Stayed for 2 nights. Had the ocean suite. It was clean. A little on the older side. It was quiet and safe. Didn't see a single staff member the whole time I was there. Would consider staying again in the future

Beautiful-small but very private suite!! Loved out stay there!! Clean, quiet but close to everything you need!!

I loved this little peaceful sanctuary. It was quiet, beautiful, clean & I would highly recommend this location. There were plenty of restaurants near by.

Great location and with only limited rooms, GREAT LOCATION. Staff was welcoming and the rooms were clean and property well kept. Will defiantly return to this location SOON!

A little hidden respite off the main highway. Beautiful trees and a simple yet pretty outdoor setup of lounging and picnic areas. The resort signage is small and hard to see (as suggested by other reviewers) in part due to the font used but it IS there. While it is pricey and may not be worth it for some, remember you're mainly paying for location (like most places in the keys) and the tranquility that this place has in spades is unlike many other places. It is obvious the place has tried to do some sprucing up and remodeling in recent years and while it could have more dwelling amenities like a TV in the bedroom, this place feels like and is more a retreat vs a full service big hotel operation. So it kind of comes down to what you're wanting and knowing what this is vs is not. There is a small amount of mildew staining in the showers but it appears this is due to the typing of plaster they used on the tiling vs it not being cleaned regularly as the rest of the place was very tidy. Overall, it is a lovely, tranquil little place with nice people and a helpful, friendly front desk who is clear about their hours, availability and after hours contact. They have a nice reciprocal relationship with the next door Amoray resort which gives you access to their pool and decent food truck operation.

Stayed about 4 nights at Azul. Upon arrival we noticed the place was a bit older which is normal for the Keys. It does have nice shabby feel to it. Loved the area backing to the water and the dock. The room really looked better in the pictures. It was very humid and musty. We had an issue with our shower not having high water pressure upon arrival and by day 3 of stay it was worse with only one drizzle coming out. That ended up needing to be more repair and we were offered showers in Amoray Dive that were accessed outside. Those bathroom had not been cleaned well and were a major turn off. One shower was difficult to turn on and the other had pee all over the toilet. Overall the experience was okay we ended up leaving early due to the shower issue. The view was nice. The staff Kim and Natalie were very attentive and Maria was a great house keeper. We will end up staying somewhere else when coming to the Keys again.

My husband and I spend the 4th of July week at azul del mar. I loved the scenery. The quiet. That it only has 6 suites(less people). We watched the fireworks from the dock. The room, aquamarina, was great! We utilized the pool next door, which unfortunately was warm. REALLY warm, but i like the ability to use it. Its in a great location. The only thing I would suggest to the owners is maybe a better way to spot the driveway. At night it's easier bc of the little blue lights at the opening of the driveway. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, private getaway in key largo.

    View from beach, awesome.

Seriously, no kids allowed? Awesome. Welcome home, yes please!! This place is a gem. Beautiful apartment overlooking a pristine beach with Adirondack chairs, fresh flowers and crystal waters. There is a decided European flair to the atmosphere and furnishings, you could swear you are in Spain until you pull out onto route 1. Close to John Pennekamp state park which is a MUST for one day. Sundowners was great for the sunset. Skip Big Chill unless you like fraternity style beach parties. If I return to the keys I would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone (traveling without kids, that is...)!

Mini Kitchen with mini appliances (mini dishwasher, mini fridge, mini microwave). I love this place!

