Have to say I'm honestly extremely disappointed. I had high hopes based off the travel sites and yelp reviews. They failed pretty miserably. To start, we arrived from Texas at 4:00 Central Time and our room still wasn't ready. We were informed the sheets were being dried and we needed to wait 10 more minutes. Not a problem. The service was extremely friendly and I'm a pretty patient guy so it wasn't that big of a deal. They informed me they would call my cell in 10 minutes and we would be ready to go! After waiting for 30 minutes in the parking lot with no call I finally walked back in and was informed then that the room was ready and waiting. The lobby was immaculate and has very interesting decor which my wife really liked. We reserved the "cottage" room 403. Walking in, it smelled of fresh paint which I didn't mind at all. Not a big problem at all. However, when I opened the fold out couch to get the kids bed set up, the sheets were soaking wet. Seriously? Why did we wait again? Anyway, slight oversight by housekeeping I guess. I called the front desk and I had dry sheets within 5 minutes which I put on and we moved forward. Later that evening we found out that the room safe was broken and so was the AC in the front room. Being the kids bed time, there wasn't any point in calling for service to fix that and having to wait for however long that would have taken. We just dealt with it. The kicker comes at 2:00 in the morning when the wind picked up as a storm rolled through. Apparently the back patio door doesn't stay shut OR lock! So when the wind started blowing while we slept, the door slams open and the rain comes in. Waking everyone. Not happy now. I used a robe belt to tie the door shut and tried to get back to sleep. However, too many little quirks at this point to appease me. And for the cost? No way. I was expecting much better. This place is way overpriced compared to what you can get anywhere else for the same product. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I won't be staying here again. The customer service was top notch but the room was dismal. Makes me sad that my first time in Albuquerque was spent here. read more

I've stayed at the Parq Central three times now, so this review is overdue. I love staying at this hotel - it's always such a pleasurable experience. That experience starts with the staff. They are consistently friendly and welcoming. I also have to say that I'm in love with the decor and design elements. It is a wonderful mix of old and new, with motifs and artwork that incorporates and highlights the historical aspects of the building. There is also a light and airy sunroom towards the back of the hotel, with succulent plants and palms, among others. The chaise loungers here are a perfect place to work or relax. The outdoor patio is also a beautiful place to take in the warm sunshine, with a fountain, landscaping and tables with umbrellas. The rooms are stylish and, importantly, very clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the Bigelow products (shampoo, lotion, soap, etc.) are of good quality. The fitness center is in a separate building (a very short walk across the parking lot) and is small, but adequate. One of my favorite aspects about this hotel is the complimentary breakfast. I have been consistently impressed with the offerings, which include two different types of quiche (and which the hostess will gladly warm for you). In addition to that, there is a wide variety of delicious and flaky pastries and muffins, as well as fresh fruit, cereals, and coffee. I also like the fact that the ambient music they play is all classic crooner stuff from circa 1940s. I always look forward to my stay. Parq Central, please don't change. read more

We had placed a reservation through the the hotel but shortly after called to cancel we found a airbnb and decided to stay there. Unfortunately we were charged for the room. We called to fix this and get it worked out. Even going to the hotel to show the call log of us calling the hotel to cancel our reservation, We never got a cancelation email which is problematic. when we talked to the staff they could not help us at all and we're at a lost of what to do. I asked for a manager and got a business card. It seems like a nice place but this experience tells me the staff either does not care, or does not know how to handle customers. This was one of the nicest dog-friendly hotels I've ever stayed. The place was clean, comfortable, well-situated near good restaurants and the employees were very nice and helpful. The rooftop bar was a great place to get a drink at sunset (although less of a great place to get food in general). The complimentary breakfasts in the morning were delicious. I've stayed at a lot of hotels across the country and abroad, and this was one of the most enjoyable stays I've had, especially when you figure in the very reasonable price. My husband and I actually altered our itineraries just to be able to stay here an extra night as it was so relaxing. read more

