Hotel is a little outdated but the room was clean. Pillows could be better. 5 star for hospitality (thoughtful valet staff, amazing front desk and helpful service staff) however doesn't live up to the Autograph status (which has been disappointing overall but that's for another day) despite the price tag. 3 feels harsh and 4 feels generous, more like 3.5. read more

Loved my stay at Hotel Metro. I booked a king suite and called the day before to request a suite with a tub I saw advertised on my booking site. The gentleman over the phone checked and said that accommodating a suite with a tub would not be an issue. When I arrived I confirmed again but they said they didn't see any note of it, but Cash was able to find a room with a tub for me, which I was greatly appreciative of! The room was absolutely gorgeous and spotless. The mattress and pillows were super comfy! There is a full mini bar with drinks and snacks, including Spotted Cow beers, which was such a sweet Milwaukee charm. The location is great with tons of restaurants on the same block. It's a short and scenic walk to the art museum and lakefront as well as the public market. Would highly recommend booking a room at hotel metro during your next Milwaukee visit. read more

I love this hotel! I visit Milwaukee at least 1-2x/year and this will be my go-to hotel from now on. I was given a corner room and it was classy! It had a lot of space and was very clean. The staff here are also incredible - they went above and beyond for a request I had and I was blown away. The location of this hotel is also great as there are a lot of food places close by. We stayed at the Hotel Metro for five nights in early July, and I would not recommend this hotel at all. The "front of the hotel" seems woefully understaffed and those that are there are not well trained in how to treat the hotel guests. When we arrived, there was one clerk up front, and one valet outside, and both were so obviously overwhelmed that we left for more than an hour before trying again. The worst was that the valet kept telling us that her replacement hadn't arrived yet, as if that made the situation less of a cluster... On a subsequent return to the hotel from a day out and about, there was no valet and no front desk clerk to be found - until perhaps after ten minutes of waiting, when a surly clerk appeared from a side hallway and, when I responded that we were waiting for the valet (admittedly with some frustration), she snarked "well I wouldn't want you to be inconvenienced " as she took my keys! I reminded her that we were "guests" of the hotel and said that I didn't appreciate her obvious attitude. On another return to the hotel, when informing the valet that we were just dropping some things off before heading out again, he responded "Congratulations"! Here I was attempting to save him the trouble of moving my car, and again, I get snarky attitude. Here's a suggestion for the hotel GM: consider having more than one person at the front and at the valet station - especially at predictably busy (i.e., check-in /out times). The hotel accommodations were nice enough, the food in the restaurant was "meh", and I wouldn't stay here again. Customer Service counts, and Marriott is falling down on that with this location. read more

We had a great time hosting our intimate wedding and reception here! The entire building is newly renovated with modern, classy, yet a little retro elements throughout. The rooms were a great size for getting ready and staying in! The rooftop space was great for our small amount of people, and didn't make it feel empty. We worked with Jennifer for the whole process, and she was so helpful and accommodating! From the people at the front desk, and the waiters and bartender, to all the staff that was helping us out on our day was truly amazing. The food was FANTASTIC! I might be partial, of my own wedding, but the best wedding food you could get! So many options to choose from, and everything was amazing. They had so many meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. The price was also amazing. Looking at wedding venues in the downtown and metro milwaukee area, this one is definitely on the low side, but we'll worth all you pay. I took my daughter to see Six in Milwaukee since she loved it when it was in Chicago. Figured i"d make a mini vacation of it and stay overnight so booked a night here at the Hotel Metro. The location was great- everything we went to was a short uber or walk away. The staff was very friendly. The valet warned us about the issues Milwaukee was having with people stealing kias and hyundais (eek- hence why i just left my car at the valet for my overnight there and ubered everywhere). And when we were leaving housekeeping came running downstairs to bring us our charger that we left in the room. The room was ginormous and the TV easily hooked up to my phone so that I could stream from netflix. It was an easy overnight stay for a great price. The restaurant looked great for brunch too, although we had to head back early to Chicago so will have to eat there next time. read more