First, I have to say that we BID on Priceline and acquired this "ADULT ONLY" resort. The only problem is we were coming with our non-adult offspring. FYI, when bidding on a hotel, picking an adult only or a family friendly hotel, is never an option. I called the resort after reading this information on the hotel's website. After explaining how I bid and acquired this hotel on Priceline, Dominic gave us the "go signal" to come. Dominic and Carol were hospitable. We did try to keep our minor out of site from other guests to respect the resort's adult only policy. It was not hard to do as the resort did not have a pool and the small property beach was not ideal for swimming. Instead, we made the Atlantic Ocean our playground. On our short weekend here, we were able to do a snorkeling trip at John Pennekamp State Park. It is easily one of the best snorkeling trip we've had in a day (We've snorkeled many places). We also went fishing with Sailor's Choice and had a fantastic family fishing day. Check out at Azul is 11. Our fishing trip was over 1:30. We went back to the resort to use their outdoor shower. Dominic, the owner, gave us the boathouse to shower. Because of this, we didn't have to drive over 4 hours home in fish stench!!! Azul Del Mar is a small, all-suite cozy property. Please see pictures posted. Given the chance to come here with my significant other, I would come back again and again!!! This location is superb. We saw the most beautiful sunset off this property upon arrival. Pennekamp and fishing charters are within 3-5 miles away. Dominic and Carol have the utmost understanding and execution on what costumer service really is.

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

And don't forget the tax man as he is expensive as well. Total rip off for what you get. We have stayed at Hiltons in 16 countries including the Grand Wailea Maui and have never seen these types of numbers. 10+ years as a Diamond with Hilton and this is a shameful experience. It would be different if the rooms made up for it but they are no better than a redone drive up motel as it is noisy all night long with halls open to the parking lot.

My friends and I had an amazing weekend here lounging by the pool, paddling with the kayaks and paddleboards they offer, and eating at all the amazing restaurants they have within walking distance. I was a little skeptical at first when I realized they didn't have a bar and didn't offer breakfast, but it ended up being a blessing cause we brought what we liked to drink and ate all the amazing local food without having to get in the car. The room was HUGE and we loved that it had two bathrooms, everything was so luxurious and the showers were amazing. The beds were super comfortable (my other friend slept on the Murphy bed and said it was great). The pool was big enough that we were able to have privacy if we wanted or socialize with the other guests if we wanted. Everyone was nice and we had a great time talking to the other guests. Our daughter was recently married here and we did a full three-night resort buyout. While the property itself is absolutely stunning the nine months leading up to the wedding were incredibly frustrating. Communication was consistently poor--weeks would go by without any response. We were promised a Florida Resident Discount by two different general managers, but it was never honored. (This is a significant discount that we did not get as promised). In total, we went through four general managers, each making new promises that never materialized. Even weeks before the wedding, when we were trying to make final payment, we couldn't get a response. When I finally raised concerns with the newest manager, her response was, "I have like six brides all contacting me at once." With all due respect, that's not how you handle a time-sensitive, stressful situation for a bride and her family. To add to the confusion, their website still showed units available just days before our event--even though we had rented out the entire resort. The units themselves are not equipped as expected either--we had to go out and purchase basic items like dish towels, a dish scrubber, pot holders, and more. Their new lanai roof leaks and ruined a couple of the custom built items we thought were safely stored since it's a brand new structure. We unpacked the U-Haul when we got home and had cockroaches in a few of the things stored in the main house.

Outdoor beach beds with curtains and lounge beds with visors you can pull down. The bungalow itself has an indoor shower and also an outdoor soaking tub and shower. You get your own bikes to ride around the property. The air conditioning was very good. The sheets were lovely. Everything was clean and in good working order. It also felt very private. We loved the breakfast buffet. The fruit and pastries were our favorites. We also loved Bogey and Bacall's. We didn't love Sea Senor's as much, although it was really fun and beautiful eating right by the beach. The food was just a bit bland. Another thing that I didn't fully realize until we got there was that there isn't a traditional beach. There is sand but it is lined by a rocky coast. You can swim in the ocean and you access it by stairs. So that is something to keep in mind. The pools were lovely and clean. But they could be bigger and maybe have like a water feature or something to improve the ambiance. The pools all close at sunset. Which also was a bit of a bummer and we weren't sure why. But we enjoyed swimming in them. We also didn't realize that seating around the pool is limited and if we wanted to have chairs by the pool, we'd have to get there early and save seats. The spa was incredible. We got a couples massage and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Definitely recommend going there and treating yourself. Overall our experience was wonderful and romantic and relaxing.
