The whole process went well once I got signed and my dog seen. The wait was a little long but I'm not the only pet owner whose pet needed to be seen. Mr. Garza and his staff are absolutely great. They helped me through what has to be the worse vet visit anyone would ever want to face which was putting my baby down. After 14 years of having my baby Cade (male cocker spaniel), I needed to put him down because of his health. They informed me of how the process would go and what to expect, even gave me time to grieve if I needed. They made the experience much better than I thought it would be. I now take my others dogs to this vet. The wait can be a little a long but the service is totally worth it. Also cheaper than most other vets as well. Definitely recommend! read more

BEWARE SPAY AND NEUTER PATIENTS We had an appointment to spay my dog, but instead she spent all day in a kennel and was not attended. Apparently this vet tries to book as many dogs as possible without really knowing when they'll be going under the knife. They called me at 4pm saying my dog hadn't gone under surgery yet but would have to stay overnight so she could be done first thing in the morning. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional considering she was there to check in before opening time at 8am. I also called around 1pm to check on her status and they lied to me and told me she was almost done and I'd get a call when she was out of surgery. My boyfriend and I took off work for this. We were there all morning filling out paperwork and waiting for the doctor to see her. What kind of business practice is it to skip around your patients instead of first come first serve? And if you are going to practice this way you should disclose this information to your patients before even charging them letting them know that their dog might not be attended that same day. When we went to go get her I asked for a refund since nothing was done and I was absolutely not going to leave her overnight. It is my birthday today and I want my baby home. The receptionist didnt even want to give me a full refund because of medication that was given to prep her and also for the consultation before surgery. Except there was no surgery, so why should I be charged for something that was their fault. I scheduled my baby to be spayed TODAY and you charged me TODAY, almost $250 for a 14lb dog. So why does she have to spend the night and go through all this mess? Best believe I got my refund but after much back and forth. It's just not worth it. Don't waste your time. I took my senior dog to get x-rays and an ultrasound of his heart and Dr. Garza explained everything to us regarding his heart disease and how to maintain it. I love how Dr. Garza always calls him "my baby" and asks "how is my baby doing today?" whenever we see him! The staff are always helpful and understanding as well. I believe Dr. Garza really cares about animals and it really shows. The wait can be long but I always try to be there at 8am (when they open) so I can score a good spot in line. My 9 year old dog got sick and we took her here because he treated our cat and had to amputate our cats leg we made payments and paid almost 3,000. When Whiskey got sick two days ago we took her here and he said the cost to take care of her was going to run 10000.00 something about a disease because she wasn't fixed she's almost 9 years old so we had no choice but to euthanize her so I said ok well then it was going to be 160.00 to hold her body for the cremation people I explained I didn't have it she's my daughters dog she was waiting for two hours came home I got in the car and went back it was 2:00 before they saw the dog my daughter works night I had to wake her to tell her we had to put the dog down when I told him the vet that I didn't have 160.00 he put her in a trash bag and gave her to me and told me "here's your dog don't ever come back". I promise we won't and I suggest no one else does either. We really don't even understand why my dog couldn't be helped because we don't have a lot of money and it was surgery or put her down. Two days ago she was fine. The way this man treated me was horrific. I also found out once I got home that the office lady had called my daughter and told her she owed 80.00 for putting her down she left out the ugliness and what the vet said. I came to Garza Vet Clinic about 4 years ago when I only had one pet and I absolutely loved the service and treatment my fur baby, Rocky, and I were given. After getting my second fur baby, Dotsy, I decided to move clinics and enroll in a discount plan they offered to save money for both pets. I should've done my research because it wasn't the smartest choice to switch to a chain pet clinic.The new vet considered Rocky to be aggressive towards him while in the room with me so he automatically marked his chart as a drop off and of course that automatically applied to Dotsy as well. I really disliked that after the first visit I never got to speak or see the Dr. who was treating my fur babies all these years. It all felt so impersonal. So I had to make some financial changes and switched back to Garza Vet clinic. I was a bit hesitant to how Rocky would act with Dr. Garza since I had been told he was a bit aggressive but Rocky did perfectly fine. He kept his distance from Dr. Garza at first but then came around. I loved that Dr. Garza didn't give up on trying to earn Rocky's trust and that he treated us like he really cared and wanted to help. Dr. Garza explained everything clearly and I really enjoyed being able to talk to him face to face and express all my concerns for my pets. It helped me understand my pets a little better. At the time of check out, I came to realize that the cost wasn't that much different from the place I had switched over to 3-4 years ago. I am very happy to be back with Dr.Garza. I have taken all of my dogs here and he is the best in the business. Dr. Garza has taken care