I was a little disappointed with Leavenworth in general but it wasn't the Obertal's fault. It was a very pleasant place to stay right in the center of town. The included parking was great but the spaces are tight so just be ready for that. We were given a room on the third floor so be ready for that. We came on an unseasonably hot day and they have no pool or anything like that so be ready for that. One thing i wasn't ready for was their breakfast. It was great. The remake your waffles and then you put them back in the maker to warm them up and they crunchify making them even better. I would stay here again. We had to cancel our stay after wildfire smoke created unhealthy air quality in Leavenworth and our pediatrician advised us not to bring our 13-month-old and 4-year-old children. We contacted Orbital Inn before our trip and simply asked to reschedule for another weekend, but were told no. We understand policies, but expected some basic compassion given the circumstances. What was most disappointing was the way we were treated by the General Manager. Rather than showing empathy or trying to find a reasonable solution, we were repeatedly blamed for not buying trip protection, asked to apologize for not doing so, and talked over when we tried to end the conversation. Unfortunately, based on the lack of flexibility and customer service, we will not return to Orbital Inn and would strongly encourage others to consider staying elsewhere in Leavenworth. UPDATE: the host's comment below is a total lie. Not once did Linda offer to reimburse or credit half of the stay. She was on speaker phone and multiple people heard our conversation so I have witnesses to prove it. The only thing she offered was $100 credit for a future stay, which she offered via email once my husband reached out. read more

This was a great hotel. We enjoyed our time there. We went during October Fest. Our room over looked the street it's on. There's parking at the hotel, wasn't charged extra for parking. Our room had a fireplace (paid extra for that) and a king size bed. Our stay included breakfast, there was a variety of things to choose from. The staff were very friendly. The toilet and shower are separated by a door. We went back to the room around 930pm and when I tried to shower, the water ran super cold. We tried the water in the sink too and the water was cold too. I believe they ran out of hot water because at 5am then water was hot. I did try calling the front, but they were gone for the day. Parking: Available on site. Very narrow. Backing up will be tricky if the lot is full. Limited. Don't move your car unless you have to. The day you check out, you will need to move your car by noon. We stayed at the Gasthaus and it was freaking incredible. Simple, elegant, enormous, and almost flawless. Saw bears and I'm not afraid of a lot of things but bears are among them. The area does have an actual bear population and maybe you and the fam should stay inside at night. They're not up on Tumwater mountain, they're in Enchantment Park. The bears are not Obertal's fault and the place is worth your time and money. I'd live here long term if I could afford it. read more

I cancelled a few days later then 2 weeks because my boyfriend broke up with me. They refused to give me a refund. The manager said she would only give me a credit. She gave me a really hard time and I had to hang up on her because it was stressing me out. She said I wouldn't bend and I should have cancelled on the correct date. For unforeseen circumstances, they didn't even care. They cared only about themselves. I would understand if I cancelled a few days before however it was enought time to rent it out. I own a business and people who cancel with difficult circumstances I understand and honor that. I have stayed in Leavenworth before at Leavenworth Village Inn and they had honored my cancellation. We had a wonderful stay. From the first call, we were treated so nicely. We stayed two nights at their off site property in the Yukon room. It is just a short drive but gets you away from the crowds. Has a cute view right on the river. Had everything we needed to be comfy including a nice cozy king size bed, a mini fridge, microwave, and on site parking, just to name a few. Inside the room we had our own fireplace and a cute little nook with a few books and dvds. It is a little dated with some of the fixtures (the bathroom ... only has a stand up shower) but has a rustic feel to it with cute little decor that was thoughtfully chosen. You have the option of having add ons added to your stay. We ordered the Apple strudel for two and it was waiting for us upon our arrival.z Overall, I am so happy with our selection of this stay and will definitely come back. Great location in the heart of Leavenworth. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. We preordered our Apple Strudel and it was waiting for us in our room. The daily breakfasts were delicious. Complimentary for the first two guests in the room. We had our granddaughters with us and bought the Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream every morning. They have a comp breakfast for kids if they like cereal or instant oatmeal. You order the breakfast before 8:00 pm the night before. There are four choices and we tried all of them. Delicious!!! The coffee from the ToGo breakfast is much better than the room coffee. You can pick up your breakfast from 8-10:00 am. The bathroom is small but clean. Our suggestion for improvement is to place coat/robe hooks behind the front door and by the bathroom. We came to the Ice Fest and we each had two coats. The minimal hangers and hanging space made it hard to get our coats dry. Coat hanging hooks on the wall would really help. read more

