If we could give more stars, we would. We travel. A lot. And honestly... exceptional service usually happens outside the U.S. (sad, but true). But Hotel Jerome broke the pattern. From the moment we arrived, it felt like someone secretly upgraded the entire country. We kept asking each other, "Are we still in the U.S.??" The service here is beyond extraordinary -- warm, intuitive, never rushed, and always with a genuine smile. You're treated like a VIP from the first hello. There's never a "no," never a "we can't." It's always, "Absolutely, we'll take care of it." Special shout-out to Peter at the front desk. This man deserves a raise, a medal, and maybe his own statue in the lobby. He went above and beyond in every way and made us feel like the most important guests in Aspen. And Leslie at Prospect -- pure joy. Friendly, genuine, you can tell she loves what she does. The setting is undeniably beautiful--upscale, stylish, and a great place for a cocktail. The drinks themselves were excellent, well crafted and worth the stop. Unfortunately, the service did not match the atmosphere. After receiving our drinks, we were told we had to leave because of a private event. It felt abrupt and poorly handled, especially given the level of hospitality one would expect at a place like Hotel Jerome. Overall, while the bar itself has all the makings of a great experience, the service left us disappointed. A little more courtesy and communication would have made all the difference. read more

Stupidly expensive for mediocre drinks and service in their Living Room bar. $22 for a six ounce coffee with Jameson. $14 for a bottle of beer. And then a mandatory 20% tip towards a dimwit server who seemed clueless during our entire stay. Yes, it is Aspen, but this is outright robbery. read more

We didn't actually stay at the hotel but visited the bar on site and then hung out at the lounge for a bit. Beautiful bars inside and a nice fireplace. The bathrooms are nice and clean. You can access them from the stairs by the cafe if you need to use the bathroom. The cafe is nice but seemed overpriced when there a good cafes in town. Staff really friendly and going out of their way to greet every person that enters. Would consider staying at in the future. One of the only places in downtown Aspen open on Thanksgiving. read more

Came in the off season and sat inside at the bar. Venue is great and historic. Had the burger and I would not recommend. Very bland and fries were also unseasoned. The Bloody Mary was really delicious, I would recommend that. Service was just okay, they did seem to be busy even though there was a lot of staff visible. I've stayed at a lot of very nice hotels, which is not a flex. I say this to set the stage for my expectations. From the moment I stepped out of the car to the moment I checked out, I received nothing but 5 star service. At $750/night you expect nothing less. Manager Chris was exceptional and the woman at the front desk who checked me in (forgot her name - accent, brown hair) was very helpful and explained all the benefits of traveling as an American Express traveler and what that means at their hotel. And "by the way, we upgraded you to a suite." Such service. Every guy at the valet kiosk was a pro. "Why are you carrying that yourself? Let me grab that!" "Where are you off to tonight? You should go here." "Have a great day!" "Great to see you again!" It's the little things. Wearing masks, you can lose that personal connection with people and especially hospitality workers, not here. Stay here. Seriously. I'll be back in March. read more

