Houston's Hot Chicken The menu is a chicken lover's dream, and the Chicken Sandwich with fries was really good. The slaw on the sandwich was --creamy, crunchy, and a perfect cool sweet counterpoint to the salty chicken. The bun, too, was incredibly soft, and did not crumble. The Lemon Pepper Strip that came with the Combo was equally impressive. The seasoning on the strips was exceptional, delivering a zesty and savory punch that was memorable. My wife's Hot Three Strip Combo also was good with the chicken cooked and sauced to perfection. Beyond the food, the vibe of the restaurant was welcoming. The service was quick and efficient, and the restaurant's interior, with its illuminated granite counters and vibrant mural, added to the overall positive atmosphere. While the food and ambiance were great, there was one minor hiccup. A cashier's habit of saying "huh?" after every sentence made for a slightly frustrating ordering process, requiring repetition that felt unnecessary. However, this small detail didn't overshadow the fantastic meal. With its exceptional food, quick service, and cool interior, this Houston's Hot Chicken location is a definite must-try for anyone loving Texas Hot Chicken.

I took the kids here for lunch and was impressed with the friendly staff! I like the spicy nuggets, but think the chicken would have been juicier if I got the tenders. I also should have gone up a spice level from medium to spicy. But it was all still good and came with a large portion of coleslaw which was great with the fries! It all came with a side of sauce that had some kick to it. I really liked the art work, created a great ambiance!
The chicken here is pretty good, i had the spicy tenders and they weren't as spicy as expected. I did have one tender with houston we have a problem rub. Omg it was hot, like miserable hot for a hood 10 minutes. The staff warned againagainst it, but i signed my waiver and went for it. Staff was great, and the restaurant itself is very relaxed and they keep the place pretty darn clean.
So it is my birthday and we are on our way to Vegas to celebrate but had to stop to see about this crazy hot chicken. So the warning they give before you sign a waiver to even order the "Houston we have a problem" rub. If you have a heart attack, internal bleeding or even death. I told my husband as he was signing the waiver, you better pray that you are ok. If anything happens, you are in big trouble. He did the challenge and was able to take 3 bites. I had 3 mild tenders and my son had the medium rub chicken sandwich. I enjoy the country music and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is so friendly and go out of their way to make it a wonderful experience. Thank you for the great meal. We wil definitely be back.

Great service but I ordered for extra sauce and extra slaw on the side and slaw and sauce already comes with it (no sauce and no slaw inside item) this was for pickup, so I paid for extra sides for nothing, and the pickles were slimey and light green. I also noticed less fries with the change of packaging, I miss the square box they used to come in
Ok, so we went to go check this place out because we have been wanting to and it just so happened that after an appointment it was before the dinner rush and we remembered so to Houston Hot Chicken we went. The employees were friendly and it was very clean. We ordered a classic chicken sandwich, a loaded fries and a 3 piece tender in medium because we all like hot. I ordered a cucumber watermelon lemonade which was so good! Our food came out quickly and gave off a very nice first impression. We dove in and the ingredients all tasted really fresh which was a plus however the chicken for all 3 dishes had absolutely no flavor at all. Usually medium is pretty decent spice level but there was nothing. I'm not sure if it was just an off day and because of how nice everything else was we will probably give it another shot soon but ultimately it was disappointing this trip and the flavor didn't live up to our expectations at all. Fries were crispy, pickles were fresh and crunchy, sauce was good, chicken was cooked well just missed the mark on the flavor. Hopefully next time it will be better, and may just have to turn up the heat on level of spice.

Im biased when it comes to Hot Chicken because I've only ever tried Houston Hot Chicken! I freakin' love this place especial this location. Not only is it close to my house, the staff here is super fun and really nice. They go above and beyond when it comes to answering questions and showing hospitality. Shout out to Chelsea for being a real one! The restaurant is always spotless, sells amazing and the food tastes even better! 10/10! read more

Popped in the other day to get my grub on with some hot chicken. Houston TX hot chicken is pretty good, they are definitely not skimping on the chicken. Their fries are always fresh! I had the tenders combo and fries in spicy. It was fresh and delicious, the only thing that is not consistent about the food is that sometimes when you order spicy it's not at all and other times, it is way too spicy, which was the case this last time I visited. So I guess it depends on who's ever in the kitchen and what mood they may be in! (LOL) My son had his usual favorite, which is the chicken sandwich that comes with the tender and fries. He also ordered an extra tender on the side. The pickles at HTHC are so delicious. Sometimes I order a side of them! If you ask for extra pickles, the restaurant charges you a $1.00,, or you can buy a side for $2.99. The staff is always friendly, and the service is fast. The person who took our order at the front counter, was so sweet. His shift ended while we were still enjoying our dinner, and he stopped to wish us a good evening and that he hoped we were enjoying the food! The restaurant is always clean and I really like the red vibe in there plus the music. Keep up the good work! Enjoy! read more