For starters, it's hard to beat the location of this charming Bavarian themed hotel in the heart of downtown Leavenworth. You're an easy two block walk from the majority of the shops and restaurants in Leavenworth. From the woodwork on the porches today the painted floral decor, this simple and straightforward hotel won me over with its charm. During our stay, we were located in one of the street level guest houses a few doors down from the main hotel. They were admittedly on the older side decor-wise but clean. Our favorite part of the stay, by far, was the German themed, made-from-scratch breakfast that is included with your stay. During COVID, they had outdoor tables set up and window to walk up and receive your meal. Perfect for avoiding going inside. I recall delicious waffles, apples, and homemade jams. My BFF and I rented the Wunderbar Condo (#5A). I selected the Wunderbar because it has separate bedrooms each with an en suite bathroom. The large condo has a great kitchen, living room and balcony overlooking the Wenatchee River. The condo is in a building down the street from the hotel. A designated off street parking spot is included. One bedroom has a sitting area large enough that it could be setup with bunkbeds to accommodate a family (a suggestion). The location was perfect, just steps from shopping and restaurants. We were on the 5th floor, but only had to walk down to the 4th floor where the exit is to the main shopping street. We had an excellent stay at Obertal Inn this weekend. The communication was excellent. They kept in touch after booking, day prior, day of, and at check out. Very responsive to questions and friendly staff. The Apple strudel was an excellent addition at my arrival after a long travel! We booked the king bed with fireplace and jacuzzi! The room met our expectations and the central location could not be beat! They have pretty good sound proofing and we slept pretty well without noise interruptions. I stayed here on my first trip to Leavenworth and I made a good decision I think. The inn is located just behind the main area of town, so walking to and from is super easy. I had a second floor room and it was clean and nicely appointed. My only complaint really was there was a noise all night that sounded like the fan from the bathroom of another unit that was distracting. Parking is limited, but available. Office hours start at 8AM, as does the included breakfast to go. The breakfast is really small, but the biscuits and gravy were wonderful. Staying here has been our best experience in Leavenworth! We stayed in the Dogwood room which had 2 queen beds and a kitchenette (minus a cooktop of sorts). The staff was more than accommodating and so very kind. They ensured we were comfortable and able to find our room with ease. It was the perfect location that fit our needs with a toddler. Walking into downtown Leavenworth took MAYBE 4 minutes. If you want breakfast, don't do what we did and wait until the morning of! It's call ahead and a pick up and go breakfast (the options are not like the basic COVID options. Very nice breakfast options). If you are planning on coming to Leavenworth for any reason... We wanted a spot that would allow us to come and go throughout our weekend stay in Leavenworth. The Obertal's location was perfect for that. Especially on the hot summer weekend we were in town... we could return to our room to cook off, drop off items we purchased, etc. Our room was clean. Staff was friendly. Wifi was weak, which limited our ability to watch a movie or TV. Breakfast was good. My husband and I stayed 3 nights. They put your room number on a parking pass to post in your car. Not the safest feel since everyone could see it. No room cleaning. Loved staying at Obertal Inn! Check-in was awesome, Kim at the front desk was a great first impression, I knew my stay would be nice right away. Our room was very clean, thank you to the hardworking housekeeping staff. Room was spacious and quiet and well maintained. Wanted to give a shout out to the night front desk agent, he was very helpful in recommending a great restaurant. We were a little tired of German food and he suggested ' Wok About Mongolian Grill', I was not expecting it to be so nice, great outdoor seating, staff and food. Ok, back to Obertal Inn's review. They have a great breakfast and they ask for advance order to insure they have the selection. I forgot to order (sorry) but went down to breakfast area in lobby to see what they may still have to eat. We stayed for one night, overall we were happy with our experience. The big pro is the location, it's just steps away from the downtown area. The sleeping area was spacious in the two bed room and it has a fridge and a microwave which came up handy. They also had breakfast available for an extra 8$ which wasn't bad. They make a lot of the items in house. The parking is included and there is a hot tub available too! And the WiFi just works. There were a few cons, our room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. Not an issue for us, but for some it may be. The bathroom is supper small and the light and fan are connected with a timer switch so it's always noisy and might wake others up at night. Did I mention it's super small? Also you can easily hear other guests talking outside at the balcony, but it got quiet after 11pm or I just crashed. They do offer complementary ear plugs, I guess this has been a common complaint. If you do use the coffee maker do inspect it, there was a hair stuck in the water reservoir around the pipe. I can't blame maintenance for that I don't expect them to clean inside the coffee maker so no points deducted. read more

