Even though my account showed I was already an existing member, they wouldn't let me continue unless I paid it again. That situation was really frustrating and honestly felt unfair. If you value your health, be extremely cautious about the Santee 24 Hour Fitness. The conditions in the sauna and steam room are absolutely filthy. They have not been properly cleaned or disinfected in over a month. We are talking about visible grime and unsanitary buildup in high-moisture areas--a literal breeding ground for bacteria and mold. It is disappointing to pay a monthly membership fee for a facility that refuses to maintain basic hygiene standards. I have already filed a formal complaint with the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Cal/OSHA because management here clearly doesn't care about member safety or facility upkeep. Until they deep-clean these areas and prove they have a daily sanitation schedule, I would highly recommend looking at other gyms in the area. Note to Management: Don't reply with a generic "we're sorry" template. Actually clean the gym.

I've been working out here for three years and have experienced my transformation physically and mentally. I began fun 2019 at 225lbs and now I am at 145lbs. They coach you on nutrition alongside your program that's built for you based on your goals. I have had a full lifestyle change with the help of EF and the knowledge they share as they train you and do more than just instruct but teach. Most importantly your program is not just about reaching aesthetic goals but strengthening your muscles and joints so you can be stronger and healthier each day. Although there are many great coaches at East County, I have spent the most time with Coach Paul and Coach Erica. Both are fabulous coaches that are focused on preventing injury and helping you become strong and more athletic. I used to think that Crossfit was too intense for me or that I would bulk up. Spoiler alert, it is actually somewhat difficult to build muscle and found that instead of becoming bulky, I have become more lean and fit. And so much stronger! East County offers 3 different options at each workout, level 1, level 2 and an alternate option (like weight vest Wednesday), plus a fun partner workout on Fridays. Any one of any fitness level is able to join with the help of these fabulous coaches. My favorite part about East County is that it gave me a community when moving to a new city.