of my oldest dogs to my youngest and those in between and he really does care about the animals. I must mention his prices are excellent. He did surgery on my Pit Bull Isis and he made time for her to have her surgery although he was full for that day. He took great care of her and she is back to normal. He has excellent communication skills and he explains everything that he is doing to your dog. He does have a lot of clients so get there early. Did not use this vet for medial needs but aesthetic only. Dr Garza did an amazing job with my dogo Argentino. He did her ears for me and they are beautiful. The techs were always nice and dr Garza is highly sought after. I do believe there is a bit of improvement needed with the doctor staff and it's unfortunate because he's an incredible doctor. We chose a different vet as her primary care doctor but he is an artist with ear cropping. He did her ears as a small puppy and very humanly. It was a full surgery. Highly recommend. Best in Houston. Drove 30 minutes to get to this veterinary clinic to only be told they were too busy. When I called to try to make appointment the answering machine said they take the last walk-in at 4:30 and they close at 6:00. We got there around 4:00 to only be turned away. We were told to come back in the morning. Their answering machine says they see sick animals in the morning and vaccines in the afternoon starting at 2:30. All lies! Why then have that information if they aren't going to follow through?? All I needed was to get my dog vaccinated. Last time I try to come to this place. On 3/29/2022 I woke up in the morning to fine my dog Roxy was very ill. At the time I thought thankfully Garza vet opens at 8am. So I ended up taking her as soon as they opened only to find out that the doctor wasn't there as soon as his clinic opened. I asked the front desk at what time will he be getting there and was told that he will be another hour to hour and a half. So that would push his arrival at 930 maybe 10am. So I asked for my dogs history paperwork so I can find another vet that was actually there when their clinic open to see if they could help my dog. Unfortunately my dog Roxy didn't make it to the other vet. She had passed 5 minutes from the other vet that is located on Yale and 610 north. I don't know if garza could have saved my Roxy but I will never know because garza clinic doctors never show up when the clinic open. Yes I do understand that I could of taken Roxy to the Emergency but why would I have to drive 20 miles when my vet was open and is 10 minutes from my home. I've been going to garza clinic since my early 20s and I am now 38 yrs old and this the second low blow garza has gave me. First with my beloved Kane that they kept giving me the run around with his health and at the end they told me they couldn't do anything for him. Now with my chihuahua Guerro. He currently has something going on with his health that I've repeatedly told garza about and they always would tell me the same crap. They need to do blood work and next time I bring him in they will get to it. This went one for a a while. The new vet that I finally decided to take Guerro actually did the blood work right there on the spot. Something garza seem that he could never do. 3/29/2022 was and will be the last time I ever set foot in that clinic. I am currently making arrangements for my Roxy to be put to rest. I feel so betrayed by garza and his clinic for all the loyalty I have gave him and his clinic over the past years. Dr. Garza has been caring for my Tiffany (yorkie) for over 10 yrs. Dr. Garza is very caring and attentive, he actually LISTENS to my concerns ...that's more than I can say about my cardiologist!! We have recently moved to the Corpus Christi area and I still drive the 3 1/2 hours to bring Tiffany to Dr. Garza if she's ill. If you are looking for a great vet that WILL NOT rush you through like cattle and will go the extra mile to care for your "baby" then Dr. Garza should be your vet!!! His staff is AWSOME very professional...I've been in the waiting room with dogs barking, several people at the counter waiting for different reason, kids crying, ect., and the staff behind the counter was calm and collective, I also observed them acknowledge each person as they signed in. Just 10 minutes ago I had to contact the office and was very impressed when the young lady answered the phone and asked me to " please hold" she actually waited on me to respond unlike some business you call they put you on hold really fast without waiting on you to respond. I'm not making these observations of the staff from a 1 day visit but from having to bring Tiffany to see Dr Garza for 5 consecutive days. And each day on a scale of 1-10 I would rate his staff a 10 I'm in tears as I write this review because my Tiffany was very ill when I bought her to see Dr. Garza Monday, July 6th but thanks Dr Garza and his staff she's much better today. My dog was neutered last Thursday and today he has not urinated all day. No one gave me a warning if this is normal or what to do! They also do not have an emergency contact number or answering service! All they gave me was pain medicine and that isn't helping! The doctor is great but his staff is lazy and forgetful. Dr Garza saved my cats life with emergency surgery about 10 years ago. I am forever grateful --{@ and the clinic is kept clean. His staff these days are a problem though. When I went to renew my Trifexis for my dogs, I found the product cheaper online but Garza's staff insisted I buy from their website which cost me about 25-30% more . . . On another occasion I spent $100 for a visit and medicine one of my pets desperately needed. When I got home it turned out the syringe was too large to fit in the bottle. I tried the best I could to get the medicine in the syringe to make sure of the measurement but spilled 1/3 to 1/2 of it in the process. I had to wait until they opened to express my frustration. They