I booked a type of room months in advance, only to be told that the type I wanted had "issues" and was going to receive the room later on. When I checked again later on, they said that I could not have the room because it was still not available and that I could have it the next day. But I wasn't going to be there until 11pm the next day due to a wedding so it didn't make sense for me to waste my money for a spa room that I would barely even use and check out early in the morning after tomorrow. I usually love it here but this time around terrible service and empty promises. I am beyond pissed because this was the thing I had been looking forward for months. read more

I've stayed at Hotel Metro twice now; once for our wedding and the second time for our one year anniversary. Both times have been spectacular experiences! I have known about Hotel Metro for several years, even before their renovation, as a classic Milwaukee destination. Since their renovation they have kept raising the bar and have made this historic building a true gem in the City. The service is always fantastic. The receptionists and bell hop are there to assist you with valet parking and a very quick check-in process. In the lobby there is new furniture that really make the art deco aesthetic of the building. Because the building is historic and with its design the hotels rooms are all very comfortably sized and the suites are even bigger! We stopped down at Oggie's for dinner and drinks and was impressed with the food and service. We then went upstairs to Puffer Fish Tiki and checked it out. It was quite the change from we we had our wedding in the same spot last year! Both stays were great. My only comment for improvement was that the room AC didn't get as cold as I typically like at night, but all in all it is a fantastic place to spend a night in downtown Milwaukee. read more

I was going to wait until check out to leave a review, but I thought I would do it from the uncomfortable, hard bed. We were very excited to escape Chicago and spend a night up here without our children, which doesn't happen very often. Upon entering the room, we noticed it was a little chilly. so we played with the thermostat to try and raise the temperature but we were unsuccessful. We called the Front Desk and asked them if there was any way they can help us and walk us through how to work the thermostat. He said all of the vents should click on along the windows, and we noticed that only one clicked on, so he came up to evaluate the situation and agreed that yes only one of the vents were pumping out heat so the room was at 68°. We then asked if extra blankets can be brought up because it was going to be a cool night. When he brought up the extra blankets, he then proceeded to tell us that even though we are in a presidential suite, we are only on the third floor and floors four, five and six have a fireplace that would have made the room warm. who says that to somebody? All while dealing with the heat we also had to remove the top of the toilet tank off to flush the toilet because the chain broke. Not once but twice. We had to have a maintenance man come up who claimed he fixed it. He didn't because it happened again and the front desk came up to fix it himself. We were planning to stay in in order room service and watch TV but we were unable to stay in our room because it was so cold so we decided to go downstairs and eat in the restaurant Oggi. On the way down while passing the Front Desk he told us to go inside the restaurant and have a couple drinks on the house and gave us a pass for complementary breakfast in the morning. This breakfast was pretty talked we were excited until we read the card and noticed it is a continental breakfast. He sat down at the restaurant and the host brought us an opened bottle with a glass already missing from the bottle of champagne and said "I opened this for myself, but I heard you need it more than me". It was cheap "limo champagne" - he was not doing us any favors. We did not get any additional complimentary drinks, nothing was waived on the bill. They couldn't have at least given us free valet for the night. We were never asked if we wanted to switch a different room. We were told we couldn't have any credit put on our account because we paid in full at the time of booking. Thanks for the laughs hotel metro. Would never stay here again. read more

The room I had was one of the largest most comfortable rooms I have ever stayed in. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly nice and very helpful. (Maybe a Wisconsin thing) the last morning there we decided to try the hotel restaurant only to find that we had been missing some incredible food. The Carmel/apple french toast was to die for. Can't say enough about the hotel. Looking forward to a return visit sometime in the near future. read more

