trashcan(s), or properly replenish toilet paper, fresh towels, toiletries, tea/coffee supplies, and/or paper cups. - No ventilation in the bathroom. - Windows extremely heavy/difficult to open/close. - Sofa looked dirty enough that we never sat on it. Queen sofa-bed was so springy, and the mattress so thin, that it was basically useless (except perhaps to inflict torture on a tired soul). - Certain portions of hotel hallways, including near the elevators leading to our room, often smelled bad. Other times, the smell was masked by a scent apparently sprayed by the hotel. - The lemon, lime, or orange flavored water provided in the lobby was usually bitter. - We ultimately moved to another hotel because we did not feel safe. On our last day, a couple of the hotel's out-of-state guests started an altercation in the parking lot that resulted in a handful of police officers arriving at the scene. The incident started when a tall man began cussing at me for supposedly blocking the path of his exit from the parking lot. I was not blocking anyone, but he was apparently in too much of a rush to care. I was in a line of cars ahead of him and had stepped out of my car to help the lady in the car ahead of me because she couldn't get her parking pass to work. After I confirmed that her card was being rejected, and used mine to let her out, the tall man and his young daughter began to engage in overtly/unnecessarily aggressive behavior. The man yelled/cussed at me, and drove at me (short of hitting me) with his car as a way of threatening me to move out of the way. After my mother stepped out of the car to come to my defense, his daughter stepped out and made things worse. At one point, the daughter reached out and grabbed my mother's phone out of her hand as she was trying to take a picture of their vehicle. Suffice it to say that there was a physical altercation (pushing, pulling, etc.) involving several individuals, police were called, and multiple witnesses were questioned. Officers ultimately confirmed that witnesses had corroborated our version of events and gave us the option to press charges. To avoid a bigger hassle, we accepted the man's and his daughter's (seemingly sincere) apology and both sides went their own way. While all of this was going on, the hotel staff were essentially useless. The male hotel staff member who arrived first should have seen a good portion of what transpired, and/or recognized the seriousness of the situation. However, he refused to call the police despite my repeated requests (I did not have my phone in hand at the moment). Rather than defusing the situation and trying to assess what was really going on, he apparently jumped to the conclusion that I was the problem and refused to acknowledge my position as the victim. Rather than ensuring the safety of my mother, myself, and other guests in the parking lot, he threatened that I (and not the individuals who had been threatening and pushing/pulling at me and my mother) would get arrested if he called the police -- supposedly because I was blocking other cars and was "yelling" at him to call the police. But for the brave gentleman who came to our aid and tried to protect us from the aggressive man, and but for the kind guests who stood by to give their witness statements, we would have been left with the words and actions/inactions of inconsiderate and unprofessional hotel staff. When I discussed the hotel staff's inaction (especially, the problematic/improper behavior of the staff member who had refused to call the police) with the hotel's customer service manager, he stated (and otherwise indicated by way of nods and other nonverbal cues) that he understood what I was saying and did not disagree with my assertions. However, he did not offer any apology. I gave him the opportunity to avoid this negative review. I told him that if the particular staff member offered an apology, I would forget about it; if not, I would feel obliged to write this scathing review -- to let people know that they cannot necessarily rely on the hotel's staff to protect their safety and do the right thing when it matters. He replied, "There is no room for threats here" [except, apparently, when the threats are made against their guests, by their other guests or their own staff, in their own parking lot]; "I will have a conversation with [the staff member], but I'm going to have to ask you to leave." I was extremely disappointed in the room at this hotel. For $200 a night (about which I was shocked) I didn't expect to have to go one floor up or down to get ice. After being told this was a non-smoking hotel I didn't expect the stale smell in my room. Then after walking/taking the elevator to another floor for the ice, I saw the room # placards all had the non-smoking symbol on the other floor. My floor had none of those symbols on the placards. Then I realized that my room used to be a smoking room once upon a time. No wonder my sinuses bothered me. I also found a white gunky substance on my shower faucet handle, a black hair on the floor in the bathroom and my husband found a long brown hair between our sheets. Neither of these hairs belonged to us. We had Just returned from Mexico and had stayed in two other hotels on our stay, one in the states and one in Mexico. While this one was by far the most expensive it was also the worst when you compare price to amenities ratio. read more

What we liked: The Hotel is clean and updated. Nothing like some of the pictures on some of the reviews. We had a king size bed and it was very comfortable. The pillows were also very comfy. We really liked the microwave and the empty fridge in the room. The room had plenty of wash clothes and towels which is very nice. We were facing the parking structure the view was amazing. The location is excellent. Its very close to the mall and there are plenty of banks and restaurants within walking distance. Having a nice bar in the hotel was very nice and the garden is a nice place to chill in the afternoon if there aren't any weddings. The housekeepers Mildred and Sylvia were very kind. We were in a room next to the elevator which was nice because it was away from the other rooms and easy to get in and out of the building. Which leads me to... What we didn't like: Upon check in they gave us a 2 queen bed room and didn't tell us, even though we had asked for a king size bed room. We didn't realize it until we had gone up to the room and had to go back down. Then when the change had been made we get to the room and the keys don't work. So back down we go. Then 2 days in one key stops working. Being next to the elevator was very noisy, but worth the privacy. Being on the side that faces the parking structure it was very noisy as well, yet better than being on the side next to the freeway. The parking situation was horrible on the weekend, but it is free so I guess its ok. The Bar closes at 1am, and the restaurant closes at 10pm on a weekend night?!! That sucked. Last, one window in the room was incredibly dirty on the outside. Overall we were pleased with the hotel room and its location. We have vowed to stay on all future visits at this Hotel, if the price for our stay is within our budget. read more

