    Pretty grounds and nice neighborhood.

Not a bad place. The location was perfect for us and the room was nice although it did smell moldy. The decor doesn't work well for a hotel, kind of feels like a rental not a hotel. Bed was comfy and we we're upgraded to a suite so that was cool. I give it three stars but if a comfy bed and clean room is all you need... It will work. Employees were very nice, friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely as well as the neighborhood.

The dirty vent blasting dust. Hasn't been cleaned in months maybe even a year

Ok this place was horrible! As soon as we walked in we knew we were screwed. The room smelled awful like B.O and you can hear the flushes and loud conversations of your neighbors. The doors slam so if someone is leaving at 4 am surprise! BOOM! The linens were dirty and I couldn't breathe in there . I have asthma so my dad was looking around to see what the problem was and he found it . The vent was so full of dust when we turned on the air it was floating throughout the room. There was water damage on the bathroom door and it wouldn't even close. There were some sketchy ppl there too. Even one guy trying to get in but it looked like he had done it before . There's a pool and no jacuzzi and the location is awful. I ran out of there as fast as I could and went to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale and was a blessing. I will never go back or recommend this hotel.

    Exposed pipes in room 1123.

This is my second stay here. I love this hotel. When I went to Atlanta last summer, I stayed at Hotel Indigo just because I loved this one so much. Clean. Friendly Staff. Easy Check-in & Check-out. This stay I was in a King Bed, leisure, very nice except for the exposed pipes in the bathroom, creeped me out. Yes they were painted black but I could still see corrosion. Just out of place for such a nice place.

All your suggestions and help were perfect, and I appreciate it so much. The room looked beautiful, you and your staff, who were so friendly, professional and helpful are AWESOME and AMAZING. All your staff and workers were always smiling and so accommodating and helpful to ensure our evening was a success and it was. The food was delicious and plentiful and everyone was pleased, and you know it's not easy to please teenagers. LOL Your bartender, who always had a smile on his face, made an array of colorful and fruity drinks for the kids, all non-alcoholic of course, which they loved as it made them feel grown up. The DJ called me in advance to choose music and he "rocked it". I heard from the kids, so many times, that they had more fun, the music was way better and the food was tastier at the banquet than at their Prom. What a compliment that is! Personally, I can't wait to plan another party at your facility. Again, I thank you for professionalism, assistance, kindness, and advice. I have showed pictures and told everyone what a success the evening was, and the school will be looking into your facility for events next year.

Like many women's clubs in Florida, the Hollywood Women's Club was founded in 1922 during the Florida Land Boom years. In the 1920's women's clubs were formed to give back to the community. They became a way for women to get out of the house and assert their independence. They allowed women to get involved in politics and launched the women's rights movement. The Hollywood Women's Club predated the founding of the city and in 1924 they joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The first club members were the wives of officers in the J.W. Young Organization which was the development company building Hollywood. They met in the first clubhouse that was built on land donated by the founder of Hollywood, Joseph W. Young in 1927. Early club projects included donating hundreds of books to the first public library, holding tag sales to pay for health screenings for children, giving migrating farmers assistance with housing and welfare, getting the Miami Telephone Co. to bring the first telephone line to town, and collecting $12,000 during a war bonds drive. Today the club supports literacy programs, funds a youth scholarship, participates in the Hollywood Historical Society, supports the neighborhood crime watch, and provides financial aid to many state charities through the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The original plans for the clubhouse included an ornate Mediterranean Revival style. After the collapse of the land boom due to the Great Depression and several hurricanes the design was scaled back to a more affordable $25,000 Classical Revival style building in 1927. The building was listed as a a local historical landmark in 1985, and added to the National Register of Historic Place in 1995. Between 2012 and 2014 money was raised by the club and added to a grant to prevent the clubhouse from sinking into the sand. Other cosmetic work was also completed on this charming historical building. In 2022 the Hollywood Women's Club celebrated their 100th anniversary. During this time further electrical improvements and upgrades to the kitchen were made. Today the clubhouse is available to be rented for private events. The 1,200 square foot main event room has hardwood floors and a grand piano and can accommodate 60 people. There is also a catering kitchen. Information on how to rent the clubhouse and join and volunteer with this important civic organization can be found on the club website. If there are any upcoming events you can find that information as well. For instance they hold 2 round bingo nights for $10. The next bingo night is May 30th and they serve inexpensive drinks including alcohol and snacks. For over 100 years the women of Hollywood have been coming together to improve their local community as well as the state of Florida. Women's clubs have a legacy of helping their communities and it's nice to see that this one is still going strong today.