This is our second time here, the first time was an Elite event. We loved the food and service so much we couldn't wait to return. This time my hubby signed a waiver to get the "houston we have a problem" fusion fries. It is with Carolina reaper and scorpion powder. I was thinking he was insane but couldn't wait to see if he could do it. The rest of us got mild chicken sandwiches. My hubby was sweating profusely and didn't even make it half way. Gave us all a good laugh at his expense. I prefer to not be in pain while I eat so I didn't even take a bite. My only complaint is drinks don't come with the combos, just fries. My plus one and I really enjoyed our visit to HTHC. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and we really appreciated that the employees took their time to explain the menu and heat variations. The location is a little hidden. We relied on maps to get us there, but you really need to know to look for it. The place could use better signage on the main road. You have to take a road along side the gas station and wrap around to the back. I hope that gets straightened out. We ordered the chicken sandwich and tender meals as well as the cheesy sandwich. We ordered regular and medium heat. The medium had a kick to it. I'm a bit of a wimp to any heat but I was able to tolerate it. I definitely won't get anything more spicy. The fries were very crispy, almost like a thick outer texture. I'm still not sure if it is too crispy. Can that even be a thing? Overall, everything had a great flavor. I like the bright colors of the interior pictures. I'm not entirely sure how it is all supposed to relate to the restaurant but it is definitely colorful and interesting. I hope people are able to figure out how to find the place and make it popular and we'll known. I'm sure we will be back and we wish them the best!! read more

After having tried this new restaurant through a Yelp event we decided to come back and try something different. We even brought our kids this time around. The staff are so friendly here! I mean top notch with being helpful and patient, making sure to explain the menu and help whenever you have a question. I ordered a regular watermelon cucumber drink but was given the frozen version. Even though I said it was ok and I'd drink the frozen drink I was still brought out the regular drink. This time I tried out the Texas Caesar Salad. Again, the chicken was amazing! I enjoyed the salad I just wish it had more lettuce. The portion was really small and with the small size of the bowl there isn't much the employees can do. The salad itself had great flavor and I really enjoyed the shaved Parmesan. The hubby went with the sandwich and tender again but decided to try the medium and mild spice levels instead this time around. He said he really enjoyed these levels of spice since the spicy was just a bit too much for him. My kids tried the chicken sandwich with the honey butter spice level and the tender and Belgian waffle plates. Both said the chicken was delicious! I really love their fries though. They're perfect and seasoned well. We've been here twice now and as long as they keep up the great work and their staff continues to be wonderful, we will continue to come and eat. read more
Finally able to try this business, I was supposed to go to an Elite Event but had a family emergency. This is close to my work and I have to say very yummy. I got the 2 tenders medium, yummy and flavorful. My reason for 4 stars was the fries were a little underdone for me, they were not crispy at all. Back in Bakersfield and so I HAD to try Houston TX Hot Chicken. I've heard a lot of good things about the place and want to get in with the hype! I ordered the strawberry milkshake, chocolate milkshake, and the fusion fries. The chocolate milkshake was up my alley but the strawberry was a tad bit too sweet for my liking. The fusion fries had a lot of flavor in it that I wasn't quite too sure about. The mango bites were interesting and sadly, the fries got soggy way too quickly. The chicken was good. I got one spicy and one medium tender. The spicy was spicy, it builds up! I would love to try their sandwich though because I feel like that's where the real review is going to be about. P.S. I found out about this place through Yelp. it seems like a fast food joint, but in reality it is a good food fast joint. We order the Chicken Salad, the Texas Caesar, for $13.99. I thought I get the extra chicken for $4.99 because we were splitting the lunch. It turns out this is unnecessary. They give you generous portions with all their meals. I love their chicken. They say it's never frozen, free-range. I only know it is tender. They have a variety of sauces - from mild to super spicy - so you get the seasoning you like. Even at the busy lunch hour time, our food took less than 10 minutes to get to our table. The order staff is efficient, and they bring the food right to your table. The seating is comfortable, although in one section you're sitting a little high. But there is a cushion, so it's not that bad. Overall, this is a good value, with excellent service, and a step above fast food. read more

Had a great experience here today for lunch! Great, fresh food, hand crafted drinks and milkshakes! fresh baked cookies! Nice portion sizes, good prices, welcoming, comfortable, cool and clean atmosphere! The Mild chicken has some nice mild flavorings, But the medium level chicken is where it's at! loved the perfect amount of "spiciness" to it without it being overly spicy. The fries were also a hit! Crispy, hot and seasoned just right!! enjoyed very much! The cucumber watermelon lemonade and strawberry hibiscus lemonade were crafted with love, lol, just so refreshing and tasty, and not overly sweet at all! Staff and Service were friendly and generous through out the entire visit! A very accommodating and happy crew that just made my visit that much better! So much more on the menu to try! My coworker recommended this place, so I had to visit. The friendly employee explained the spicy level to us since it was our first visit, and he recommended medium level as he wanted us to enjoy the food. We went one step higher to spicy level since we can typically handle spicy pretty well. It had a good level of heat, and the chicken was juicy. The slaw cut the spiciness well, and though it gave a bit of burning on lips, the spiciness doesn't build, so it was very enjoyable. Next time, I will probably do one level up. Came in around 545 and there was a few tables occupied. The outside was very clean and the inside was tidy and updated. I love the chicken mural on the wall gives it that artsy modern vibe. The pricing was fair for the meal definitely the bang for your buck. The staff was extremely friendly as I tend to be a needy client asking for sauces and customizing my meal. The employee was super sweet and smiled the whole time saying is there anything else that sounds great and also gave recommendations about the meal. Even the cooks in the back were smiling and having a good time. The chicken was absolutely fantastic. You can tell that it is real chicken and not processed. The fries were crispy and crunchy. I got one tender that was medium, and one that was spicy, and it was the perfect spice level. The southwest salad was absolutely delicious. Had the crispy Romain lettuce with that green dressing that hit the spot. During the hotness, the sweet tea was perfectly sweet.
