I enjoyed the food and drink options thoroughly! I also got a massage at the spa, which was awesome. Very relaxing and professional. Be careful, it's very easy to get lost!

My girlfriend was sexually assaulted by a staff member at Secrets Tulum during a spa treatment, and…read morewhat the hotel did afterward was almost as disturbing as the assault itself. They blocked the police I called from entering the property. There is now an open criminal case with the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor's Office -- file FGE/QR/TUL/DEL/4225/2026, assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor for Sexual Crimes, Tulum. That's an official case reference anyone can verify. Do not give this resort your money. The moment my girlfriend told me what the male spa staff member had done to her, I got her out of the spa and went straight to management. The manager's response: "I know him, he would never do that, I've known him for 3 years." I called 911 myself. Police arrived -- and hotel staff refused to let them through the gate. I spoke to officers through a fence while management told me police were "on the way." When I asked for the staff member's name and the manager's own name: "for privacy reasons we cannot tell you." I have that refusal on video. A front desk employee covered her name tag with her hand. Three men then came to our room who said yes when I asked if they were police -- then claimed to be "from the prosecutor's office" -- covering their badges and refusing to give names or ID numbers for two hours, while my girlfriend, the victim, was too frightened to leave the room. She never got to speak with the real officers, because this hotel turned them away. Imagine how you would feel, knowing the actual police couldn't help, we couldnt just leave because the hotel controlled the gate, and they had security waiting and following us as soon as we left our room. It was terrifying. We don't speak Spanish and were given no translation or victim support of any kind. Security followed us until checkout and wouldn't let our driver through the gate until our card was charged in full. We left the moment we could arrange transportation. Formal complaints are filed with the Quintana Roo prosecutor's office, Hyatt corporate and its ethics line, Mexican consumer and tourism authorities, and the Government of Canada. When it mattered most, this "5-star" resort protected their staff member and stonewalled the police.

Above all, the staff are professional, courteous, and there to make sure your stay is perfect. There is live music every night and activities you can do throughout the day if the weather permits. Unfortunately, we went during high seaweed season (June and July) so we couldn't enjoy the beach much, but it did look like an awesome bay. Will def recommend for those who are craving a relaxing and quality vacation.

Downsides were: food/drink quality - nothing I ate or drank here blew me away, including buffet or specialty restaurants, availability of daybeds are limited- if you don't wake up before 7am to snag one, they all will be occupied by either people or their belongings marking territory, limited activities if you're not into snorkeling or water stuff. They had a tequila tasting and one night claimed to have salsa lessons but that didn't happen. The rooms are ok but getting to them, you'll see lots of bugs. I guess it is the middle of the jungle but be prepared!

When vacationing you want to enjoy your time not be getting scolded by the staff. I am a native spanish speaker and was still being treated horribly. When walking to use the bathroom at the restaurant I was stopped by a man guarding the door who greeted me as "hey girl are you eating at the restaurant." I am a full grown woman. The man at the entrance tried saying something to me without even looking in my direction so I had no idea he was a addressing me. Then he processed to scold me, " hey did you not hear me!" No thank you. Also, Like many of the property owners in the area, they are illegally charging a fee to access the beach which is suppose to be public property and free with an open road access. Also, if you arrive by taxi you have to wait "under a tree" waiting for one to arrive and take you back. We waited a very long time to find one. Would never stay here but would def. Return to snorkel in the lagoon next to it.

We snorkeled for only $10 per person for the whole day and saw tons of marine life (turtles, rays, and fish). Everything was amazingly clean and the rooms were super cool. The bars were excellent, and compared to many other all inclusive resorts in the area, the pricing felt very reasonable. The restaurants were also a highlight. There was a good variety of options, and we generally enjoyed the food across the property. My biggest complaint was the constant push to sell the membership program. We received calls to our room at 8 a.m. three mornings in a row asking if we could schedule a meeting to discuss membership options. It became frustrating pretty quickly. What really surprised me was that when I mentioned this issue during checkout, the staff member still tried to pitch the membership while I was actively complaining about how pushy the sales tactics had been. It was honestly a little wild. The only other downside was the main pool seating situation. If you're hoping to grab two chairs together, especially later in the morning, it can be surprisingly difficult. That said, the friendly staff, great pools, solid dining options, and reasonable pricing made for an enjoyable stay overall. Just be prepared for some very persistent membership sales pitches.

The beach area was a seaweed sanctuary and basically not appropriate for swimming. The wildlife are bold when it comes to approaching guests and trying to steal food. Honestly, would never return. I can't see paying a lot of money for a resort that staffs such rude and distasteful staff members. You would be better off going to another nearby resort.
