I had a particularly difficult repair on a leather messenger bag. it cam back looking like new. I though that the prices was fair for the unique nature of the repair and the fact that no one else would even attempt to fix the bag. My husband was going to throw it away, but because I was able to find the Shoe Hospital in the Woodlands, it's as good as new. it is the second time I had had a difficult repair job done and each time I have been more than satisfied. This is a skill that is slowly dying, but I hope these guys stay here for along, long time. read more

I had these guys put new soles on my two year old work boots. I just couldn't be happier with how they turned out. I would say they are good as new, but they are better than new because they are already broken in. Along with the fantastic job they did with the soles, they even cleaned them up real nice. Be very careful when you go in this store. If he sees the item be it shoe, purse, boot ,belt is a pricey name brand he will immediately jack up the price. Ive taken things to him for years and the last few times I was aghast at what he wanted to charge.Not only that, you will be told when you can pick it up but it won't be ready. The quality of his work has also declined.There are other repairs shops in the area. They may not be as close to your house as this one but it will be worth your trip. read more

To be honest I'm very disappointed of this place, I took my shoe to get fixed and I just wore it like 3 times and It came unstitched. I went back to get it fixed and when I explained the bearded from counter guy he was just ok. then when I went to pick it up I got there by 7:50 am. And the place was close with the sing open on, I knocked on the door for 5 minutes and nobody showed up. read more

I brought my daughter's shoes in for what I believed would be a very simple repair--a single rhinestone had fallen off. I was told the repair would take a week and was charged $28. Since one stone had already fallen off, I asked that the rhinestones on both shoes be glued as a preventive measure. The associate assured me that both shoes would be taken care of. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Only one shoe was repaired. When we finally put the shoes on for the first time--nearly a month after picking them up--the rhinestone on the other shoe immediately fell off. This was very disappointing, especially given the cost and the assurance I was given. In hindsight, I could have completed this repair myself for under $10 and achieved better results. read more

I've taken boots here in the past and had such a good experience that I was encouraged to use them again. I dropped off two leather belts to be shortened as well as a favorite pair of heels, sling-backs, that the elastic (holding the shoe on my heel) had stretched out. All were done almost a week ahead of time promised, and the repairs were so well done that I couldn't even tell they'd been altered in any way. So very pleased w/the staff at this location. While certainly not cheap, it's cheaper than replacing w/new. And these were favorite belts/shoes, so replacement probably not even an option. Another win! Thank you! read more

I had a pair of shoes brought over to get repaired, heels had come off, HOUSTON shoe hospital charged me over $45 to glue the heels back up, I wore the shoes a couple of times and they came back off. Brought the shoes back to ask them to correct the issue, and they wanted to charge me another $25 to redo it, the guys at the counter said it was because I could be bringing a different pair of shoes. Totally insulted me at his store basically calling me a liar. I simply packed my shoes back up and left. Now I know why I had to come back to the store. This place is a rip off, and if they don't do a good job, they won't warrant their work, they don't stand behind their work. I will never come back here again! read more

Do you know how hard it is to find a great shoe cobbler with years of experience in their craft? When you do find one like at this location of the Houston Shoe Hospital hold on and spread the word. If you really know your shoes and how they were made then you already realize it it not an easy process to repair shoes especially mass factory produced shoes. The shoe cobbler retreaded my worn out country work boots with grip tread and a good cleaning and I am so thankful because I did not want to buy another pair due to these being broken in perfect. The price is compensatory to repair and work experience of a shoe cobbler so I feel it the price is well worth it. read more

Poor and shady customer service + the staff didn't know what he was talking about nor wanted to take the time to explain what they were going to do with my shoes..... they charged me $100+ to basically apply a sticker on the soles of my shoes with a heat gun but luckily I followed my gut because something was off. I was misinformed with the service they were going to do and that's not what I wanted. I paid for the service, left my shoes there and after I left the store, I call them and they don't answer. I gave it some time cause they are probably busy but hours later, still don't answer. At this point, I don't care if you're busy; I'd rather be placed on hold and wait to speak to someone than leave a voicemail. So I went back and asked the repair guy what he was going to do but he won't give me a direct answer. I'm asking him what I already know he was going to do but won't tell the truth. I took my shoes, left and clearly won't trust these people with my stuff going forward. When someone decides to use your services and you aren't given the full spectrum of what they're going to be doing and they completely dismiss you like they don't value you as a customer then I'd rather take my shoes elsewhere than risk a shady poor quality repair. read more