So bad. Let's start with the manager 'Sam' who checked me in. I had booked through Universal Studios and he made it very clear that "you people who use discount websites" were not their preferred clients. I did mention we would not have needed or wanted to stay there except for our trip to US. A few other REALLY bad service issues happened but all were over showered by room service. Menu states that it is "take out" style but does not mention that the food comes in clamshell take out dishes (so... imagine eating a steak in a container with a lid attached!!) Would have even been ok with paper plates but this was impossible to eat while sitting on a bed. We went down to the kitchen for plates. read more

13-15 February I don't know where some issues people wrote about came from but I didn't experience any. Was recognized as a IHG Rewards member and it took all of 5 mins on a Friday to check-in. Needed extra towels and within 10 I had them. Good hotel to stay if you are going to Universal studio and you don't have to jump on the highway to get there in 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Good travel time to Hollywood Blvd also. The mall with good places to eat was right up the street. Ordered room service after leave Universal studios on Valentines day because everything was packed. Food came hot and fast. The Angus burger was good. Parking was at a great price...."free". Just remember to get your ticket stamped at the front desk so you don't have to pay the parking fee while staying as a guest. Internet wasn't too bad. The room was nice and big. Didn't feel like a closet at all. Had a view of the hillside of Burbank as the sun came up in the morning. Cant beat that. read more

I am so disappointed with this Holiday Inn. My family and I went on vacation to California. We decided to go there to see family. We started in San Francisco and rented a car to end up in San Diego. We always choose a Holiday Inn or Express because we know what to expect. My husband is in a wheel chair so we needed a roll in shower handy cap accessible room. This is actually the first vacation our family has taken since his injury 6 years ago. During our drive to Burbank (our middle stop) California had to shut down the I-5 because they received 4 inches on snow in the mountains. Being from Detroit, when they shut a road down here, there are several other ways to go. Not so much here. We sat at a Denny's until we could find out what happened. We had to drive back to Bakersfield to get a room for the night at a Super 8. The road was not going to open for about 5 more hours. My husband had already been in the car for about 8 hours which is too long for a quadriplegic. I needed to get him somewhere to get him off of his butt-ox. During this time at the Denny's and on the way back to Bakersfield, I called the Holiday Inn Burbank Media Center twice to tell them what had happened and that we just could not get there. All we did was sleep at the Super 8, got up early the next morning, and headed off to Burbank. When I checked in the lady made it sound like we would be getting the room we needed with an additional room attached for our girls which is what I reserved. When we got up to the room there was no roll in shower. It was not the room I reserved and they charged us more for both rooms being attached. Now after the trip, I look at my credit card statement and they have charged us for two no show fees, one for $204.87 and the other for $162.69. That is triple what I already had to pay at the Super 8. If this is the full charge for the rooms I had reserved, I would have saved approximately $50 a night per room than what I did end up paying. This is by far the worst experience I have had with a big hotel chain and will never use them again. I called asking them to remove the charges and they refused. I called the corporate and they opened a case and they also refused to help me. I am still paying $850 for two rooms for two nights and you can't remove these charges. read more

The management does not care about their guests, AT ALL. This is a revenue thirsty location. I have stayed at Holiday Inn's my whole life: I have seen great ones and not so great older locations. The lobby area is beautiful, but the rooms are out of date and the service reflects poor management. Upon check in I was not greeted as a reward member and there was a mold in the bathroom, coffee maker did not work, and the traffic was loud. When brought up to staff they did not apologize, only recommended I stay elsewhere next time. read more

Priceless kindness and hospitality of Manager Mike Over 20 years of travel, I wrote total of 3 reviews. Unless an experience is exceptional, I do not leave a review. Such was the case of our family's stay at Burbank Holiday Inn. We had to leave by 12 noon which was less than 24 hours to evacuate our home for 1 day. With my elderly father confined to bed, this was not an easy task. No respite care would take him because of such short notice. No hotel would guarantee check in before 3pm. We had serious concerns since my father was too weak to stay on a wheel chair for 3 hours. So, we checked into Burbank HI as a last minute resort. We were stressed and fatigued from preparing, lifting, and transporting him to the hotel. We got there and rest was a history. 1. He let us check in right away (waited maximum of 10 minutes) 2. He upgraded our room to a suite with a kitchen even though I made a mistake when i hurriedly reserved a room with a wheel chair sign thinking it was for wheel chair access and it was for hearing impaired. a. I did not want an upgrade when I heard it was one king and a cot to be had for my mom for the concerns of discomfort. Yet, he insisted I check out the room. Sure enough he was right. b. A kitchen allowed us to blend all food for my dad. He can not chew. c. A dinning table allowed us to wheel in our dad during his meal with ease. d. My mom was able to use the couch bed so she could have a good night rest. e. I could use a roll a bed to be with them as a care taker. (It was a complimentary) 3. He gave us extra drink ticket as a gesture of compassion. When I tucked in my dad for the night, I sensed his fatigue for a day's ordeal. Yet, next day it was very clear that he had an amazing night of rest. I felt deeply touched by manager Mike's compassion and kindness. This is what true hospitality is and causes us to return to the place over and over again. Thanks again from the bottom of our family's heart for making my father's last stage of his life on this earth extra ordinarily comfortable additional day. If you are a comfort kitten and look for high maintenance experience, go to Langham of Pasadena and pay for it. But, If you want a true hospitality that is laced with human milk of kindness this place is it! I believe manager Mike deserves a special commendation as an employee of the year! Thank you manager Mike for your kindness, May the Lord bless you as much as you have blessed our family. You will never know how much it meant to us. read more
