I can see one night, but we were there three nights. Yes, we could had packed up and left for another room, but we were with a tour group for 19 days, and I had many items. The reading light is out in the side with the closet. Figuring out the a/c was interesting. It blew warm air one night. I worked the a/c the following day and was able to work it. No ice bucket. The TV has different apps, and it isn't that user-friendly. Be careful of the step up into the bathroom. I banged up my arm doing so. The location is good, only one good restaurant close by.

I didn't complain just paid for it. The second night I had the tostadas de callo. I've had these many times but what I received was old smelly, squishy callo. I had to complain. They didn't charge me for my plate and service was really bad. Room is great and breakfast are amazing but dinner here I have to say not good at all.

We went down stairs and the front desk switched us to a new room, no fuss. We went up to the rooftop bar, great views and great drinks. The food however was a different story. Everyone in my group had issues with the food we sent back some of the food, but it wasn't any better when it returned to the table. Needless to say we did not eat here again. If you stay here visit the bar for the views but avoid the food. Overpriced and very low quality. Lastly, the hotel lobby has no restroom!!! Almost everyday while waiting for our friends in the lobby we had to make the trip up to our room in the 5th floor to use the bathroom. The was such an inconvenience. The hotel is centrally located and there are many restaurants and places to see within walking distance. I personally will not stay here again.

If you're ever in Guadalajara, Mexico and wanting a quaint, boutique MANSION to stay in, look no…read morefurther as Casa Pedro Loza is what you're searching for. I had the pleasure of being an occupant in this mansion 9/2019. Since then, I haven't forgotten this place and lack international travel this 2020 -cause of darn COVID, so I decided to write a review and "travel" this way. I love to travel and get away, do you? This lovely mansion was built for the Archbishop of Guadalajara (Pedro Loza Y Pardave 1815-1898) in 1848. I slept one night in a upstairs bedroom that opened to view the main patio. I loved the main patio with the estrellas hanging above, adding to the magic and charm of the whole mansion. Décor was charming in my room and throughout. I remember the bed not being of a memory foam quality type of comfort -but would do, for one night. Back then, renovations were taking place on the open rooftop, but that didn't stop me or other guest from enjoying the stunning views of the city. Nice view of the Roman Catholic, Guadalajara Cathedral or also called Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady from here. I didn't get to see the underground tunnel, as I hear, there is a "secret tunnel" leading to the Cathedral used by the Archbishop. Breakfast is included in my stay here. Service was nice and friendly. Took off a star for plumbing issues throughout the mansion, construction in some areas was a bit of an eye-sore and bed quality during my stay. I'd stay here again, if and when I'm Guadalajara, Mexico. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping in all parts of the world, out there :)

I am writing to share my experiance regarding my recent stay in Hotel Riu Guadalajara this April…read more While I have previousely considered this Hotel one of the best in the city, I was disappointed by several aspects of my experiences. Specifically, my room rate included mini-bar service, yet was never refilled during my stay. Addotionally, I was disappointted to find that the Mujeres Latina marichi group---one of the Hotel's primary entertainment highlights-- has been replaced by a lower-level performance mariachi. While the stuff members remain very professional and kind I belive these service and management decisions have negatively impacted the overall guest experience. Sincerely, Guiilermo Flores

I pressed them and magically room was ready. I tipped them for their efforts as i was tired from traveling and just wanted any room at that point. Only issues were the elevators were small, old and slow. Also, be careful of having bellman help you with luggage when arriving to these hotels. Not just this one but any of them. I dont mind tipping but i can handle my own luggage and find my own suite. Id come back here to stay.

I came here to stay because it was the first time my Mom comes to Mexico and I wanted her to have an amazing experience that feels authentically close to the Mexican culture and for our surprise it was the Mexican culture inside of a hotel. It's small but full of color, personality, and warmth. The people who work here are amazing people. They are sweet, friendly, accommodating, helpful. I can keep going. The rooms are cozy. I grabbed a package where the breakfast is included. Breakfast start at 7:30am and ends at 11:00am. Luis is an amazing gentlemen. This charming former hacienda is stunning. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and the artisanal look and charm was evident everywhere. We were greeted promptly after figuring out where to park the car. Tip 1: If you're driving, drive up to the hotel, check in and then park across the street in the gated garage. There is no valet service at La Villa de Ensuenos, so you'll need to get your luggage and walk back across the street to the hotel. The rooms are very nice. They are beautifully decorated and have everything you would need. Tip 2: There are no mini fridges in the rooms. We were given a drink coupon for our first night and a breakfast coupon for the following morning. The courtyard, pool area, La Collection, and the eatery area are exquisite. You don't feel like you're in Tlaquepaque or even in a city. It's so quiet and refreshing. My wife was thoroughly impressed which doesn't happen very often. In Room 1, the AC unit did make a lot of noise and our bed as with most beds in Mexico was extremely firm. The hot and cold water in the bathroom worked and had excellent water pressure. We also like the little card from Mari who was are assigned housekeeper. Breakfast was delicious. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. They made accommodations for me as a vegan which was very nice. My coffee was hot and not weak. My wife ordered a child plate of pancakes and a side of fruit. Tip 3: Like everywhere in Mexico, the beans are fried with Manteca or pork lard. We will stay at La Villa del Ensueno again and look forward to enjoying more of the amenities.

It is part of the luxurious Quinta Real brand, which often places their hotel properties in historical buildings. The Guadalajara property was actually built in 1986, but constructed as a traditional colonial-style hacienda on land once owned by the Martinez family. It has been described as an oasis, and that is a perfect impression. When you step inside, you're enclosed by high stone walls, reminiscent of a castle or palazzo, surrounded by lush gardens, birdsong, splashing fountains, antiques, and artwork by artists such as Sergio Bustamante. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in and elegant indoor/outdoor restaurant. Everything is hushed and refined, in direct contrast with the noise and traffic just outside the doors. The very best part of the experience, however, was the impeccable, accommodating, and kind staff. We both felt so pampered, without any sort of stiffness. ours was a truly wonderful stay and we cannot recommend the Quinta Real enough.