Lovely hotel with amazing architecture and very friendly staff. First of all, the hotel is in a historical building that used to be a hospital. But no worries, my room was very comfortable with a desk and chair, spacious shower, and modern furniture with a classical touch. It was very clean with white crisp sheets, and a spotless bathroom. My room had some nice details such as a framed old glass serving plate, a poster of a postcard, and old doorknobs to hang your clothes on. The room also had an iron, radio with iPod docking, and lovely soap/shampoo/lotion. The first floor is pet friendly (I saw several doggies walking around), but the rooms on the higher floors are pet-free. I stayed here on a business trip and it was a great place to prepare my lecture and get some rest afterwards. Wireless was fast and reliable. The breakfast was great too. Everyone was welcomed with a smile and a nice "good morning". They warmed up slices of quiche(2 options) for all guests, and offered boiled eggs, pastries, fruit salad, and a range of oatmeal and granola mixes with yoghurts and milk. Super chic remodeled hospital turned into a very cool hotel! Very grateful they are pet friendly! We would definitely stay here again if passing through! One issue I would fix is that it's not clear where the front entrance to the hotel is nor is there any help with your bags. Very cool design and thought put into the room and theme of the old hospital. There are window boxes in the halls that accent old medicine and remedies and the art pays tribute to the hospital as well. The rooftop bar and deck is fabulous but they're lacking fire-pits or heaters on the roof for chilly nights. The Apothecary lounge/bar needs some carpet or rugs for insulation because it's so loud. We had been driving all day and it was just too much to handle, but they were very flexible and delivered the food to our room! A couple of bonuses are the coffee stations on each floor so you don't have to go all the way down to the kitchen/breakfast area to get a quick cup, and the complimentary breakfast! Great boutique hotel! The customer service was excellent during my 2 night stay. The hotel itself is very modern, chic, clean, and tastefully decorated. The room was a bit small, but adequate. The bathroom was very nice and quite roomy with a large stand up shower. The toiletries were great (Bigelow apothecaries); towels were Frette brand (very plush); two bathrobes in the room. Hotel offers a nice free breakfast. Parking is free. Location is close to the airport. The lounge on the top floor is great too. The rooftop seating area has a great view of the city; food and drinks were yummy; and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area. Hotel Parq Central was once Memorial Hospital which served psychiatric patients. And before even that history, it was a hospital that served the rail road workers circa 1920s. It has been the subject of paranormal investigations. Many of us New Mexicans who are familiar with this property were a bit spooked yet intrigued by the renovated boutique hotel called Hotel Parq Central. I was familiar with Memorial Hospital and visited clients there who were inpatient for psychiatric needs. I and a team of curious friends ventured there on Halloween night (of their opening year) to take in the atmosphere. It was decorated a tad bit for Halloween; however, it was cold and aloof. The bright lightening was even brighter and harsher then your office space. The decor was stylish yet cold and somewhat inviting. A few fixtures were falling off of the walls, but it was probably because it was so new. All of that falls aside; however, when you step out of the balcony of the bar and see the romantic and one of a kind view of downtown Albuquerque. That is a must see, especially at night when you go to Hotel Parq Central. The bar is nice, even nicer is the fact that you can sit on amazingly comfy furniture on the balcony and enjoy it even better. They offer full service outside as well. The drinks and food are stylish as well, and a bit pricey but worth the view alone. It offers upscale selections - delish appetizers and any drink you can think up. We ran the hallways to get a peek at any ghosts, and before we were asked what we were doing there, we got a peek at a room. It too was cold and aloof with that ultra bright lighting. I am a fan of soft lighting and lush atmosphere, so this wasn't my taste. Opinions aside, you must see this sight if you are ever in Albuquerque, NM. Oh... and we never saw a ghost. read more

