I had a pleasant stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Milwaukee. The customer service was truly superb, staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout my visit especially the valet team! My room was clean and comfortable, meeting all expectations for a satisfactory stay. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere on my floor, which made it easy to relax and get a good night's rest. One small suggestion for improvement: a fully stocked coffee and tea station in the lobby would be a great addition and very much appreciated by guests on the go. But keep the delicious, chocolate chip "welcome " cookies at the front desk, those are the best! Overall, a solid experience and I'd gladly return.

I had a flawless 2am check in the night before. The person who booked my room accidentally booked me one extra night. When I told the people at the front desk, they allowed me to get a full refund because I gave them enough notice before the day was over. I did not expect to get a full refund and I greatly appreciate the staff at this Doubletree Hilton. They were extremely kind and easy. The rooms are high quality. Worth very extra $ spent.

This hotel is pretty nice. It is from the 1960's so I take that into consideration. It is in a great location. Right near everything you would need. I like the people who work here. They are real nice and helpful. The refrigerator in our room was not working so Elliott from Maintenance came and brought a new one. He came back again and brought us replacement drinks for what we had in there that wasn't cooling. Very thoughtful. I like the Sun Deck on the second floor. It reminds me of Denver. A nice view of the city and a place to relax and chat, have a drink. This used to be a pool but I guess they didn't get much use from it due to the cold weather most of the year. We had drinks at the bar and they were just ok. I did not care for the breakfast buffet but I don't really enjoy breakfast so I am not a good judge. I did eat the fruit and the cranberry juice was better than usual. This probably would have been a 3 star had it not have been for the outstanding Front Desk and Maintenance staff.

This is one of our favorite places in Milwaukee to stay when we visit for the Pride Festival. The rooms are kept clean and extremely comfortable, our housekeeper Esmeralda was awesome, accommodating us with anything we needed for the room and very friendly, giving us information on where we could visit. We had an issue with the air conditioner, and they sent George the Hotel engineer and he was super nice and a Military veteran like my wife, so they got to talk about their service in the Marine and Army. The staff at the front desk were super sweet, the only thing that I didn't like that changed was that this year there was no trolley to take us to the Party grounds. I loved the trolley because it kept us safe back and forth from the Party grounds. Another thing I would like to point out is that the Hotel has a deck on the second floor so that you can relax and hang out with family and friends, with a splendid view and a bar. What I don't like is that it doesn't have a bathroom so you must go back and forth to your rooms to use the bathrooms, they should really think of installing one for the guests.

Decent Hilton hotel. Security seems like a priority. Clean environment and clean room, towels and sheets. Great pillows even though I bring my own. I didn't care for the desk chair which I use a lot. The faucet was missing an aerator so the water was rushing and splashing all over. Bathroom was a bit small but plenty of counter space. Also I didn't care for the 6th street traffic especially the bus stops around the hotel. Some nice amenities including the fitness center and the 2nd floor sun deck. Valet parking only. I also added a pic of my hotel room security tip.

Bathroom was nicer than my photography skills show

I recently stayed at this hotel with my wife. We had a great time; the room was very nice and the staff was fantastic. Specifically one employee named Kevin Ramstead, he helped me out with a number of different things, super knowledgeable and efficient. I look forward to staying at this property the next time I'm in town.

    IRISH FEST 2023 GAELIC STORM
    Cathleen Q.

IRISH FEST was fantastic and the hotel accommodations were perfect! I was close to the festival and all the people in the hotel were also a part of Irish Fest. The lounge filled with people singing old Irish songs and the front desk allowed us to take over in song. It was unusual for Americans to allow such a thing I loved it felt like I was back in Ireland thank you! Also thank you Kiersten at front desk you checked me in really late! I forgot things in my car (CVS bag) you ran to the car and you were so kind about it all. Kiersten ALWAYS had a smile stayed pleasant and professional I can't say the same about some of the guys working at times seemed put out. I get it it's tiring but Kiersten I'm sure was tired too, she never showed it she was patient and helpful and kind she had the true Irish spirit of hospitality. 5 stars because of Kiersten and housekeeping (the room was very clean) The restaurant was also clean and fast. Thank you!

Had to get a drink upon arrival..

From the moment I walked in, the lobby was overwhelmed with a heavy, Axe body spray-like scent--so strong it felt like walking through a middle school locker room. I assumed it was temporary and that my room would be a relief, but unfortunately, it was worse. The room smelled musty, like a house that hasn't been aired out in years. To make matters worse, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, which is unacceptable for a hotel at this level. Beyond that, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was lacking. For a boutique property, I expected a much higher standard, but the space felt worn and not well-maintained. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and the towels were rough--far from the soft, high-end feel you'd expect. The most concerning part of my stay, though, was waking up at 1:45 AM struggling to breathe. It genuinely felt like a reaction to something in the room--possibly mold or poor air quality. I initially thought I was getting sick, but after spending a few hours away the next day, I felt completely normal again, which makes it hard to ignore the room as the cause. If you have any respiratory sensitivities, be cautious. I contacted the front desk to explain the situation and was told checking out early without being charged for another night wouldn't be an issue. I even offered to return around noon so they could turn the room, but was told not to worry since they weren't sold out. When I returned later that day, there was no note, and the staff refused to honor what I had been told, citing the late checkout time. While I understand policies, the inconsistency and lack of follow-through were frustrating. I also dined at the hotel restaurant, which didn't help the experience. The food was overpriced for the quality--my salad was warm, fries were room temperature, and clearly sat out too long. Dessert was equally disappointing; the lemon tart was buried under an excessive amount of powdered sugar, making it unpleasant to eat. It's honestly a sad day when I transferred to a basic airport hotel--Hyatt Place Milwaukee Airport--and had a significantly better experience. The bed was more comfortable, the towels were actually soft, and even the shampoo and conditioner were noticeably better quality. On top of that, the Hyatt was spotless, which only made the lack of cleanliness at Iron Horse stand out even more. Overall, this stay fell far below expectations. Between the condition of the room, air quality concerns, cleanliness issues, and poor service recovery, I won't be returning.