While the food is excellent at the Jerome, the automatic gratuity is ridiculous because the service does not match. I ate outside three times last week and I had to ask for everything!! Two of the days it was very hot outside, but enjoyed the sunshine and we ran out of water. I had to literally get up and ask the bartender for water myself. Both times we left to have dessert somewhere else because I didn't feel like waiting and having to ask !!! if you're paying auto gratuity then the service should be excellent. It was beyond poor. Everything was absolutely incredible! The staff was consistently friendly and attentive. The hotel is stunning, and everything always looked picture-perfect. The 11-course meal was delicious and a delightful experience. Our room was perfect, and the maid service was excellent! Traveling with our two little dogs was made easy with the fantastic amenities for them in the room, and everyone was very kind to them. We loved everything about Hotel Jerome. Do not stay at the Hotel Jerome - much better alternatives in area I travel extensively--more than 225 nights a year--in cities such as New York, Miami, London, Dubai, Spain and various locations, primarily for business. I prefer five-star properties and often remain loyal to a single hotel if the service, amenities, and overall experience are up to par. Over time, many of these hotels have become second homes, where I build long-standing relationships with management and staff who value my consistent patronage and positive demeanor. However, I will never stay at the Hotel Jerome in Aspen. Recently, I booked and pre-paid (at the hotel's request) a stay for my wife and me from January 5 to January 10--intended as a romantic holiday, based on a friend's recommendation as an alternative to the St. Regis. Unfortunately, on December 15, my mother, who has been under ongoing medical care, was hospitalized and may not be discharged. Because I need to remain within immediate reach of her, traveling six to nine hours away became impossible. I notified both Expedia (where I am a Platinum member) and the Jerome Hotel of my need to cancel--three full weeks in advance. Expedia was prepared to issue a refund but required the hotel's approval. Despite having ample time to rebook or resell the room--especially during what the hotel itself has described as a busy season--the Jerome Hotel flatly refused to refund my nearly $9,000. The staff even remarked how busy they were, and how prices had increased, yet apparently they were still incapable (or unwilling) to resell the room. In my many years of traveling and spending significant sums at five-star hotels, I have never experienced such a glaring lack of empathy and customer service. The Jerome offered to shift my reservation to March, but I have no desire to stay where I've been treated so poorly. I would rather lose my money than reward this kind of behavior. I plan to inform everyone I know--friends, family, business associates, and my extensive network--about this unfortunate experience. If you value genuine hospitality and contemporary luxury, look elsewhere. The St. Regis, for example, or the Little Nell in Aspen, are both known for their customer-centric approach and commitment to excellence. As a Platinum Marriott guest, I know firsthand they would never handle such a situation with such inflexibility and disregard. To summarize: * Complete Lack of Empathy: Refusal to refund or show any understanding of a family medical emergency. * Outdated Approach: Claims of high demand yet an inability (or unwillingness) to rebook the room. * Inconsistent with Five-Star Standards: Anyone who travels as frequently as I do understands that real five-star establishments prioritize customer satisfaction and loyalty. The Jerome Hotel's behavior is a direct contradiction to the standard of hospitality I expect--and have consistently experienced--at upscale properties around the world. It is my sincere recommendation that future travelers seeking a luxurious Aspen getaway choose properties like the St. Regis or Little Nell, where the staff is more accommodating and the accommodations are worthy of their reputation and price point. Classic. Timeless. Upscale yet almost attainable. It's Aspen. Hotel Jerome is a must see. Service at Prospect, one of their dining spots, is lovely and I've been for brunch and drinks. Never disappointed and it feels like a true piece of history. Take anyone here and they'll be impressed. Price wise you pay for the experience but the food is stellar as well. We enjoyed their fresh made juices, omelettes and breads. The stuffed French toast was heavenly and I'd go back for that alone. There is a hotel, a spa and many activities to keep you busy here. I can't wait to experience this diamond again! read more

The staff here is exceptional. It's a quaint hotel with historic vibes. It's not a Four Seasons if that's what's you're expecting, but still upscale. Amenities were great and rooms were spacious. The Jerome is a historical aspen landmark that lives up to its glory! Excellent service, clean COVID safe rooms and amazing food. When I say amazing food, everything is deliciously constructed by food wizards to blow your mind. The atmosphere of the hotel is aspen-historical with a tasteful twist of all the modern tech normalities. I recommend asking around and seeing if you could get a "historical tour" of the place because there is sooo much cool " wow this place is old" little facts in this hotel. Mixed bag for me. For $2k a night you expect something prettaaay good. Good: -Rooms are nice and well appointed and pretty big. I got upgraded to a suite. The hotel is old though so they aren't like super stylish rooms. -Free snacks in the minibar. Every luxury hotel should do this. -The front desk ladies and the restaurant hostesses were very nice. Not as good: -The front doormen / bellmen aren't very friendly and all I did was hand them $20s all weekend for every little thing I did - maybe that's not enough in Aspen. They did get the job done though. -The food was generally passable but nothing special. - The spa was in a cramped basement. Overall I think this is more of a "visit, don't stay" kinda place - for my money the St. Regis is better. Jerome is better than Little Nell though. Little Nell has bad vibes through and through. read more

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago this past June. as I was preparing to go down to the pool and relax, I took off my stack of jewelry, including Hermes bracelets, in MY bathroom, on the shelf, not thinking anything of it, regarding the hotels great reviews. When i returned, the maids had finished turning down our beds, I went to go grab my bracelets, and all were gone. I cannot express how angry this made me. these we're special gifts from my late great grandmother, and I have never been so ashamed of a hotel. would NOT recommend if you cherish your nice, idolized items. read more

The folks at Hotel Jerome are outstanding. I was at the airport ready to fly out when I realized I had left my work phone at J Bar the day before. I called the hotel to confirm that it was found and mentioned that I was at the airport but would try to work something out. Moments later, Ashley from the front desk called me back to inform me that one of the bellhops was running my phone over to me at the airport! It was one of the kindest gestures I've ever experienced from the hospitality industry and I'm super grateful to both Ashley and Lander for going out of their way to ensure I wasn't inconvenienced. Went for a massage. Bianca was great; very friendly and one of those masseuses that is really in tune with your body. She could tell where my sore spots were and really worked them out. I feel like if you're in Aspen and you've not been to the historic hotel, you ought to. Be warned, it's not a cheap meal - picture $25 burgers. It is professionally run, and you'll get fantastic service and it will be well timed. Even when busy. We're planning on copying the Asian Slaw because it was great! Beer selection was fine. This is probably the best luxury resort hotel I've stayed in for a business trip! Spacious rooms with a full bathroom which includes a huge tub and separate shower. Great views of the mountains. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. They take care of all of your needs. Hotel is in walking distance of restaurants and great designer shopping such as Gucci, Theory, Dior and many more. Complimentary snacks with an expresso machine and fridge. Everyday turn down service. Drinks at the hotel bar are very generous and go great with the chicken lollipops. read more

