Bad quality and service. The staff is rude, and the vibe isn't great at all, it doesn't feel welcoming. I do not recommend it

I'm extremely picky about extensions, and know a good place when I try it. Out of all the extension places I've tried (more than a dozen in the GTA), Tokyo Beauty Studio is the ONLY place I've come back to. I've been coming to them for a couple years now; Whenever I go on vacation and don't want to deal with the hassle of falsies/mascara, you can find me here. There are different technicians, but everyone is excellent. They're perfectionists and meticulous. I can tell them what I'm looking for - and they'll definitely deliver. Unlike other eyelash extension places, they always understand what I want before putting lashes on me. Best of all, these lashes LAST. The full look lasts around 3 weeks for me (Which is a miracle. Admittedly I do rub my eyes, use cleansing oil, the whole shebam.) I don't want a "I bought $1 falsies from eBay and stacked them on my eye" look. I want a "damn, she must have some next level genes to have lashes like that" look. Tokyo Beauty Studio absolutely delivers. I would strongly recommend this studio!

Be aware that laser hair removal at ANY place is not guaranteed to be effective. I got a few of large body parts done here for laser hair removal. I was able to see the difference immediately after the first session. After spending over $1,000 a lot of the hair grows back just as thick as it did before and in some places not so much. As for the service: When I come here I feel like I'm getting quality service with integrity, and Hoda is super gentle. Just to give you a heads up this service is set in an unrelated business office. Hoda has two rooms rented out here for her various services. Dont expect a spa setting. However, your skin or hair follicles dont know the difference (about the setting), so it doesnt matter. I would also recommend booking 1 or 2 sessions ahead if possible. I recommend this place.

Experience: As a new client of Karisma, I was very impressed with the service that Hoda provided to me. I went in for my first session for laser hair removal on Feb. 14th. I initially was only going in to get my underarms, but thanks to Hoda, I ended up doing all three small areas. The procedure only took 30 min. and that is for three areas. Hoda started with the paper work or admin. stuff and walked me through how we would proceed and she also took the time to explain her machines. Her newest machine is impeccable. It's performance is amazing, I barely felt anything except for a warm glaze of heat. We started my first session at a higher setting and my skin was fine, where we didn't see any inflammation or red skin. Hoda was very pleasant to work with; she approached my appointment in a professional and friendly manner. She offers many other services, in which I cannot wait to try, like photofacials. As a side note, just in case you forgot to shave a certain area or two, Hoda does offer to shave off the hair on those areas to treat. Razors are clean and disposable. Price: The cost of her services are manageable and much more affordable than other like competitors that offer similar services, such as laser hair removal. Aside from Groupon, she openly offers the same promotion in her clinic. I have three small areas to be treated by Hoda. During your appointment, you can either bring a print version of your groupon or present it from your phone, where she can scan the barcode. Please keep in mind that you have to pay for taxes during your visit. Don't forget to tip!* Location: Karisma MediSpa is located near McCowan/Ellesmere; minutes away from Scarborough Town Centre and the McCowan RT station. During weekends, there are certain procedures to enter the building, and that information can be obtained from Hoda. It's very easy finding the building; it is on the North side of St. Louis Bar and Grill. The clinic is located on the 7th floor. If you are taking the TTC; you can either exit from the mall from the Cineplex side and walk past the YMCA (3min) or exit from the McCowan RT station (3-4min). Verdict: Whether it's your first time getting laser hair removal or you're an avid experienced user, I highly recommend going to Hoda at Karisma. She's very gentle, knowledgeable, and friendly. Her machine is so impressive and you can barely feel anything, well at least for me. I cannot wait to go back for my next few sessions and see more results!

