This place is run like a well oiled machine. Comfy and quiet. The community coffee and the shuttle busses that run all day take this hotel up a notch. I wish they offered more food options and the front desk staff seemed indifferent, which I was ok with. read more

When I checked in, I asked if the pool was open. Front desk told me no, but gave me a choice of two suites. I picked the one facing the mountain. What they didn't bother to tell me is that at 8:00 AM every morning, they fire up a jackhammer and multiple pieces of heavy equipment to work on the pool. So instead of enjoying a quiet morning, you're blasted awake by construction noise. The staff were great and located on the back side of a ski lift. The rooms are old but mine was clean. My friend did have a mishap with an uninvited guest. A large mouse......in fact two!! I've stayed here twice. The first time the shower door wouldn't stay closed. It would slide open, making showering annoying. The floor of the bathroom had water and shat looked like wood glue seeping through the laminate/wood flooring. Getting your feet or socks wet and gross every time I stepped into the bathroom. The second time I stayed it seemed like everything in the room was half put together. No hand soap. One robe. Only one hand towel. The television didn't work. We attempted to call the front desk and the phone has no cable and is not operational. The location and view are nice, but I would not recommend staying here. Decent view for the price. The first night, there were no wash cloths in the room but once I made them aware of it that quickly fixed it. To stay an extra night you have to call and phone number and wait on hold for at least 5 minutes, that was kinda ridiculous. The shower was super small but did the job. The heater was too loud to actually use. I would just give these "heads up" to anyone I recommend it to. The beds and rooms were clean and comfy. read more

Stayed here at the Vacasa (booked through hotels.com) and it was an amazing experience! Room was very spacious, amenities were great, theres a delicious BBQ spot in the lobby, and on top of all of this there is a shuttle service that takes you from the hotel to wherever you need within a few miles - makes it amazing to explore downtown Aspen and not have to worry about parking or anything like that. Highly recommend this spot and I will definitely be back during winter for the ski season! read more

Room haKing size bed nice room with patio good for skiers who want to ski back right into your room. Only negative was the bathroom remodel awful; water from shower sits there like a puddle while you shower - drain plugged disgusting! Shower drain was clogged and you were forced to stand in the dirty water, shower had a single glass door let's all water splash out on bathroom floor; the tile work must have been done by amateurs! They have only one restaurant on site. Also you'll note pic of hallway many rooms had water damage probably due to frozen pipes or clogged drains; tons of fans throughout hallways trying to dry rugs! read more

Loved it here! Cute spacious enough room. We got a room on the first floor. It was great being able to enter/exit our room through the back door to snowboard or play in the snow. Extremely convenient! The shower water pressure felt great. Toilet flushes well. They had a small fridge and a larger one, which was perfect for us! Bbq restaurant is just a few steps away. The microwave in the room was beneficial to us when we took back bbq leftovers and wanted to warm them up. Tv worked well, but a bit on the older side. All employees were helpful and kind to us. Rental pickup was next door, easy to walk to. Everything here was just so convenient! Im absolutely recommending this hotel to everyone I know! read more

Stayed at the Inn at Aspen with my last summer. The Inn is conveniently located in Aspen. The Inn also has a shuttle to take you to the downtown free of charge. The downtown is about 15 minutes away. Joseph Zuena is the manager and he is friendly and knowledgable about the area. He answered all our questions and gave us good suggestions for things we were looking to do. The rest of the staff was also friendly. The Inn is at the base of Buttermilk Mountain and not far from the Maroon Bells so there is a lot to do in the area. The room was spacious and comfortable. The style made us feel comfortable and cozy. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. There was a pool. The Inn was clean and well maintained. The price of the hotel was reasonable. The only criticism I have is breakfeast buffet. It is not bad, but it could be better. I have heard that they have made some improvements since I have been here. All in all, I highly recommend the Inn at Aspen. read more