This hotel is chic and cute and impressively clean and does not seem like it is in Wisconsin (no offense to me, because I live there). The front desk team and the housekeeping team clearly know what they're doing. The rooms were impeccable and the service was remarkable enough to make me remember to write this review. Katie at the front desk sincerely made our night. She was so friendly and so sweet, she is a main reason this hotel stands out as special. Also, the Pufferfish bar was super fun and the service there was excellent. The rooms are spacious and it is worth repeating that they were EXCEPTIONALLY clean. This boutique hotel is delightfully Retro! It's cool that there are rentable bikes out front, and the decor is truly Art Deco! Love. It's located in a nice area, close to Riverfront activities. Just down the street from the Pfister Hotel. The valet service is GREAT, I don't ever remember a valet that actually sprints to get your car! A+++ We booked a King Suite, and was impressed with its size, cleanliness and amenities. Very comfortable night and entire stay here. Tried the restaurant downstairs for breakfast. It was pleasant and offered decent prices for a hotel restaurant. Would definitely stay here again! read more

I loved the room except the absence of blackout curtains is sort of weird. Not only is that missing but there is not even an option to cover the windows with something that is not see through. Like I can see directly out my window through the white curtain. At night..turn the light on and everyone outside can see through it too. Curtain. Like put a curtain there. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Metro. The staff was all incredibly helpful & courteous, from the front desk clerks to the folks delivering room service to the valets. I'd like to give a special shout out to the valets for being quite prompt & always smiling and friendly, even when they were slammed at peak times. We stayed in a King Spa Suite with the whirlpool tub & fireplace. Everything was clean & we liked the decor. The bed was very comfortable as well. The mini-bar was well stocked and the pricing for the mini-bar items is comparable to other hotels. They have a rooftop garden terrace & adjoining room which can be rented out for private events - we took a peek up there and it's quite lovely. The hot tub & fitness center are up at the top level as well. One thing which is keeping them from 4 stars is the windows do not have light blocking curtains in the rooms, at least not in the room we were in. They just have sheer curtains which allow a great deal of sunlight to flood in to the room making it not easy to sleep in for people like myself who are very sensitive to sunlight. I have eye shades I use at home but did not bring them since I've never stayed in a upscale hotel that did not have adequate curtains. I have no idea how they have gotten away with not adding them at this point. One other tiny annoyance, at least in our room floor plan was that since the bathroom has a pocket door, the light switch to the bathroom (toilet & shower area since the sink & tub are separate) is about 5 feet away from the door to the bathroom. This means that if you need to use the facilities in the middle of the night and want the light on you may be disturbing the other person sleeping by having to turn the light on, walk through the sink/tub area, then in to the bathroom to close the door. I realize not everyone turns the light on when they go in the middle of the night but I'm guessing some people do. I realize due to the pocket door & the room layout there may not have been another place to put the switch. Just an observation. read more

I visit Milwaukee for business, my husband accompanies me, and we spend time with family and friends. My hotel of choice is a Marriott Bonvoy - Hotel Metro, Autograph Collection, with a most recent stay from December 18th to December 25th, 2022. Ms. Danna Casillas, the Front Desk Supervisor, is impressive. Her talent and skills in the hospitality industry are exceptional, and she is responsible for the high satisfaction with our stays. She sets the tone for the people she is responsible for - and they follow her lead and contribute to guest satisfaction. The hotel is well-maintained, and Oggie's offers delicious food. Every staff member was helpful and friendly, including Mya, Front Desk; Isaura and Ava, Housekeeping; and Gwen, Server at Oggie's. A month later, I am still smiling about the note left by Nick, the Valet. He brought our luggage to the room, leaving a drawing of a snowman with wishes to "have a great week." We are grateful to Ms. Casallis and the staff for the wonderful stay. It makes a difference in our lives. read more