Phone in the room did not work, a/c did not work and temps were over 100 , fridge did not work. The night manager was young, inexperienced and not at all professional. The general manager took his time to respond (several emails and phone calls were sent to him) When he responded he said there wasn't anything he could do. There are a lot of hotels in this area - I would most definitely find another to stay at! read more

While the hotel is very nice, clean with amenities such as included breakfast, I can't give it more than couple of star. The hotel is hosting a wedding and their party is on the roof lounge and we can hear the loud music on the second floor the entire evening. It is 11:40 pm and even though we called and was told they would ask the DJ to decrease the volume or that it would end at 11, it is still going on. The front desk is very apologetic and the next call informed us midnight is the end of the part. We (family with two small children) have not been able to have a restful night yet. We should have been warned about the noise/party or have been placed in another area of the hotel. I would not have stayed at this hotel if I had known that they allow receptions/parties in areas where it is very loud for other hotel guests very late at night. Most hotels even limit pool or outdoor activities beyond 10pm. This is unacceptable. read more

Just loved this hotel! To start with, the rooftop bar offers fantastic views and some very interesting drinks. The waitstaff was very friendly and offered lots of useful tips for our first time in Albuquerque. The character of this place is just so cool. They made a real effort to make it a unique hotel and maintain the hospital history! We truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff at the front desk was amazing. We decided on mass transit to get around and with a local bus stop right out front, it couldn't have been easier. We were pointed to some great options for sight seeing, restaurants and even some excellent motorcycle rides (we rented one for a day). All the staff was very friendly. (Special kudos to the young gentleman at the front desk that graciously took pictures of a rather "wild" bridal shower party!) Walking distance to the main train station, downtown, UNM and Nob Hill (almost?!). The little extras they provide in the room, the usual shampoo, conditiioner, etc., but make up remover pad, q-tips, nail file, magnified mirror, etc. was just a great bonus. We didn't know too much about the neighborhoods around Albuquerque with respect to safety (honestly, we didn't find a bad one in our travels) but Hotel Parq Central felt very safe to us. There were weddings both weekends we were there but even with the reception room directly below us, we were not in the least bothered by the noise or the commotion! And a beautiful place for weddings as well! This is a definite must when we return! read more

Pleasantly surprised. I chose this place partially because it is #1 on TripAdvisor. I have still had bad experiences so I read through many property reviews first. It was just a 1 night stop but I wanted to feel safe and get what I paid for. The front desk clerk walked us to our room while explaining features along the way. Very clean and exceptionally friendly staff. I will rate the lounge separately though because that's the only place I had issue with. Room was clean and we'll decorated. Bathroom was clean, it is a non smoking property and water was still available in the lobby at 11pm! No issue with pet smell. I highly recommend it, I am glad we came off the 40 to find this. read more

This is a really nice, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar is something you want to check out. Free breakfast was good and it lasted until 12:00 on Saturday. They have coffee and tea stations on each floor. Hot tub is on the smaller size but is open 24 hours. Our bathroom was large and clean. The room was big too. We did find what looked like a blood stain on one of the pillows though..... Otherwise probably would have given 5 stars. You can walk to a few restaurants near by and all the ones we tried were really good. The neighborhood looks a little rough but we didn't have any problems walking around. The hotel is pet friendly beyond pet friendly, they love animals! and even have their own wonderful border collie that lives there when his owner is working. They are also military friendly, and have a gov rate. This is now my hotel whenever I stay in Albuquerque whether traveling with pets or not. The Apothecary lounge roof top patio is a perfect place for a relaxing view of the city night lights, the food was good and the drinks were great. It has an upbeat contemporary vibe. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past. While I find that the previous past of this hotel as a tuberculosis sanatorium a bit creepy, the facility was pretty nice for Albuquerque standards. That said, my stay this past weekend included a terrible, mostly sleepless night as I discovered that this hotel has taken to holding noisy weddings and reception activities. Now in most hotels this can be properly handled because they have large enclosed ballrooms that have decent sound insulation. Not so at the Hotel Parq Central. That roof top open air bar you have been reading about in these comments becomes the open air stage for late night wedding party public address sound system amplified revelry that is "broadcast" live to those in the hotel trying to get some sleep. After a tiring day I always want to be in an hotel that respects the reason it exists in the first place; a place to get a quiet night's rest. The Hotel Parq Central evidently has a different business plan and has resultantly been removed from my choice of a play to stay in Albuquerque. read more

