Dr. Miller is the best vet I've ever brought any of my pets to. I found him through Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston, who I foster and rescue with. He is very patient, and has a great staff. The recovery from all the surgeries have been the easiest recoveries, which I attribute to him being fantastic at what he does. I'm not sure of the reason for the bad reviews but I have been bringing both of my cats here since they were babies. Dr Miller has always taken great care of both of them and has addressed any issue I have brought to him with a kind and thoughtful approach. He was the first an only vet to determine the cause of one of my cats ear issues. I firmly believe he is not out to make money as some other reviews suggested and trust his judgement 100%. "Dr" Miller and "Dr" Dayton are running a nice operation, in which they will take advantage of you, especially if your fur baby is in dire need of medical attention. Why do I say that? Simple; look at the other bad reviews and immediately you'll notice a trend. You come in with a pet in dire need of medical attention, and they'll "suggest" $400-ish dollars worth of tests (usually the same tests by the looks of other complaints, look at Yelp, Facebook and Google Reviews). None of such tests are even remotely related to your pets condition, its just to get easy money out of the customer. Example, I have a 13 week-old pug that had severe diarrhea and wasn't eating. Their suggestion? Let's run $400 dollars worth of tests, from several fecal flotation tests (which failed to address THE ACTUAL CONDITION OF MY PET!) to an X-Ray... I took my pet to an actual, qualified and honest vet, and the result? A $120 visit that finally addressed what my pet had: Coccidia. He's now much better (after blowing close to $700 with these clowns of "North Houston Veterinary Hospital") as that's all my pet had. Look at other bad reviews. There's clearly a trend to suggest unnecessary X-rays, bloodwork and other tests, and all of the people that have complained are conveniently charged a similar amount. I am complaining with the Veterinarian Association which these "Doctors" belong to, along with posting this review on every social media platform that they're on plus I am submitting a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Exorbitantly high on fees. I was quoted $870 for a surgical procedure my regular vet performed for $150. A few months later, my regular vet was booked and I needed heath certificates for 3 puppies. While I expected to pay more, the $480 they tried to charge me was insane. I took my puppies and left. Fortunately, I was able to get my regular vet to agree to fit me in. The total bill there? $39. Took my dog there a few times for boarding before last week. I hadn't had issues until the last boarding. I dropped him off Thursday night. Friday while I was boarding a plane I get a call that he's been hurt. They said he'd been outside in a separate run and jumped a fence to go after another dog. I asked how tall was the fence. They said 4-1/2 feet. My dog has never once jumped a fence that size - I know because it's the same size that separates our yard from the neighbors. Even if this is the case, the fences should be higher since my dog is only 33 pounds and they must take care of dogs bigger than him. He suffered a pretty bad cut on his face and it required stitches. The vet said they'd cover it. When I went to pick him up from boarding they charged me the entire amount for his stay. I asked why I was being charged for the entire amount of the stay when my dog was injured during his time there. She simply said "these charges are for boarding, not the injury." What in the hell?! My dog has stitches across half of his face - possibly because of negligence. At the very least because your facilities are not safe for a dog that's only 33 pounds. They offered no apologies and instead tried to blame my dog for being able to jump high. I do not recommend this facility for anything. Your dog isn't in good care there. read more

We have been patients of Dr. Dayton for more than 5 years and I got to say these reviews don't do it justice! I started coming here with my mom and her chihuahua and even though her dog is a feisty dog, he managed her well! When I got married and had dogs of my own, I brought them to him and we all love him! He's real patient, he gives specific after-care instructions, and his staff calls the next day to check and make sure everything is going great. His staff are pretty quick and very polite. If I could give ZERO STARS. That's what this facility deserves. They changed us $900 to get test done on our cat and we didn't hear back from them for almost 1.5 wks meanwhile my cat was getting worse. Once they got back with me they told me he had cancer and their suggestion was to make arrangements to put my pet to sleep. We made the appointment and came in today and the OWNER decided this would be the perfect time to discuss the review we left prior to coming in bc of the bad customer service and just human dignity. Meanwhile our family cat is gasping for air she ended up refusing services and made us leave our poor cat ended up dying in the parking lot. How could a vet do this all over a review? I can't believe some of the bad reviews about this place. The staff have been nothing but amazing. We have found this place because we were needing to take one of our dogs were having spent issues we couldn't get rid of and they took him immediately. Not only did they take thier time with him, they continued to make sure our Furry friend was okay. They called the next day to check how he was doing and if we had any further questions. I decided to take my other dog in for her annual check up, and they were amazing with her as well. They handled her with care as well. They also have a groomer on site that I decided to try for 2 of my dogs. What a nightmare that was experienced here today. My grandmother took her pup to this location this morning to have her spayed and she was treated terribly by the horrible front desk girl. Upon returning to pick up the puppy from her procedure my grandmother realized the puppy's cover was soak and wet and simply made the comment "aww I wish I would have known so I could have brought her a fresh blanket" and the desk girl quickly snapped and replied with "why it's just a dog" First of all, not only is that an appalling remark especially considering she works for a vet, but to tell that to an elderly women who was simply worried about her dog is disgusting. The puppy is not "just a dog" she is my grandmothers ONLY companion, she is apart of the family, she is very important to my grandmother and for her and to be treated as trash is monstrous. I'm so disappointed. My poor grandma came home in shambles because of this ordeal. We want everyone to know the experience we had today. read more