My group and I walked into the lobby of this hotel and were rudely greeted by a brunette who claim that we "forced the door open". She was completely unprofessional, very disrespectful and did not handle the situation well at all. I would not recommend this hotel based on the service we received from this host. She escalated this situation to something that could have been easily deescalated. This was an unfortunate experience. We will not return. read more

this is my all-time favorite hotel in Milwaukee. I've stayed here 3 times and each time have had a pleasant experience. the suites are huge, with a cool curved half-wall separating the bedroom from the living room. they have a keurig, along with a wide selection of mini bar items, should you want a $3 snickers. the bathroom has all Aveda products, a HUGE plus. all the rooms have giant tubs, some with jets. this was our first time ordering room service from the French restaurant downstairs, and it was wonderful! they are currently working on updating the rooms, so there is some construction noise between 9am-4pm. but they're working on bettering the hotel, so it's worth the noise read more

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and we couldn't have been more impressed with our room/stay! We have stayed in A LOT of hotels all over the world in our 13 years together and this is our second favorite hotel. The room was incredible! We stayed in a spa suite room.... WOW. We are Gold Marriott members. My husband called and spoke with a Donna to ask about a possible upgrade. She was very unhelpful and said flat out "no" with no explanation and got off the phone as fast as she could. Then, I called back and spoke to Alan-- he was wonderful and super helpful on what to do to get a possible upgrade! I called the day we were due to check in and spoke with Greg-- he was also wonderful in helping us get an upgrade. Thanks Alan and Greg-- you were great. :) read more

Hotel Metro is gorgeous, clean, and smells good all over! All of the rooms are suites and ours had this amazing, deep whirlpool tub that I still dream about. Our room even had a fireplace. It's one of those hotels that makes you think about re-evaluating your finances on the off-chance that you could live there instead of renting an apartment. (Answer is always no). The food is also amazing and the staff are really friendly and helpful when it comes to ordering. But it's not just in the restaurant that you'll get good service - the front desk people are friendly and the valet guys are super professional, friendly, and fast. read more

It's hard for me to admit that any hotel is better than my personal hotel chain of choice, which incidentally is Embassy Suites. Yes, yes - start the Embassy bashing, but when you really look at it objectively, for the price you pay (or end up paying through PL), the separate sleeping/suite area, the decor of the chain, and the free hot breakfast, Embassy Suites is actually quite spectacular. I tagged along with my gf to Hotel Metro on the night of the 15th as she had an interview the next day for a family medicine residency program in the area. Since this was her gig, I didn't bother researching the hotel, but I did pay attention to where it was located as I took Amtrak from Chicago on Tuesday afternoon. So objectively speaking, here we go: Location: 5 out of 5 This might be subjective for me, but I found it no problem to get to from the downtown intermodal station. Walk east till you hit Water street, take a left (N), and then take a right onto Mason, and you'll be there in less than 15 minutes. I took the car the next day, and noticed that when driving back, you really just have to go towards the lakefront, and go towards Jackson Ave or something like that. Seemed intuitive to get to from various locations in the city. Decor: 4 out of 5 Hrm....this one was sort of odd, because the doors to the bathroom were painted almost in a teal-like color. The artificial plants in our room were nice, and I liked the overall feel of the room too. Muted, neutral colors that didn't offend me (cept for maybe the teal bathroom doors), and mostly clean lines. The only two things I would mention that sort of gave me pause were the location and setup of the TV's. One was located in the sitting area against one end of a curve, and the other was in the sleeping area at the "hump" of the curve. It'd be impossible to watch both at once without disturbing your mates, as there were no separators, and the ceiling in the curved area didn't go all the way up. I understand why they had to place the TV's where they did, but it just wasn't as aesthetically pleasing. Amenities: 5 out of 5. Didn't use much, but from what I saw, things were pretty cool. As I alluded to, 2 LCD TV's. As others have mentioned, the tubs in the rooms are HUGE (see my pics) and the sink in the bathroom was shiny. I tried to get some good pics of that, but it kept catching my reflection in the basin, and I gave up. Also present were: bathrobes, ironing board, hair dryer, boutique'ish toiletries, philips Ipod/mp3 player dock, mini bar with beer, wine, booze, and snacks of every type. There is a restaurant on site (did not use) as well as a valet service that allows you in and out privileges. The in and out privileges were key, as I had to drop off my gf at the hospital early in the morning, and then come back for a few more hours of sleep. Service: 5 out of 5 What is this rating based off of? The live wake up call at 5am and the fact that the cleaning lady gave us some chocolate at night. Oh yes, and also the valet service, as it was quick, efficient, and friendly (remember to tip your valet attendants). Pricing: 5 out of 5 What, you ask? Why 5 stars? Oh, because it was comped by the hospital that my gf was interviewing at. Didn't spend a dime, except on gratuities for the valet and cleaning people. If I had to pay for it myself, I might be singing a different tune. Overall: 5 out of 5 Well done, clean and immaculate hotel. However, I have one very minor gripe, and that is with the tub and sink drains, as the ones in the room we stayed in were a little slow. Not so much clogged, but just that the drains physically didn't raise up that much out of the basin. When I forcibly reached down into the tub drain and yanked it out, I did see some hairballs...not enough to make me cringe, but then again, that's something that only the top half percent of hotels world-wide would pay attention to, so who am I to complain? read more