Ben saved my hubby's brown leather dress shoes which had a very noticeable dime sized hand sanitizer lightened spot. I can't even see where the spot was now! One more vote for truly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I showed up around Noon on the date of pick-up noted on my ticket to be treated disrespectfully as I did not read the fine print stating " pick-up after 4:30pm" I was also then rudely informed of the text and/or email I need to wait for. Why was this not shared the day of drop-off? Upon arriving at around 4:45p the same day to make my pick-up there was a lady customer ahead of me which was dropping off several belts and picking up several belts as it turns out. After seeing me behind her about 3 minutes into my arrival she made the comment to the store representative to assist me as she was going to need more time. His comment to her statement as he looked at me with an interesting grin was "oh you know....ladies 1st he can wait" I waited patiently for about 15 more minutes as he finalized with the other customer. I really don't mind waiting my turn, however, the 2nd episode was enough to tell me that he enjoys this type of thing. Work was quality. All the guy had to do was offer a recommendation versus be very rude and say "No we don't fix that". Took two pairs of shoes for heel tack repair. One was bought in February '22, so practically new, but since I wore them frequently the heel tacks were starting to thin out (the shoes were new so I wanted to do some good maintenance to prevent further damage). The other pair of shoes I wore daily for most of the year and again, although in good shape, I still thought they were ready for the heel tacks. After getting the tacks repaired and after wearing the first pair for two weeks the heel tacks completely disintegrated. I stopped wearing them to avoid more damage and switched to another pair, that the shop "fixed" and within a week the tacks started to thin out to the point of being able to see the metal part through. So I took both of them back and described the problem. The guy I was talking to said he will do the repair but only if I paid for the repairs! That is AFTER the initial repair (done by the same guy) that did not hold up. He refused to address it in any other way. I don't know if it was faulty material or bad workmanship. What I do know for sure is the quality of their customer service is non-existent. He did not even offer as much as an apology and tried to allude that the work was done elsewhere. These guys are amazing! My beloved (and obnoxiously loud and unique) suitcase got a snag in the zipper last fall and I thought it was toast. I called every luggage repair place in greater Houston- and most requested I text a photo of the damage. Not a single other store was capable or wanted the business- all said that they couldn't fix it. (There was a strain/snag in the "teeth" part of the zipper and it wouldn't line up). I was referred by another store in downtown Houston to the Shoe Hospital- they said if ANYONE could fix it, it would be the Shoe Hospital. Fast forward- I brought my suitcase in and they FIXED it! Very reasonable turnaround time (less than a week- especially right before my Christmas traveling). The total expense was just under $65- which is a fraction of what I would have spent to replace the bag. Very happy with the customer service I received here- and that they were able to revive my crazy suitcase. I will be a repeat customer for sure! read more

My luggage was missing a bolt on the top by the handle, the handle that lifts up to allow hands under it. I brought my luggage in to replace the bolt, when I picked up the luggage, the repair had secured the handle to not move anymore, so I can not pick up luggage from the top. When I stated that was not correct, I was reprimanded. I paid over $45 dollars to have my luggage unusable as well as talked down to. read more

I dropped off a designer purse for leather repair and was told it would take around 2 weeks for repair. It has been over double that amount of time and whenever I call to check on my item they either don't answer or say they don't have any estimate on the progress of the repair or when it will be completed. I understand these repairs may take time but that should be clearly communicated when you drop off your item. I have already paid quite a lot of money for the repair and still don't have my item or any estimate as to when it will be completed. They have horrible customer service and seem annoyed everytime I call to check on my item even though I wasn't told any of this information when I dropped it off. Started using them a year and a half ago. Soles and taps on boots, purse repair, shoe buckle replacement...the most impressive being the cleaning and restoration of a crossover bag. They did an amazing job, are very knowledgeable, and have incredible customer service. If you have a great bag that has gotten really dirty, I would take it here. Amazing. read more

If I could give a zero rating, I would. I dropped off a hand stitched slipper that needed stitching repair in the front. It was an overpriced mess - $30 dollars wasted. You take it to a professional service expecting quality repair. Their only response to their poor craftsmanship was they don't guarantee the original quality. That's fine, but I would expect something better than I could do myself. They did not follow the original stitch pattern, they didn't put the sole liner all the way back, and it's just a poor quality fix. Also, no call back from corporate for a resolution. The in-store guy said he would send it back to get fixed, but after 2 weeks, absolutely no changes were made. read more

I dropped my 4-year-old boots off on 12/01/2021 last week to have the worn heels replaced. The boots were rarely used and had very little wear. When I pick up the boots today, 12/06/2021 I noticed that there was a stain on the side of the left boot and also on the heel of the right boot. I advised the clerk that the boots were not in that condition when I initially brought them in for repair. He really had no comment except to say it looked like some type of oil stain and would not take responsibility for the damage. My suspension is that they were damaged when the new heels were glued on, as there was no sign of the new heels being tacked on. I am very disappointed because my boots look awful, and the damage cannot be repaired. See attached pictures. read more

I took my favorite pair of boots to this place for a little freshen up, and the totally ruined my boots. Literally they are like clown shoes now. First they promised me one week turnaround and it took two. Then when my boots showed up the completely died my whole boot the wrong color. So they apologized and gave me a refund and swore they could fix it. Another week and a half later the boots come back completely wrong and totally ruined. Seriously I came home and I am going to throw them in the garbage. Not only that the store clerk was rude and said there was nothing they could do for destroying my boots. I had my heels lowered and taps replaced. So I decided to add a strap to my Christian Louboutin peep toe PRIVE shoes. I was hesitant but I can never wear them as they slipped off my foot. I worked with Wendell the regional manager and gave him the details with a sample shoe on how I wanted and where to place the strap. They turned out Perfect!!!! I am surprised with the reviews as they have always done a nice job and I have quite a collection of high end shoes. This is my go to shoe repair place. Just brought in all 5 pairs of Chanel flats. I have a pair of Christian Loubouin boots that needed to have a protective sole placed on the bottom. A friend recommended that I go here. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