If there were a zero star...I write this review with a heavy heart. My parents brought their dog here for a teeth cleaning $600 and the dog the next day was clearly not the same. She couldn't breathe. My Dad called Dr. Miller and he said to bring her back in to check her out $500. Prescribed medication for heart failure and she died 7 hours later. Dr. Miller is a con taking advantage of vulnerable people. My parents dog was perfectly healthy until this. The least this con could do is repay my parents for his negligence. If you care about your pet, avoid this place like the plague. Dude should have his license stripped. Also, I called to speak with this joke and of course no return call. Wonderful staff, easy to contact and Dr. Dayton is a great vet! We were recommended this vet through the rescue where we got our furbaby from and we've had nothing but great experiences. Our poor girl has had several procedures done here and they're always very kind and patient with her. We are new to having a pet at home and Dr. Dayton is always willing to put us at ease and answer our multitude of questions. Beyond angry is all I can start with. Stepson took his dog in, the dog clearly needed help; lethargic, urinating blood, dehydrated, refused to eat..etc-very bad shape and we were all in a panic! The "Dr" prescribed several diagnostic procedures; blood work, ultrasonic catheter to extract urine, and also included a $127 X-ray. We all know that an X-ray will not provide a clear enough picture to see what was wrong, but someone with skills can see it with an ultrasound. We simply said we don't want the X-ray and use the ultrasound to find the problem (we could easily afford it but suggested that we could not). The Dr insisted on the Complete list of diagnostics or suggested that we see someone else (suggesting that we comply with the Veterinarian or leave seriously made me suspicious and angry) Seeing that the dog may have little time gave us no choice. We went forward paying for the X-ray, and the X-ray gave us minimal information but the vet hinted CANCER! We were given the excuse that it provided a place to start. We took our dog out of there and Long story short-The dog was much better a day later. We took him to a place that complied with our suggestions and did the ultrasound. They found fluid inflammation in the spleen and the cause was merely bacteria in the food he was recently introduced too. He is almost 100% now after a few days rest and correcting his diet. I would not recommended this veterinarian to anyone. I called before I headed over to Parker vet since I live near Katy. The front desk was helpful they gave me pricing once I found out the prices I drove nearly 45min to this vet. I figured they had reasonable prices for x-Rays since what I was quoted was 90-130$ I normally don't come to this Vet but my vet does not do x-Rays so I came to Parker . In arrival I was placed into a room immediately however waited about an hour to be seen. Once my dog was seen the vet notified me that he would need to run x-Rays to see my dogs potential hip dysplasia. They said they would quote me on what I would have to pay so I figured the pricing would be what I was quoted over the phone which was 90-130$ little did I know I was in for a rude awakening a 350$ x-Ray. After a discussion with the vet about the unfair pricing I was able to get 30$ off the price which isn't much of a savings considering the quoted price. Here's the part that really upset me after my dog got the x-Rays it turns out it was hip dysplasia and he was going to need injections of adaquen which might be life long medications. Parker vet wanted to charge me 800$+ for 6 injections and on top of that they wanted to charge me a "recheck fee" every time I went in for the injections if I paid it all upfront I would get a estimated 100$+ discount. I decided to shop around and got the injections at my vet for 130$ total all 6 of them. Needless to say it's one thing to run a lavish over the top veterinarian center but considering their location and the set up. This office should not be taking advantage of the animals and their owners I understand that everyone needs to make money but it shouldn't be at the expense of your animals poor health. read more

Dr. Dayton and his staff have been taking care of our pets for about 3 1/2 years now and we could not be happier. They have treated our dogs for a patellar luxation (without surgery too!), a horrible allergy issue (food and environmental) and a bad stomach issue from one of our dogs eating some smaller animal that was in our yard along with their normal check-ups. After every visit (even checkups!), they call to check on the pet to see how they are doing! My doctor doesn't even do that! Dr. Dayton realizes that money is an issue and makes suggestions that help to keep cost down while still doing what is best for your pet. When we were thinking of adding a new puppy to our family, I called Dr. Dayton and asked his opinion of what would be a good fit with our other dog and he talked with me for about 25 minutes on the phone discussing what I wanted and what would work with our Boston and made a great recommendation that we couldn't happier with. It is always clean and I have never been uncomfortable with anything there! We went there at first, just to get our puppy started on his shots and then we were going to find a closer vet. We never considered another vet after the first visit. Yes, they are busy at times and it is not a fancy place, but the technicians always know our pets and their personalities and treat them like family. read more

Dr. Dayton, Lauri, & the entire staff have been great to our dogs since 2006 when we moved to Houston! We drove all the way from Tomball because of a recommendation and couldn't have been happier. We took our lab in initially because she had heartworms, not expecting her to live much longer. Dr. Dayton saved her life without putting her through the harsh treatment a lot of vets would and she went on to live to be 15 years old. They genuinely care for their patients and I couldn't recommend a more competent vet. read more

Prices are little expensive but the wait of the doctor is crazy and when they finally come and attend you it's so quick. There is a vet assistant that doesn't explain vet well. It needs more improvements that's it little things can turn the whole place around. It's an average vet for me but the medicine is expensive but it works. Appointments are easy to make and we rarely have to wait more than a few minutes when we arrive. Do NOT recommend this clinic. I have taken two dogs very ill and after a lot of testings and treatment Dr. Dayton said they would be just fine , but no, both of my babies died. I think Dr. Dayton already knew that my babies would not be okay, but yet he said that for my money. On both occasions my bill was $900ish.