When in Milwaukee, Hotel Metro is always my first choice of places to stay. I love the art deco ambiance and the friendly service. Located in a historic building (rumored to be the first building in Milwaukee to have central air conditioning back in the day) it's first purpose was an office building but was remodeled into the current hotel in 1996. Built in the 30's, art deco touches abound throughout the exterior and interior of the building. I love the high ceilings and the curves (all signature items of deco styling) throughout the hotel. The rooms are interesting as they are one large space with the "bedroom" separated from the sitting area by a curved wall divider. The colors of black, grey and teal just lend themselves to the deco feeling as well. And check out the door handles and you will see the deco inspiration. Everything you expect is there, flat screen TVs, free wi-fi, comfy linens, refrigerator and even a pull out sofa if you need it. The toiletries are high end, and the towels are so fluffy and big, I wanted to take them home! While I haven't eaten at the restaurant in the hotel, I have had drinks at the Metro bar which is a great place to meet up with friends or to enjoy a drink after work. And their daily drink specials are worth the visit. Hotel Metro is the first "Green" hotel in Milwaukee, which is evidenced by the cork flooring, bamboo wall coverings and all cotton sheets. Rooms run about $200 a night but they also have several packages for weekends and the like. Business doesn't often take me to Milwaukee anymore, but you can bet when I am looking for a hotel room in this fine city- Hotel Metro is at the top of my list! read more

For starters, don't start here. The manager Jordan is a sweet heart but anyone working below him are real low lifes. The problem is they want you to feel as low as they do. We started on the wrong foot but I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. This is the hospitality business after all and people make people mistakes right? When we arrived at 255 pm, the receptionist told us there were no rooms available and that if we waited "literally like a couple minutes" she could get us situated. We sat down and watched her check in person after person, each receiving a key card. I finally asked another employee, who turned out to be the manager Jordan, what was going on. He quickly realized they had overlooked us and offered some free drinks. This literally put a better taste in my mouth and I let it go. I should have trusted my gut though... I woke up at 530 am to get some water but it I couldn't get the water faucet to cool down. I called the front desk and spoke to Adam. He proceeded to fill my ears with nonsense about how there would be no ice until the restaurant opened and that if I wanted anything cooler than warm water I would have to wait. He offered to check my sink to see if I was doing it wrong or I could pay 5 $ for a bottle of water that was in the room. I told him to come up and check for himself then. He came up to check and sure enough I was right. He then contradicted his previous statement and explained there was an ice machine on the floor above us. What kind of place doesn't have cool running water in 2018 and hires employees that will lie to you without remorse? Ding ding. It's Hotel Metro in Milwaukee Wisconsin!!! Don't stay here. There are soo many better options. Or do stay here and let these bozos take your money and spit in your face. read more

