Great place to stay. Rooms felt new and updated. Front desk was helpful. Only downside was the breakfast in the morning

Quoted $150 at check in but charged $236. Said prices change with how busy they are. Bull. Will never stay there again. Don't do it.

This is the spot to stay when visiting the North Pole (which is really only 15 miles from Fairbanks). Great hotel, nice staff.

On a clear night you can see the Aurora's and take photos beneath them. There are cross country ski's and snow steppers to borrow to go for a lovely trail trek through the snow. There is Skiland near by where you can ski or snowboard. Chena hot springs is about an hour and a half away. I'm so glad I stayed here!!! TRUELY A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE. THANK YOU I enjoyed the peace and feeling of being away from it all. charming. (No tv in the rooms which is ok by me. )

If you're staying in Fairbanks to see the northern lights, Mount Aurora is the right choice!…read moreVisited Fairbanks during the month of March, we weren't guaranteed to see the aurora but Jeff told us that March is a great month for it. Out of the two days we stayed in the lodge, we saw the aurora borealis both nights!!!! We were fortunate enough to see it, off of our bucket list! (if you want to see it better, bring a digital camera or a professional one for a better view since human eye doesn't really capture the lights) Location: Before we checked in, we made sure to visit other places near the airport, since this lodge is farther from the airport. But heading there is not as bad. When we got there, we were greeted by Jeff. He showed us the place, and he told us he'll give us a knock once the aurora is out. They were right next to a little trail, so we managed to hike it for a bit before the sun set. Room: Our room was simple, but cute and rustic. It had two beds, but the main bed is so comfortable that we slept so well! It's also near a window that has amazing view of the trees and mountains. When we arrived, the sun was barely setting and it was breathtaking! Shared bathroom--it's not that awkward at all. Just make sure you always lock your door if not used, and locked the other room's door if you're using it. Food: Breakfast is part of the cost, but you can tell them ahead of time if you want lunch and/or dinner. Of course, there's a charge. They also sell beverages such as water, soda and alcohol. You can either pay cash or add it to your payment. They have microwave and complimentary food and drinks such as tea, coffee, muffins, and other snacks. Feel free to go to downstairs to hang out there, watch tv, relax on the couch, etc. Lori was so nice, that we didn't really make it for breakfast since we woke up late but she still made us eggs and toasted bread!! We missed their dogs Hank and Blaze! They were very friendly and playful. Overall, it was a great experience staying in this lodge. It's a family run; we even met this one lady who helped us the way to get to Chena Hot Springs.

I had to dispute a $3500 total charge on my credit card. When the charge should have been $2500. I payed online when I made the hotel reservation and the hotel ran my card again when I arrived. Con: I was harassed by the breakfast lady. She would run from the kitchen door, post guard next to the buffet trays and then peak over my shoulder every time I opened a tray to get food. My wife was on the phone and saw the kitchen lady gruff her disgusting hair across my left shoulder as she eyed my plate. This is unacceptable behavior for any staff member at any IHG hotel. This is the worst IHG Army Hotel I have stayed at in recent memory. Please take your business somewhere else. This place does not deserve to serve service members and their familys

At first I was skeptical, but after staying (8) days and spending time in Fairbanks, this really was not only the best choice, but the logical one due to having access to Base. Hotel is located right across from PX & the Commissary which is great, and near BK & Papa John's Pizza. Some parking in front which stayed full, but plenty of a parking on side (little farther away). First word of advice - book as early as possible as we were in Alaska for a wedding, and other attendees stated they had to stay elsewhere due to no rooms. They were not happy with accommodations off-post. Check-in & out was easy, no issues. Our room was clean and ready (checked-in around midnight due to flight). Basic room, bed was okay (little soft), had a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee machine with a couple of K-Cups (coffee & tea). The shower had soap & shampoo dispensers (full) with Dove products (nice). Breakfast is complementary, and the hours are great - plenty of time to get something to eat without feeling u will miss the time window. The breakfast is a pretty good lay-out with plenty of options. Everything tasted pretty good and fresh- bread, bagels, muffins. You had different types of egg omelets, scramble eggs, bacon, sausage & turkey sausage each day. Oatmeal, dry cereal with milk, yogurt etc. There is free laundry rooms on each floor (3). The Staff was super friendly and helpful, we were always greeted coming & going, any issues we had were addressed. They are short on house keeping staff so we exchanged towels at front desk when needed. Overall a great stay, and definitely worth booking if staying in Fairbanks.

The lodging in the glass ceiling igloos was spacious and warm for the two of us. Beds were very comfortable, looking up at the norther sky. The restrooms had a spacious shower. There is a small coffee bar with assortments of coffees and teas and a small fridge. One welcome feature was the in room phone that served as a wake up call when the Auroras were visible, no matter the time. We could fall off to sleep knowing if the auroras appeared we wouldn't miss them. The dining options started with a free complete breakfast all you can eat buffet with a made to order omelet station. We had the choice of eating lunch and dinner at The Pub that offered delicious pub type foods, complete with beer, wine and cocktails. For a more upscale meal, we reserved a table at the Latitude 65 restaurant. The flavors and presentation of the meals were top notch. During the day we made use of a few of the adventure center tours. The 3 hour snow machine trip was a blast. We rode out on well groomed trails with a experienced guide. Our snow machines were top notch, even with heated handle bar grips. They supplied us with extremely warm bibs and parkas for a comfortable trip. The next day we experienced an amazing 1 hour dog sled ride with a local musher. We got to interact and pet the dogs before and after our tour. a wonderful experience. I could go on and on but I couldn't say enough good things about my wife and I's experience here a the Borealis Basecamp. A truly bucket list trip.

ITS A SCAM! DO NOT BOOK HERE!…read more This is an overpriced hostel. They have no actual restaurant onsite and only have a microwave sandwich. This is not advertised in their "Luxury" desciption. Room is a Motel 6 room. Two pillows per hard, lumpy bed. Even Motel 6 gives you 4 per bed... They also force you to remove your shoes, you are not allowed to wear them inside the building or to your room. They force you to wear slippers. This is not posted online. Walls are filthy, I don't ever know how you mess up a wall so badly. Check out the pic. Then they force Covid rules and restrictions like masks and 6 foot social distancing but then force us to share a fridge and table with strangers? 100% scam, do not book here! Our car was only one in parking lot. However we found out later other people were staying there. Maybe using cab service? Just found whole situation odd including the slippers they asked guests to wear while in building. Over priced for what was offered.
