I absolutely loved staying in this hotel! It has a bed and breakfast feel. The location was perfect and within walking distance from everything. The hotel has the Bavarian Hotel theme along with everything in Leavenworth. There are 3 floors, but no elevator. You get an old fashioned room key instead of a hotel card reader. You'll find a water carafe with cups in front of the stairs incase you need water in the middle of the night. The receptionist is also the same person serving you breakfast. She will send you a confirmation text before your arrival. I really enjoyed their traditional German breakfast, which includes cold cuts of meat, pastries, muffins, bread, and hard (or soft boiled) eggs. The room itself was very spacious. I liked the heated floors in the bathroom. The room includes one of those flat screens that turns into a painting / background when you turn it off. If you didn't know it was a TV, you'd think it's just framed artwork on the wall. Great location, great service, great food. One of my favorite places to stay. read more

Location, location, location! Prime parking in downtown Leavenworth, especially on a weekend, made this stay worth it. The breakfast spread was well done and service was super friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was also quiet which was great. This place is small and charming. I wouldn't consider it a luxury for the price they charge but it was still very nice. We splurged for a balcony room which I didn't find worth it. The balcony just overlooked the parking area. read more

we stayed in the historic church. It was absolutely beautiful and the room along with the rest of the hotel was spotless. Seeing an old hotel kept in this immaculate condition is awesome "maintenance" Mandy is one of those people that will make your whole trip feel more magical, either Mandy or Donna were serving up a lovely breakfast that we grew very accustomed to, and I am finding that to be the hardest part to leave behind. The only reason I can't give this place five stars is because Leavenworth has a tremendous amount of light pollution with all of the Christmas lights and unfortunately, the drapes in the church rooms do not extend to the ceiling so the room does not get dark. I suggest you bring a sleeping mask earplugs too because the trash trucks come through the Alleyway very early in the morning. lastly the bed was softer then we prefer but i understand it's a preference. read more

Loved this hotel. First off, having free parking is really essential if you plan to be here during high season. Every single public lot and all street parking I saw was packed to the gills. The ambiance of this hotel cannot be beat. The cute wood furniture is just to die for. I stayed in the Herzog room. The canopy bed is so cute and was very comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. Plus the fire gives the room such a nice homey ambiance! It doesn't put out too much heat, so you can enjoy it without overheating if you want to. The jacuzzi this room was very enjoyable as well. Overall, while I was disappointed with the town of Leavenworth, the trip was worth it just to enjoy this cute hotel. If I ever came back, I'd book this room again. Removed a star because the floors/walls are thin. If they are vacuuming a room near you, you will be waking up early where you like it or not read more

Had an amazing stay at Pension Anna. The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was a high point of my mornings, and our room was cute and functional. Parking being included was much appreciated during the busy winter season. Everything was clean and comfortable. They're located downtown, which makes walking everywhere incredibly easy. I removed one star because our room seemed to be under a staircase and we were woken up by loud, repeated thumps of people using the stairs throughout the early morning both days of our stay. I'll definitely return to this hotel, I'll just pick another room away from that staircase :) read more

My husband and I just wrapped up our Honeymoon in Leavenworth. We booked our hotel months out and searched high and low for a quaint hotel, close to the main strip that held up the Bavarian vibes. We found Pension Anna and it met all the marks! But it wasn't until we got to the hotel to know how special this place really is. If you are looking for a main stream cookie cutter hotel then this place may not be for you. But if you want something that is family run and cares truly about their guests, then bar none this is for you! We absolutely loved Abby she was amazing. We were even highly encouraged to stay an extra night due to road conditions. Martin made sure that our Christmas didn't skip a beat! We were moved to a suite and not only did it come with a fire place and jacuzzi, it also had a full sized Christmas tree! I was in love! We needed help laundering some clothes and they were again super gracious. We've already talked about when our next trip can be so that we can come back! I have NEVERRRRR been so embarrassed to stay here. I have an emotional support animal due to my PTSD serving in Iraq, but because they decline support animals they kicked us out of our room. We are out of state and we're not aware of differing laws. We offered to pay the $200 pet cleaning but they would not accept. I have never experienced such blantantly atrocious behavior in my life. We decided to go to Leavenworth for our 1 year anniversary. Due to COVID we were a bit nervous about staying at a hotel so of course I did a ton of research and found that the staff at Pension Anna take a lot of safety precautions, require masks when you are outside of your room, sanitize and clean everything and have changed their breakfast bar so now they bring breakfast to your room. Considering all that and the fact that we've stayed with them before, we booked a room. Upon arriving we were greeted by a staff who was wearing a mask, she checked us in and walked us to our room. She wished us a happy anniversary and told us she will be right back. Then she came back with a tray of flowers, a card and champagne. It was so cute and thoughtful of them to do this. It meant so much to my husband and I! The room is beautiful, tidy and clean and there is hand sanitizer right by the door! We love staying here and will continue to do so as we love visiting Leavenworth. read more