They greeted me warmly, helped with my bags, and even brought them up to my room. Before my trip, I was honestly a little nervous because I'd heard so many stories about the hotel being haunted. Thankfully, I didn't experience anything unusual at all. It ended up being one of the best hotel stays I've had. I stayed on one of the upper floors, and the views were beautiful. Waking up to the sunrise and watching the sunset in the evening made the stay even more special. The staff checked in with me every day to make sure I had everything I needed and were always happy to offer recommendations. They even upgraded my room at no extra charge, which was such a thoughtful surprise. The rooms include complimentary coffee, tea, and bottled water, and I was impressed with how fast the elevators were. I never waited more than a couple of minutes. The location is another huge plus. It's right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, and so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions are within walking distance. If you don't have a car, it's incredibly easy to get around, and Uber rides are very affordable. One fun thing about staying here is that there's always a chance you'll run into someone well known. I was told that every U.S. president has stayed at the hotel, which adds to its rich history and charm. The people staying at the hotel were just as friendly as the staff, and I met so many wonderful people during my visit. If you stay here, make sure to go all the way to the top floor and check out Blu. The views alone are worth it. I truly loved my stay at The Pfister. If I'm back in Milwaukee, I would absolutely stay here again. Next time, I also want to treat myself to the spa and salon inside the hotel.

I had to keep telling her we had more stuff, in the stress of waiting and having to tell her we had more items my husband's garment bag was left. It had his suit for the wedding we were going to. The whole reason for the trip. I was sent a link called " I left my stuff" which felt like a slap in the face, I didn't forget it, they did not return it. I had to pay $88 to overnight it. 6/5 it was shipped and I didn't receive it until Monday 6/8 at 10 am. So on top of the $88 we were out we had to go to a suit shop in town and spend $630 for another suit. This definitely was such a big stress of our trip.

No surprise to me, the call did not come, so here is the written review; When we arrived Sunday the 19th, it took the receptionist almost 30 minutes to get us our room. She could not find the room for the couple ahead of us in line. Eventually they stepped aside and allowed us to get our key. She had no idea what she was doing, told us she was new, and no one was around to help her. When we arrived at our room, although we booked a queen, it was a full sized bed. There was a dirty band-aid on the nightstand. Unfortunately since my husband and I were in the service industry for over a decade combined, we often give people the benefit of the doubt and ample opportunities to make things right. The TV was very small and only cable, which often cut to "no service" before reviving itself. The water pressure in the shower was abysmal. My husband bought the Brewhouse Gameday Package because it was our honeymoon. Again, the blonde girl at the front desk had no idea what was happening, no idea what the listing for the package was on the website, and no information. She directed us to the employees of On Tap, who stated "well this just looks like a screenshot from our website" ...which it was. We paid for the package, the receptionist knew nothing of it, and the staff at On Tap knew nothing about why the receptionist knew nothing. Over and over, excuses were made because "she's really new here". We were eventually given our 2 free drinks and our $40 comp for the restaurant, probably just because we wouldn't let it go. Come the end of the Brewers game, we wait where we were directed to. No shuttle comes. My husband calls the hotel, and they say they just made their last run and will not be coming back for us. Again, the brand new, know-nothing receptionist. We were specifically told by the shuttle driver that he would make runs for up to an hour after the game, or until everyone was collected. We took the shuttle there; he knew we were supposed to be on the one back to the hotel as well. Overall, it is pretty gross business to advertise so falsely and to do nothing to rectify unacceptable failures when your guests repeatedly come to you with needs. Had this been a $150 hotel, I wouldn't be writing this. I would chalk it up to "you get what you pay for" but to pay $1000 for 2 nights + the Gameday Package that let us down in almost every direction? I am honestly shocked. The morning of our check-out, we explained to a more veteraned pair of receptionists everything that had disappointed us and let us down during our stay. We were told the hotel manager was on a call; they took down my husband's name and phone number and said he would be called in a couple of days, and apologized. Finally, someone seemed to at least pretend to care. Anyway, to the hotel manager, Christopher - seriously? What could possibly be the excuse? Train your staff. At least a little. Is this just so commonplace at the Brewhouse Inn you just don't bother calling to make things right? Our friends and family will know each and every detail of our frustrating, lame stay at the Brewhouse Inn, I can tell you that much. I hope business for the rest of the season is what you deserve it to be.

The only negative I will say with this, is that it can become a bit of a zoo during the main dining times: kids running all around, a lack of cutlery at times, and sometimes long lines waiting to get beer/wine/mixed drinks. Despite these minor inconveniences, Drury Inn & Suites offering this sets them above and beyond the rest. This Drury Inn & Suites in particular is walking distance to some of the major attractions in the downtown Milwaukee area, including the Miller High Life Theater, Milwaukee Public Market, and the intermodal Amtrak station.
