I would not recommend staying at this hotel or booking through Expedia, Booking.com, etc. I stayed here over the weekend and was given a room without air conditioning. Apparently, if you book through third-party sites or get a discount, you end up with a room that doesn't include A/C. If you book directly with the hotel, then you can get air conditioning--but this is never mentioned anywhere on their website. The room was uncomfortably hot, and the only solution they offered me was a fan.

    Swamp cooler!! Not an AC

Everything! Room didn't have air conditioning it had a swamp cooler that made the room hotter. The room is outdated broken mirror safety hazard. Bathroom is old shower head was going in all directions. We have a beautiful ocean view room overlooking a dirt parking lot with trash. We couldn't cancel so we just used it to sleep. Never again will I even consider staying here.

Ok, so the bed was fine, they provided a suitable blanket...... everything else is a bit of a circus haha I found myself pointing and laughing throughout the whole overnight stay. There's too much comedy here that would take a novel to talk about! I'm short.... no..... just don't stay here unless you're looking for a good laugh (Just keep your valuables on you since I hear there are no guar

Wow! Regarding all the bad reviews. Thank the good Lord for us, we didn't experience the filth, rodents or bed bugs. Our room was on the 2nd level near the elevators. But didn't hear anything. Of course this was few days after Christmas (wintertime), so bit dead. However, my major complaint would have to be, no heating. It's winter, walking distance from the ocean, had been raining all week and the AC was on too high at night. You know it's too cold when you even see the hotel clerk wearing a jacket shivering a little. We asked her if there was something they could do to turn it down or if there was a control setting in our room we didn't see, she said no sorry but we can give you extra blankets, so that helped. A portable heater would have been nicer. There were a few minor issues like static TV picture & there wasn't many English channels. Took awhile for the water to warm up- but it was backwards as in hot right, cold left. No mini fridge, microwave or Ice machine. We bought ice from liquor store down the street & threw it in sink for our drinks. Parking was one ground level only, not very big, so if you left, you could lose out on parking inside. Ridiculous for a large hotel structure. Elevators were very narrow. We'd wait for next one more than once. Only one plug outlet next to bed. All stupid petty complaints, but kinda important to some people. The good was it was clean, we had towels, the clerk told us if we need more towels, pillows, toilet paper etc, to just ask. So we were thankful we didn't experience the worst like filth, bed bugs or rodents. The free breakfast was Ok- better than typical continental ones with stale pastries & coffee. All & all it wasn't that bad. Any negatives, wasn't reflected on the staff, they did their best. The hotel management seemed more focused on the cosmetics & offering spacious dresser & closet space, but not on the obvious I mention earlier the necessities are sorta important. Don't know if I'd recommend, the price was a bit steep for what it lacked from the others I've stayed at.

We're do I start No parking with in the building (the one in property has limited parking) we had to park across the street in an empty dirt lot. Once we cross the street and got to the hotel through the back of building there is no clear directions where the elevators are. They have two elevators and one of them was out of service so you can only imagine. We have bought beers at the store and wanted ice they don't have an ice machine in property. The floors had stains and were obviously dirty The shower was filthy we found black long hairs and the drain had gunk from who knows what and how long ago. We stayed on the sixth floor and we could still hear everything happening on the street. Not a good stay will not ever stay in facility again and do not recommend.

The service we received was impeccable. From the first day at the front desk, Fernando was so friendly and welcoming. He was able to get us a room with an amazing view. It made the stay even better. The waiters in the kitchen were nice and accommodating for our breakfast choices considering we had a limited food selection due to our current diet. Dental work was a major factor in our food choices this trip since we were having a lot done. This is the first time I've stayed here and I was happy with it. It's currently going through remodeling with a new manager and it's getting better. There's still a long way to go but altogether this trip was great. It has a bit more improving to do before I could give it a higher rating. If I just judged the service I could give it a 5. If for the room alone I could say a 3.5-4. But without some great amenities like a great gym, a pool with better views and a more updated look, I have to be honest and give it a 3.

You get what you paid for! The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was included with the room (only down fall same food for breakfast every morning), the pool area is nice and has good environment. We came during Rosarito fair so we heard all the concerts for the two nights that we were there until very late. So, if you are looking for a quiet oasis get away this is not the place for you. There location is good, with parking and taxis outside at all times. Overall a good experience for the price!

Horrible hotel super dirty I recommend to not walk barefoot on the carpet it was sticky and I don't think they vacuum it the door was broken you couldn't even see the bottom of the pool it was so dirty I think sleeping on the sand outside would have been better

People waiting in line for 2 hours to check in to their mouse infested room.  What a sad joke.

I requested a room change due to these concerns. The second room also had issues. The mattresses were heavily worn and sunken, making sleep uncomfortable. There was an unpleasant odor in the room, and no extra pillows or blankets were available. The pool area appeared poorly maintained. The smaller pool near the jacuzzi had murky water and visible surface buildup. The larger pool appeared cleaner but was very cold and not in use by many guests. It's important to note that La Paloma WIVC is primarily a residential location where people live around or maybe have their vacation homes here. There are two timeshare companies that own properties here. One is world, international vacation club and the other is Worldmark. Your experience here could vary, depending on which timeshare company you use or if you're renting from a private owner so not all reviews are necessarily reviewing the same thing unless they give you unit information or who they're renting from. My experience, we are here from WIVC. We have been using world international for years as I said 40 years at least maybe a little longer. We have been lucky enough to have multiple locations in a small area with its own pool and that has been really wonderful. There's also people who live in this section so there's a mixture of people. This year we had five units for multiple family members to come and get together which is what we usually do typically every other year. I'm currently staying in unit number 61 which is a great two bedroom unit that faces the pool from its balcony. It's a first floor so no stairs and as usual our room is the same as it's been since I've been coming here. We're all international employees a cleaning crew. They clean your room every day and they do everything. I try to help out and wash my own dishes usually but if I leave some in the sink, they take care of that. Once a week in the middle, they changed the sheets the rest of the time they come in and make beds replace all your towels clean the room. It's just really nice. Obviously these rooms are old but they do keep them updated. There's a lot of tile involved. It's a very Mexican aesthetic so I love that about it. One of the negatives might be that there is no air-conditioning in these units, but we know this and we bring fans to keep it cool. The rooms come with everything you need just like any time that you use a timeshare got all of your dishes and cooking utensils full kitchen in the two bedroom unit. You have a master bedroom with a bathroom and there is a common bathroom that can be used for everybody and there is a second bedroom with two twin size beds. So clearly designed for mom Dad and two kids, but it also works out for cousins hanging out together like us! The complex itself is incredibly safe. They have Security walking all the time keeping an eye on things they don't miss much so I feel 100% secure here. Our cars are behind a gated Security gate to in order to get in here you have to go through a security guard and be a resident or have a parking pass because you're staying here on vacation. The landscaping is incredible. It has never changed. It's beautiful garden setting and you really are right on the beach. It really hasn't changed over the years. There are four pools. There are tennis courts. I haven't made it back into the clubhouse this week. I know there's pool tables, but I don't know if they still have the sauna and steam room. I'll update if I get in there. That shows how busy we've been on this trip busy laying in the sun on the beach ha ha There is also an on-site café they're closed on Wednesdays but they have breakfast lunch and dinner. We've eaten there for dinner our first night altogether and it was fabulous. The coconut shrimp is recommended! And family members have had breakfast during this week and enjoyed it so definitely recommended. We had a lot of fun there. Overall, no change in my rating. I've been coming here since I was a teenager and I love it and we hope to continue coming as long as I can.