We spent two nights in the Bavarian Haus as a "home base" for our thru-hike in the Enchantments. The Bavarian Haus is just a couple blocks down the street from the main inn. It's a small house of four two-bedroom units, all on one level with parking in the back. First things first, the space was much bigger than I expected! It was perfect. One bedroom, two queen beds with the second bed in the main room back by the bathroom, and a living room area with a microwave, coffee machine (idk if it has a real name, I don't drink coffee), sink, and then couch, chair, TV, and small table. Basically this place was bigger than my apartment. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were nothing super special but that's a common complaint of mine because I am very particular about my neck support. Shower had full size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. This spot had everything we need. Location was also perfect. Since it's about two blocks away from the main drag, we found street parking just fine and didn't hear any crowds/people late at night. I also walked straight down on Division to a beach spot on the river. Super easy access to great spots and still close enough to walk around Leavenworth in its entirety. Check in and check out was super quick at the main office. They usually have breakfast, which is an additional $8/person/day for the Bavarian Haus and is located back at the main lodge. For COVID times, they had takeaway breakfast for a couple hours (ending at 10am) each morning. We did not partake since we were already hiking at that hour, but glad there was that option. Would love to stay here again if I find myself back in Leavenworth. Maybe with more people since there was more space than the two of us needed! read more

It's been a few years since I've been to Leavenworth (hurt my back, laid up for a few years) and then the COVID year ended my plans for a trip in Spring 2020, so . . . . . . . . . I started checking for rooms in early April for a mid-May visit. Hmmmm Prices for rooms are up a bit, my normal suspects for lodging are over 100.00 now . . . so, I raised my limit and ended up on the Obertal page. They have a motel complex a block off of the downtown, AND a separate building of suites on the river; the suites are listed as the All Seasons (hmmm well, last year's trip money never got spent) . . . Upgrade! (Note: this review is not specifically for the downtown Obertal site but for their set of suites about 1.5 miles from town center! I had an idea where the All Seasons was but Google mapped it to be sure.) So, the All Seasons annex of the Obertal has (I believe) 10 or so suites, all named after national rivers (Columbia, Rio Grande, Tennessee, Kennebec, etc.) each with a regional theme to them. I took the Kennebec Suite for a long weekend. The Kennebec is a New England coastal theme which suited me nicely. The front room is large, there is a large side room with a recliner, two-person nautical-style breakfast nook table and the standard Keurig and Microwave (in cabinet under the counter). The bathroom is large with a massive double shower. There is a small balcony with two padded lawn chairs. Now, previously I said this site was on the river . . . and I do mean on and above the Wenatchee River . . . lovely! I didn't need my white noise machine for sleeping this trip; I simple opened the window and let the sounds of the river lull me to sleep! The location away from city center was actually a blessing for me, as my back and now my hip are still an issue . . . so, when I needed a break after a walk around the shops or at Waterfront Park, I went back to the room and laid out on the bed for a bit and listened to the lovely river. The bed was the most comfortable one I've ever had in a motel/hotel . . . which is important for someone who has to lay out throughout the day to rest the back and hip. Note: no housekeeping here during your stay, you do not have access to their continental breakfast. Will I come back here again? Yes, I think so . . . I am giving the place a 4.5, so rounding up to a 5 . . . here are the Pros and Cons for that rating: Pros: Because of my bad back, I asked for an earlier check in time, was in the room just after 2pm . . . . . . Friendly staff, Pay for everything at the Obertal main site downtown, which means I could park there for my walking/shopping . . . . . . The room has a wonderful atmosphere and is VERY comfortable. The river is right outside and down a bit, there is a private balcony and a few spots below have mini-patios and lawn chairs for all . . . . . . There is a selection of DVD's on site if you want the check them out (I did) . . . . . . the mini-fridge actually has a usable-size freezer. Cons: Before reserving, I asked if the suite was on the main level and was told it was. Nope, upstairs. Loading and unloading was a pain for me . . . . . . The A/C is central, not controlled in the room; I was a touch warm, but I like a room about 67-68d, so, prolly me-centric (had the window open in mornings and evenings/overnight anyway and the breeze and the ceiling fan was fine at 75-86d outside . . . . . .The TV is, well, lets say Quirky. Never could hook up to the cable channels, but as I am a Netflix guy, I watched that and DVD's. Admittedly, a few of the Cons may be me-specific. read more