My boyfriend and I spent the Saturday night at Parq Central after arriving from a long flight, needless to say we were very tired and were both looking forward to a night of peaceful relaxation. However, that was not the case. Our room was on the third floor, right under the hotel lounge. All night we could hear tables and chairs sliding and guests being LOUD. We called the front desk around 8 and the women at the desk said it would be dying down soon, we believed her mostly because it was rainy and windy and who wants to be outside during a rainstorm with 30mph winds? So we left to dinner came back and got ready for bed, and it was still loud as ever! Finally fed up, around 12:30 we called again. A different person answered and he said the bar would be closing soon and it would end. At that point, we requested a different room. They offered us a room in a different building and the first floor. There was no way we'd saunter across a dark parking lot at midnight in our pajamas, so we took the first floor room. I really wanted to like this place, it's chic, clean, and conveniently located, the staff was accommodating, but having a bar on property takes away from its so called urban-oasis. I feel lied to. read more

Service was horrible!!! They couldn't be any ruder. Go in with a 2 year old and they went out of their way to make my daughter feel like she was in the wrong place because of her son. They actually stopped her in her tracks on her way outside to the rooftop lounge to tell her he wasn't allowed in there after 9pm. It was only 7pm. She didn't realize what they were saying to her and because of their tenacity to advise her of this as she was walking by them on her way outside. She felt they were telling her she was not permitted at all so she stopped and sat down where she stood. They clarified after i realized she was not with me outside and I asked them if there was a problem with the toddler being there that kids were allowed in their rooftop lounge until 9pm, with their noses in the air, and THEN granted us permission to enter to greet our party. How embarrassing! Well I feel SO welcome now. You bock at her for asking for chocolate milk, milk, juice of any kind. What bar doesn't have juices to mix their drinks?? I understand that you didn't gear your establishment toward children, it is a lounge after all. I knew that going into it. However, we had a really important reason to go to your place but you certainly didn't need to make us feel like that for bringing a child into your place. You took forever to get our orders and drinks. You were obviously disgusted at any question we asked you. You came to my daughter at 8:44 pm and had the audacity to tell her in the rudest manner "i'm sorry but its way past 9 and you need......" That's where I interrupted her. We still had 15 minutes to subject ourselves to your continued abuse. She said "oh, someone told me it was way past 9" and walked away They had so many rules I felt like I was not able to breathe without permission. WAIT! There's more. After she told us to leave early (understand the only reason she told us to leave is because we were guilty by association w/ a child on-board. We were not being heathen guests that warranted a "please leave" response from staff and all of this really was just the one waitress but...she is YOUR waitress), she brought my check and in the most disgustingly, fake, nice way explained that for parties of 6 or more, they require a 20% gratuity which has already been figured into our bill......I'll let that sit for a minute. ...a required tip that gets me horrible service and attitude with NOT EVEN A SMILE....EVER...and to be made to feel the way she made us feel! Yep. That's customer service in this corporate, money hungry society we have created. What's worse, we were only a party of 4 and a 2 year old. That didn't snap right away so i let that one go but once it did, it was only appropriate to say, "put em on blast!" Really. Skip this place. Grab a "pic-a-nick" basket and a bottle of wine and AWESOME people, and find a GREAT view on a hill in the desert somewhere in Albuquerque better than being treated like you should have never come in in the first place with a relatively crappy view, actually, ("eh! I've seen better") on their rooftop lounge. You'd be much better off in time, money, and experience. read more

