We toured the venue, the coordinator was very nice, and she provided several photographer options. After that, we started making our monthly payments nearly two years before the event. Unfortunately, after that initial meeting, communication was almost nonexistent. No one reached out to guide us through the planning process. During the last three months before the event, I became increasingly concerned and called several times. Each time, I was told that the DJ, limo company, decorator, MC, and other vendors would contact me before the event. One week before the quinceañera, I still hadn't heard from anyone. I ended up going to the venue in person, where they gave me the vendors' phone numbers, and I had to contact everyone myself. I thought part of the benefit of booking through the venue was having assistance from a planner or manager coordinating these details. The venue itself was absolutely stunning. We had 160 guests, and they managed to accommodate everyone comfortably. However, I was repeatedly told that 160 guests was too many, even though the venue advertises a higher capacity. As a Mexican family, 160 guests was already a very limited guest list for us. The biggest issue occurred when the power went out for approximately one hour during the reception. Thankfully it happened after the ceremony, but it was still very stressful. The venue did not have an emergency generator, so we were essentially sitting in the dark waiting for power to return. They offered to extend the event by one hour, but I did not feel that fully compensated for losing an hour of such an important celebration. Since our event was in January, I can only imagine how difficult this could be during Florida's rainy season. Cell phone service was also very poor at the venue, and the Wi-Fi was not working. Our MC, Lidia, was wonderful. She was kind, organized, helped with the program, and delivered a beautiful ceremony. The limo was beautiful as well. However, we learned that my 3-year-old daughter could not ride because the limo company did not allow car seats. While I understand the policy, it was disappointing because we had planned for our immediate family to ride together, and she had to travel separately with my sister. Our DJ, Jose, was not very pleasant to work with. He often seemed annoyed when we requested songs. The most disappointing moment was during the father-daughter dance. We had specifically requested the "My Boy" girl version, but he played the wrong version. It was such an important moment, and I was very upset. The decorations were beautiful, but communication was again an issue. The decorator responded to my initial message but did not respond to any of my follow-up questions. For photography, we selected Varaderos. Similar to the other vendors, they did not proactively contact us. Six months after the event, I am still waiting for my video. I was told that my album is ready, but the video is still not completed. Our bartender was amazing! We did have to take our own tequila because they don't provide, so we did offer shots. Despite these issues, we made the best of everything, and my daughter's quinceañera turned out to be a beautiful and memorable night. The venue is gorgeous, and several vendors did a wonderful job. However, communication, coordination, and contingency planning need significant improvement.

There is a lot to do here including baseball, basketball, swimming, and soccer etc. Pulling in we actually had the chance to see some beautiful horses. They were huge and looked a little intimidating. Horse riding is also an activity you can learn or join here. There are so many options for activities! Came here for The Lowlife 27 year picnic car show. This has been a car club I've seen for numerous years throughout Miami and mainly Homestead. You can tell thousands of dollars have been spent on these cars. From paint jobs, rims, interior, hydraulic systems, sound systems, and so much more. They really go all out and take their cars seriously! We walked around enjoying all the different cars and even watched the hydralic competition. That was interesting as I was nervous seeing then hop so high, but all was under control. We bumped into my little brother and his race car driving friend who brought out his car. He revved his engine and had everyone approaching his car..meanwhile, I had no hearing for about 5 mins, lol. There was 3 food trucks and non alcoholic drinks available for purchase. If you wanted alcohol you had to bring your own, wasn't a problem for my crowd, ha ha ha. I devoured a turkey leg with my BF and we were set. We stayed for hours just continuously walking up and down the lot checking out all the cars. It was a great day for all of us and can't wait for the same event next year

So today was a nice treat to walk around in a family friendly fair-style area and then gett to watch the rodeo. The vendors are all set up areound the actual rodeo area. The actual rodeo started at 2 with a super patriotic flag ceremony and beautiful singing of America the Beautiful and then our National Anthem. Loved that!! The events started with the bucs which was outrageous and then went on to other events. Truth be told, I could not watch the roping of the cattle. It was not my cup of tea. But, I really did love all the horse riding events! It was super cool to see all the expert competitors.

