EVERY SINGLE TIME my dogs stay there, they ignore my directions to feed them one bag per dog per day, WHICH INCLUDES MEDS, and feed them twice as much. THEN they have the audacity to call me and tell me I MISCOUNTED the bags I gave them! The corporation apparently hires only idiots who can't read simple sentences nor follow simple directions. This is the second year i went away an had my cat boarded. Prices are cheap, an they take great care of my cat. I let them know there was a missing toy last year an they found it an saved it for me i saw it in the bag when they dropped her off! Really awesome dog grooming/boarding spot. The owner is so friendly and nice. She seems great with dogs and really loves what she does. I live the look of the place and my dog was happier that a fat kid in a candy store coming here. Its a little hard to find, its behind the garden city deli on Stewart Ave, once you turn in you'll see the colors. I'd 100% bring my little guy back here for any grooming/boarding needs. read more

If only I could give this facility a ZER0!! Since the time Ive been bringing my dog to hounds town garden city, he has gotten sick EVERY single time he been there, even when I have brought his own personal bowl. Not only is this a problem but there is no live feed to see how your fur baby is doing throughout the day. There is no report of how their day was, like how other normal daycares would give that extra quality that your dog matters and they're not just other animal. Also, I immediately noticed the facility had a TERRIBLE odor. I have brought it up to staff before but it has never gotten better. Definitely don't recommend brining your fur baby here and look elsewhere and get better quality for a couple bucks more. read more

Absolutely loveeee HTGC. Not only is the staff so AMAZING with my Shiba pup, but they also ask how my day was and how I'm feeling when they see me so drained during pick up! They adore all the pups they take in no matter how big or small or what their personalities are like. Hiro went from being this shy boy who would sit in the corner all day to actually being a little social butterfly and having a "Hounds Town hangover" from all the fun he has with his new friends. My little guy (Bichon-Poo) has been going to Hounds town and I couldn't be more happy with them. I was nervous at first because Finley is small and I didn't know how he would do with the bigger dogs. He wags his tail and runs into the building. When I pick him up he exhausted from all the fun he has had. I have used there boarding ( 2 nights) and had no complaints. I also use Taylor for grooming and if you don't know Bichon poo's have a lot of hair. She did such a great job and I won't use anyone else for now on. They also offer exit baths. Just give them a time for pick up and your pup will be nice and clean! Thank you hounds town of island park for providing a secure, safe and happy place for my little Finley and all of his friends. I had called several places; 5 to be exact. They all said they weren't taking any "new customers." A couple of them said due to being short staffed. Understandable. Others wouldn't take my 15 weeks old puppy as soon as I responded, he's a "standard Poodle." Needless to say, I was disheartened, felt discriminated, and frustrated. Last call made, Garden City Hounds Town. Colleen listened to me and gave me and Hugo hope. She was honest with expectations, listened attentively, empathetic to our situation, very nice, and extremely accommodating. Appointment day, my husband received the same courtesy and friendliness I had experienced on the phone. Hounds Town loved Hugo, and they made him look like a showcase Poodle! Cutest ever!! It appears to be a nice place for dogs. I have left my dog there for day care and for overnight boarding without any issue. After the overnight, I wasn't told whether he had finished his meals nor did they give me back any unused food. My dog has a history of not eating his meals right away and it is not uncommon for him to not eat his "breakfast" until late in the evening, so was surprised when I asked them and was advised that my dog had eaten most of his food for the morning and evening meal. I also inquired whether he had gone number 2, but they couldn't tell me, do I had to take him for a walk right away after I picked him up. I am teaching my dog not to go to the bathroom indoors, so because the clients aren't allowed to go into the back, I'm not sure where the "astroturf" is located, inside or out. read more

i have never left my dog Jax for boarding before because he has some bad anxiety. the woman who usually watches him was unavailable so I had no choice but to find a place to board. i found hounds town and thought let me try it, but I think this may go bad because he's gonna have a nervous flip out....but WOW, I was pleasantly surprised by the staff who were extremely gentle, understanding, and patient with him!!!! they eased all my concerns and stress. i brought him in for 2 day care days to prepare him and he seemed to warm up. he has never done that before!!! boarding was a breeze. i was stressed for weeks over this but the staff truly are amazing and I had a GREAT experience. thank you hounds town!!!! read more

