We had a very cozy stay at the Blue Elk this Oktoberfest weekend. Our third floor king room was pretty basic, with a comfy bed, desk, and a balcony. The bathroom is pretty small with only one sink. The hot breakfast was nice. We loved all the blue elk touches all over the lodge. We made several trips into town using the cut-through in the backyard. It's about a mile walk to the center of town. We also walked around Enchantment/Waterfront park which has trail entrances close to the back of the hotel. Our dog felt very welcomed. Next time I will probably request one of the ground floor rooms with an outside door which would be so convenient for taking the dog out. It was very quiet - we enjoyed sitting on the balcony taking in the view. Can't wait to be back!

I can't stress enough how dog friendly the Blue Elk Inn is compared with others. You will find plenty of dogs all around the grounds, so if you're not into taking your best friend on a trip with you, you might want to look elsewhere. In general Leavenworth itself is very dog friendly. Wherever we walked, including on Front Street, we saw many dog owners out with their pups. My GSD was in dog heaven! We even met another dog owner in town, whose kids were so sad, because they felt they couldn't take their dog on the trip with them. I recommended they consider the Blue Elk Inn for their next visit to Levenworth. They seemed ecstatic to learn of such a dog friendly hotel and one without dog weight limits, as their dog was large like our German Shepherd. I also showed them a pic of the dog friendly package left on our bed, which included a dog blanket (for your pet to lay on your bed), a paw cleaning towel and dog treats. The front desk also had a dog treat & poop bags display. I've never seen such a dog friendly hotel and where each and every available room was also dog friendly! We stayed in the Superior King with Patio, which includes a private entry and gas fire pit. This particular accommodation is extremely convenient for potty breaks, rather than those rooms inside the Inn or on the 2nd floor, especially for those late night potty breaks. Plus, since the patio is fenced in, it allows your pup an area to roam off leash. It's also nice for those that might have loud pups, when left alone, while you're out eating or enjoying the pool, jacuzzi or sauna. The patio rooms are close to your parked vehicle, so that's another plus, if that option is necessary. The wonderful breakfast, which is included, was also a very welcomed hit each morning. This is not a Continental Breakfast, it's a full on breakfast, which rotated daily. I've never stayed at a place that was so dog friendly and will definitely stay at the Blue Elk Inn again on our next visit to Leavenworth!

This is the beautiful blue lighting at the Blue Elk Hotel. Quite stunning.

We were very pleased with the quiet peaceful location. Clean rooms, wonderful hot breakfast served until 10am. The staff was very helpful and courteous, front desk lady told us where to park free for 3 hrs downtown (next to the City offices). The hotel is dog friendly even tho we didn't bring ours it was nice to see pets.

Exceeded my expectations completely! The whole ground / rooms seem newly remodeled. We got the two bedroom suite (was around $1100 for two nights) and it was large, spacious, and very clean. Such a cozy fireplace too! Pool / hot tub seemed sort of summer camp-ish but they were clean. We didn't use the saunas but they looked awesome. Breakfast was obviously homemade and delicious. Chorizo breakfast tacos one day, and fluffy biscuits and gravy the other. Staff was very accommodating. I love how blatantly dog friendly the place was too.

The lights at night are nice

This place is Amazing!! Such beautiful Inn and the staff was so thoughtful and caring. Dog friendly, beyond compare!! The fenced in courtyard, firepits, landscaping and pool are so well.maintained. The front desk provided blankets and totals for the dogs even to make them feel welcome. We'll be back and highly recommended.

Really lovely hotel, lots of parking, and within walking distance to downtown. My room was on the second floor - very comfortable and beautiful artwork on the walls. Bathroom was clean, and had dispensers for hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner instead of individual sets for each guest. Instead of key cards, you get an actual physical set of keys to your room - one to open your hotel room and another to open the front door after the staff locks it at 8:30pm. There are no staff around overnight, but there are instructions in the room if you need to get in touch with someone after hours. I enjoyed the hot breakfast they provided - very tasty and the staff was on top of refilling the food and keeping the area clean. Overall, this was a very serene and relaxing place to stay.

Me and my Golden Retrievers loved it here. The enclosed patio entrance was definitely a rare dog-friendly amenity. The hot tub was nice and bubbly. Make sure to book a time slot if you want to use one of the saunas. Breakfast was upper tier for continental style and had different options each day. If you're looking for a super dog friendly stay in an amazing village a stones throw away from epic skiing here you go.

A cute hotel just outside of the main drag. Parking is right in front, so we could easily see our van from our window...as well as a pretty mountain. Check-in was easy and casual...the place definitely has a small business feel. We walked through the park to downtown and to our end of the strip to the closest restaurants. It's a bit of a haul no matter your destination, but was better than getting back in the car. The room was nice, updated and very clean with the exception of dust buildup on the chairs. The mattress was a bit soft for me, but not too bad. It seemed the entire customer base wanted breakfast right when they started serving so it was a bit crowded. Breakfast was prepped to be hot and ready right on time...not the best hot breakfast I've had at a hotel, but certainly not bad. There is no staff on site overnight, so if you leave early you leave your key. Overall a great place to stay if you like quiet and don't want to be right in the busy zone.