Love this place -We have stayed here 3x (yearly trip during the winter since 2016) we always stay for 3 days 2nights (book the jacuzzi suite !). It has a fabulous hot breakfast (included w stay) and the rooms are cozy . Is this the Westin - no- However, the beds are sooo comfy and it has a great location - Icicle Brewery is literally down the alley (Dark Persuasion German Chocolate Ale - yum). I really wish I could give 0 stars. They said they would call when we could check in. At 5 pm we still hadn't heard from them. I called and they said the room was finally ready. They gave us a map to drive to where our room was.... We got lost, as there were no signs outside of the rooms that said they were the hotel- nor did we get an address. We called to get more information on how to get there- they gave no additional help except that "the door was red".... Once we got to the room- it smelt, the ac unit was hanging apart - not that we needed it- but we were able to see the filter and it was thick with dirt and dust. Lumpy bed, odd noises that sounded like someone was peeing, and the room was hot and stagnant air. We couldn't sleep so went to turn in our keys and leave early and talk to them about our struggles - but it was closed!!! Dropped the keys off and will definitely not be back... read more

We have been talking about going to Leavenworth to see the Christmas lights and the famous pork hock for the last 2 years. We finally got this checked off the list his year, we got the last available room at Obertal Inn right before Thanksgiving. A little early but we were told that the lights are in display already. We booked the suite about 2 blocks from the main property - the Dogwood suite that is. It's a very nice suite within easy walking distance to the downtown area. We are very happy that the Inn Keeper recommended the Apple Strudel, which was freshly made for pre-order to have it waiting in out room. It's delicious and we finished the whole pie even though it was meant for 8~10 people. :) We enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back next time. read more

We were not in their nice big hotel but a little shack of a very old house (converted to 4 small units) a block away. It was close to the shops and restaurants and they did give you a free breakfast to take back to your room (we ate ours in our vehicle----room too crappy). The worse thing was the tiny wall heater did not get the room warm, snowing outside and us in a very cold room all night. Slept in my thermals!! read more

Great place to stay, fair pricing and great accommodations. If you do stay here try to book 4C. There are two balconies that look out to blackbird island and by being on the 4th level you can exit straight out to Front St. The beds are big and comfortable. The kitchen is open and they provide all plates, glasses and utensils. There are 2.5 baths the shower was big but water pressure was weak. You get one free parking spot so if there are multiple vehicles you can get a spot right outside their parking area which is also free but you'll have to wait until late afternoon because usually people that work in town park here. Stayed two nights with two dogs and found it to be relaxed and just the ticket. The only issue was the noise level. We stayed on the ground floor and the room above us was very loud at night. Has some nice features, great location, pretty with the lights, pet friendly, great staff, very tasty breakfast. That said.... The Bathroom...I'd guess 80% of the time we personally were doing maintenance on it. Tank would not flush, plunging 2 out of 3 times. The bathroom door?? I'd call it a "door" I suppose, but dampens sound about as well as a bedsheet would if one hung there, and the bedsheet would hide more. No lie there is about a 2" gap between the door and the bathroom door frame, so pray you do not need to use it while others sleep then pray you don't need to do maintenance on top of that just to flush. Personally I'd stay elsewhere. That one area which sadly is used often by everyone was a massive spotlight that ruined enjoyment. read more
