This is a great coffee shop, they always have the most inventive drinks, and lots of choices! All the Baristas are super friendly and they really have amazing coffee! I like the atmosphere and the drinks are reasonably priced too. The only issue would be that the actual space is really tiny. There's nowhere to stand once you have ordered your drinks because there's always so many people there, but I guess if that's the worst, then at least you know it's busy because it's incredible! read more

First time here today. I got the Mexican mocha which was pretty good. Couldn't really taste any coffee in it which was a bummer. I like to be able to taste the coffee in it rather than just steamed milk and some flavoring. Usually I get Americanos so I'm used to strong coffee. Not too bad otherwise. read more

Ugh! Such a let down here...I drove out of my way because of the reviews but alas, no Bueno. Nobody greeted me when I walked in nor after I stood there for 4 minutes. I was behind only one other person whom was just there to chat with friends behind the counter. Finally, they noticed me - which is ridiculous, it's tiny, how could they not see me. Didn't have cold brew, oh well, but nobody said thanks or even anything as they pushed my iced Americano over the counter to me. Nothin'. First sip - blech. I don't recommend this place. All it takes is a friendly attitude and even if the coffee wasn't great, I wouldn't be writing this bad review. Find another place. read more

Super small but old school Internet cafe. The barista was a bit sassy and the other young lady was brand new and tried her best to answer questions. The wifi worked well but there are only a few tables outside. Definitely not the best coffee shop around but it will do if you are walking by. read more

Great little shop in West Seattle. Award winner too, who knew! Very nice staff, some of the best I've experienced in Seattle. I had my usual Americano, which was full and rich. Great place to stop by and grab a coffee. The baristas are amazing. Not really a place for loitering as they is not much seating and it is pretty cramped. Don't visit this place on a Sunday though, it is consistently flooded with evangelical Christians blurting out their intimate issues and testimonials for everyone to hear. read more

Lora has made a great choice in the three new barristas. They seem to work better on their own is my experience... Laaura was working on the 3rd I think it was. Lora (boss) had gone somewhere...office. The barrista Laura had a line outside the door and even though she is new, she had a small conversation with each of us... "What are you doing the 4th, she asked me... etc... She even washed her hands... I was also in when Jess was working alone... She also was pleasant and gave us a good Hotwire experience... I also like Madison, but have not seen her work alone. So having the older barristas hovering over her... Telling them how I like my drink... I changed mine and ... well I should have asked permission... I hope Lora (boss) will give them a chance and ask the customers and not the older barristas... Who may be biased' I hope this wasn't negative.... I am only writing this so that Lora knows a customers opinion. I hope other customers write a review also.... read more

Friendly staff, quick service, the place is small but cozy (not good for bringing your friends; its best for in and out service - that is the only reason why I gave it a 4 star) The quality of the drinks are well worth every sip. The way the owner, Angela, speaks about her loyal customers and employees is truly sick and disturbing. Equating people to pedophiles with bigoted remarks, using her young employees as soundboards for her unstable thoughts and gossip. I've come in too many times hearing her rush around and talk about her employees behind their backs, but this crosses the line. This place felt like Cheers when I first came in. Was awesome that everyone knew each other and all seemed great. There's such a great local community with positive energy coming into her establishment, and all her employees have been exceptionally professional and nice, so it boggles my mind as to why she would dare say such vile things about her employees and customers who keep her afloat. I wouldn't give a penny to a person like this. So many better coffee shops in the area to be a patron to. Do not give your money to toxic people who bring the community down. read more

Hands down the best coffee shop in West Seattle.

