Oh my God. I've never had such a strong opinion about a hotel. Right off the bat, it's pretty depressing. I'm not from Miami, but Miami lakes is probably not where you want to be hanging out of you're from out of town. The hotel appears as if it was randomly placed, then quickly forgotten. The staff doesn't want to be there, possibly because the customers treat them so badly. If you stay in this hotel, you will be so far removed from any sense of human decency that you won't know if it's possible to ever find it again. I will have to stay in 100 bed and breakfasts run by kind old couples before I can get this taste out of my mouth. To be more specific: the night I showed up, they informed me that I had no room (for a reason they couldn't disclose) and that I would be moved to a somehow more depressing sister hotel, the Shula. After spending one miserable night in a hotel I didn't reserve, I was told by the manager that I couldn't move back into the Indigo because I hadn't checked out of the Shula. If I wanted to move into the Indigo I would have to pay for both rooms for all 3 nights. "There is nothing we can do about it" they kept saying until I completely lost all decency (or rather, stooped to their level) and yelled at the manager over the phone. This immediately solved the problem and I could move into the room I reserved weeks ago without having to also pay for another random room at the Shula. I hate that this hotel drove me to yell at some poor guy just so they would honor the most basic hotel policies. Never stay here. Never support a business that cares this little about it's customers. EDIT: 15 minutes after writing this review, I could not unlock my hotel room door. I tried getting a new key, but the door still did not open. After sitting the hallway for 20 minutes (it's midnight by the way), the front desk told me they need to call an engineer to fix the battery in the door. Luckily a colleague of mine has a room down the hall with an extra bed. Hopefully I will be able to get into me room in the morning and get my bags before my flight home. This is a tragic and hilariously degrading hotel. EDIT #2: 1:43am... Literally an hour after my last update, trying to sleep in my colleagues extra bed (because I am, of course, locked out of my room), a woman starts yelling and banging on the door next to ours. She is screaming at the top of her lungs that her boyfriend has locked her out. At one point we peer out our door to ask if she's okay and she cusses us out, turning toward us looking like she might attack. Since then we have been silent inside our room listening to terrifying noises of screaming, pounding, and physical fighting. There was clearly an assault and now most of the floor is awake trying to calm her down. It sounds like the police have arrived. I truly don't know if I can condemn this hotel for ruining every one of my three nights here. It's almost not it's fault, because even if evil, I don't think it could devise a master plan so horrible and heartless. Nevertheless, this is a review site, and there are other hotels in Miami to stay. Don't risk it. Don't let it slowly break you down the way it has so many people. Find another place and let this hell hole slowly wither out of business. read more

The bedding was dirty. I found hair in the sheets that were not mine. I requested that the sheets be changed; Luis and Rafael assured me that housekeeping would be on staff 24 hours. Alberto told me that's not true and that I will "Need to sleep in the dirty sheets or make the bed myself!" Terrible customer service. The cleanliness of the hotel is not up to par. I understand why Don Shula removed his name. The front desk staff needs to be fired. They are trash employees with no customer service. Lastly, Alberto refused to remove the dirty sheet and brought new sheets with a cigarette hole in them. I would not recommend this hotel at all. SAVE YOUR MONEY! read more

It's actually quite picturesque with a view of the pool and the golf course. The rooms are decorated with vibrant colors - almost a retro feeling to the decor. My one complaint would be mold. Near the patio-side of the lobby there is a strong mold smell. Also scattered along the bathroom ceiling in the room, obvious mold. With a little additional upkeep, this would be a really nice place. read more

Staying here since power is still out at my house from the hurricane Irma. The service here at the hotel has been great. My family & I were able to get an executive suite for a decent price a night, but still was an expensive total at the end overall. The room are newly renovated, but their were certain things I didn't like in the room. By the bed night stand their is no powerful outlets & that was weird. The lamp or clock was not even plugged in when I first got into the room. The shower is awesome! The pipes that run through the walls for the plumbing is invisible. When you walk into the bathroom the first thing you notice is the black pipes above the ceiling. The beds are very comfortable, but the pillows are sooo thick & it is hard for me to sleep. Great hotel & I recommend coming to this hotel. read more

I was not impressed with this hotel property. When I arrived in appeared to be a recently renovated hotel that had cool nostalgic features. The check in process was great and I was instructed that there was a restaurant within the hotel as well as in a restaurant adjacent. When I got to my room however the air conditioning was set at 60° in the room was cold and smelled very musty. It was piping that came through the ceiling in the bathroom and give it kind of a warehouse look even though the hotel was not a warehouse type hotel. When I inquired about the room being at 60° they stated that they have to keep the air conditioners that cold or the mold will grow really bad. I can see that as the room smelled very musty. On a great note the outdoor pool in the sitting area is outstanding you're able to have a nice courtyard feel go and get a beer and sit down and enjoyed some nice relaxing time at the hotel. Overall I will not stay at this hotel in the future due to the musty smell in the room. read more