neither would give me the proper size syringe nor replace any of the medication. Again, Dr Garza is great and kind, but the staff lacks empathy or even common sense in helping the patients. Recently my fathers friend suggested this pet clinic to us, and I'm so happy they did! Sometimes with going to the vet it can be super expensive ! Before garza vet clinic I was going to the vet clinic they had in petco, but it was always super expensive visits! Most vets just suggest things you don't need to just make money, but Garza vet clinic is not only affordable but they do not pressure you to do things that aren't necessary. Also, overall the visits are pretty fast once you are inside the room. The staff & Dr.'s are super nice! The first time I ever took my puppy the doctor even told me, " I'm not going to charge or do anything incessant if I don't feel like your pet needs it." Which makes me super happy ! Every time I go to this vet I'm not leaving out being charged an arm and a leg. I highly recommend this vet ! Also I would suggest getting there pretty early because they don't do by appointments, and they are closed between 12-2 I want to say ? This is the second time I bring my dog to Garza Veterinary and I will not be bringing her back. It is a first come first serve vet with no appointments supposedly. You would think if that the earlier you arrived the faster you'd be seen. Twice I've arrived by 8 am opening time and have waited for more than 2 hours. It's pretty frustrating seeing people who came after me be seen (6 people today). The first time was a simple Bordatella shot and I waited more than 2 hours. Two weeks ago my 16 year old Catahoula female named Snooky had finally reached her sickest day. She was a wonderful rescue girl that I had since she was six months old. Ironically, I am also fighting a major health issue with Pancreatic Cancer. As emotional as I was over both of us being so sick I didn't want her to suffer beyond her pain. I found Garza Vet Clinic, online, to be fairly reasonable with their prices. Calling them I learned that they didn't take appointments. When I got there they greeted me and took all of my info for her procedure. I may have waited 7-8 minutes before they called us into a room. Dr. Garza, himself, came in and examined her. They brought a big fluffy blanket for her to lay on which gave her more comfort. II was by her side the entire time. It was a very peaceful, quick death. I'm writing this because in two past cases that I had to put down my other dogs , at OTHER clinics, I used was cold and was not good. That dog went into convulsions just before she died. After almost 4 years I wish I could give this place zero stars, my pitbull was put to sleep here because of his seizures. Which I didn't know at the time , it was an easy fix and all he needed was medication. I regret coming here , I loved that dog. Dr. Garza told me it was the only option. Not to mention my son has autism and was there and till this day , he remembers and cries about the vet telling us Blue was going to have to die . Not only that but almost 4 years later I spoke to a vet who told me they put him to sleep in the most painful way possible. Let me tell y'all about that day which I'm still traumatized. My blue wasn't feeling good and looked dazed, Dr. Garza came in with the vet tech and stuck a needle into his front leg and blue immediately woke up and pulled his leg back and there was blood everywhere and ran to me and was crying the whole time . I had to watch my dog die in pain. I will NEVER forget that . It was the most painful thing I've been through . I didn't know until now that they we're suppose to start an IV and give him a relaxer first and then give him the medicine to put him to sleep. From what I'm told is that, that medicine burns their skin . This cruel doctor wanted to put my dog to sleep fast and get to the next patient . Even when I called in my uncle because I was so broken , not only because I lost my dog but because of how traumatic it was , they told me they had to give the room to the next person. They didn't even give me time to cry and just take in the whole situation. So yes after all these years these people deserve to know what they did to my dog ! If you are not in a hurry for vet services and can wait at least 45 minutes to an hour then this is decent basic get services to small procedures. Even though they state they are open at 8am, the vet tech told me the vets don't come in until 9am. That should be something stated over the phone or on their billboard. We have bringing our dogs here for a couple of years because dr garza is reasonable and knows what he is doing. Just make sure you know what you are buying and why because that is what is pricey, not the $20 visit. Make sure they clip your pets nails in front of you too or this will happen! read more

After a second opinion from another vet, they determined my dog does NOT have a broken hip or hip dysplasia. He had a fractured hip which was healed with strict cage rest and medications. No surgery necessary. It's been a couple months since our horrible experience with Dr Garza and Kiko is finally healthy and recently has recovered from his neuter surgery. read more

Juan Carlos is the main Vet and he's AMAZING. Very knowledgeable and explains everything about your pet with detail. The lack of stars are really for his staff. Receptionists are ALL rude. I live about an hour away from this clinic so I called before heading out and they told me to come in for shots and when I arrived they said there was nobody to give them to my pet! Most recently I took my dog for annual vaccines in November 2016. She got part of them then and the rest she got on February 2017. The tech administered one particular shot on both occasions even though she had already received it. I of course did not notice and you would think you trust them as professionals to CHECK THE FILE PRIOR to administering vaccines.