Plus your automobiles can be parked within eyesight on the 2nd level. You can walk almost everywhere from here. Walking to the local Safeway might be a tad too much for most folks though, especially if you buy a lot of stuff. I drove to the Safeway for a bottle of liquor and soda chaser, for example. I will drive to a fresh fruit stand also. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast also. The very fluffy biscuits seemed home made and the sweets(cinnamon rolls and a walnut something muffin) also appeared to be done locally. I enjoyed my cinnamon roll. Coffee was excellent, not watery. The meat protein varied and was also surprisingly very decent, not to salty. The breakfast is better than at most Hilton properties, IMHO. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location is wonderful as you can walk to the Leavenworth village in just a few minutes. The room was comfortable, the bed plush and plenty of pillows to choose from. Although there was an adjoining door, thankfully noise was not an issue during our stay. We had the complimentary breakfast on our first morning here, which is a nice perk of staying here. I liked the omelet with onions and peppers. The food was OK overall. We got a margarita pizza from the pub restaurant which was good. It's nice to have a food option available right in the hotel. Went into the pool once - it's located outside. It was refreshing to cool off. The size of the pool is on the smaller side, and so once people come in and get noisy, naturally it isn't so relaxing. Would've stayed in longer, but oh well. The first night, my family member told me that our room was out of conditioner and she used the little bit remaining, and that we were also low on shampoo. I went to the front desk and requested more shampoo and conditioner. The desk attendant said you just had to push the container hard (there are dispensers opposed to individual travel-size bottles). I went back to the room and only got a few drops of conditioner to use. The following day, we asked a housekeeping team member to check our dispensers. She ALSO said you just had to push the dispenser hard. But when they came to our room later that day, we saw that the dispensers had been filled up because finally there was product in each and plenty to use. Not sure why it couldn't have been fixed in the first place, and it was assumed we weren't using them correctly. Once we checked out from the hotel, my family member remarked it was strange that the person at the front desk just promptly took our two room key cards and didn't say anything, like briefly asking how our stay was, or simply just a quick 'thank you' for staying here. Maybe it was just particularly busy.... but something like that can go a long way.

The entrance is locked, so I used the call button, and a staff member told me I could come in with a few questions. I walked the few steps straight to the front desk. It quickly became clear entry was for me alone perhaps I missed this part over the intercom, and my group was commanded to "get out" outside like we just trespassed and they obliged fast, legit they were scared. Now how a hotel wants to run its business is the hotel's call to make, and I don't dispute it. What I take issue with is the delivery and lack of respect. When I calmly mentioned this wasn't a great first impression with a light chuckle to make light of situation and tried to explain how it came off , the front desk employee, who identified himself as Michael, cut me off with "stop, stop" instead of a brief, courteous explanation. His reasoning was that this is a "guest exclusive" hotel, which is an odd thing to lead with toward someone who walked in specifically to ask about becoming a guest. I have no issue with a guests-only, adults-only policy. My issue is entirely with how a prospective, paying customer was treated at the door. For a property with this reputation and price point, I expected warmth and patience. What I got was curt and dismissive from the first moment. I'm 34 years old and I've never had a hotel interaction like this. This is only the second review about a hotel I've written in my life and the first negative one. I don't make a habit of complaining. I walked in genuinely hoping to book, wanting to become one of the five-star reviews I'd read. Instead I left having been talked over at the front desk. If you're weighing whether the glowing ratings tell the whole story, take that for what it's worth. To the Johnson family and Steinbock Resorts: five generations in Leavenworth, a hotel you designed and built with your own hands, a reputation people drive across the state for. That legacy deserves better representation at the door. One employee, in one minute, can undo years of what your family spent decades building. I hope this reaches you, and I hope you take it seriously.