We flew into FLL and had a cruise going out of port Everglades, but wanted somewhere nice to stay away from the hustle, and we found it with this hotel. We checked in early, and they hotel was able to handle our request. Then when we got to the room, it was a cut little room, well actually a large room. Me and my friend stayed in the double bed room. The room has a foyer area, sitting are with a couch and chair, sleeping area with two very comfortable pillow top beds, but best of all the bathroom... The shower in this bathroom is amazing; Ioved it so much I am having one like it installed in my bathroom when I get home! The building and hotel are obviously older, but they have done a great job at keeping it up and yet, recovering some of the history. The room has a modem retro decor feel and very open floor plan. The bathroom is really nice with an open shower and exposed plumbing (a good thing). The area around the hotel is nice. The hotel sits on a golf course, and the pool is amazing here. The landscaping is on point and the staff are great! Can't wait to come back here! read more

Not a bad place. The location was perfect for us and the room was nice although it did smell moldy. The decor doesn't work well for a hotel, kind of feels like a rental not a hotel. Bed was comfy and we we're upgraded to a suite so that was cool. I give it three stars but if a comfy bed and clean room is all you need... It will work. Ok this place was horrible! As soon as we walked in we knew we were screwed. The room smelled awful like B.O and you can hear the flushes and loud conversations of your neighbors. The doors slam so if someone is leaving at 4 am surprise! BOOM! The linens were dirty and I couldn't breathe in there . I have asthma so my dad was looking around to see what the problem was and he found it . The vent was so full of dust when we turned on the air it was floating throughout the room. There was water damage on the bathroom door and it wouldn't even close. There were some sketchy ppl there too. Even one guy trying to get in but it looked like he had done it before . There's a pool and no jacuzzi and the location is awful. I ran out of there as fast as I could and went to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale and was a blessing. I will never go back or recommend this hotel. read more

I stayed at the Hotel Indigo in Miami Lakes for five nights this past week, and felt like I received very good value for my money ($95/night). The plusses: Secure, free parking Safe neighborhood Convenient to all areas of Miami, just off the Palmetto Expressway Clean rooms and common areas Quality shower Standard King room was spacious, bed was firm but comfortable Other amenities: There is a modest fitness center with two treadmills, an elliptical machine, a stationary bike, and a nautilus center. I didn't use it during my stay, but the machines appeared to be in good condition. The pool also seemed well cared for, and was not heavily used during my stay, despite the heat. I think this hotel is used mostly by business travelers, which can be an advantage if you want an entire swimming pool to yourself. The hotel restaurant has a somewhat limited menu, and the dining room is not a separate space but is simply an area to the side of the lobby. Probably not ideal if you want to dine in one evening, but there also appears to be dining outside, near the pool, which would be agreeable during the fall and winter months. To sum it up, I can understand why some would prefer to pay a premium for a similar hotel on Miami Beach, but if you plan to rent a car, do some shopping and otherwise not spend every moment in Miami on the beach, Hotel Indigo in Miami Lakes is a great alternative. You're 20 minutes from the airport and a bit less than 30 minutes from Aventura and Dolphin malls. South Beach can be reached via 826 to the coast, and then ambling down A1A in about 40 minutes. I'd seriously consider staying here again on a return visit. read more

Well after my entire fiasco the company told us they were going to refund our money for one out of our two nights when we checked out the next morning. We waited for a month and then sent a message to them asking where our one night refund was. Two days ago we got a notice letting us know they decided not to refund us. So thanks for ruining my trip with your disgusting room, then feeding us a line about a refund when we vacated our room to appease our angst. Well I hope everyone reads how dirty your rooms were, how sad your housekeeping service was, and your obvious lack of customer service, honesty, and integrity as a company. Bravo read more

The wi-fi is absolutely useless, I'm currently "connected" but it only shows a signal 33% of the time and even when it's on it isn't connected to the internet. No microwave, complimentary breakfast. This is my second stay here. I love this hotel. When I went to Atlanta last summer, I stayed at Hotel Indigo just because I loved this one so much. Clean. Friendly Staff. Easy Check-in & Check-out. This stay I was in a King Bed, leisure, very nice except for the exposed pipes in the bathroom, creeped me out. Yes they were painted black but I could still see corrosion. I'm only giving 3 stars because of one employee otherwise it would have been 1 Star. My husband and I arrived for a business trip and would be staying in the hotel for 2 nights. My husband was working away from the hotel and I would have to be working from the room one day. When we arrived, Natalie was at the front desk and very nice and pleasant!! We were given our room and when we got to it the smell of mold and moisture was overwhelming!!! After being in the room a few minutes we felt moisture everywhere. The sheets on the bed were even damp. We immediately left and went to dinner. After returning it was the same. So, we went to the front desk and explained the situation. Natalie helped us again and was extremely helpful and understanding. She changed us to another room in another part of the hotel and gave us breakfast vouchers for the morning. I asked about lunch options for the next day knowing I would be working from the room and she said there were sandwiches near the bar area that I could get and pay for at the desk. I was fine with that. The new room was fine. No issues. The bed wasn't that comfortable but the room was ok. The next day for lunch I went to the lobby to get a sandwich and had to try to find someone who worked there. Finally a man who must have been doing the same yelled out and a tall man appeared from the back to the counter and said "what's up". The guy was asking about local food and the guy behind the counter was rude and the man left. I then asked about the sandwiches and he said "Nope, none there". So, I asked if there were any other food options on the property for lunch and was told about a McDonalds down a few blocks (same as he told the man before). I explained I didn't have a car as I was working from the room that day and his response was "I don't know what to tell you. You can go look if there is a muffin over there" and he walked away. Poor Customer Service!!! We checked out the next day where Natalie was again at the front desk with a smile and was extremely nice and when I told her what happened was very apologetic and got the manager who was also very nice and offered us a discount when we came back. We thanked him and declined the discount. We will not stay in this hotel again!!! Definitely not the quality we expected. But again...Natalie is a star employee and exudes amazing customer service!!!!! read more