This place is amazing!! I took my Catahoula puppy for her temperament test and she has been going several times a week for four months now. I only have to say " school" and she runs to the back door. Once at the entrance to HT Cooper is so excited she shimmers from her brown nose to the tip of her tail. I know that she is playing with dogs, being supervised in a safe place and she loving it. She gets home has her dinner and then sleeps. My dog thinks she's human and doesn't like to interact with other dogs. She barks incessantly and thinks she owns the town. I boarded her at Houndstown, Garden City where she had her own luxurious castle. The staff at Houndstown was wonderful, caring and very communicative. They walked her, slowly mingled her with other dogs allowing her to adapt to the situation. They understood when she was overstimulated and met her needs. Plus it's so clean - doesn't smell like you were walking into a dog pound! I highly recommend this place and will no longer go anywhere else! read more

This is the best dog daycare on Long Island. The staff is the friendliest. They clearly love dogs so your baby is in good hands. The dogs love it. If you've never done dog daycare this is a great place to trust your dogs are in good hands. It's a bit hidden on Stewart Ave next to LaQuinta hotel. It's reasonably priced. Buy the 20 pack. All dogs have to be kept up to date on their shots. They also care for foster dogs on occasion so truly dog friendly and community minded. I just love it here. We tried all the others and how the staff presents themselves means everything about how your dog will be treated. Tip the staff every now and then please! They work hard and are always smiling. I was recommended by a very close friend to board our dog there. From the very first time we boarded Katz our Cavachon they were terrific. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with them. They are always very nice and you can tell that they really care about each and every dog that walks into that place. They give him a bath on our pick up day ( extra charge) and he is always excited to go. He comes home looking great and exhausted! Stay the absolute hell away from this establishment!!!! The fact that they are even calling themselves an establishment as if they're actually in business of caring for animals is laughable at best. Just to preface.. We literally just moved here from California and have been staying in a hotel for the last two weeks. Our pets have always been pampered and extremely loved on, we take pride in how well we love and take care of our fur babies. The fact that you hire such an incompetent employee who doesn't want to help, (fine we get it people have bad days) does not excuse the fact that she felt the need to hijack another conversation with a separate male employee who actually did and was trying to help, just to keep telling him shut up so he wouldn't help us. How miserable and pathetic you have to be to feel that you're going to try and bully a dog and it's owner just because you don't care for that breed is beyond me. She is white older woman probably mid 40's from the look of it with red hair. If you guys have any chance of saving face you can easily start with axing your extremely rude and unpleasant employee who is clearly not happy with her job and replace her with someone who gives a damn. You know we just wanted to take our boy out get him pampered for doing so well with the move and the time being at the hotel while everything else gets settled. We were prepared to drop $300+ which is what we always spend to get our big guy all dolled up and relaxed. How dare you for a second even think it's ok to welcome somebody into a business with "why are you here?!" Excuse me you got some nerve to try and sit on a high horse demanding we bring in our dogs paperwork if we are not boarding him, just wanting a spa day for him. You don't have to like American bulldogs, but don't open up a dog business if you plan on discriminating against breeds, he's not even remotely aggressive are you serious!!! No where on the website does it state walk ins are not welcome and if the hotel is down the road and we aren't familiar with the area THAT WE JUST MOVED TO of course we're going to walk in and ask a few simple questions regarding services! Your employees actions are disgusting, how do expect to stay in business when your own employees are complete tools to potential clients. read more

So happy we found this place as we prep for a long trip which we can't bring our pup on. You can tell from the moment you walk in that this is a group of dog lovers. It's set up like a cute town... hence the name. They do a temperament test with new dogs which I was happy to hear.. I wanted to know that my guy would react well but that other dogs are also well socialized and can be around other dogs. They also offer a free day care stay so you can try it out... after the temperament test. My guy LOVED IT. They post pictures and videos throughout the day so you can see how much fun they are having... and the staff has been more than willing to answer questions through the day... no matter how many, or what you ask. They do cute theme parties for the pups too and they seem to treat the pups like family. We picked up Frankie after his daycare stay and he didn't even make it down the block after we left the parking lot before he fell asleep. He even got a report card for his first day so that I can know how he did. He got all his energy out and had a fun day running around. Prices and packages are more than reasonable. read more