My wife and I used South Florida Events for our wedding, and the buffet style food was excellent,…read morehowever, we do not recommend the catering service for a wedding for a few reasons. When we initially met with the caterer 7 months before our wedding, we had told them that we estimated 130 guests, but it would probably be less. They told us that wouldn't be an issue and to let them know a month out a final guest count. However, a month out from our wedding, they were trying to charge us for a full 130 when we had told them that our guest count was 105 (including the bride & groom). Our wedding planner was able to convince them to charge us for only 115 people, so we ended up inviting another 4 guests since we were paying for the food. So we had 109 guests and were paying for 115. We couldn't believe it and were completely disappointed to later find out that some of the food ran out, specifically the mahi mahi entree, when we had paid for 6 more people than we ended up having in attendance. Those who did not get to eat mahi were given more of the appetizers to compensate. Per our contract we had understood that we paid for more than the amount of actual guests and we can't understand why a main entree had run out before two full tables had been served. The caterer was not only late to the venue for initial set up, but was also very late to serve the food, after it had been blessed and a thank you speech from the father of the bride, to let our guests eat. This lead to many of our guests questioning both my wife and myself when we would actually have dinner. The food was good, but due to the service, we would not recommend this company for your catering needs ever.

Dated lock on the patio door and barebones chairs on the balcony but not that big of a deal. Now to the bathroom and this place is straight out of 1994....peach tile walls, podium sink and chair height toilet at least but the tub shower is actually like a inch higher then normal tubs so definitely got to take a big step getting in... Now to check the water....hot water took almost 5 PLUS mins to START to warm up for bathroom sink and outside sink....turns on hot water for the shower and it's starts to get warm in 2-3 mins but definitely worried that I'm gonna have to take lukewarm showers all week. So I go to the hotel resturant thinking this was former Shula hotel and I sorta remember Shula steakhouse so I thought that's what I would be getting....nope. Decent egg rolls appetizer but steak was Texas Roadhouse ish(cooked properly but very little seasoning or flavor) I did ask the front desk clerk if the hot water is slow and he agreed then I made my way to another zip code back to the room as there is only two elevators and wouldn't you know it that the elevator closest to my room broke down for a day so I took the stairs. At least it was quiet throughout the week but I think that's just from not too many people staying on that side of the hotel. So I think this place is still riding on the nostalgia on yesteryear but a standard Holiday Inn is light years ahead of this place.

I called the hotel and asked if we could pay for an early check-in. They said there was a fee (which I was fine with), and said they would have the room ready in an hour. We killed time in the area and then went to the hotel a little after an hour later. When we arrived at the hotel I went in, and waited in the front desk line. The guy was incredibly rude, and just said "it's not ready, it will be another hour." So, we drove around some more and came back another hour later. It still wasn't ready. We waited around and ended up checking in at the regular check-in time. When we got to our room there were people sitting right outside our door at a table drinking beer and talking super loud. I ignored it and decided to take a shower before trying to take a nap. However, there was no hot water. I called the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do about the people (since we had a pool side room) but were sending someone to fix the water. A half hour later someone came, said it was fixed and I tried to shower again, and it was still ice cold. Called again, and someone came back out. It was a total of two hours waiting for someone to check and fix the water. But the thing that really irritated me was how rude the front desk people were about it. I know I was tired but it was one thing after another.