In town 4 nites for the Orange Bowl and Indigo is close to the arena and away from the team's S. Beach crazy bash just 12 miles away - at less than half the $. The room was a WOW! #1125 Keys cute, clean and quiet. Great bed and blackout blinds. Air Force jump team also staying there as were fans from both teams - yet very quiet and easy access to fwy, parking and pool. BFast latte at the lobby bar was only passable but the in-room coffee was surprisingly good - even if making lots of plastic waste for each single cup. Shower was Buck Rodgers (why not just use hardware that is easy to use?) and no noisy fridge in the room for me to unplug - ample ice just down the hall. Shula spa/golf on Main is a short walk and his steak house is next door. Great little Cuban bfast place behind the closed Chevron. read more

I had to drive down to Miami Lakes from Orlando on short notice for a funeral. I usually would have booked with a chain hotel like Ramada or Marriott, but I decided to give Hotel Indigo a try. Reservations were simple and straight forward. The front desk staff was very nice and very helpful. Loved the room! Very comfortable, well laid out and impeccably clean. Didn't get a chance to eat at Shula's Steakhouse (right next door), but the next time I find myself in South Florida, I will definitely return to Hotel Indigo. read more

The review I wrote for this hotel did not post (hmmmm) on their website, nor did the identical 2nd review, so thought I'd post it here. This Indigo hotel is an older property that was redone, with very modern style and fixtures. Unfortunately, I could not care less about that. The most important thing for me is to be comfortable, which I really wasn't here. #1. Air conditioning insufficient. Despite adjusting thermostat as low as she'd go, I never achieved a comfortable temperature in the room. #2. Abhorrent wireless service. It was so slow, they would be better without! Pony Express was faster! #3. Mediocre breakfast. I could not find anything to eat in their buffet (which was $8 extra). Not big on steamed fried eggs with hard yokes. Yech. The positive thing was that after I took a couple of bites and left it, they told me "no charge" on the breakfast. #4. Pushy desk clerk & housekeeping. They really wanted that room the next morning. Housekeeping was knocking on the door, and when I walked past the desk clerk at breakfast, she asked if I was ready to check out. "No, but when I'm standing at the front desk with my suitcase, you'll know". #5. Failure to post review similar to this one on their website. Anyway, you might like this hotel if you are into unique décor and don't mind being a little warm. I'm probably looking somewhere else to stay next time I'm in the area. read more

First the pros: nice location between the airport and the stadium (I was visiting for a dolphins game). Easy to get to airport, stadium and pretty straightforward to drive to the beach. Love how quiet the location is. Didn't hear a peep in 2 days that I stayed. walking distance to strip malls to get what you need. The bathroom was pretty good and modernized. Bed was comfortable Now the cons: pool was surrounded by lots foliage, much of which was in the pool, so was not desirable to swim in. I went to go get breakfast and the buffet was "closed for a private party". WTF? the TV in the room is pretty small, not HD and feels about 20 years old. No safe in these rooms either. read more

So construction is still going on, which is leaving a construction smell throughout the facility. And now the power went out...has been out for about 20 minutes now and still out. At first i was a little iffy about this place i booked this thru hotwire and read bad reviews about it so I instantly didnt wanna go so me and my friends gave it a try . The rooms arent bad at all very cold when we walked in soon as we got to our room we noticed There was no microwave or refrigerator so we requested one 30 minutes after we got there here we are two days later we still dont have neither of one. The tvs are small like a 28 inch and not clear at all. Went to bed woke up and walked into the bathroom and there was red ants on the counter a little confused about that. The good thing there is that the hotel offers free parking and a good location this hotel is more like a 3.2 instead of a 3 definitely not a 4. read more

Checked in and then right out. Room reeked of mold and the ac had mold all over it. Patricia at the front desk was not very helpful and it seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. Pool closes at 9pm! No free breakfast when all the other hotels in the area offer it. Decor kinda tacky. Would not recommend this place to anyone! read more