One of my favorite places for coffee in West Seattle! First: ordering by text message = AMAZING. When I'm running errands in the neighborhood, all I do is shoot them a text message and pick up my joe a few minutes later. My husband swears by their almond milk latte; I love their varied drink menu and seasonal flavors (though I usually end up chickening out and just getting my old standby: a plain mocha). Wifi is speedy (a big plus, as I often work from coffeeshops), and it's a nice place to hang out for awhile -- IF you can get a spot to sit. In the summer, their outdoor patio is lovely, but the inside is teeny-tiny and taken up by computer stations. Most of the time there isn't a place to sit, so you have to take your drink to go. I wish they'd expand, because it's definitely a place I wouldn't mind spending a little more time in. The people that work there are always friendly, and they're fast fast fast. Yay! read more

My favorite place for coffee in the morning, and you can text your order and have it waiting when you arrive! Seriously, the baristas here know their stuff--they use bottomless portafilters, which require a lot of technique in order to draw an even shot, but the result is a silky, luxurious mouthfeel. Newly pregnant I can't have caffeine so I went in to Hotwire on California Ave in West Seattle. It's a very compact humble little coffee shop with excellent staff. Greeted warmly and although the place was super packed I felt comfortable. Let me just say - Decaf usually tastes different to me than regular caffeinated anything. At Hotwire it doesn't - YUMMY! Every time I go there I try something new and every single time I am nothing but impressed!! Today I tried a smoothie like drink that was Blackberry flavored - addicted now! Yummy yum yum yum! I have to say that although I have been a Starbucks fan for a long time I probably will try to go to Hotwire whenever possible since their coffee is cheaper, the employees are friendlier and the coffee tastes so much better! I think that they roast their own beans too! I give these guys five stars - more if I could. Amazing stuff and I'm a picky coffee girl especially when it comes to decaf. I wish I knew the barista's name who was working last night (Thursday 1/28/16) so the owner of this place would know just how amazing she is! She is the perfect combination of sweet, smart quirky and pro. I decided to try a special drink they had that had dark chocolate...she not only customized it to make it less sweet and more chocolate, but suggest putting in fresh orange zest (yes, a real orange!)... And they have spectacular coffee -- I'm a minimalist, drink it black with no frills, so the beans are the big deal. Exploring and finding new coffee shops is always a shot in the dark but this place is one that hits the mark. The coffee is great, the neighborhood ambiance cosy and the service excellent. I frequent this establishment several times a week and have always loved the coffee here and the baristas are always friendly so you say what's with the one star rating? I went in for a rare iced drink and it so happened the owner herself was working she made my drink and then as I was pouring in the cream she informed me I used too much cream and in the future she would have to charge me for a breve, dumbfounded I asked her what do you consider an appropriate amount of cream and she said most people only use a "splash" obviously she's an idiot and a greedy one at that as she herself informed me " I need to make a profit" hey lady fyi: all busiiness want to make a profit but no other coffee house stands over their customers and measures the amount of cream and sugar they put in their drink, I like mine on the caramel looking side while someone else might like it black these two offset each other and your petty thinking allows me to conclude you need to learn a thing or two regarding customer service and quit being the greedy b***h that you are. I used to love this place - told everyone it was the best coffee shop in Seattle. But the new owner has changed all that. Oh, the coffee is still good. But she raised the prices significantly recently, by 10% (sales tax is no longer included in the listed price). Also, they are pushing this whole "dog-friendly" thing to a whole new level - I don't mind the dogs, as long as they are well-behaved. Today there was a big one jumping around in the tiny area where you order your drink. I made a comment about it, and this hipster dude behind the counter starts defending the dog, even as the owner has already moved outside. Fine. I explained that I have a phobia due to a traumatic experience with a pack of dogs surrounding me when I was 5, and the guy just made light of it. Then I'm chatting with the woman helping me, and hipster dude keeps inserting himself in the convo - not in a good way. He grabbed my phone and, incompletely, attempted to punch my Rewardy card - it didn't work, but he claims it did, with a very snarky response, and so what can I say? I don't like this place nearly as much as I once did. The people used to be so nice and friendly - what happened to you, Hotwire? I can get this kind of crappy service at Starbucks.