This is a no frills kinda hotel. The rooms are older but clean and the location is great. The last stay we had we couldn't get the room cool enough. One of the phones wasn't working and kept ringing the wake up call. Additionally Valet is typically of no help. What is cool is their very tasty restaurant located onsite and there location in the city. Plus these rooms aren't typically an arm and a leg so I do understand I get what I pay for. I will probably continue to come here based on the restaurant, clean rooms and typically low price point. read more

Hmmm things have gone significantly downhill here. We stayed her ten years ago on the first night of our honeymoon and thought it would be cool to come back since we had great memories of a well-appointed room and fun hotel amenities. Seems they haven't replaced much in the rooms since then. Our furniture and walls in our room are seriously dinged up and dingy and the layout of the room they gave us is maze-like and not inviting. There are no plugs near the bed in our room, which is a real buzzkill when you have things like a phone and a laptop to plug in. They have signs posted that Marriott is taking over and going to renovate, which usually I would be disappointed about, but the ambiance here needs help. I might not be as disappointed if we hadn't paid an unusually high price to book last minute (which we paid for the nostalgia and because it was the only night that worked in our schedule). Things we did enjoy: Hotel staff are super friendly, the room was clean, fluffy towels, full-sized hair dryer, and the rooftop garden (which they called a "bar" that would open at 5, but there was never any bar action any time we went up there). read more

I was impressed by how nice Hotel Metro is. Great staff. HUGE room that was really nice. Gigantic bathroom with shiny glass sink, huge jacuzzi tub and stall shower. The room is really more of a suite. For me, the HVAC was annoyingly loud (till I shut off :-) Also - I didn't figure out where the light-blocking shades were until the second night. This will come in handy if your room faces the parking garage that will light your room like it's daylight. I don't know much about Milwaukee but there were a ton of places within walking distance. read more

The rooms/ suites are very large and beautifully appointed. The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is centrally located, so an easy walk to most locations of interest. There is a restaurant and bar on premises, but it does not have a pool, hot tub, or gym. read more

I found Hotel Metro from the yelp application on my iPhone. Hotel Metro for breakfast. It was the BEST breakfast I have ever had. I ate the seafood omelet. Huge pieces of shrimp, scallops, nova lox, & crab with dill hollandiase. The service was excellent! Little pricey for breakfast but worth it. I would definitely recommend Hotel Metro to anyone. Then after we ate we took a tour of the fancy hotel Metro. Hotel Metro is a beautiful place to stay. read more

I stayed there fifteen years ago. Guess what? It's even fifteen years older, as though it's not old enough. Had booked their largest "suite" and when I checked in she said your rooms not ready. But the she said "oh, I've got a place I can put you" (which sounded a little odd to me) but I get my key and headed upstairs. The room was very large but it had these funky folding tables in one area and a pull down screen like we used to have in Catholic school. My guess is that they use this room for corporate meetings and that's why she seemed a bit ill at ease. That said, it was clean and roomy and the bathroom was nice. It's just really, really OLD so if that's not your thing, you might want to try something else. Side note: I got my sister a room at the Holiday Inn River Front and she said it was really nice. Apparently they just redid it and get this... you might get a view of the Milwaukee River! (Old man River, he must know sumpin?). Holiday Inn was CHEAP , like 80 bucks. I might have been happier there. And one more note another member of out party, who travels a lot, stayed at the Westin downtown and liked it. Next time I'll probably stay at the Pfister. read more

I stayed at the Metro Hotel a couple weeks ago during a business trip in Milwaukee. The room was very nice. (Think Vegas Suite). I booked another room for a return trip in January. I received a check in message from the desk prior to my arrival offering me an upgrade to a suite. Prior to checking in, I received another text message saying I couldn't get the upgrade because I was staying too long (4 nights). I walked into my room and immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana and located a bag of it inside the room safe. I asked for a new room and was told my room would be downgraded due to limited availability. I checked out and went to a different hotel. read more