The Inn at Aspen is a Great Place to stay if: 1. You're a Beginner Skier 2. You're with a Family 3. You're looking for a Mid-Range place Price-Wise 4. You don't need a Luxury-type place 5. You don't mind being a 10-minute Bus ride or Drive from Downtown (near restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.), as it's a stand-alone property away from everything I've stayed at the Inn at Aspen a few times with my brother and his family, and it's the perfect spot for him. I like it when I'm with him, however, if I'm with friends or a significant other, I'd prefer staying in Downtown Aspen where all the action is. It was originally a Holiday Inn which opened in 1969, so the property is almost 50 years old. However, it recently went through a Renovation and was bought and is managed by Wyndham Vacations, but each of the units are owned by individuals on a Time-Share basis. Wyndham maintains the common areas of the property (lobby, restaurant area, hallways, ski lockers, pool, hot tub, etc.) and handles reservations, but each room is owned and maintained by individual owners. Because of that, each room is different than the other, and has different decorations, furniture, beds, layout, etc. Some rooms are newly renovated, some are not. But that's usually reflected in the price for each room. That's why some people say they loved their stay in the past, but then had a room that they didn't like on a subsequent stay. All that being said, it's still a clean, standard, mid-range hotel that's good for a basic stay. Prices during Peak Ski Season range around $250-$350 for a Room with 2 double beds or 1 king bed. Sounds expensive for those who have never been to a ski resort, but these prices are Mid-Range for Aspen, as some hotels can be outrageously priced. I mean, Aspen is the Best or one of the Best Ski Resorts in the country, so it's kind of expected. My Favorite Things about staying at the Inn at Aspen are: - Location for Skiing is Amazing - True Ski-In / Ski-Out - It's 20 steps from the Ski Lift (I counted lol) - It's 20 steps from the Rental Shop & Ticket Counter - Have free ski lockers to store skis & poles - Lobby is really nice & modern - Bus stop to Aspen & Snowmass is right in front - Nice Fire Pit outside for Apres Ski with kids - Hot tub is not bad, but wish it was bigger - Property is nicely maintained - It's a Simple, No-Frills place Overall, I Really Like the Inn at Aspen and Definitely Recommend it for certain people...specifically beginners, families and people looking for something mid-range, easy & simple. In the midst of touring the state of Colorado with no real night's sleep for many days, it was a treat to recline on an ultimately comfortable bed on the first (and only) floor and finally shut these eyes. Respectably fine linens, many pillows. The back (sliding) door opened to a diminutive deck with pool perhaps being twenty metres away. I could not remember my room number then (happens every time and it was one of my interactions with front desk) and I surely do not now, or else I would include it here so that this paragraph would be more germane to the review. --------------------------------------------------­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­----------------------- The hotel toiletries were certified organic which I was unaware insomuch as existed. The lady who checked us in was super nice and helpful. She seemed really excited to be working! I don't know her name, but she was doing check in on 6/16. The rooms here look as pictured. You can access your room from the inside of the building or your patio, but you have to use the front door first. The restaurant was open and it serves bbq, but we decided to eat in town. This hotel has free shuttle service to downtown Aspen. Then when you are ready, call them and they will come get you. I don't know if the amenities were open due to Colorado Phase I, but we spent most of our time in town. I would recommend! read more

Pretty rundown. The hallways are dirty (see my picture of the dirty plate left by the entrance for days and days), and the entrance was blocked by dirty mop buckets. The carpet in our room was stained with old soda even though the carpet looked newly replaced. Very overpriced for what we got and we were so dissappointed when we pulled up. Would not stay here again. Definitely not nice enough for a town like Aspen. The heated pool next to the ski lifts was nice, though. read more

We booked Inn at Aspen through hotels.com mainly cause it was a good price for an Aspen area hotel. I think it was around $180., for one night in August. It is not hip or cool or chic, but has lovely grounds, including a pool, fire pit and great view of Buttermilk runs. We were here in summer, but it would be a great ski in/out place when the lifts start again. Rooms are only adequate. Clean, but outdated decor. Not a first pick for a romantic getaway, but a good place to stay if you aren't looking for a chic, Aspen experience. If you have little ones, they delivered a crib to our room with no extra charge and fairly quickly. They advertise a Continental breakfast, but it is definitely an upgraded bfast from what you get at most hotels. Besides the expected cold cereal, bread items, juice and coffee, they include a lovely fresh fruit assortment, yogurt, make yer own waffles, and fresh pastry tray. I hear during ski season they also offer some hot items, like scrambled eggs. This is kind of a big deal in Aspen (or any ski resort) where a filling b-fast can be spendy. Another bonus is that they have a free shuttle to take you into Aspen proper. No worries about parking or too cocktails. Sweet! read more