Worst hotel I've never been to. I would give 0 stars if I could. My husband and I were affected by the Yakima wild fires (do a quick Google search and you will find it). We were forced to evacuate and unable to make our reservation at this hotel. We called the hotel approximately 24 hours prior explaining our situation to the receptionist. She said she would speak to the manager and give us a call back. I waited by the phone for several hours before we were notified of a $400 charge to our account. We quickly called the hotel. I spoke to one of the managers (the wife) who was very rude. I explained to her that we could not predict this emergency and are asking for basic human decency to provide a refund, especially since we were never contacted back. She refused to listen to any sort of reason and eventually hung up the phone. I called back, furious, that she had hung up on me and requested for the refund again. She exclaimed that I "should have bought insurance" and made it sound like it was my fault that I had an emergency happen to me. I exclaimed multiple times that I would have canceled as soon as possible but I could not predict this emergency. She had no sympathy and remained silent. I demanded a response until she eventually handed the phone to her husband. He was very kind and asked for proof via email. I provided a news link to the wild fires which he responded to saying he would "get to it when he gets back to his desk". I requested a response within the hour but he did not respond. After about 1.5 hours I attempted to call the hotel but all my calls went directly to voicemail. I understand small business is difficult, especially post covid, but that shouldn't affect basic human decency for unforeseen emergencies. I will NEVER give this couple any business and I will ensure that none of our active duty Navy friends give them any patronage due to the disrespect and lack of human decency we were given. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! They are heartless and only care about taking your money. They do not care about active duty military or anyone for that matter. read more

Ahhhh.... the best night's sleep at any hotel/motel I have ever had! Must have been the simple features and quiet cozy Alps-like atmosphere that Leavenworth offers, even during the off season and don't forget the warm down comforters. Nothing fancy, you carry your own luggage, and they give you a "night" key to let yourself back into the hotel after 7PM. Walking distance to the usual tourist attractions of Leavenworth, we had a fine time enjoying the breakfast, included, the next day which consisted of a full European breakfast of German breads, cheeses, meats, fruit, yogurt, cereal and soft boiled eggs. And of course, locally roasted coffee!! I could learn to like this style of breakfast! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL rooms and outside decor. Traditional and authentic Bavarian design right down to the furniture! The Staff were AMAZING! And it comes with a full German breakfast! My wife and I stayed here for the night and after having shuffled through some not so great looking places in town, this was DEFINITELY the place to stay. The cost for what you get is quite reasonable too. Cleanliness is excellent, the shampoos, soaps, etc are all organic and smell amazing. Got a positive covid result and had to cancel my reservation with 4 days notice before Christmas. Ended up losing a little over two weeks of work. They called me on the night of my cancelled reservation saying they wanted to close and know when I was showing up. I reminded them I tested positive for covid and they seemed more I Dinner and Tesla rental were all refunded no problem but kinda bummed Hotel Pension kept $380 on a trip I couldn't enjoy in good conscious. Definitely won't be going to Leavenworth anytime soon and will definitely never come to this place. Maybe the hotel is nice but I'll never find out. read more

We spent a weekend there for our Anniversary. It was amazing. The place was built with authentic detail and with love you can tell. Most of the staff has been there 20 years, that says a lot of about this place. The room roomy, the bed soooo comfortable and very clean. You get for the king bed a duvet one per person. We really liked that a lot. When we checked in Lee (I think) personally walked us up to our room and told us about where the ice was, how to get coffee or tea late in the evening. Provided a map of town. The owners Erica and Martin made sure to say hello each morning we went down for the breakfast. Home made coffee cake each morning that was the best I ever had (sorry Grandma). Cheese, selection of cold cuts and variety of bread. Yogurt, oatmeal and cereal. We were greeted the 1st morning and were asked how we would like our egg. The coffee was brought to the table and served to you. We loved that fact that you can park your car and walk to town and back and in fact we also went down to the park and enjoyed that as well. We explored the town, enjoyed the many charming shops and were able to walk back. We did not move our car at all while we were there. I have referred another couple there already. read more

Mattress felt non supportive but I slept like a baby, and I never sleep in hotel rooms. Bathroom has radiant heat in the floor...awesome. The room did not have a view but we knew that going in. My now husband and I stayed at Pension Anna during Oktoberfest from October 18th-21st and eloped on the 20th. We loved this warm and genuine bed and breakfast so much that we will be coming back for anniversaries to come. The customer service was incredible and Windee, the gal at the front desk who also helps with breakfasts every morning is wonderful. The owner and Windee made our stay so memorable and were always there to answer our questions. Their kind and compassionate hearts were definitely refreshing... you don't receive service from people like them often anymore unfortunately. If you want an authentic Bavarian stay I would recommend Pension Anna to you. You won't regret it!!! read more

