Great place for an Old Fashioned. We have dropped in around lunchtime and th blood was amazing. This time it was just for a drink, and it was the best drink I had that night. The staff were friendly and the crowd vibe was positive. I will return.

Continuing our 500+ mile/day I-10 cross country delivery of a very lucky fur-baby, we next landed at the eastern end of TX, in El Paso, at the Hotel Paso del Norte. Once again, she surprised with a reservation for the penthouse's premium Governor's Suite. This was the most off the hook "room" I've ever crashed at - with two large bedrooms (1 king + 2 queens), two massive bathrooms - each with their own stand-alone soaking tubs - and in between the bedroom "wings" was a massive living room with... a full-sized grand piano?! Because it's top floor and on the corner, the large arched windows provided 270 degree (3/4 wrap-around) views. Staff was amazing and had a charcuterie board with berries, cheeses, and meats laid out on (one of) the dining tables, along with a chilled bottle of champaign. Thanks to its walkable location we grabbed burgers at a nearby craft cocktail speakeasy (The Reagan) and returned for a long, hot soak, ready for the last day's 450 mi drive.

What a lovely hotel this is, right in the heart of EP downtown. We had an overnight here on a recent road trip, specifically selecting due to them being big dog friendly. From the moment we pulled up we found the staff here to be so warm and welcoming... Valet team, front desk and housekeeping! We had a nice large room on the 16th floor and it gave us a view across the downtown area. The room was clean, comfortable with great sleep quality. The building is really beautiful and a must see is the stained glass ceiling. The area around the hotel is very walkable with restaurants, a park and some shops a couple blocks away. Could not be more pleased with our stay!

I came here last weekend for high tea. This was quite a delightful experience. It was a birthday gift for my neighbors daughter who turned 11 so her mom myself and her daughter all dressed in high tea attire the experience was totally heightened by the beautiful hotel. I'm gonna throw some pictures in the bottom of this review but I'm telling you it is a beautiful hotel even if you don't go to high tea, go sit at the bar and have a cocktail or a mococktail and enjoy the beautiful interior and the dome ceiling.

Welcome to the Hotel Paso Del Norte!

A spectacular hotel experience. From the moment I arrived the staff was polite, receptive and attentive. My room was exceptionally clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable (neither too firm nor too soft), and the hotel is located in a great downtown area with plenty of dining and shopping options within walking distance. I would absolutely staff here again, and again, and again.

Excellent! I was traveling through El Paso and figured I'd give it a try! This hotel is awesome!! It's located right downtown. You can walk to all the restaurants close by, but that's only if you don't want to partake in the several choices they have available on property. The service was just incredible. It's definitely worth the visit!

Beautiful beautiful hotel! When you check in the give you a glass of champagne. It's a really good experience checking in. The decor is insanely gorgeous. Rooms are huge and quiet and comfy. You are an extremely short walk to the boarder. You can walk over and shop and have a wonderful lunch and walk right back. Great great location

Beautiful hotel in the heart of of DT. Easy to walk everywhere. Make sure to check if there is an event happening as several streets will be closed and it will be hard yo get to the valet area. But Lovely place and great service. The rooms were nice and comfortable as well after a very long drive.the Dome Bar is excellent for a nightcap

Such a beautiful property with very friendly staff. Uniquely Texas flair with staffers wearing Stetsons and boots. This property feels high end with Cigar bar, spa and a rooftop bar and pool with city views. It's upscale but not pretentious. Wether you are an average Joe or Celebrity I can see how this hotel is sought after.

Oops! I thought I rated them while I was there. Wonderful staff, beautifully decorated and perfectly located. We come here for work and actually try to pick this trip up just so we can stay here. The bed was even comfortable and there was lots of water pressure and hot water. For those that travel a lot, they know that's a real issue. LOL Lots of wonderful restaurants in walking distance and there's a speak easy in one of the boot stores that recently opened. Look around the custom boots to see if you can find your way in.

I searched for a grand hotel for my stay in El Paso, Texas. I was limited to three options. I choose Hotel Paso Del Norte due to the quality photos and good reviews. I was not disappointed, The service and decor is amazing exceptional. The hotel has several restaurants that offer quality food and drinks. Some nights there is live piano music.. I will definitely rebook.

Decided to fly into El Paso for a night at this hotel because of the 1700 degree steak house. This beautiful old hotel with a lot of history exceeded our expectations. Very nice room with plenty of space and we had a view of Mexico from the seventh floor. We had drinks and a snack for lunch at one of their restaurants and saved room for a delicious dinner at the 1700 degree steak house. The porterhouse was one of the best I've had. Cooked perfectly and sliced off the bone before it was served. Beautiful presentation as it was put back together next to the bone before. Did not have enough time to experience everything and should have stayed two days. If we knew they also had a cigar bar and a tequila bar with flights of tequila and food we would have planned a longer trip. Guess we will be back.

A lovely hotel - used to be the Camino Real when i was younger, and is now Paso Del Norte.... But those same marble steps and the marble staircase is still there. I have photos on it from over 20 years ago. And photos on it from less than 1 year ago. Paso Del Norte is located smack dap in the middle of downtown. It offers luxury rooms, amazing dining options (1700 is my favorite), multiple bars and even rooftop pools and lounges! 1700 is luxury steak dining. The Dome Bar is really neat. The theatre and San Jacinto Plaza are less than a block away. It's a great place yo relax, stay, or just hang at for the evening.

The gentleman working the breakfast area was incredibly kind and frequently checked on guests. The manager (jet-black hair and a big black mustache) was also very friendly and welcoming. There's a Starbucks right in the parking lot. The lobby and exterior were attractive and well-maintained. You can tell someone takes pride in the property's appearance. Unfortunately, the guest rooms told a different story. Our first night was spent in a double queen room where the towels smelled strongly of mildew and the heater took forever to warm the room. For the remainder of our stay, we moved into a king suite with a rollaway bed. Initially I was excited. More space, bigger bed, huge closet, and even a balcony! Then reality set in. The balcony was filthy and the view wasn't exactly something I'd call scenic. The bathroom doorknob was broken, the bathroom door didn't fit properly in the frame, and the ceiling was actually coming down. Every time the door opened or closed it scraped against the ceiling. There was also a leak under the sink, forcing us to use our bath towels to soak up water. The biggest disappointment, however, was the housekeeping staff. Several employees appeared visibly irritated when we declined room service early one morning. One employee became noticeably upset and began loudly speaking in Spanish while looking directly at me. When I asked if there was a problem, the answer was "No." Whether there was a misunderstanding or not, the interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. I reported it to the front desk, but it seemed to be brushed aside. Overall, the hotel staff at the front desk and breakfast area were wonderful, but the condition of the room and the housekeeping experience overshadowed the positives.

There were definitely some highlights: the restaurant was excellent, and the orange juice was genuinely some of the best I've ever had. The valet service was fantastic as well--I never had to worry about parking, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The gym was also well-equipped, with towels provided, a good variety of equipment, and even a Pilates machine. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk staff, particularly a morning employee named Edgar, left a very negative impression. On more than one occasion, I returned to the hotel and stood outside the entrance for 15-20 minutes waiting to be let in. He had seen me leave earlier and could clearly see me waiting at the door, yet made no effort to assist. Beyond that, his overall demeanor came across as passive-aggressive and unwelcoming. It's disappointing because the rest of the property and staff were great, and I genuinely enjoyed many aspects of my stay. However, customer service at the front desk is a major part of the guest experience, and this behavior was completely unacceptable. I would consider staying here again, but management should address this issue if they want guests to feel welcomed and valued.