Arriving at the hotel, there's indoor parking which is nice - it gets validated with a spa receipt so no worries about added cost. You have to go go through the lobby and take the stairs to get this sheltered courtyard type area where you see the pool and a little bit of a run down sign to the spa. Upon entering, you definitely feel the low ceilings close in on you. We let the reception know of our appointment for a couples package (90 min massage with hydrotherapy) and we were escorted into this tiny room with a few lockers and robes. Then we found ourselves in a room with a bath tub to learn that we are supposed to "take turns". Kind of odd considering it's a couples package but we made do. The jets were soothing and the aromatherapy was pleasant. It was a little surprising when the 2 girls that escorted us in did not agree on the sequence of the services. We ended up doing the bath first. After waiting for one another to be done the bath, we got to the massage. The therapists asked us how long the massage is supposed to be (which again is odd). We confirmed it was 90 mins. My masseuse was descent in strength but had no structure (as in she went from the shoulders to the arms back to the shoulders then to the head then to the legs then back). It was all over the place so not as soothing as I had hoped. But my husband said his was ok. In checking out, I found out they didn't accept Amex (which was surprising as I thought they were an extension of the hotel). But otherwise it was a simple process. Not sure if we'd come back honestly, because it was very disorganized. It was not so much a treat which is what we expect of a hotel so we probably should have the routine stuff.

I was surprised that the delta hotel became a homeless shelter and you can expect that the vibe is not good when you reach the place. I had to get "screened" in the lobby not for the purpose of going to the spa but for the homeless shelter. Honestly, they only asked for my name and number and not a real screening you would expect. Also confused because saachi spa called me three times prior to the appointment and still had to ask what I wanted to do. Honestly, they were not thorough with the facial and made me try a different facial treatment instead. I think the spa is only managed by one person since nobody else was there. Try elsewhere!

She continued to explain that I couldn't get the massage I booked for but "I'll figure it out" I couldn't help but feel as if my pregnancy was some kind of inconvenience that needed to be "figured out". I would have expected a more professional response like "that's great! Congratulations! Let me adjust the massage to be more comfortable for you" Maybe I'm too sensitive but this really ruined my experience. I addressed my shoulder issues but received no extra attention to my problem area. When I mentioned I worked on my feet she quickly exclaimed "I can't massage your feet". I wasn't asking that, I was just giving her some background info. I first saw Marjena but she has since moved to the Hand and Stone College St location. I will be seeing her there next time!

My appointment was at 3:20pm and I came in early just in case. Once I was called in, they put me in a room just before 3:20 and I waited. And waited. And waited. 40 minutes later a rushed Doctor Mansour walked in with the personality of someone that just didn't seem to have the time for anything that day. He asked me about my concerns and I showed him both cysts. The one on my chest he said "oh yeah I see it. It's white. (I'm white like hello?) and then looked at my face and said "oh I don't remove anything on the face. You'll have to wait for our plastic surgeon who is here every few weeks (I just waited 3 weeks for this appointment where you KNEW it was on my face, based on my referral). Then he proceeds to tell me since he "can't" and the plastic surgeon can...the bill will start at $800. Once I said that I'd seek treatment elsewhere he said "ok, well I'll give you an antibiotic" and that was the end of it. Didn't explain why he wouldn't do it and didn't even bother to remember the cyst on my chest or explain to me what "white" meant. My appointment took three weeks to get, ran 40 minutes behind schedule, and lasted less than 5 minutes. AvantDerm seemed eager to offer me services like Botox and microneedling and didn't seem to even care about the medical concern I had. Here I am left with no answers and nothing but wasted time. The lineup went pretty smoothly, and I got a call back time later in the afternoon so I bicycled home across downtown and bicycled back later when they called me. Luckily I had enough time to get there before someone jumped ahead of me. The appointment went quickly after checking in, and turns out I had poison ivy which was new to me and I had no idea it was as dramatic as it was. The doc knew what it was as soon as he took a look. To me it seemed like they over-prescribed some of the treatment in sheer quantities especially. Months later I am still using the cleanser which is very nice, but was quite a bill of around $100 when I checked out as they had some of the treatment items there. And the prescription cream went largely unused since the sizes of the container was enough to treat an elephant. Otherwise a good experience overall and would not hesitate to go there again.