One of my recent weekend motorcycle trips led me to Leavonworth and I felt this place would be a nice spot to try. Building: There is definitely a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere and charm with this building. I've never really thought much about Leavenworth and its Bavarian character much, admittedly, due to it being a big tourist spot but at some point you begin to see and appreciate good things regardless of tourism. The design, large overhangs, woods and fabric use, etc - very neat and interesting. Room: I think the price for this room (Loisachtal) isn't quite justified being pretty much near the other room rates. It's the first room right at the entrance, on ground level, and the windows openly face the parking lot and street/sidewalk. You can't open the windows fully w/o worrying about privacy from onlookers; and all vehicle/foot traffic sound is heard fairly well. Perhaps they could consider applying a fog layer to the lower 3-5 feet of these windows, that may help privacy in the future and encourage customers to open the window curtains more. The bed was comfortable; I wish the TV was a bit more centered to the bed. An extra small stool by the crafted cabinet open space would be nice. The bathroom is solid but perhaps the main thing that drove me nuts was the hot water sink faucet. It has a special quirk with air pockets (the owner can explain it) but even when I find a 'quiet' spot, it manages to return within a few minutes (deep subtle cues gradually building up...). To me, odd old building quirks like this aren't quite my thing, especially if I (or anyone) gets/has a headache. The painted furniture & decor is neat. The TV channels listed did lack a few signals(?). Service: The owners/front desk were genuine friendly and warm people. Given the above, not bad! If I return/recommend, I'd say go for a room upstairs and away from the street. read more

The owners were wonderful and personable. We booked a classic room that had a mild Bavarian theme. The whole weekend was around $400 which included two nights and breakfast for both mornings. The breakfast was not your typical continental fare, more like a small selection of Bavarian meats and cheeses with delicious pretzel buns and coffee. I would definitely stay again on the off season as it is great for an anniversary getaway or quick weekend retreat. The only downside is the price especially during tourist season, which stems mostly from the amazing location, right next door to the brewery. read more

We've been to Leavenworth a few times previously but this is our first stay at Pension Anna. Tucked away just one street off the main street makes it easy to walk downtown to the cute little shops and restaurants. We received a very warm welcome upon our arrival and upon entering you feel as though you have traveled to Europe. Our room was very comfortable and the decor was well thought out and very relaxing. Breakfast was a delightful European style with an array of meats, cheeses, locally made breads and boiled eggs. The hosts, Gary and Michelle were a lot of fun to talk with and enjoyed Gary bringing out his alpenhorn, a real treat. Looking forward to another trip. read more

My husband and I revisited Hotel Pension Anna last weekend and am happy to report that we loved our stay! The staff is very welcoming, giving you a personal tour upon your first visit. The hotel is clean and quaint, and the owners thought of many amenities for their guests. The bed was comfortable and the area was quiet in the evening. Breakfast the next morning was great--it really hit the spot. Although it's continental style, the owners put a bavarian twist on it with fresh-made German rolls, meats, and cheeses. The owners themselves serve guests coffee, tea, and fresh-boiled eggs at breakfast. The woman sat down with my husband and I and talked for about 20 minutes about where they were from, why they bought the hotel, what it's like to run a small business in Leavenworth, etc. Great people. The only strangeness was our room. We stayed in the Pinzgau, which had the bathroom sink in the main bedroom area. I was told on our tour the the room was originally the breakfast room back when this was a small bed and breakfast, so I can see how it was a little awkward retrofitting it with a bathroom. Also, right before checkout, we heard water rushing loudly through some pipes in the walls intermittently. I deduced that the laundry room was immediately above us, but I think the hotel stewards take care to only run laundtry during mid-day. Besides that, the bedroom was quite nice with very ornate, old German furniture. My husband and I will definitely be returning next time we're staying overnight in Leavenworth! read more

This hotel is certainly one of the best in Leavenworth. The service was outstanding. When we arrived, our room was ready and the receptionist gave us helpful information about the hotel (time for breakfast, where to find ice etc) and told us to let her know if we needed anything at all. We stayed in the Pfaffenwinkl room which is located in a converted chapel. We had a private entrance to our room from outside the chapel. The steps had warming pads to keep the ice/snow cleared (no slipping). Our room had an old feeling to it, but everything was clean, and very Bavarian. The bed was very comfortable and I especially liked the separate down comforters (very warm but alternatives are available if you are allergic). The separate comforters may seem strange at first, but they really are very Bavarian. The TV was really small and the alarm clock was a bit outdated. The furniture was very solid and well made. Most of it was imported from Bavaria for the hotel. Some of the wardrobes in the main hotel are beautifully painted. The bathroom was small, but adequate. The toilets are very modern, the shower is a typical plastic tub. The sink is in the main room, but that didn't bother us as it was made to look like another piece of furniture. The shampoo's and soaps are l'occitane, and they smelled wonderful. The breakfast was a wonderful replication of a typical Bavarian B&B breakfast even down to the furnishings and table decor. The breakfast consisted of granola, corn flakes, an imported meat selection, a cheese selection, tropical fruit salad (with some really delicious papaya), yogurt, a moist coffeecake, toast and jam. The owners were serving up freshly brewed coffee and offering hard boiled eggs. One of the owners sat and talked with us for a bit about the furnishings in the hotel, how we were enjoying our stay etc. We felt very welcome. I would come back to this location and recommend it to others. This is not a typical "American" hotel. read more