The main attraction here, hopefully other than your spouse, is the refresh and relaxation area, which includes tons of different heated, cooled, nice smelling, and otherwise luxurious rooms where your job is to relax. They have an incredible, indoor outdoor pool, hot tubs, huge lounge chairs, and really just about anything that you could imagine to help you relax. Whether you want to sit in a hot Norwegian sauna or a cool room that smells like mint, or a steam room that smells of lavender, the world is your proverbial oyster! The big hack here is that you are able to check in in the early afternoon, enjoy the spa for most of the afternoon, have yourself a lovely evening, and then enjoy the spa until the early afternoon the next day. Well, it's only 24 hours, it feels like you're there for two days. The breakfast and dinner options are quite delightful as they have really up to the food game here over the past few years. There are some fun restaurants around town, but despite our persistent desire to find new places, we ended up just eating here the last time we were in town. Always smiled as we passed through. The amenities available during your stay, was great! There are many more things available/ additional areas to this place that I didn't access during my stay. The dinning area is very clean and large with many windows to view the back of the property as well as, the snow capped mountains. The rooms are quite big and bathrooms are huge. Both very clean! The beds and pillows were soooo comfortable. In the room, there are ACs and a door that leads to a small balcony with a patio table and chairs for the outer rooms. This area isn't a personal-ish space because there are no walls separating the other rooms and during our stay, we did not experience other patrons utilizing this access to enter nor exit therefore It wasn't an issue for us at all. The upper floors have access to the stairs going up or down to the parking stalls. I, personally, did not feel it was a security issue at all. No noise issue at all as well, very quiet and peaceful. I was able to checkout the family/game room and it is large with everything they say is available. There was nothing impersonal about this space even though It's a shared space. The 2 lounge areas make you feel like you are at home. We actually sat in the lounge area on the second floor to relax and figure out where we were going for dinner. I've seen families having lunch and others just doing their thing. The lounge areas were kept clean. Couches were comfortable too. We were in walking distance to the promenade and never felt unsafe. Instead they bring in unique, beautiful Bavarian hints of style that make you feel so cozy and right at home. The quant and classy atmosphere is what keeps bringing me back. This hotel also offers so many wonderful amenities! Definitely a great place for family's! When you first walk in you're greeted with a lovely sitting area and tea bar (pretty sure hit chocolate is available upon request too). It's all just so warm, cozy, and inviting. There's a gym, golf bay, basketball court, a whole room with TVs and ping pong tables where they show movies and make popcorn each night! The pools are fabulous! We visited during the winter and that just brought the atmosphere to a whole mother level. The indoor pool is nice and warm. Long enough to swim laps, but shallow enough to be comfortable for many swimming levels. The outdoor pool and hot tubs are just splendid. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip to go out and sit in the warm hot tub next to the fire and snow. Felt straight out of a hallmark movie! Don't be afraid to brave the cold for it, it's beyond worth it. Another one of my favorite parts about the Enzian in their morning breakfast Buffett! So many yummy options for all to choose from. And there's an omelette bar! I always enjoy going in time to see the horn player. And who wouldn't want to cross off breakfast with the most stunning Mountain View's from their bucket list. All in all, I just love the Enzian. I don't think there is a cozier spot I've ever been. Will definitely be back again.

The only thing she offered was $100 credit for a future stay, which she offered via email once my husband reached out.

It had a small microwave and a good sized small fridge. There was also a nice oscillating fan which ended up being very important. The room has AC but the air conditioning unit can't really keep up. You can't set the thermostat lower than 70 and the thermometer in the room showed 74-76 most of the time on a day in the mid 80s. Combined with the fan, it was enough to sleep comfortably. I'm unsure what would happen if the temperature rises to the 90s or 100s though. You have to climb stairs to the second floor. The stairs are inside. I'll post a picture of them. There's no elevator and no first floor guest rooms so it's something to know about if this matters to you. The parking lot is right across the pedestrian only street. I might stay there again. My only issue is that I like the room colder than it was, but I think the good fan was a smart touch and I'm glad I didn't have to go ask for one. Other people might be happy with that temperature so I added it to my review. Oh ya, dog friendly!

The stay came with free parking which was a bonus in Leavenworth because it's such a walkable area. The location of this LOGE couldn't be more convenient. We were able to walk to all the shops, restaurants, and many of the sights in town within minutes. Check in actually happened at the Iconoclast Cafe, where the staff apparently double as baristas and hotel reception. Nonetheless everyone was friendly and helpful despite having to take the time to complete some of the check in information since I didn't book direct and didn't receive the links in advance. Even so, I liked the hotel and room layout as my friend and I had two separate beds and there was even a hammock hanging above them, which was such a fun, unexpected feature. The space had an outdoorsy modern feel with thoughtful elements that made it feel unique and cozy (headlamp, cooler, rumpl blanket, etc.). Even though we didn't end up using the LOGE app or the complimentary bikes, we appreciated that those amenities were available and it's definitely something I would take advantage of on a longer stay and/or at another LOGE hotel. We also didn't check out the beergarden! I'd say one of the only downsides was that the building itself felt a little old though I guess the charm of the space and overall experience made up for it. All in all, a great stay for a short getaway and an event better introduction to the LOGE hotels. I'd happily stay again and look forward to checking out other locations!

They were very friendly and helpful during our email communication and the website was very intuitive. After an sudden winter snowstorm of 6", our vehicle was stuck leaving us lost, cold and unsure how to get to Scandanavian Escapes. After a a quick call to Linny, Mr. Vern gladly retrieved us from our car (which was stuck in the snow!). After hearing that we had not eaten supper, Mr. Vern was nice enough to provide us with both a taxi number and a lift into town. The online pictures don't do the "Birchwood Tree House" justice, but it was our favorite room in the house. Although a smaller room, the decor was beautiful and cozy and we loved the bird theme. The private deck was a nice touch and the morning coffee + breakfast in bed truly made the tree house unforgettable- we can't recommend this room enough. Their hospitality was outstanding- we had such an incredible time at the Scandanavian Escapes that we're already planning our next stay at the Birchwood Tree House. Many thanks to Linny and Vern (and Ruby) for a very memorable weekend.