Stayed here in August for a wedding. The entire wedding party stayed here, so we were happy to as well, but it is my understanding that the rooms were selected from internet photos, not from anyone going to the property and checking it out in person. I thought for it being the off-season that the rooms were very expensive for how nice they were. The furniture in the room was big and pine, with pilled plaid comforters- just seemed cheap. I'm not snobby or stuck-up, but after I saw what we were getting charged for the two nights, I really expected a luxury hotel. It was just a little too "country motel" for me. And there were two locked closets inside our hotel room that had "Do Not Open" stickers on them. Kind of weird. Right behind the hotel are the Buttermilk runs, which in August obviously don't have snow on them, but they were perfect for hiking. We did walk halfway up on the morning of the wedding and got a great view!! There was also a small area behind the hotel where you could rent horses and ride up the mountain that way. Kind of neat. I guess in the winter time, you could ski right out the back door, which is cool. Overall, I was not impressed with the grounds. There was a pool and fire pit area, but they seemed kind of cheesy and almost like an afterthought. They were not well-developed and there was no landscaping whatsoever. Free breakfast is included- don't get too excited. Typical free breakfast of cut fruit and pastries. They did have a selection of juices, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and toast as well. But the people in charge of stocking it during breakfast hours didn't do a very good job- once the platters were empty, they would stay that way for at least an hour. I was very pleased with the hotel's willingness to drive us downtown on demand and pick us up as soon as they could. They were very accomodating and one of the younger drivers(in his mid-20's) suggested a GREAT hole-in-the-wall sandwich place to us that we would have never found otherwise. We lost track of time downtown and called to be picked up in order to make the rehearsal dinner, and they were extremely quick in getting someone out to get us- awesome!! I also really liked how close the hotel was to the airport- super convenient. I probably would not stay here again because it is so far from downtown, though. I'd rather pay a little more and be within walking distance of all the shopping, restaurants and bars. read more

Recently booked a two night stay, but cut and ran after one night. The room description stated queen bed and queen sofa sleeper, but the pull-out couch was not functional as a bed. Our first clue the place doesn't intend anyone to sleep on the sofa bed was that there were no linens in the room. Housekeeping delivered bed linens, but the mattress is way too thin, so laying on it all we could feel was the pull-out frame. So, our son just slept on it folded up like a couch, but it's super narrow and he got no rest. It gets worse... The decor is straight out of the 80's, pink and green. Our room was not updated like in other photos here in Yelp. But the picture of this room on their website makes it look ivory colored as if it's fresh. The coffee table has a broken leg and one of the armchairs had castors that didn't actually roll. The bathroom is tiny with a small toilet and cramped shower. They had Aveda products in the bath, so there's that. There was only one robe in the closet, which we didn't use at all. There was another empty hanger as if there should have been two robes. I hope they don't think we took one. Last thing: the website states patio with amazing views, but there was no seating on the patio and all we could see was the back parking lot with a row of service trucks and parked trailers. I get it that we booked a budget room at a modest hotel for the area, but we paid $184 a night for this shabby room that advertised itself as something else. My husband finally said, "For Father's Day, give me a different hotel room." Two stars because the staff is very nice and the pool and spa were tidy and pleasant. read more

What a dump! I have seen homeless shelters in better condition! I arrived early so I called and asked if I could get into my room early. I was told that it would be ready in forty five minutes. When I arrived an hour later, I was told it would take another forty-five minutes. The person on the desk - alone, at check-in time - was a pleasant female "bellman", not a desk clerk. When I finally inquired again and was told my room was ready, I went to it and found the maids still in it working. They said they were done, and left - leaving behind their radio. And a sticky residue on the bedside table. And the heating/cooling unit set on cooling, at 58 degrees. There are patched spots on the wall. The room across the hall has a metal door with patching around it as if someone tried to pry it out of the wall. I can hear a couple of seemingly intoxicated women cackling out in the hall as if there was no door at all. The exterior door into the wing from the parking lot does not close completely, so anyone could walk in without a keycard. I of course turned on the heat immediately, and four hours later, with the thermostat set at 72, the heat is blowing but the room is still so cold I have to wear a sweatshirt over my shirt. The door to the tiny patio has to be slammed to close and lock it, and it feels as if cold air seeps in around the seams. There is a strange mirror on one wall, opposite side of the room from the bathroom - behind a curtain, but there is a void space behind the mirror - perfect for hidden cameras? The amenities are about at the level of those highway motels with numbers in their names. Two packets of coffee - neither one of which is decaf, if I wanted that. No cocoa, tea, anything else. No USB charger anywhere - this IS 2018, folks! All of this at a nightly rate of at least two times, in some cases three times, my normal stays at a highly regarded, reliable, mid-level chain which is TEN times nicer. I had to change my initial reservation because of a scheduling change, and the rate almost doubled when I did so - apparently to charge all they can for Christmas week. At the base of the Buttermilk Mountain, The Inn at Aspen is beautiful and reasonably priced. We stayed Wed-Fri during Labor Day weekend for a wedding. The room was decent with 2 queen beds, a mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, two robes, iron, ironing board, and a steamer as well. The property offers community locker rooms also which was helpful with large groups. There is a BBQ place on site which I was not impressed with. The service was slow and the food was mediocre but the server helped themselves to adding 20% gratuity to our check which they did not earn. Yuck. The offer a free shuttle to downtown or the airport which are very close. The Aspen airport is not even a mile away so that's convenient. The shuttles were very helpful on our trip. All in all, for the price, this was a great place to stay. read more