Ah, the J Bar from days gone by. One can only smile at the illegal things that went on there . . . The Jerome is now managed by Rock Resorts and what with the renovation and new addition the private owners have done, this place does truly rock. Nice people running the place. Get ya anything ya want (come on now, within reason, that is). Beautiful rooms in the historic part of the hotel (didn't stay in the new rooms), and classic style get them a solid 4+ stars. We were there for a wedding and the room prices were cheap ($159 a night), compared to what they run during ski season. Definitely a great place to stay in Aspen if you can get a deal. read more

The conference I was attending in Aspen was held at the St. Regis. While the valet service was top notch every time I parked there, lets just say I'm not too upset their rooms were sold out. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had the delightful pleasure of resting my tired and slightly inebriated body on the softest, most silky sheets for the two days I stayed in town. Unfortunately I failed to take advantage of them for more than 4 hours at a time each night, in the attempt to enjoy as much of Aspen as possible. Top notch service, unparalleled comfort, convenience, and understated elegance. I also loved Glenn's introduction as we piled out of the Escalade at our restaurant destination in town.... The physical furnishings and atmosphere of the hotel, from the lobby to the bar to the rooms, is beautifully done and very classic. The staff are all very friendly and for the most part knowledgeable of the area and the hotel operations. Apparently there were a lot of new staff because we kept getting different answers to different questions, but they were all polite. It is not earning a 4 or 5 star rating because of a couple of things. First, one morning we ordered room service because we had an early start to catch a private shuttle to a snow mobile tour. 15 minutes after the breakfast was supposed to arrive I called the front desk and they informed me that we had cancelled it at 2015 the night before. We had gone to bed at 1915 so we didn't cancel. No apologies or anything and we ended up having to rush through breakfast. Mistakes can happen, it just wasn't handled well. We were under the impression from the website that hotel shuttles to the slopes were free. It turned out that only the shuttle to Aspen Mountain was free, not Snow Mass, or any of the others. Other little things, the humidifier got screwed up during turn down and it was dry all night. They don't keep the free coffee in the lobby all morning and charge you for it later in the morning. All fairly minor things, which if I was at a Marriott or a Hilton I could live with, but considering what I was paying, I was a little disappointed. The bar is great and the food in the restaurant was quite good. read more

I was completely blown away by the care that Hotel Jerome took to ensure my comfort during a four-night stay here. We were escorted via Cadillac to and from the airport, which is where the outstanding service began. We were offered bottles of water, and our friendly, professional drivers were already keen on giving us ideas on what to do/see during our time in Aspen. We continued to receive IMPECCABLE service throughout our time at the Jerome, from the bellboys to the concierge to the lovely ladies who cleaned our room. We were so impressed! The concierge, Troy, was especially helpful in assisting us to book a rafting experience through Blazing Adventures, secure a few restaurant reservations, and also make a few phone calls in helping us decide what we wanted to do in our spare time while in Aspen. Another concierge also assisted us in printing out my boarding pass the night before my flight out, which was very helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated. There were complimentary health-conscious snacks, which I really appreciated (they restock them for a fee). Our room was cleaned twice a day, so everything always looked impeccable every time we returned to our room. The Hermes toiletries were so luxurious and gave me good hair days my whole trip! I'm always nervous about using hotel toiletries, and I usually bring my own, but I definitely didn't need to for my stay at the Jerome. The J-Bar was delightful for dinner, and I highly recommend enjoying a meal or two there (even if you aren't staying in the hotel). I also enjoyed ordering room service breakfast each morning (the assorted fruit was a personal favorite because it came with a beautiful platter of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries). I appreciated choice in kind of yogurt (plain nonfat Greek yogurt is my preferred yogurt, and it's often not available at other hotel breakfasts) for my yogurt granola bowl in the morning. The Jerome also ensured we felt comfortable with the change in altitude by setting up a humidifier in the room, and also special water optimized to help adjust to the higher altitude (it tasted just like regular water). I didn't get the opportunity to take advantage of such amenities as the spa, the pool*, or the gym, but I would definitely like to take advantage of those the next time. Overall, the attention to detail in service made this an outstanding experience for me, and I will absolutely choose the Jerome the next time I'm in Aspen (and you should, too)! *The pool was under construction during my time here, so I was unable to access it. read more