We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Parq Central on the weekend of July 10, 2021. It was such a fascinating and lovely place. The historical preservation of the architectural details is really simple and outstanding. Some of the preservation and updates are so organic to be barely perceptible. The windows and ceilings are lovely, as are the touches of furniture and lighting. The inside staircase going up to the apothecary is dynamic in its structure and functionality, as are the inner staircases throughout the building. The historical montages about the place are so tasteful and just beautifully and simply presented-some of the findings came from the basement in the physician quarters. Make sure if you stay to stop and roam the halls a bit. I will pause here and say that as amazing as the Hotel and grounds are, the star of this show is Jeremiah-he has been at the front desk for 10 years. He is knowledgable about the Hotel Parq Central, enthusiastic about customer service and passionate about culture of his community. He provided me with a brochure about the remodel, as well as his own information and knowledge of his past and present experience there. read more

Rented the cottage suite and I was not disappointed. The room was beautiful! The living room was comfortable and the bathroom was modern, clean and very spacious. The actual bedroom was gorgeous. It had very high ceilings, a fire place, huuuge bed, and double doors leading to a patio. The bed and linens were very comfortable and I could have slept the day away if I didn't have to check out. The hotel all around is lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel. read more

Did not enjoy my stay at this hotel whatsoever. Amenities were old, including the door and closet. It looked super ancient, and the door was not by card but rather old school lock and key. The phone was broken so I couldn't even call. Everything seemed super old and room was also really small. No elevators and the buildings aren't connected so you have to go out in the freezing cold to get to your room. Breakfast limited options and weren't that good. Carpet in the room was also stained. we stayed at the Hotel and went to the bar. The place itself is pretty cool, the service was spotty because they had lost a bartender and a waiter or someone(?) was filling in. He didnt ask for ID or knew what drinks we ordered and what we owed in the end. So it came out all free... which was great for us, bad for them. The drinks were VERY pricey. read more

Got a good deal on a room rate via Expedia and I have to say this boutique hotel didn't disappoint. Conveniently located in between the university and downtown and not far from the airport this was a convenient location. The point of difference here: service, service, service. Right at check in you already feel pampered with the staff taking the time to walk you on a tour of the hotel and to your room. Room was clean with excellent bedding, shower and bath products. The highlight: breakfast. Although the room rate states continental breakfast this is definitely an outstanding and upgraded continental breakfast with quiche, hard boiled eggs and amazing pastries. I couldn't resist the almond croissant. From top to bottom, a five stars experience throughout the stay. The only downside to be aware of, the proximity to I 25 may have an impact on noise level and quality of sleep if you are a light sleeper. read more

Got married in March at Hotel Parq Central. The hotel is beautiful and so accommodating. We had our ceremony by the fountain, cocktail hour on the roof top bar, and reception in the courtyard. No extra charges for using multiple locations. We love our event manager, Jose Villa. He was so easy to work with and so organized. Everything turned out to be better than we anticipated. We received great comments from our guests about the gorgeous view from the roof top and the delicious food served during cocktail hour and at the reception. Our out of town guests were able to stay at the hotel, enjoyed the 24 hour hot tub, and walk to some of the most popular restaurants in ABQ for lunch and dinner. Our complimentary hotel suit was very nice and comfortable. They also have the most reasonable prices for wedding in ABQ. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Jose and Noelle. read more

This was hands down the nicest experience I've had at a hotel. The service was great. The front desk was able to help me without any problems...and I always have problems because I am exceptionally picky or I expect too much from people. I can't believe the room rates were so good. Everything from the toilets , the bedding, to the TV were of the highest quality. The roof top views couldn't have been a better touch. The ambiance was really cool, it seemed like a converted mental hospital but only the brick architecture and sweet courtyards gave that away. There is a park right behind if you need a little exercise and next door I saw a heated yoga studio. I would not go anywhere else. read more