Clean hotel rooms with nice staff. Depending on the room you can have access from the parking lot to the back of your room which makes it soo much easier than to walk through the whole hotel. My room had two mini fridges. I personally would give it a five stars but check out is early at 10am. This hotel should not receive a "1" rating; it is disgusting - stay away!!!! Chipping paint, holes in the walls,, black mold in the bath, ripped and stained carpet, dust and cobwebs on fixtures, filth in the bathroom and other spaces, window coverings are dismantled, light to the hot tub was non-exitent, lighting in the parking lot was flat out dangerous (personal injury / assault cases just waiting)no robes - but stated that they were in the room, linens where stiff with chemicals, coffee creamers were like a mini-bricks (stale), furniture - other than bed, looked like it had been used since '60s - '70s with NO repair, refurbishing, etc. (stains, scratches, depleted finish, warped, etc.).This place should be inspected by the local health authorities and shut down until they can get their act together. read more

The Inn is convenient, newly renovated, clean, right at the Buttermilk link, and with excellent BBQ meals. The rooms are (all? most?) owned by others, all nice but some exceptional. But the highlight was clearly Laurie, a wonderfully helpful woman at the front desk who helped us meet every need, get a new room when we had to extend our stay, stored our luggage, and went on a personal quest to (successfully) find a lost item of ours. We stayed at the Inn last year and decided to come back due to its convenience. It is down the street from the airport, very close to downtown restaurants and an extremely short walk to the lift, lift ticket office and rentals. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the airport and downtown. While the convenience of the hotel remained a PLUS this year, our stay was not without issues. The Monday we arrived, the shuttle service was a nightmare that evening. We had to wait over an hour to be picked back up at the grocery store. The rest of the week was fine and all drivers were friendly enough. Some of the rooms had been renovated; we had 2 that had not been and one that was. Two were dated. The microwave would not open properly in my room. Moreover, I had problems with the toilet on two separate occasions, 9:30 pm on Thursday and Friday, the very next am at 6:30. (Tank would not fill and toilet kept running) While maintenance responded quickly, was disappointed I had to call back to back times. Regarding my room, it was cleaned every day but at different times and things were not routinely replaced when needed (shampoo, lotion, soap, etc) On one occasion, I opened my bathroom door to find the door to my room propped open with a cleaning bucket. When the lady looked up from making the bed, she immediately left the room. Really? The biggest disappointment- no HOT TUB. The water was low and warm on Tuesday. I complained Wednesday am and the young lady said it may have been because the hotel had been having some repair work done. On Wednesday pm, it had been filled but the water was warm again. I complained immediately afterwards and the young man said the unit could not be over 100 degrees and the repair work would not have effected the hot tub. On Thursday, there was a sign on the door - temporarily out of order. The hot tub was never repaired. Needless to say, no hot tub for the entire ski trip. Very very disappointed as there's nothing better than soaking in the hot tub after a day of skiing. It appears the Inn is in need of updating and repair. During the entire week, it seemed like different repairmen were at the Inn. One gentleman I met at the hot tub stated his heater was not working and was being repaired/replaced. I sincerely hope the Inn makes improvements. Its location and the Buttermilk mountain is phenomenal. The BBQ restaurant is very good and the service staff are attentive and extremely friendly. What a great find! We wanted a place to stay in Aspen during peak season between Christmas and New Years AND we wanted slope side ski in-out access. This place had it all for a reasonable rate. Pluses: very convenient for skiers with the Summit Express chair (Buttermilk Mountain) literally in the hotel's backyard, you can ski right up to the lobby; and if you decide you want to do Ajax or Highlands or Snowmass, just ask and they'll shuttle you over there; very courteous and friendly staff at all times; casual on-site restaurant/bar with great food and beer; personalized shuttle service to town or the airport all day long, usually available within 5-10 minutes; clean and comfy rooms at a great price. Minuses: none for us, because we know what to expect, but just realize this place is a couple of miles outside the actual city of Aspen, so going "to town" will mean a 5-10 minute shuttle ride depending on traffic; Ronnie and Sean, the two main drivers, are so cool and pleasant to talk to that this was actually plus as far as we were concerned. Stayed here for a week while working on the mountain with some athletes. The food and bar is great, the staff is nice, and the location for the mountain and skiing is top notch. One night I had to go to the ER at 3 AM and couldn't find an Uber and was a little disoriented so Elmer dropped what he was doing and rushed me over there. Do no give this company your business. My partner came down the with Covid a week before our stay at one of their properties in Aspen CO. He is in quarantine for 10 days. They REFUSED to give us a refund a week out and stopped responding when I called them out on it. Basically said I cannot come use the hotel room I paid for already since we have Covid positive guests but can't get a refund. It's also prime time in Aspen and they'll rebook very easily for a weekend night. I'll be contacting my card company next. Ridiculous. read more