The hotel has Art Deco charm in spades. The rooms are large & comfortable & the bathtubs are huge. When my travel companion found her room not cool enough, as the aircon wasn't operating to the max, the front desk woman immediately relocated her to a cooler room. The restaurant downstairs, Pastiche, is fabulous. The food is delicious and the service, again, superb. This may not be the place for those who want brand new perfection, but if you want a charming, stylish boutique hotel, with superb service, this is the place for you. Highly recommended. read more

HOTEL HELL!!! I hope you can sleep with the loud bass pumping out of the dance club across and next door ALL NIGHT LONG. Seriously so loud even a TV and noise maker combined can't drowned out this noise. All this and more- we have asked for a different quieter room three hours ago and the rude staff at the front desk has been lying to us for three hours saying no other rooms are available. The other hotel staff has told us that this is a lie. Now it's 1:44am and suddenly there is a conference room with a bed available. Great, but by the time we pack, move and settle in, it will be bar time. We went to check out the room and it has a broken heater. So while it's quiet it's also freezing & the thermometer literally says 32°! Cute place but seriously the worst hotel stay of my life!!!! Almost $300 for a night of sleepless hell!!! Update- the hotel refuses to refund us because we wouldn't move to the ice box room at 1:45 in the morning. Are you kidding me!!! What horrible customer service!!!!!!!! read more

I stayed for 2 nights at this peculiar little hotel downtown Milwaukee a couple of days ago. It is not bad at all! This was a quick pseudo Spring Break escapade to Milwaukee --escaping from Chicago, that is. I found this place through Groupon and it was a good deal for a 3 day/2 night stay at this Art Deco-inspired place. The room was big, but looks like they had split 2 of them to make a large one. Room was in the 4th floor overlooking a parking garage. Oh, welp. There was this odd and wavy wall separating a small living room from the bedroom where 2 full beds awaited. Colors were definitely influenced by the pre WWI Arts Décoratifs French style, but maybe a tad too bright. The place was VERY clean, I'll give them that. The lobby was nice and cozy with a crackling fireplace. Furniture, art and decor in general was good, but not great. Personnel was attentive and prompt and every time we needed our car, the valet was prompt to get it. We didn't eat anything there, so we did not try the restaurant or food. No pool, no fancy amenities, no bells nor whistles. Just like its restaurant's name, a Pastiche of many different styles, sometimes contradictory, united by a desire to be Art Deco in the middle of Milwaukee. If I could give 2.5 stars I would. The hotel itself wasn't bad. The room was huge, bedroom is separated from a nice sized sitting area with TVs in both areas. For the two of us it was plenty of space. The bathroom had a HUGE bathtub, decent shower, fine for our purposes. I can't give three stars because a lot of what Hotel Metro advertises as little "special touches" that separate it from some of the chain hotels were no longer in service. The saltwater hot tub is not only not working, but completely drained and clearly they have no intentions of re-opening it (despite still including it on all promotional materials). They also advertise having a complimentary cab service - it was not available to be used at all the night we were there, not sure if that was a one-night thing or if it just no longer runs. We found that out after we paid to valet the car, probably would have just found parking elsewhere and used our own car knowing that there wasn't actually a cab service. I was really excited about Pastiche being the hotel restaurant/bar having been to the Bay View location. The bartender was outright bored by us, barely engaged, didn't know how to make the drink (despite it being on their menu) and after one drink we felt like we had interrupted their afternoon. Overall, it was good for our purposes, but given that you can get a room at much nicer hotels in the area for the same cost, they really need to rely on those little "boutique" touches that set them apart, not fail at them. read more

Great hotel! King sized bed, huge room(s) as they have a living room area, bedroom area, and a bathroom the size of (most)NYC hotel rooms. The bed and pillows were comfy, and the wifi was free and FAST (for up to three devices as well)! The room had two TVs (one in the living room and one in the bedroom) but I didn't watch any tv. I'd recommend this place to anyone who has to travel to Milwaukee and plans to sleep at some point in the downtown area. Also, the valet parking isn't expensive. read more