The venue reminded me of those intimate and welcoming venues we had back in the days. It is centrally located in downtown Homestead. You can't miss it. Its architecture will captivate you. If you have yet to walk inside, I recommend you do it. If is one of those places that hold history and should be experienced.

On March 1940, the theater burned down after a fire started on the stage causing a complete loss of the building. The replacement theater was an Art Deco building designed by noted national theater architect Roy A. Benjamin. It is noted as being the only Art Deco building in downtown Homestead. After operating for almost 40 years the Seminole closed its doors in 1979 due to financial trouble. More trouble was in store for this theater when Hurricane Andrew in 1992 ripped off the roof and nearly destroyed the theater again. In 1993, unable to make the repairs, the owners donated the dilapidated structure to the city. Historic preservationists began working on it to bring it back. In May of 2014 Homestead voters passed a bond referendum to give 5 million dollars to renovate the theater and turn it into a cultural arts center. Another $550,000 was awarded by two state grants. With the infusion of funds, a restored Seminole Theater was able to open on December 12, 2015 for a Grand Opening Gala, "A Night on Broadway." I love when a historic building is saved and repurposed for the arts. Especially when it is as gorgeous as this one. As I went by people were lining up for an evening performance. It is wonderful that dedicated preservationists were able to save this theater for people to enjoy today.

The price was right for a mid-February vacation, one night only here. When we first arrived, we walked all around the building to find the entrance. We couldn't find it, turned around and came back and a nice young man came out of the restaurant door and asked us if we were looking for the hotel. I bet that happens a lot as there is no sign on the door next to the restaurant stating it's the hotel. Once inside, a friendly woman guided us to our first floor room at the back of the building and asked us if it was to our satisfaction. It looked clean so we said yes. The room had standard hotel amenities, including a hair dryer, but also a dehumidifier. The room smelled a little musty, so that's why the dehumidifier is in there. I didn't notice the smell, and my boyfriend only noticed it after we'd been in the room for a while. He said if he'd noticed it right off the bat, we probably would have left. The young man and lady in charge were super nice and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. When we asked about parking, if we could go out to dinner elsewhere and come back and find a spot in the lot, they were a bit iffy. They said the lot can fill up at night so we might not get a spot, but we could park across the street, wait until people left and then move our car back into the lot. But then one of them said if all that fails, we could use a spot nearest the building that really isn't a spot at all, but we could wedge our car into that. Luckily when we came back from dinner, there were at least 3 or 4 spots open. I had used the bathroom before we left for dinner and when we came back we noticed that the toilet was running. There wasn't a Kleenex box in the bathroom. Not a huge deal, just use toilet paper instead. When it came time for sleeping, I had a feeling the blinds on the window weren't going to keep the sun out and I was right. Bring a sleeping mask if you like darkness. Also bring earplugs FOR SURE! The first floor room shares a wall with the kitchen and at the end of the evening when the kitchen workers are cleaning up, you can hear pots and pans banging around, the workers shouting to one another, loud talking, loud laughing, etc. All that noise stops around 11, 11:30 p.m. The air conditioner was loud so we turned it off. There was street noise as well. We chose this place based on location and price; it seemed like a good deal and an interesting stay in a quirky hotel, which sometimes can offset lower quality accommodations if you find the place fun or interesting. So while I recommend this place as not too bad (we've definitely stayed in much worse places) I would advise not staying for more than one night.

We found our room key in the lockbox and headed up the stairs where the rooms were. Upon entering, it smelled of cigarettes. The room is more spacious than I expected. There's a mini fridge, microwave, 2 TVs, coffee pot, ironing board, hangers and a couch. There's also an outdoor seating area, albeit shared with all of your neighbors. It's cleaner than I expected, but we still found a hair in the bed. The bathroom provides a hair dryer, shampoo and soap. However, the towels are very thin and tiny. My bath towel was sopping wet before I could fully dry my hair. There's a door between us and another room that we can hear their conversations very clearly. Also, the restaurant downstairs has live music until 11pm. The wifi doesn't work. Staying one night is OK, but I couldn't do it for longer than that.
